Accessing radio button property node

I want to access the individual captions of each radio button. I want to be able to let the user change the text property of each button, not the label, while the vi is running. I could not find the property that does this in the property node. Can this be done?

At present it cycles between TEST and default color which is set in

use the "Strings[4]" property of the button. right click on the property node and see online doc for more information about the meanings of the 4 elements of strings[4].

Changing radio button property dynamically

Hi,
I decalred two blocks in selection screen named B1 and B2, each have 2 radio buttions.
B1 has radio button named B1R1 and B1R2.
B2 has radio button named B2R1 and B2R2.
If i select B1R1 then B2R1 should be selected and B2R2 should be disabled(user should not able to select).
If i select B1R2 then B2R2 should be selected and B2R1 should be disabled(user should not able to select).
Can anyone please tell me how to do this.

Radio Button Property

Hi Folks,
How do we get the Radio Button Label in a Radio Group at run time.
Eg: I have various forms which runs the same procedure to populate database table with visible object properties in the Form like Label,Type etc.. If the form has a Radio Group with couple of Radio Buttons, then the procedure should read the Label of each Radio Button and Populate the Database Table with this values.
Any Suggestion / ideas are apprecited and welcome.

You have to use *UNDOCUMENTED* properties!
RADIO_BUTTON_1 := Get_Item_Property(RADIO_GROUP_ITEM, First_Button);
RADIO_BUTTON_2 := Get_Radio_Button_Property(RADIO_GROUP_ITEM, RADIO_BUTTON_1, Next_Button);
I use this in forms 6i and it works very well, but I never found something about these properties in the documentation and also nothing in the help files.

How to put a radio button ina table

I want to show a radio button in a table which table contains multiple rows, so with this radio button user can select only one row out of multi rows.
My table like this am getting the data from RFC...

Try this:
Step1: Right click on RootUIElementContainer and manually insert the Table
Step2: Now right click on Table and Insert the TableCoulmn Group
Step3: In the TableColumnGroup Insert TableColumn
Step4: Now Insert TableCellEditor Radio Button Type.
Step5: Bind the value attributes to the Radio Button property called selectedKey and KeyToSelect and deploy the application

Disabling Radio Button Conditionally is not working Well

I have three radio buttons

I will be showing this radio button conditionally according to the user who logs into the application.
Assume, suppose if a person 'A' enters into the application means he will be shown only these radio button options ---NH---,----OB----,----Self-----
Suppose, if a person 'B' enters into the application means he will be shown only these radio button options ----NH----,----Self---
If a person 'C' enters into the application means he will be shown only these radio button options ---Self---
I have restricted those radio buttons according to the users who enter into the application using their roles.
But my challenge here is once the user logged in and if he select anyone of the radio button means,
Example if he selects----NH---means, then ---OB----and -----Self---radio button has to disable and if he selects ---OB----means then ----NH-----and ---Self---has to
disable(vice versa).
I have also achieved the same using the DA.
With true action as: javascript Expression i have given the following codings( i have written the below DA for three cases, if the request_class_code is equal to

the source of my radio button in my DA only when the three options are present.
How i can solve this issue for the user who is having this two radio option or one radio option.

How to increment array that contains two clusters whose visibility is controlled by a visible property node and selected by a radio button.

I am trying to use a property node: visible in order to enable or disable one of two clusters. These clusters are in a larger cluster and this larger cluster is in an array. The two clusters are controlled by a radio button (one labeled transistor and the other diode). When diode is selected, the corresponding diode parameters cluster should be visible and when transistor is selected, the corresponding transistor parameters cluster should be visible. In the mean time, the cluster of the device that is not selected should not be visible. There are at least 45 elements in the array (but not more than 45). Data is entered into each cluster (diode or transistor data) for each element in the array via the increment/decrement. The problem is when you select the first radio button (transistor) and enter data, when you increment the array for a new device selection, since a visible property node was used on the cluster, a loop is created where a new cluster is trying to be shown, but the old cluster is also trying to be shown (because it is the one referenced by the property node. How do I get rid of this loop and still be able to increment the array and keep my data intact for future use? Attached is the vi

You could try something like this. However, if you know how to use an xcontrol, that would be a better way to implement the above functionality so that these UI characteristics are not a part of your main VI. The problem with the above VI is that you're looping every 100 ms just to update your UI.
Also, try using the "disabled" property node, instead of the "visible" one. That way, the user will still see the options he has but they will be grayed out.

Use 3 button or property to change selection of radio buttons?

