Acrobat 7 only creates empty pages.

I have XP, Acrobat 7, and an extreme amount of frustration.
I have been attempting for several weeks to create a PDF file, and every single attempt has ended up with nothing but blank pages. I have no idea what to do, nor can I think of a way to explain any more clearly than to say that every PDF file I have ever attempted to create has ended up being comprised of nothing but completely empty, blank pages.
I would appreciate any and all help figuring out what to do.

The "don't send fonts" works fine in most cases. It is just that the fonts are not embedded in the intermediate PS file and that when Distiller process the PS file to create the PDF it simply looks for the fonts on your system.
The "standard settings" file is the default and it does not embed all of the fonts in the PDF. That is why I suggested using on of the settings files that has press or print in the title. You can always change back later. In fact, if you make this change in the print menu of the application, it will go back to the previous choice once you close the application. To make a permanent change to the printer options, you have to make the change in the printer preference on the START menu. I think that PDF Maker may retain the selection, but not the printer itself.
The settings file listed on the settings tab of the printer properties sets the embedding of fonts, graphics conversion, and such.
You might also try some different fonts in your original file. If the font is not properly licensed, it will not embed in the PDF, even if you request it.
You can also uncheck or check the button related to keeping the log file after successful conversion to PDF. Then you can look at the log file (simply text that can be viewed in Notepad) and see if there were any warnings for the conversion.
Since you are having problems with WORD, try a different package for conversion. Try to print something to the Adobe PDF printer from your browser and see if you get blank pages. There is always the chance you have something messed up in WORD. You could also try to print from WORD to a regular printer.
Please be patient and try some things. We generally suggest the things we would try if we where there. It is a matter of trouble shooting until your find the source. At this point you are assuming it is an Acrobat issue, but could indeed be a WORD problem. Thus isolating the problem is important at this point. That includes going to the most basic process for conversion. If you have a PS file from some other package, you might try Distiller on that file to see if you get an acceptable PDF.

  • Acrobat Pro XI Create PDF from web page will only create first page.

    Whether I try from within Acrobat or using the convert button on the Adobe toolbar my PDF cuts off at the bottom of page one and will not create subsequent pages including the rest of the webpage content.  I've played with several settings.  Any idea why?

    I think I might have this problem too. Only difference is I am using Acrobat Standard. I have Acrobat Standard X on another pc and it works fine. An example of a web site page is https://connectonline.asic.gov.au/RegistrySearch/faces/landing/SearchRegisters.jspx?_adf.c trl-state=1766qhwwjv_4 I am in Australia. I hope you have access to this page where ever you are. Towards the bottom of the web page, there is a list of 3 documents. On my other pc, I can convert to pdf the whole page but on this pc, I only get one page.

  • Firefox does not correctly print - creates empty pages and cuts of content when printing

    When trying to print out pages Firefox first prints a lot of empty pages, and then only a part of the content. Example:
    https://online.medunigraz.at/mug_online/wbTvw_List.lehrveranstaltung?pStpSpNr=182778
    When entering "print prview" you can see empty pages.
    When printing this page with Internet Explorer all is fine.

    Thanks for this hint, but it does not help.
    This problem does not appear in Internet Explorer, and it should be reproduceable. At least I thought so, so it would help if others could try to click on the link and try to print. They should have the same troubles.

    I also attach a Screenshot so that you can see how the Print Preview looks like.

  • Acrobat 9 Only Prints One Page

    I recently upgraded to Acrobat 9 Pro Extended from Acrobat 8 and I'm having a printing problem with it.
    When I try to print a PDF, it only prints the last page of the file, regardless of what I set in the print dialog. If I click All Pages, it automatically sets the page range to 1-1, and there's no way to change it.
    This is happening with two printers I have: Lexmark 4600 series and HP 4200 series. I've found this problem listed by many people in this forum, http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.59b65bf5, but none of the solutions suggested are working for me.
    The print dialog boxes, Advanced tabs, have their PostScript options all grayed out, so I'm not able to change the Font and resource policy dropdown box to say "send for each page," which is what has been suggested. I tried changing the Settings dropdown from Acrobat Default to Custom, but the PostScript options are still grayed out.
    In this knowledgebase article, http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb405589, it says "Note: Your printer drivers must be PostScript capable to use this procedure." How do I find out if my printers are PS capable? And if they're not, does it make sense that they worked fine with every previous version of Acrobat, including Acrobat 8? These aren't particularly old printers -- I just bought one of them a few months ago.
    Thank you.
    Elizabeth

    I am also having the same issue. It only seems to occur with a specific printer. I am currently having an issue with a Dell 5300 printer using a Post Script Driver. I can print to any other printer in the network just fine.

