Accessing SharePoint from Captivate 5

I'm building an interactive program in Captivate 5 in which I'd like for the learner to go out to a SharePoint discussion board and leave comments and then return to where they were in the Captivate program. Is there a way to do this?

The user needs to open a separate window to add the comments to the Sharepoint site. If you open another URL in the same window as the Captivate content is playing, you'll likely have problems getting the user back to the same spot when you link back to it again because as far as Captivate is concerned you're starting a new session.
Just pause the Captivate content at the spot where you want them to open the new window (via a button or click box) as a new browser session. Then after they've finished in the other window and close it, their Captivate session is still sitting there underneath and they can continue playing the content.

Problems in authentication while accessing WSDL from Sharepoint

I am trying to access objects from a SharePoint on my company site, which requires Authentication and Authorization in order to access the same. I have written a client and am trying to access the WSDL using Axis 1.0.
I am getting an authentication error whiletyring to access the same . The details are listed below. Is there any workaround you may be knowing to get over this firewall problem, that they may be facing ?

As a workaround I can start the application in debug mode, log into the Weblogic console and stop then restart the deployment and this issue goes away, sort of a pain but it does work.

Access to SharePoint from the Internet

I have a couple of users that are always on the run, using computers that is not a member of our domain. They want to access the SharePoint from oiutside our firewall, and use OneDrive for Business to sync document archives on our site.
I have opened up the nessesary ports in the firewall and they can access the site and sync the archives. But SharePoint keeps asking for username and password for every document they try to open.
I basically want the user to enter username and password once. How can i achieve this? Is it at all possible? What is best practice for giving remote users access to SharePoint recources?

No. The "usual" SSO experience is gained if computers are part of the same domain and the web site your logging into is part of Local Intranet zone in the client browser settings. This allows for automatically login. However as your machines are
not domain joined, this is not an option.
The Wep application Proxy is a proxy role to the ADFS server role, so it would actually be two servers if implemented according to recommendations. However WAP and ADFS could serve multiple applications, so it's more to be regarded as an extension of your
directory services, than an application specific gateway. WAP and ADFS is part of the Windows 2012 R2 license, so no additional software costs beyond O/S license. This will allow you to use Windows Integrated authentication, meaning that it is their domain
users they are using.
With Forms based authentication, your creating a new set of users. Meaning that users will have to manage both their domain user and a form based user. You also need to manage a separate repository for the forms based users, which is typically a SQL database.
I would not recommend Forms based authentication, if you have the choice to use authentication gateway.
An alternative, which I still see used, could be the TMG. Which is a combined Firewall/Router/ReverseProxy/Authentication Gateway product. However Microsoft has already stated they they will discontinue this product in favor of WAP/ADFS.
Implementing the WAP/ADFS also opens up for the possibility to implement and use federated identities within your applications.

SharePoint 2010 is not very friendly on an iPad, in my experience.
Accessing SharePoint via a browser on the iPad doesn't work well. There is often a problem with "double authentication" requests. Single sign-on, in general, doesn't work well on the iPad.
The way to go is definitely with third party apps. One that I have used to great effect (and they're not paying me to say so) is Collogo Briefcase:

As an aside, SP2010 doesn't even know about iPads (no entry in OOTB compat.browser file -- though you can add one yourself). SP2010 was built before iPads were so ubiquitous.

How to access sharepoint site from domain B users .

SharePoint 2010 is installed in one domain A. another domain created in another country and both domains are trusted.
and domain B users are added in sharepoint site. But when users of another domain try to access sharepoint site they are not able to access.

When you say they cant access, what is the issue? 404 error etc. or SharePoint access denied?

Trying to access SharePoint / Office 365 Server options from the browser

When I use the Open With Explorer view of a SharePoint library and open a document from there, I am prompted to Check Out & Open (or just open) the file. And then from the open file, under the File menu, I have an option for SharePoint / Office 365 Server, to check the file back in and/or to update Document Properties. This is the exact functionality I am looking for. My question is, why don't I have this option when I open the PDF in one of these scenarios:
direct from the browser (within SharePoint)
from a synced library
outside of SharePoint (i.e. from the Desktop)

Users in new OU in Active Directory have to enter credentials when accessing SharePoint Foundation 2013