Hi all,
I have LV 7.1 and am trying to write a process that allows the user to select the next action following the execution of several Case Structure steps. The VI is basically thus: (sorry I can't cut-n-paste a graphic, it's on another pc.)
While loop:--->radio button (Manual, Cycle, Auto Test)----> Case Structure (Manual, Cycle, Auto Test)--->Nested Case Structure within the "Auto Test" Case above with 13 cases ("0" to "12")
On case "12" of the nested case structure, I want to provide a 3-button dialog box (or something that works) which allows the user to select the next test mode (i.e. the 1st case structure: "Manual", "Cycle", "Auto Test"). I can't figure out how to send anything that the property node "Value" of the radio button can use for this selection. When I create an indicator to see what is sent from the 3-button, it shows ("Left", "Center", or "Right") "Button" strings. The radio button "Value" property node needs an enum. The labels on the 3-button don't seem have any consequence.
Any Suggestions?

Thanks for the reply. I experimented with the Property Node and Radio Button control extensively and figured out my problem. It had to do with the difference between Labels, Captions, and Boolean Text. I believe I had a caption on one of my buttons rather than the label, so the property node didn't see it as an option. Through all the help screens that had the option of explaining this to me, it wasn't until I had fixed the problem before I found one that addressed the differences between those terms. I'll attach my experiment vi (created with LV 7.1) for anyone like myself (non-programmer, inexperienced LabVIEW'er) that would like to see the basic function.

I was adding another on to our tennis page. I just copied the flash files to my tennis folders and renamed everything tennis instead of football including the buttons like you can see on the right side of the page in the photo.
I'm pretty sure it has something to do with me renaming the button, because I never changed anything in the code except replacing the word football to tennis in every spot. and renamed my buttons to tennis instead of football.

How to change the colour of text property in Radio button?

Hello All,
I am having some radio buttons in my application. i want to change the colour of text property by default it is black.
Could any one please suggest me how to do it?

Currently you cannot, it is a known (and hopefully reported, and at least addressed for next version) bug (or limitation, as they rushed to get the components out before JavaOne...).
People reported they just put an empty text and put a label beside the component. Ugly workaround (bad when the component will be complete) but if it works... :-)

Help comparing the value of a button using the Property Node (I get a variant)

Dear Sirs:
(I'm using LabView 6. I guess the solution is different for 6.1)
Currently I have created an array of Boolean RefNums (which point to many, many buttons). When I need to know when any (and which) of the buttons was pressed I just compare every element on the array with the constant TRUE. It fact, as the array is built from RefNums, I should compare the VALUE from the Property Node.
The problem here is that the Property Node for this type of Boolean is a LV Variant, and I need to compare this with a TRUE/FALSE value.
I tried to convert the TRUE constant to a LV variant and visc. But nothing works... I always get that none of the buttons was pressed.

mes the question: "How can I compare the value of a Property Node for a Boolean (Button) with a TRUE (or False) constant?"
BTW, maybe I should explain why I'm using RefNums instead of the direct values: As my project requires tons of buttons, I would preffer using RefNums to refer to them. (I.E. I could use a single VI that takes the RefNum and formats the button to hide it for certain users).

There is another problem in your code: the booleans are not polled by the main loop so they will remain false until the user presses them again. This renders the boolean latch action useless.
What you can do is to change the mechanical action of the booleans to non-latch. When you detect a "true" in the polling loop, set the boolean to false again. One added benefit is that once all boolean are non-latch, the value property won't be a variant but a boolean so conversion is no longer needed.

Tree Control Property Node for Accessing "Child Text" String Array

When adding items to a tree control using the EditTreeItems invoke nodes, the inputs include "Child Tag", "Item Indent", "Child Only?", "Glyph Index", "Child Text", and "Left Cell String" as can be seen in this screenshot.
There are property nodes for the tree control for accessing each of these elements, except for the "Child Text", which is an array of strings. It is possible to access this data as outlined in this forum post, but this method is somewhat involved and round about.
I suggest that a property for the Tree class be created to access the Child Text array directly.

The work around only works if you do not have an empty string element some where in the middle.
At lest could the "Active Celltring Property" read return an error when you have gone beyond the end of the array.

Select first node in train depending on Radio Buttons

now i want to select the first node in the train depending on the selected Radio Button
let us say that i have two radio button "manual", "automatic"
and i have train consist of 5 nodes
if I select "manual" then the first node in the train will be node number 1
if Is select "Automatic" the node number 3 will be the first node

I founded two jar one called adf-pageflow-impl.jar and the other oracle.adf-pageflow-impl.jar on my version of jdeveloper 11g R2
i added them to my class path but the problem is still exist

Can I access probe image display property node?

Hello
Working with labview 2010.
I would like to use a user defined palette in the probe image display.
I know how to do it for standard image display, but not for the probe viewer. Is it possible to access the property node of that display?

Can i use a custom probe to apply a user defined LUT?

It sounds like you want to enable Snapshot mode on the image display controls. Note that you will then need to wire the image to the display reference each time that you want the display to be updated.
