Accessing payload for FYI task

Guys,
We have a BPM application. There is an FYI task in the applicaiton.
When am fetching the payload from the FYI task, it doesnt contain the payload which am looking for. Other normal human task works as expected. Only FYI task is not working.
Element taskDetails = task.getPayloadAsElement(); --- task is an instance of oracle.bpel.services.workflow.task.model.Task
NodeList payloadNodeList = taskDetails.getElementsByTagName("MyPayload");
But 'payloadNodeList' is empty (doesnt contain any nodes).
Not sure why its not working. Do i miss anything here?

Not sure if this helps, but I think we have the same architecture: a custom ADF tasklist instead of the default Workspace.
From Oracle BPM we use the SystemMessageAttributes to map certain key elements for our ADF tasklist.
While doing this it helps the ADF developers so they don't have to parse through the payload of the tasks to get this information for a worklist tasks overview.
Hope it helps. J@n

  • Dynamic users for FYI task

    Hi,
    I have a FYI at the last stage in my human task flow with help of
    call CreateResourceList I can determine the desire user for sending the task (FYI) to him.
    the problem is that based on some data in the payload some time I want to send the FYI to 1 user and in some cases I want to send the FYI to 2 users.
    How can I do that? the CreateResourceList can send the task to only 1 user.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    you can choose expressions when assigning owners to tasks.
    Within this expressions you can use the Principal Functions like getPrincipalByUniqueName() or getPrincipal().
    Best Regards,
    Timo

  • When I download itunes, it says that Ipod Service failed to start. I checked the services under task manager and when I try to start it, it says access denied. How to I get access and for the ipod service to start and run?

    Please help. My ipod classic could not be recognised by itunes when I connect my ipod to PC. Previously it has been recognised before I updated. This was a while ago now and so I removed all apple files and re installed the latest itunes but am having the same problem.
    When I download itunes, it says that Ipod Service failed to start. I checked the services under task manager and when I try to start it, it says access denied. How to I get access and for the ipod service to start and run?

    Some anti-virus programs (e.g., McAfee) have this rule that can be invoked under the "maximum protection" settings: PREVENT PROGRAMS REGISTERING AS A SERVICE. If that rule is set to BLOCK, then any attempt to install or upgrade iTunes will fail with an "iPod service failed to start" message.
    If you are getting this problem with iTunes, check to see if your anti-virus has this setting and unset it, at least for as long as the iTunes install requires. Exactly how to find the rule and turn it on and off will vary, depending upon your anti-malware software. However, if your anti-virus or anti-malware software produces a log of its activities, examining the log may help you find the problem.
    For example, here's the log entry for McAfee:
    9/23/2009 3:18:45 PM Blocked by Access Protection rule NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe \REGISTRY\MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\iPod Service Common Maximum Protection:Prevent programs registering as a service Action blocked : Create
    Note that the log says "Common Maximum Protection: Prevent programs registering as a service". The "Common Maximum Protection" is the location of the rule, "Prevent programs registering as a service" is the rule. I used that information to track down the location in the McAfee VirusScan Console where I could turn the rule off.
    After I made the change, iTunes installed without complaint.

  • Hi my daughter did some changes in the settings,now i am getting voice support for every task i do,i am not able to access anything cause unable to toggle down to the reset option,pls help as to what to do

    hi my daughter did some changes in the setting,now i am getting voice support for every task i am doing,plus cannot toggle between the pages,unable to do the changes as not able to toggle to reset option either,pls help.

    You probably have the Voiceover accessibility feature turned on. It's difficult to navigate as you need to use specific voiceover gestures. The easirest thing to do is connect the phone to iTunes. Select the Summary pane and click the "Configure Universal Access..." button.  In  the window that opens,select "Neither" in the seeing options and click "OK".

  • Worklist FYI task is not visible after updating protectednumberattribute2

    Hi,
    I need you guys help please. The case is that or bpel process is creating a FYI task for user notification where a custom worklist screen is created to retreive FYI tasks for the users.
    If any of the FYI task is later updated with the API, the task becomes invisible in the worklist application and also cannot be retreived with the worklist API.
    Below is the code for retreiving and updating the task. Its an struts action and the init method is executed the first time to display all tasks.
    Later the delete method is invoked and again the init method to see the remaining tasks.

  • MS Project - can you merge from a spreadsheet/access database based on task names?

    I'm wondering if it's possible to import data on certain tasks from a spreadsheet or access database. I know you can import tasks and append them, but I was hoping to:
    - Match a task name with the task name on the spreadsheet/access database
    - Update that task in MS project with information/fields in the spreadsheet/access database
    Can this be done? Thanks.

