Account's Attributes section sometime return empty page.

Hi,
we have a problem with IDM 8.1
Sometime happens that when you want so see the Attributes section of an account you will get an empty page, whithout any error.
It happens with Mozilla and also IE.
No error is present in log files.
Please can you help me?

This is likely due to a combination of both a bug in IDM and the JRE version you're running. I would first recommend applying the latest IDM 8.1 patch, which is 8.1.0.14 (available at http://support.oracle.com).

Getserver cookie - returns empty page

Hi,
I am using MVC,
I have firstpage - a controller for that and a model class.
I have second page - a controller for that and the model is the same as the first one.
I am using a single model class but multiple controllers and multiple views. I am trying to use server cookies to set and get attributes between the pages.
First Page - I have 2 attributes - on Do_init - I instantiate Model. Do_request - loads the firstpage. Do_handle-data - once the data is entered in firstpage, gets it from form fields and loads it into cookie.
Do_handle_event - gets the values from the cookie and processes it and makes a table to be passed to the seconf page. I loaded this table in the cookie and - call second.do
Second page - in controller - DOInit - i have again instantiated Model - in Dorequest - I try to read from the cookie for the table data...But I am getting an empty page. I debugged it and in the Do request - where I call the get_server_cookie - nothing happens, just returns empty page...
Does anyone know why?? can I not access the cookie by name in more than once controllers??
Is this a right way of navigating between pages?? I want all the objects in the pages accessible across all the pages...should be able to read and write as per events...please suggest...

Hi,
Put that cookie in the navigation->set_parameter and paas it to the next page in the page attributes as an 'AUTO'.

Edit Outline sometimes returns empty

I'm working on an EAS 7.1.6 Test ASO cube (Windows) and most times when I try to edit an Outline it opens up empty with no dimensions listed. I can always do a View on the outline and the outline ALWAYS show up fine. Note this cube is a copy/modifed version of a prod cube.
I have tried the View/Edit on the Prod version of the cube, other prod cubes, and sample cubes but I get the same results unfortunately.
However, I created a simple cube and this seems to work fine. I created a new application, database with a three dimensions each with children. No data loaded. Edit Outline opens up fine.
The only workarounds I have so far is to ask the EAS admin to restart EAS, or on a couple occasions I stepped out for lunch and on a second attempt, the edit outline worked. But this second approach works rarely.
- I also noticed that the machine with the Essbase client is 2GB RAM , 9GB HDD, XP - prolly a virtual machine.
Any thoughts on what is going on here or if you need any further details.

7.1.X was flakly with ASO cubes. It was typically memory issues as everytime you edit an ASO outline it grows in size. Two things I suggest.
1. Increase the memmory for EAS
2. look at my blog entry for compacting outlines. http://glennschwartzbergs-essbase-blog.blogspot.com/2010/06/aso-outline-compaction.html
Of course, the best answer is to upgrade to 11.1.2.1 as there the functionality of ASO cubes has been enhanced so much in the later versions starting with 9.3.1. Things like not needting to reload after any change, clearing part of a cube, user defined calcs and much more.

On CMC Home Authentication page returns empty

Long run report returns a empty page?

Hi,
My report takes about 10 minute to run, it worked on report developer (local pc), but return a empty report if run from URL against the report server (on Unix box). What might be the problem and how to fix it?

what desformat did you use ? does that reproduce with all desformats ?
sometimes, if you use PDF as the desformat, Adobe Acrobat Reader is not invoked correctly, which results in an empty page.

Fn_my_permissions returns empty result yet my account is a member of sysadmin?

I was trying to see what permissions I had on another server using fn_my_permissions
USE Database_name_here
SELECT * FROM sys.fn_my_permissions(NULL, 'SERVER')

SELECT * FROM sys.fn_my_permissions(NULL, 'SERVER')
The one DB that returns the expected list of permissions is the only DB where I am the owner. Others return an empty result.
My (domain) account is in the local administrators group which is in the sysadmin server role.
Whats going on here? Does my account have to be explicitly granted permissions to those schemas? Is role membership not enough?

SELECT * FROM fn_my_permissions(NULL, 'SERVER') returns a list of the effective permissions of the caller on the server.
For the server itself, a null value (meaning "current server") is required and fn_my_permissions cannot check permissions on a linked server.
In my option, the server level permission should not change with the databases you specified. You can re-run the code and see if it returns empty by chance.
To return a list of the effective permissions of the caller on the AdventureWorks2012 database:

How to get Report Builder to print a section on the same page

I have a section of my report that is three bands. A header
band, the detail band, and a total line band. Sometimes this
section will get split up and print part on the next page. So
basically I need for this section to print on the same page. I know
that I could insert a page break right above the header, but this
will make my report way longer than it needs to be. I have also
unchecked "split allowed" for that band also but that didn't make a
difference. Is there some way to group three bands together so that
if it is two big to print the section on the current page then
print the whole section on the next page. It is driving our
accounting lady nuts because when she likes to verify that the
totals are coming out right and sometimes she has to flip over to
the next page to continue calculating.

