    Jeff,
    The SQL in the script file is below.  To be honest, I have reduced it down to a simple select from dual and it still puts extra spaces at the end of the single line.
    col ord noprint
    spool test.csv
    SELECT  ' ' ord,
      'ZONE_ORDER_NUMBER'||','||

  • NT 4.0, LabVIEW 6, Error 4 (END OF FILE) when trying to seek to byte offset 4096 (from start of file) when the file is larger than 2 Gig

    If I try to seek (or read) with the position mode wired and set for START, I get error 4 (END OF FILE) if the file is larger than 2 GB. I'm only trying to move the file pointer 4096 bytes, not trying to seek or read more than 2GB, but I get the error if the file is over 2Gig.
    Instead, I have to do reads, with the position mode unwired, until I get to the place in the file that I want to be.
    Is this expected behavior?

    Hello,
    LabVIEW File I/O functions use an I32 value to store the size of a file. This means that we are limited to ~2GB file sizes when using the File I/O functions in LabVIEW. This explains why you are seeing odd behavior when trying to read to the end of the file, since this is causing the byte count to exceed ~2GB.
    I hope this explanation sheds some light on the situation for you. Hopefully the workaround (repeated reads) is not too much of an inconvenience.
    Good luck with your application, and have a pleasant day.

  • Windows 7 SP1 PRO SMB2 Client Behaviour Quirk - Last SMB2 Query_Info request in compounded requests, contains 1 extra byte in the end after file_id

    Hi,
    From the specification, SMB2 Query Info is defined as -Query_Info {
        uint16_t structure_size;
        uint8_t info_type;
        uint8_t file_info_class;
        uint32_t output_buf_len;
        uint16_t input_buffer_off;
        uint16_t res;
        uint32_t input_buf_len;
        uint32_t additional_information;
        uint32_t flags;
        uint8_t file_id[16];
    I am looking at smb traffic between 2 Windows 7 Pro machines and I see that for SMB Query_Info Request records, for some compounded requests, the last Query_Info request has an extra byte after the 16 byte file_id.  This is only for SMB2 Query_Info
    requests.
    On checking Query_Info requests that are single(not compounded), I don't see this extra byte.
    I have attached images below from wireshark for both with and without this extra byte, from the same flow.
    Can we consider this a quirk of the windows client issuing Query_Info Compounded requests?
    Image1 - http://postimg.org/image/th8fubvuz <- As you can see, this is a comounded series of requests and the last requset which is a query_info request *HAS* an extra byte after the file_id.
    Image2 - http://postimg.org/image/kkp4adxe7/ <- As you can, this is a compounded series of requests and the last request which is a query_info request, DOES *NOT* HAVE an extra byte after the file_id unlike Image1
    Image3- http://postimg.org/image/5w7061vrr/ <- As you can see, this is a single Query_Info request, and we don't have the extra byte here after the file_id.

    We worked with cressnet and resolved these questions offline. Here is a summary of resolution.
    Regarding the comments on compounded messages with QueryInfo,
    this is not specific to QueryInfo.
    The receiver’s transport layer delivers the message to the SMB2 layer (server/redirector). The SMB2 PDU starts with its header. The PDU is casted and interpreted based on the SMB2 command. What matters is the message’s structure
    itself.
    The transport’s (e.g. Nbtss or SMBoverTCP) indicates the length of its payload. Each SMB2 message has a structure which may include some variable length fields. Padding is one element that may complement the message for alignment
    purpose. Any extra byte (s) that is not part of the SMB2 message fields would be irrelevant and ignored.
    Regarding the comments on ErrorData,
    the CHANGE_NOTIFY response packets look valid as documented in the [MS-SMB2] specification. In this particular case, even if the error is not a success code (i.e. STATUS_NOTIFY_ENUM_DIR), the response is an empty CHANGE_NOTIFY
    Response, rather than a standard ERROR Response.
    The exception cases that are not considered error messages are listed in [MS-SMB2] section 3.3.4.4. When in doubt, please consult the server processing of the specific SMB2 command.
    [MS-SMB2] 3.3.4.4 Sending an Error Response
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc246722.aspx
    When the server is responding with a failure to any command sent by the client, the response message MUST be constructed as described here. An error code other than one of the following indicates a failure:
    •         STATUS_MORE_PROCESSING_REQUIRED in an SMB2 SESSION_SETUP Response specified in section 2.2.6.
    •         STATUS_BUFFER_OVERFLOW in an SMB2 QUERY_INFO Response specified in section 2.2.38.
    •         STATUS_BUFFER_OVERFLOW in a FSCTL_PIPE_TRANSCEIVE, FSCTL_PIPE_PEEK or FSCTL_DFS_GET_REFERRALS Response specified in section 2.2.32.<190>
    •         STATUS_BUFFER_OVERFLOW in an SMB2 READ Response on a named pipe specified in section 2.2.20.
    •         STATUS_INVALID_PARAMETER in an FSCTL_SRV_COPYCHUNK or FSCTL_SRV_COPYCHUNK_WRITE response, when returning an SRV_COPYCHUNK_RESPONSE as described in section 3.3.5.15.6.2.
    •         STATUS_NOTIFY_ENUM_DIR in an SMB2 CHANGE_NOTIFY Response specified in section 2.2.36.
    [MS-SMB2] 3.3.5.19 Receiving an SMB2 CHANGE_NOTIFY Request
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc246747.aspx
    Change notification processing in the object store MUST be handled as specified in section 3.3.1.3. It is also outlined in [MS-CIFS] section 3.3.5.59.4.
    If the server is unable to copy the results into the buffer of the SMB2 CHANGE_NOTIFY Response, then the server MUST construct the response as described below, with an OutputBufferLength of zero, and set the Status in the SMB2
    header to STATUS_NOTIFY_ENUM_DIR.
    Thanks,
    Edgar