    Hi,
    In regarding the issue, my understanding is that you want to use Excel spreadsheet as database for the Project.
    I recommend you develop an import map that includes the key fields. Please refer to the link and do it step by step:
    http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/tech-decision-maker/importing-a-vendors-excel-schedule-into-microsoft-project/
    Please Note: Since the web site is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice. Microsoft does not guarantee the accuracy of this information.
    If I misunderstanding something, please let me know and upload some sample about the Excel spreadsheet.

  • PF attribute modification in Access Policy for existing users.

    Hi Guys,
    I have an access policy for provisioning a resource. Suppose if I make some changes for the process form attribute value inside the access policy,How can I have the same attribute value reflected in the process form of users who are already provisioned by the access policy?
    Direct database update wont be a good idea here as I am having multiple access policies for the same resource. Is there any table which is having the relation between provisioned resource and curresponding access policy if at all I have to go for a custom scheduled task?
    Thanks,

    Does this solution also supposed to work in OIM 11g? I Tried it but data on the main form does not get reflected on the process form of existing users. For child data it does work.

  • BPM 11g - FYI task to send a copy to each member of a group

    In BPM 11g I am trying to send an FYI task to each member of a group. They should each get their own copy of the task so that it does not get removed from their inbox when the first person dismisses it.
    I was not successful in getting multiple copies of the task using FYI type even when multiple users were defined in the participant list. So, I changed the participant type to parallel. This was successful in sending mulitiple copies when I defined a participant list of hard coded users, but the process stopped and waited until at least one of the users dismissed it (so the FYI only behavior changed, but I can get around that with a parallel process flow).
    Still using parallel participant type, I have been trying to change from my hard coded list of users to a security group of users. If I set assignment to the group, only one task is created for the group. So, I have been trying to assign to users and use the expression ids:getUsersInGroup('LoanAnalyticGroup') to get the users in this group. I have tried several approaches to this expression but can't get it to work.
    Has anyone else successfully implemented sending tasks to all members of a group in 11g? Any advice?

    Hi all,
    We are also facing same issue.
    The function ids:getUsersInGroup doesnt return value.
    Even i imported identityservice.xsd and is_config .xsd and created variable using the *"users"* element of identityservice.xsd schema and assigned the value to this variable.
    But Audit always says
    *"XPath query string returns multiple nodes.*
    *According to BPEL4WS spec 1.1 section 14.3, The assign activity part and query should not return multipe nodes.*
    *Please check the BPEL source at line number "72" and verify the part and xpath query "*
    Help me to resolve this issue.

  • Payload in Human Task

    Hi everyone. I have declared in a .xsd file a person as show below:
    <...>
    <xsd:element name="person" type="personType">
        <xsd:annotation>
          <xsd:documentation>
            A sample element
          </xsd:documentation>
        </xsd:annotation>
      </xsd:element>
      <xsd:complexType name="personType">
        <xsd:sequence>
          <xsd:element name="name" type="xsd:string"/>
          <xsd:element name="lastName" type="xsd:string"/>
          <xsd:element name="studylevel" type="level"/>
        </xsd:sequence>
      </xsd:complexType>
      <xsd:simpleType name="level">
        <xsd:restriction base="xsd:string">
          <xsd:enumeration value="Higth"/>
          <xsd:enumeration value="Medium"/>
          <xsd:enumeration value="Low"/>
        </xsd:restriction>
      </xsd:simpleType>
    <...>As show, person has an attribute of type level. In the implementation of the HT I select as inputVariable for the task an element person from the .xsd file above.
    I have a custom HT (based on a .task file). When I drad the payload on the page, the attribute level it's displayed as an inputData field and not a comboBox, a selectOneChoice or any other selection component. That's ok, I just convert it to the one I desire, but, when I deploy and see the page, the field it's empty!!
    How it's that possible?? The values are clear from the .xsd. and also it's a valid .xsd file.
    Should I create the selection component with static (same) values of the .xsd and set the value for the payload using bindings??
    Should I do something else to see what I want? Please advice me.
    Any directions, docs or links to solve this issue w'll be appreciated.

    Hi Dariel,
    Perhaps others have gotten an XSD's enumerations to populate an ADF select one choice dropdown, but I haven't figured out how to do it either.
    Guessing you've already done this, but what I've done instead is to
    1. add the "studyLevel" attribute as a text field -> in the Properties tab, copy the text that is in the "Value" field.
    2. add the "studyLevel" attribute again but do it this time by dragging "Select One Choice" into the form -> click the "Create list" radio button -> click the "+" New icon and manually add the item's labels and values -> click "Next" -> change the label -> click "Finish".
    3. for the new Select One Choice dropdown, change the "Value" property setting to the value you copied in the first step.