  • Converting a pdf file to a new pdf file acrobat 9s only creates a ps file.

    Using win7 with adobe acrobat 9 standard. This is a new problew. With a pdf file open, and wanting to create a new pdf file using the print function with Adobe PDF as the prnter, I can no longer "print" the file to a new pdf file. Adobe "print to file" dialog box only provides the file type as a "ps" file. I have been using acrobat 9s without a problem. This is a new issue that just appeared today. See below - it won't allow me to print to a new pdf file. How can this be corrected?

    Make sure the Print to File option in the Print dialog is ticked off.

  • Acrobat 8 only creates *.log

    Our company tries to produce internal invoices from our SAP System only as PDF. To this end we created ca. 40 different Adobe PDF Ports (= each another path for each internal customer).
    At first we tried Acrobat 8 Prof., but it worked only on about 90% of all print jobs. The rest produced a log file with always the same content:
    %%[ ProductName: Distiller ]%%
    %%[ Error: undefined; OffendingCommand: G2UBegin ]%%
    Stack:
    /Font
    /TTE16F71D8t00
    %%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%%
    %%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ] %%
    This problem is reproducable on 2 workstations with Acrobat 8 for always the same invoices.
    So I just installed Acrobat 6 Prof. on a third Workstation, and there 100% of all print jobs work.
    Of course what I really want is Acrobat 8 doing it...
    (It's already updated to 8.12)
    Any ideas ?

    It looks like you have a font that can not be embedded. Check the font names you are using to see if they match part of the message. You can ask the printer to ignore the errors and create a PDF anyway and then just check to be sure the PDF is OK.

  • "Blank page" text on automatically created empty pages

    I want "blank page" text to appear automatically on any page that FrameMaker_8 adds to create an even pagecount. Is this possible?

    > Is there no way to tell FM8 which master page to use for an automatically created left last page?
    Nope, unless you want to have the default MP "Left" laid out as a TPILB (This Page Intentionally Left Blank). That also requires creating a new "Left.Content" MP, and making sure that a critical mass of commonly used Paragraph Formats are mapped to it or "Right".
    What FM needs, and doesn't have, is a notation for the MasterPageMappingTable that controls what happens when there is no Flow A or other user generated content for a page.
    Back in the real world, always first work Plan 0, which is to talk management or the customer out of requiring TPILBs in the first place.
    TPILBs: I know how to do 'em. Glad we don't need 'em here.

  • Merge pdf - Empty page

    Guys,
    I am trying to merge some pdf files into one file. This is my code
    - (BOOL) concateFiles:(NSArray *) filePaths {
        PDFDocument * outputDocument = [[PDFDocument alloc] init];
        NSUInteger pageIndex = 0;
        for (id file in filePaths) {
            PDFDocument * inputDocument = [[PDFDocument alloc] initWithURL: [NSURL fileURLWithPath:file]];
            for (NSUInteger page = 0; page < [inputDocument pageCount]; page ++ ) {
                [outputDocument insertPage: [inputDocument pageAtIndex:page] atIndex:pageIndex++ ];
        //BOOL done = [outputDocument writeToFile: @"/Users/bubuzzz/test.pdf"]; // does not work
        NSError *error = nil;
        NSString * filePath=@"/Users/bubuzzz/test.pdf";
        NSData * data = [outputDocument dataRepresentation];
        BOOL done = [data writeToFile:filePath options:NSDataWritingAtomic error:&error]; // does not work either
        NSLog(@"Write returned error: %@", [error localizedDescription]);
        return done;
    There is no error during run time. However, the created file only has empty page, though the number of page is correct. The only thing I find out is using CGPDFContextClose to close the context to make it work fine, since it is stated in the document
    After closing the context, all pending data is written to the context destination, and the PDF file is completed. No additional data can be written to the destination context after the PDF document is closed.
    However, I have no idea how to integrate the CGPDFContextClose into my code. Any suggestion, please?