Hi,
We have a SharePoint farm consisting of one web front end server and one database server, running SharePoint Foundation 2013. This farm has been up and running for over a year and uses AD for authentication, and SharePoint groups for authorization.
The problem we are seeing is when we create a new Organizational Unit in AD, and add users under this new OU they are prompted for their credentials when trying to access SharePoint. We've done the below tests to narrow the issue down:
1) New user (xxx) in new OU (111) logs into Windows PC and tries to access SharePoint via IE 10 -- they are prompted for their credentials. They are required to enter their username as 'domain\username' to be able to log in successfully to SharePoint.
2) Existing user (yyy), in existing OU (222) logs into same Windows PC and tries to access SharePoint via IE 10 -- they are NOT prompted for their credentials and get into SharePoint successfully.
3) Existing user (yyy) is moved into new OU (111), logs into same Windows PC and tries to access SharePoint via IE 10 -- they are prompted for credentials and need to use 'domain\username' to log in to SharePoint
4) Existing user (yyy) is moved out of new OU (111) and back into their old OU (222), logs into same Windows PC and tries to access SharePoint via IE 10 -- they are prompted for credentials and need to use 'domain\username' to log in to SharePoint
Note: both the new OU (111) and old OU (222) are within the same parent OU.
1 & 2 combined tell me that it's not a PC or IE issue. We've also tried 1 & 2 on multiple PCs so that would eliminate a profile issue as well.
To me it seems that SharePoint doesn't know that the new OU is in our domain, so it doesn't think the users within the new OU are in our domain, which is why they have to supply the domain with their username when logging in...but I'm not exactly an expert
when it comes to AD so this is just a guess on my part.
As a long shot, what I thought may fix it would be by syncing AD with SharePoint by using User Profile Synchronization, but it's not offered as part of SharePoint Foundation, so I used this nice solution at CodePlex (https://foundationsync.codeplex.com/),
but that did not fix it.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? Or what the issue may be?

I feel very stupid right now -- I did look at this before posting this question to the forum, but it seems I didn't look far enough.
We have a GPO that enters our domain into the 'Local intranet' of IE. Our SharePoint site's URL is "http://sharepoint.ourdomain.com" and we've got "*.ourdomain.com" under Local intranet sites. But, I also found the FQDN "sharepoint.ourdomain.com"
under 'Trusted sites' and that seems to confuse SharePoint because once I moved the FQDN to Local intranet, and removed it from Trusted Sites, the user is now not prompted for their credentials when going into SharePoint.
Thanks for your reply in making me take a second look.
EDIT: We've just removed the FQDN from Local intranet, so all we have is "*.ourdomain.com" under Local intranet and it works as well.

Adobe Connect 9 Training Course Video gets resized after being published from Captivate 6

Hello!
I have an FLV that I have published to Adobe Connect 9 from Adobe Captivate 6.
I have set the size of the video to the dimensions that best display the FLV with player controls.
However, when I publish to Adobe Connect 9, the video is resized to a smaller size and looks heavily pixelated.
Is there a way to keep the dimensions and quality without Adobe Connect 9 resizing it?

If you notice in the image above the video is smaller and the CMS logo is very pixelated due to Adobe Connect 9 resizing it.
I am not sure how to keep the dimensions that I have from Captivate 6 and have it reflect after it has been published to Adobe Connect 9.
And is there more functionality that I am not able to access since I am using a 30-Day trial.

You are correct that this is a known issue. There was a fundamental change to the way objects are added to the timeline that came in with Cp6. The result is that objects such as your SWF animations are only loaded at the time they are added to the timeline, and this causes the slide flickering you witness. There's not really a lot you can do to get rid of it other than rebuilding all of your animations to be a single animation that once loaded will continue unabated until finished.

Detect end of the .swf file from captivate

Hi,
I've a .swf file sent by our clients. They want to put that .swf file on the webpage. The .swf file is published from captivate.
Now they want to display a submit button on end of the .swf (video). I don't know how to detect end of the video.

Welcome to our community
Within Captivate you are able to choose different actions to occur when the Captivate movie completes play. Of course if you don't have Captivate and the project file you are pretty much stuck with what you have. If you *DO* have access to the source, you would then configure the end action to be what you like. Perhaps execute some JavaScript, load a different page, etc.
If you don't have access to the source file, you may be better off asking whomever provided the SWF to you to make a small change to the end action. They would then compile a new SWF and provide that to you to use.
You just said a "Submit" button should appear after the video plays. What exactly is this button supposed to do?

Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you want to access SharePoint list from Java application through REST.
In some cases you may need to create a new access token (this is somewhat akin to "running as a different user").
Essentially, you are using a different user's security context. Typically, you would create an Active Directory account specifically for this purpose and then grant appropriate rights to the user account in SharePoint.

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to access SharePoint Online One-Drive for business API using OAuth 2.0 authentication.
In summary, Rest API can work with OAuth 2.0 authentication.