  • Payload on Human Task and Task Form

    Hi all,
    I have implemented a simple BPM process on Oracle BPM 11g suite, that it calls a human task activity. The payload, for this activity, is a Data Object (related to external XSD) and it is editable via worklist. The user interface for this Human Task implementation is generated automatically through Auto-Generate actions without any customization.
    The application has been deployed successfully from JDev, but when I open the task by Workspace, I see all fields of payload in read-only mode, so I cannot edit nothing in the task form.
    Please let me know what could be the problem.
    Thanks,
    Paolo

    Are you using ps2 (11.1.1.3)? There was an issue where initiator human task activities that had parameters that were complex types needed to have the Data Object initialized via a script activity, or the fields could not be edited in the task from.
    There's an example of how to use the script in the SalesQuoteDemo. Basically you use the oraext:parseXML() function to create an initialized version of the Data Object and assign it to the Data Object in a script activity that's placed before the Initiator Human Activity. It can also be used to set defaults if needed. Here's a snippet of the expression from the SalesQuoteDemo.
    oraext:parseXML('<ns1:QuoteRequest xmlns:ns1="http://www.mycompany.com/ns/salesquote"><ns1:Summary>....</ns1:Summary<ns1:QuoteRequestStatus/></ns1:QuoteRequest>')

  • Which solution is better for schedules task? Console application or windows service?

    I have a "MULTI-LEVEL" XML file that I will be getting on daily basis and I want to accomplish following tasks:
    1) I have to read and parse the "MULTI-LEVEL" XML data
    2) Then I have to set or create some kind of .net service (c#) that read the xml and parse the data once a day (daily)?
    3) Now I have SOAP service from other software where I want to feed this XML data to. The schedules service will compare the XML data with software data and update (or add) based on the comparision.
    For this task, I come to conclusion that there are 2 best ways to do this:
    1) Create a console application and use windows task scheduler to run it everyday
    2) Create a windows service that runs in the background
    Which is a better way (or reliable)  solution to do this task? Please advise

    There are several things to keep in mind when writing an app that is designed to run without a user logged in. One of the most common mistakes is requiring some sort of user input.  Since the task will run without user intervention you don't want
    any sort of calls to Console.ReadLine, MessageBox.Show, etc.  They will cause the task to freeze and eventually need to be terminated.  You also don't want to rely on any sort of desktop apps running since a user may or may not be logged on at the
    time.
    Also be aware that a task can be scheduled to run under any user context.  As such you either need to ensure it runs under an account with sufficient privileges or that your app needs no special privileges.  You mentioned you tried to run it from
    bin\debug but you most likely have your project under your Documents directory.  Only you would have permissions to that folder and therefore will run into issues if the task is run under a different context.  You also mentioned you put it in the
    C:\ but users don't have write privileges to that folder and therefore if you tried to write a file out it would fail. If you need to read/write files then you should pick a common location that all users have access to or at least the one that will run the
    scheduled task. Be aware that, by default, Task Scheduler will not run a task elevated. You need to check the option to run elevated when you configure the user to run the task under.
    One of the key things to ensure you do with a task is verify it is working properly as a normal app.  You should also ensure that you have good logging so that if it does fail you can trace down the failure more easily.  One common thing that people
    tend to do in console apps is put a try-catch around the main function and display a message if an unhandled exception occurs. This is going to cause problems in a task.  Simply log the exception and rethrow it so Task Scheduler will flag the run as a
    failure.
    If you still cannot figure out why your task is failing then please add some logging and then tell us what code is being run at the time and what the failure is.

  • Workflow Pattern FYI Task Issue

    Hi,
    BPEL PM version 10.1.2.0.2.
    I am trying to create a workflow using FYI Task pattern. I have only one action 'Acknowledge'. The task gets created and shows up in the worklist application under my group, but the status of the task is 'Withdrawn' and no action displays for that task. I want the task to be 'Assigned' to the group and let the process continue. The group user can then acknowledge the task whenever. I used the workflow wizard to create the task.
    Why does the task show up as 'Withdrawn' with no action list? Has anybody encountered this issue before? Any help is appreciated!

    I'm also seeing instances of tasks arriving on the worklist and then being immediately withdrawn (bpeladmin) ?
    The call to InitiatTask fails :

  • FYI Tasks

    Hi,
    We have a FYI notification workflow associated to the status of Contract. When the Contract status changes, a FYI notification is sent to Contract administrator.
    Have following questions.
    1. If pl/sql Workflows are supported in Fusion
    2. As per "Oracle® BPEL Process Manager Developer's Guide"
    The FYI task cannot be extended. Any other workflow can be extended with an FYI task, but the FYI task itself cannot be extended.
    There could be customers who would have customized the worflows.If we intend to use BPEL, how will the Customer add customizations to extend the workflow.
    Appreciate any response.
    Thanks

    Yes, if you use Oracle Worlflow for PLSQL you can use it via the Database Adapter. Note that OWF is complety on it's own and has no relation to BPEL.
    But you can also use the Worlkflow Of BPEL itself. The long-term stategy is that OWF will be replaced by BPEL.
