ACE Syslog message for State change

Hi,
Is there a syslog message for a state-change for rservers, if so how could we enable this?
e.g. when probe fails state changes to 'probe-failed'
when all probes are successful state is 'operational'

There is a syslog message something like below:
%ACE-3-251006: Health probe failed for server 10.80.10.10 on port 80 internal error: failed to setup a socket.
First enable logging on ACE.
ACE/Admin(config)# logging enable

read the section: Specifying Syslog Output Locations
logging buffered 3 should generate syslog in event of probe failure.
You can also set snmp to monitor it.

State of a real server configured in a server farm changed to a new state as a result of something other than a user intervention. This notification is sent for situations such as ARP failures, probe failures, and so on.

On a router you can send configuration changes to the syslog server by doing,

logging enable
notify syslog
Then the router will send something like,

Goal: I want to know when anybody does any kind of config on my ASA.

The syslog number 111008 and 111010 will log the command that is entered by user.
111010 is for configuration changes.

You need to enable syslog, and severity level 5, and if you don't want to see any other logging, you can only log the above 2 syslog numbers.

Monitor for State Change

I am running SCOM 2012 R2 UR4. Is it possible to setup a Windows Server monitor to notify me when the state change goes from Healthy to Critical? I want to setup one alert to e-mail me regardless of the reason for the state change.

Hi,
Monitor only alert you once when the state changes and no further alerts will be triggered until the monitor normalize either by auto resolve or going back to the healthy state.
If an alert is required every time a state change, you will have to configure a custom alert rule.

ACE Syslog Message

After running the performance tool, I can see an exception generated while hitting the VIP/443 on ACE module. Exception means connection setup error. What does it mean and how can I troubleshoot it.
Also, on my https service policy I see more than 2000 dropped conns.

See if the server responded.
Do you terminate SSL on the appliance ?
Take a sniffer trace frontend and backend to see what is going on.

ICloud sends messages for every change in someone else's calendar

I am trying to use iCloud calendar services for collaboration with my wife, and my secretary (I actually even bought a mac for my wife so that we could do this).
However every time either of them change anything in their respective calendars I get an e-mail from iCloud saying an event has been created. This only started about a week ago.
I have checked to see if some of my settings in iCloud have changed, and they haven't (the box in iCloud that says: "E-mail me when this calendar changes" is not ticked).
I am now totally confused about why I am suddenly getting all these e-mails which are quite irritating.

This seems to be a known problem with no solution at present, I'd be inclined just to wait for a fix to be released.

Syslog Messages Location

Cans someone please show me where I can find the full list of cisco's syslog messages? At the moment I can only find the full list related to ASA's. However, I would like to see the full list of syslog messages for, say, OSPF.

I believe events parsed by Sylsog analyzer are stored in the RME db. The default location on Solaris is at
/opt/CSCOpx/databases/rme/rmeng.db
Configurations are stored in the shadown directory (if enabled in the GUI). On Solaris the default location is at
/var/adm/CSCOpx/files/rme/dcma/shadow

Syslog message on DUPLICATE ADDRESS event

hi,
I am working on two cisco routers. my rquirement is .. if i assign same address for two interfaces of different router, i have to receive DUPLICATE ADDRESS event. I was getting this syslog message, some months ago.
But now, when I try the same, I am not receiving any DUPLICATE ADDRESS event on the Router Terminal.
ex: Router 1 : Interface gigabitethernet 0/0 - ip address 192.168.100.1 mask 255.255.255.0
Router 2 : Interface gigabitethernet 0/0 - ip address 192.168.100.1 mask 255.255.255.0
in this case i should the syslog message. (DUPLICATE ADDRESS)
I was receiving such message, two months before.
now i dont know what is happening
I have to receive that syslog message for one of my project.

ACE : PROBE-FAILED and Syslog messages

Hi,
When a real server is in PROBE-FAILED status, I observe a syslog message at each trial of the proble. This fills our syslog server. Is there a mean to configure the ACE in such a way that a syslog message would be generated only when a transition occurs in the probe status ?

Hello,
You can utilize "logging trap " command and
"logging message level " command
in order to achive what you are seeking.
The "logging trap " command limits the logging messages sent to a syslog server based on severity.
If it is set to "5 - notification", all messages that have security level of 5 or lower number are sent to the syslog server.
You can disable the display of a specific syslog
message or change the severity level of a specific system log message using
"logging message level " command.
Not sure what kind of probe you are using but If it is ICMP probe and
the reason of probe failure is arp, it generates a message for every try
as below with severity level of 3, by default.

If your "logging trap " is set to "5 - notification" and you do not want
the message "%ACE-3-251009:xxx" to be sent to syslog server,
you can change its security level like below.
switch/Admin(config)# logging message 251009 level 6
switch/Admin(config)# do show logging message 251009
Message logging:
message 251009: current-level 6 default-level 3 (enabled)
You can check the message id that is filling the syslog server
and change its security level to higher number than "logging trap ".

RME (LMS 3.2) No detect Change Configuration automatically by Syslog Messages

I have a problem with the "change audit" for Syslog messages trigger. I set all my devices to send Syslog messages to the CiscoWorks server. When I make any changes to syslog message is sent correctly for the CiscoWorks server, but it does not start automatically collects configuration (config fetch).
Only when I start manually "sync archive" the configuration is stored and detected the change in configuration.
Has not changed anything in config fetch "to" Automated actions Syslog ".

You an check RME > Tools > Syslog > Automated Actions to verify nothing was changed.
Then display 'Config Fetch'. There is contextual help available:

Apple are currently trying to get less secure passwords updated. They require that your account passwords are at least eight characters long and contain both alpha and numeric characters and at least one upper case alpha character.

Not able to access Itunes store anymore. Just quit working for no reason. Since the new library gives you the same message log into another user account on your Mac and see if you can run iPhoto without getting that message. If you get that message there also a reinstall of iPhoto seems indicated. To do so you'll have to delete the current application and all files with "iPhoto" in the file name with either a .PKG or .BOM extension that reside in the HD/Library/Receipts folder and from the /var/db/receipts/ folder,

I fixed the problem.. but it was very, very strange. I had a very long section for credits and set the line spacing to 1.0.. for some reason this caused it. I removed it, and it worked fine. I put it back, and I couldn't preview or play the video.
I don't know why that could cause that big of a problem, but it did..

After phone support from apple I ended up creating a new project and adding all 117 clips back in individually till I found out what clips flagged and would not allow me to export. I had 3 I deleted and replaced and everything works now 1hr after tedious work....