  • Extra bytes in data transfer when using VISA and C++ instead of LABVIEW

    Hello,
    I've a problem when I try to download the capture buffer from a spectrum analyzer with C++Builder and VISA.
    If I do that with LABVIEW (with VISA read and write) everything is fine. Instead, with C I get extra bytes in
    the stream. In particular whenever there is a '0A' in the stream I get also a '0D' before it. I'm using a GPIB-USB-B card from National. I know I could easily get rid of those extra bytes in my code, but I'd like a cleaner solution.
    Does anybody know the difference between the following code and LABVIEW VISA read and write routines?
    Is there some attributes I have to set in C which is automatically set in LABVIEW?
    Thanks a lot in advance!!
    Simone
    ViSession defaultRM, vi;
    viOpenDefaultRM (&defaultRM);
    viOpen (defaultRM, "GPIB0::10::INSTR", VI_NULL,VI_NULL, &vi);
    ViStatus err = viSetAttribute(vi, VI_ATTR_IO_PROT, VI_NORMAL);
    ViUInt32 retCount;
    err = viWrite(vi, "CGET?0,0\n", strlen("CGET?0,0\n"), &retCount);
    ViByte* buffer = new ViByte[100000];
    err = viRead(vi, (ViByte*)buffer, 100000, &retCount);
    FILE *fp;
    fp = fopen("data", "w");
    fwrite (buffer, retCount, sizeof(ViByte), fp);
    fclose(fp);
    viClose(defaultRM);
    viClose(vi);
    delete []buffer;

    Simone,
    this has to do with LabVIEW running on multiple platforms with different End-of-line signals.
    With Windows this is usually 0x0d0a, which is the ASCII control code for . Other platforms use typically just one of those characters; I believe with MacOS there used to be just a 0x0a and with Unix this might have been 0x0d.
    In order to avoid hazzles, the LabVIEW develloper decided to convert the platform-specific End-of-line signals into a LabVIEW-internal character (which is 0x0a) when reading strings and back when sending strings out of LabVIEW.
    So, your device sends out 0xd0a and LabVIEW removes the 0x0d. Everything is OK.
    Greetings from Germany!
    Uwe

  • Some extra bytes appended to the http response by GzipResponseStream

    My project needs to open pdf in browser. But the IE tells me that the file cannot be open by default program. It is either corrupted or has a incorrect filetype. And IE tries to download it.
    I trace the http response by HttpWatch and find the content type is "application/pdf" which seems correct. And then I notice that there are some extra bytes in the http resposne. I use a servlet to retrieve the pdf file. The last few bytes of the http response are "%%EOF\n\r\n0\r\n\r\n". The last seven bytes "\r\n0\r\n\r\n" are the extra ones. I suspect these bytes are added by GzipResponseStream according to my debug result. But I dont have the source code so I am not sure.
    If I do not use servlet but get the pdf file directly the http response will end with "%%EOF\n" and IE can open it successfully.
    And I checked all responses from servlet they all have the extra seven bytes. Sometimes it cause the IE crash.
    I appreciate if anyone can tell me what the problem is.

    This is not a problem. I never know it is the chunked encoding of http protocol.

  • Convrtd to Invterval Part- ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel

    Hi all,
    I had a table as Interval Partitioned. In order to create XML- Xpath indexes on it, I converted it to Range Partitioned table.
    I am able to create the XPATH indexes but I get the error: ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel
    - When I revert the code to Interval Partitioned without the XMLIndex, it works fine(although takes time as no XML Index)
    - When I convert table to non partitioned table, create the XML Index, it works fine.
    But I need the partitons, so when I create the partitioned table I get the error.