    Just change the above code to do a page by page vopy like yours and it works
    #import <Foundation/Foundation.h>
    #import <Quartz/Quartz.h>
    int main(int argc, const char * argv[])
        @autoreleasepool {
            // insert code here...
            PDFDocument * inputDocument;
            PDFDocument * outputDocument = [[PDFDocument alloc] init];
            NSUInteger pageIndex = 0;
            NSURL * pdfFile = [NSURL  fileURLWithPath:@"/Users/frank/Desktop/Hold/TX-SR304_En_0124.pdf"];
            // open old PDF
            if ((inputDocument = [[PDFDocument alloc] initWithURL: pdfFile]) == NULL) {
                NSLog(@"error opening");
                return 0;
            // copy old PDF to new PDF
            //outputDocument = inputDocument;
            for (NSUInteger page = 0; page < [inputDocument pageCount]; page ++ ) {
                [outputDocument insertPage: [inputDocument pageAtIndex:page] atIndex:pageIndex++ ];
            //write new PDF
            [outputDocument writeToFile:@"/Users/frank/Desktop/Hold/testCard.PDF"];
        return 0;
    When this is done testCard.PDF has the contents of the input file.

  • I can only print 1 page can somebody help

    I can only print 1 page can somebody help
    sl

    I have the same problem with my HP C6380 MY8CJ880F6. For me it is +80% of what I am printing I only get 1 page and has to print the rest 1 by 1. The problem is 6 month old and I have tried almost everything except the right solution ;-}
    Setup Windows 7, 64 bit (Danish). Wireless communication.
    I have tried reinstalling, use HP diagnostics and a lot of other things. Diagnostics says everything is fine. Microsoft Fix It diagnostics says the same about the Windows 7 printer support functions.
    My other printer a HP Designjet 111 runs perfect. When I am out of office I use other printers no problems. But the HP C6380 will in most applications especially Acrobat Reader only print 1 page at a time.
    I have tried to change the printer into factory settings that sometimes do the trick for the Microsoft Office 10 products installed but not for Acrobat. Most of my documents are PDF so either i get the fixed or I will have to invest in another printer.
    Any body with a solution ?
    BR Erik

  • Block Corruption in empty pages in Oracle 11g

    I am using Oracle 11.1.0.7.1 on HP UNIX 11i.
    On several occasions, I have been seen that block corruptions are reported by rman. I have never seen this problem in previous release of databases; but I have seen it more than once in Oracle 11g.
    However, when I run dbv command; I do not see any corruption in data and index blocks; so my conclusion is block corruption is in empty pages.
    Anyone has ideas why block corruption occurs in Oracle 11g. Has Oracle’s algorithm for checking block corruption have changed in 11g; I.e.; these corruptions existed in older Oracle releases but not reported by rman,
    Another strange thing I noticed:
    1.     When doing export backup, export backup reports about corrupted blocks.
    2.     When I do expdp no errors are reported.
    So question is why is exp command checking empty blocks?
    Any insights in above will be appreciated.

    Can some one explain following ooutput from dbv; what is difference in
    total pages failing and corrupt pages. I see
    total pages marked corrupt as 1345; yet I do not see any data or index
    pages marked corrupt; and there is only 1 empty page. So where are
    those 1345 corrupt pages.

  • Acrobat crashes when creating a PDF from a web page

    Whenever I ask Acrobat to create a PDF from a web page, it crashes halfway through the process.  Here is an example from the BBC:-
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-19585341
    Printing to PDF from the browser does not produce an accurate document.  The font is too big, and most of the pictures do not appear.
    I use Acrobat X Pro version 10.1.4.
    This is a PC problem.  On the Mac it works.

    The problem I mentioned is peculiar to Acrobat 10 and also to my PC.  On a Mac I can create PDF's from webpages normally.
    I also notice that when printing to PDF from Opera only the first page comes out.  (Using Firefox all pages are printed to PDF.)