EntryProcessor invokeAll returning empty ConverterMap{}

I am trying to write a custom entryprocessor and whatever I return from the invokeAll method in the entryprocessor, I am always getting a empty ConverterMap{}. The code for the entryprocessor is as below:

I get the desired results. Please help me with the details why it is happening this way when the return type of the processAll is a Map.

the process() return value object, or the entry value objects in the map returned by processAll() can be arbitrary objects. So you just return a map from process(), and return a map as the entry value in the result map from processAll().
The AbstractAggregator has a fairly badly documented contract in the Javadoc (does not properly cover the values received in different scenarios for invocation). You should probably read the section about it in the Coherence book, that explains leveraging AbstractAggregator in significantly more details. It also happens to be in the sample chapter, but I recommend reading the entire book.
I am not sure about the issues relating to posting links to PDFs on Packt's webpage, so I won't do that. Please go to Packt's webpage (http://www.packtpub.com ), look for the Coherence book there and download the sample chapter (or order the book).
In short, all 3 to-be-implemented methods (init(), process(), finalizeResult()) in AbstractAggregator are called both on the server and on the caller side. You can distinguish which side you are on from looking at both the passed in fFinal boolean parameter and the m_fParallel attribute tof the aggregator instance.
There are 3 cases:
- non-parallel aggregation processing extracted values (m_fParallel is false, I don't remember what fFinal is in this case),
- parallel aggregation storage side processing extracted values (if I correctly remember, m_fParallel is true, fFinal is false),
- parallel aggregation caller side processing parallel results (m_fParallel and fFinal are both true).
Depending on which side you are on, the process method takes different object types (on server side it receievs the extracted value, on caller side it receives a parallel result object instance).
You SHOULD NOT override any of the other methods (e.g. aggregate() which you mentioned).
The advantage of this approach is that the AbstractAggregator subclass instance can pass itself off as a parallel-aggregator instance.
You should put together a temporary result in a member attribute of the AbstractAggregator subclass, which also means that it will likely not be thread-safe, but at the moment it is not necessary for it to be thread-safe either as it is called only on a single-thread.

Crystal generates empty pages for a datasource with a lot of data

Hi, I hope someone have some hints to solve my problem with generating large reports.
I have SAP Crystal Reports runtime engine for .NET Framework 4 32-bit installed on my Microsoft Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise Server.
Since I update Crystal Reports to 13.0.2.469 large Reports have only empty pages. If I print those Reports the data are visible, the report is displayed correct.
I solved the problem temporarily by setting SeparatePages to true for the CrystalReportViewer Control, but for the future I need the complete report displayed at once.
I would be very pleased about your help / hints.

My report has only one cross table in it. I can generate it for a dataset with 26 rows. If there are 27 rows the report is empty.
If I use a diffrent report without a crosstab only with repeatable sections and less data, I can make a select for 150 rows. That shows me 5 - 7 pages.
It also makes a difference how the page settings are. If I configurate a smaller border for the top and bottom border I need to change my select to select less record rows and if I configurate a greater border there can be more record rows.
Here an example how I can reproduce my problem:

Netstorage wrong hostname & virtual office empty page

Hi,
I updates our oes box (linux) with the latest patches (not sp's) and
ofcourse: Nothing works anymore.
When I login into virtual office, click on the netstorage link, I get the
following message :
NetStorage getData:IOException
URL = https://virtualoffice.<mydomain>:443/oneNet/xtier-login
HTTPS hostname wrong: should be <virtualoffice.<mydomain>
So I thought, because of a newer netstorage version, I only need to change
the link and get rid of the ':443' section.
I login with the admin account, click under administration on the service
link and a beautiful empty screen appears.
Every link under the administration gives an empty page.
So anyone experienced this before?
Can I change the link in a text file or do I really need to change it by use
of the VO administrators links?
Anyone any suggestions?

APEX listener - empty page ??

I have installed tomcat / APEX listener on Oracle Enterprise Linux 5 (with 11gR2 database)
The configuration seems to be done ... but the page: http://oel52server:8080/apex/apex give me an empty page ?

I have a similar problem-- but I believe it may not be because of JDK ver. (becaue I already use ver. 6.0).
Although I am able to see the Apex login page. http://localhost:8888/apex/, but no images are displayed. Moreover it asks for Workspace, Username, Password which I am unaware of (it did not ask for any such information while installing apex). It looks like none of the buttons/links are active. Did I do anything wrong while installing apex?
This is how I installed Apex.
1. Downloaded and installed tomcat application server and Apex Listener as per the instructions given in the link:

(section B. Installing with Apache Tomcat in the installation )
2. The images are copied to the following location (as given in the instruction):

at this point I get the login page with no images and inactive links/buttons.

On full keyboards with a numeric keypad, the key above the right shift is "return" & the one on the numeric section is "enter." On a Mac (or Apple IIgs ) they do have separate functions. On the "mini" keyboards, both names are on the same key, but "enter" is written in smaller letters. I'll have to check to see how that works on another Mac later today.

Network preferences may be corrupted.
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration
Click Go then move all the files in the SystemConfiguration folder to the Trash.
See if that makes a difference.
Your Mac will generate a new SystemConfiguration folder for you.

I am "Still" getting this error. I thought I would wake up a post to try again and see if anyone else has run into this. another piece of info here is the app is deployed as an MDB and processing xml from a topic
and the xml is parsed used for the recon event. Creating the recon event works fine. it's processReconciliationEvent that fails.
Caused by: oracle.iam.platform.utils.SuperRuntimeException: -101: Error occurred in XL_SP_RECONEVALUATEUSER while processing Event No 145 Error occurred in XL_SP_RECONREQDATACHECK while processing Event 145 Target attribute table RA_XELLERATEUSER2 is empty.

This code will work flawlessly when its running in batch on a remote machine. as soon as I put it in a weblogic managed server running on the same machine with the oim managed server I start getting this error.
I looked at the stored proc and basically XL_SP_RECONREQDATACHECK is trying to lookup the recon event just created and says it cant find it. as soon as I see the error I can run the query and the record is there.
there is no change in the code or the data only the environment.
I also put the process call in a retry loop and sleep a few seconds. I still get the error(s) but it does seem to eventually link up.
also, I setup a seperate little batch program to call reconOp.processReconciliationEvent(eventKey); given an event key from the command line and that
works also on the previously failed event.
any ideas on this strange problem?