    Hi,
    I think it's time you give a clear (and working) test case so that we can safely try to reproduce the issue.
    What you've given so far has syntax error and name mismatch.
    So please :
    - database version (SELECT * FROM v$version)
    - complete sequence of DLLs
    - some sample XML documents (it doesn't have to be the real ones, but at least something realistic)
    Thanks in advance.

    declare namespace xyz="XYZA";

    If so, you can use a simple function-based index instead of the XMLIndex :
    SQL> drop index int_part_table_uix;
    Index dropped.
    SQL> create index int_part_table_ix1 on int_part_table (

    Index created.
    SQL> SELECT xml_message

      3  WHERE XMLCast(
      4          XMLQuery('/main/id' PASSING xml_message RETURNING CONTENT)

      6        )
      7  IN ('144283', '9085802');

  • Create end of file character in email attachment

    Hi all,
    Currently I am attaching a text file to the email send using FM 'SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1'.
    But here the issue is, in attachment file there are extra 3 blank lines are getting filled which client does't want.
    Is there any way to generate end of file character, to add after all rows got filled in internal table?
    Or is there any way to not to filled blank lines at the end of the file?
    Please advise a solution.
    Thanks and Regards
    Nishad

    Hi,
    gs_packinglist-doc_size =  gf_count * 255 .
    This is how I am passing the doc_size. In the above, gf_count is the number rows in attachment file that I am multiplying with 255 characters as I am passing attachment in contents_bin parameter.
    Thanks and regards
    Nishad

    Hi,
    Looks like your archivelog space is exhausted. Increase the db_recovery_file_dest_size size and check.
    SQL>  show parameter db_recovery

  • Empty file handling in Receiver File adapter (FCC - Premature end of file)

    Hi
    My interface is Flat file to Flat File interface with file content conversion which is working fine in SAP PI 7.1 EHP1.
    If I want to process the empty file from sender system, PI should place the same empty file in the receiver FTP Location as per my requirement.
    I am facing the below error message when PI tries to place the empty file.
    Message processing failed. Cause: org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: Premature end of file.
    But if I am not using FCC, I am able to get the empty file at the receiver end.
    Please suggest on this, If I am using FCC in the receiver side.
    Thanks
    Gabriel

    Hi Gabriel,
                       You can write a simple script to copy a file from source folder to target in case the fiel size is ZERO bytes. The script will not copy the file if the filesize is more than zero bytes, This will be processed normally by PI server. You can call the script from sender communication channel parameter : "RUN OS command before message processing". Could you please specify the Operating System (OS) you are using in your PI server.
    Regards
    Anupam

  • File Download results with corrupted file. End of File problem

    Hello
    I am tring to make a download program. I am tring to download an exe file from internet. Lets say the file in this website
    http://www.oldversion.com/download/winrar154.exe
    The part that helps me downloading is here, which is encapsulated with a "while" statement at an upper layer. So that code is a loop
                                 byte buffer[];
                                 if (size - downloaded > MAX_BUFFER_SIZE) {
                                     buffer = new byte[MAX_BUFFER_SIZE];
                                 } else {
                                     buffer = new byte[size - downloaded];
                                 // Read from server into buffer.
                                 int read = inFromServer.read(buffer);
                                 if (read == -1)
                                     break;
                                 // Writing buffer to file below that partBut when there is no bytes left to download, it doesn't understand that end of file reached. The inFromServer.read method must return -1 whenever it reaches to an end of file, but in my code it continues looping within my "while" statement because it doesn't understand end of file has came, read becames 0 after there is no bytes left to download. It doesn't see that end of file is reached. And when download ends, the exe that I made is not working. By the way since this is my homework I am restricted to use many java classes like starts with http or url, so you don't need to suggest them. Here is my debug results for my integer read in the code: 1024 1024 1024 ....................... 512 0 0 0 0 0 ......, So till the end of the file it continues as 1024 which is my default buffer size, and at the end it continues as 0.
    I would be happy if you help me.

    There's a terrible amount of rubbish in this thread.
    while(myStream.read(buffer) != -1){ //this will give the pretest you need for the eof.
    //your stuff.
    } This is rubbish because the return value isn't stored, so you don't know how much data was returned if EOS didn't occur.
    If you're getting reads of length 0... you must have a bug in your code. read() methods do not return zero except via NIO in non-blocking mode.
    if you get 10 0's in a rowYou can't even get one 0 in a row, see above.
    int read = inFromServer.read(buffer);
    if (read == 0)And again. This cannot occur.
    The correct way to download a file, or indeed copy any input stream, is as follows:
    int count;
    byte[] buffe r= new byte[8192]; // or more
    while ((count = in.read(buffer)) > 0)
      out.write(buffer, 0, count);
    out.close();
    in.close();

    Did you actually read the alert-log ??
    The problem is clear in there. Your datafiles are corrupted!!!
    While the database is trying to correct these, a lot of ORA-00600 and ORA-07445's are generated.
    Consult Oracle Support to get this resolved
    Thanks
