Action on alv table dropdown field

Hello Gurus,
i have alv table with some fields .in that one field is dropdown contains YES and NO values.if i select YES value for that field i
need to set some fields in editable mode in that same row or else if i select NO value those fields are in greyout.
this is my requirement.how can i achive this requirement.could you suggest me on this.could you send me sample code or
reference links if poosible.
Could anyone please suggest solutions?
and if possible send me the sample code for this requirement.

Create a context attribute READ_ONLY in the node to whcih the ALV is bound.
Implement the column settings.
For those columns which you want to make them enable/disbale for those columns
create a input field CL_SALV_WD_UIE_INPUT_FIELD for that alv config object CL_SALV_WD_CONFIG_TABLE.
there are many thread on the same please search SCN.
data lo_config type ref to cl_salv_wd_config_table. "model object
* GET THE MODEL OBJECT USING CODE WIZARD
*GET THE COLUMN SETTINGS GET_COLUMNS of IF_SALV_WD_COLUMN_SETTINGS of CL_SALV_WD_CONFIG_TABLE
* LOOP AT THESE COLUMNS and create an INPUT field for those columns to enable/disbale

I tried to create a dropdown by index cell in a table with different valuesets in each row. So I created an attribute VALUESET of type WDR_CONTEXT_ATTR_VALUE_LIST in my node to provide different valuesets per element. In my ALV-table I bound the property "valueset_fieldname" of the dropdown-cell to the context-attribute VALUESET:
lo_column = lo_alv_model>if_salv_wd_column_settings~get_column( id = 'PRICE').
CREATE OBJECT lo_drop_down_idx
    EXPORTING
      selected_key_fieldname = u2018PRICEu2019.

Now I have the problem, that the list of the dropdown-cell displays the proper amount of values but not the proper texts . My valueset looks for example like this:

But my Dropdown-cell shows these values:
A
A
A
D

thank you for your answer. I think there might be an other reason for this problem. When I debug the view with the Webdynpro-Debugger the valueset in the context contains the correct values but the dropdown shows wrong values.
You also sent me a link with a codesample. In this coding you use the following statement:
lr_drp_idx->set_texts( 'VALUESET'   ). This is a method of the class CL_WD_DROPDOWN_BY_IDX. I used the class cl_salv_wd_uie_dropdown_by_idx as I'm working with an ALV-Table. This class doesn't have the method set_texts. Instead it has a method called 'set_valueset_fieldname'. Maybe this method has a bug?

ALV Grid - more than six values in a dropdown-field?

Hi,
I have realised an alv grid with several fields that contain a dropdown-field as valuehelp.
Although the dropdown-table has e.g. 20 entries there are shown only six entries on the alv grid. The user has to scroll through the values to choose another one. Is it possible to increase the number of shown entries of a dropdown-field on an alv grid?

you can specify the output length of a column in the fieldcatalog by specifying this filed in your fieldcatalog slis_fieldcat-outputlen .
And also one parameter i.e. slis_layout_alv-colwidth_optimize ,if you put this parameter as 'X' then it will optimize the column width depending on the content of your column.
You need to set the OUTPUTLEN field in the feildcat, the field catalog is then passed to the ALV function call, or method call.

How to get selected-value of dropdown-field in alv ?

I have a alv-table with dropdown-field.
When I open the dropdown I am able to select another value.
Now I use method ON_CLICK with ON_CELL_ACTION, and when
I change value in my alv, system jumps into this mehtod.
But how do I get now the selected dropdown value in this method ?

Displaying default value for a field in ALV table

Hai all,
     I am having an ALV table in which I want to display Requisition number by default using a value which i generated randomly and it is stored in a variable.
While displaying ALV table my req number field should display that value by default when ever user is inserting a row( all the coloumns n my alv are editable.
Is it possible??

How to Populate a Dropdown field for a table control with different keys

Hi All,
I have Table control with abt eight columns (fields). Out of these eight field one field is with dropdown list. In table control Project ID is Primary key column. Depending upon this Project ID value, i have different values which is to be populated in dropdown boxes. In table control if there is only one project ID value say 'P000715' i can populate it but when i have more than one project ID (P000715, p000716, P000717.....) in display in rows of table control i want to have different values in my dropdown field corresponding to that row of project id. Experts please tell me how to achieve this functionality.

The only way you may be able to do this is using
MODULE PROCESS ON VALUE-REQUEST. User-programmer F4 help
in your PAI routine.
In this routine you would build the list and get the returned value to update the field.
Something like this.

F4 help for ALV table field

Hi Experts,
I need to implement F4 help for ALV table field.
I my scenario, I am using two views. If we click on any record in fist view then it displays the popup window (second view) with relevant record details.
Here one of the columns having fieldnames corresponding values (old values), for correcting old values I have created new value editable column, we can enter new value for old value then we can save it. Till this functionality is ok.
Then I have included OVS help for new value field. Here I need to get f4 help for newvalue field relevant to fieldname.
For example: user clicks on f4 in cell (new value) then if corresponding fieldname is u2018WERKSu2019 then it shows the plant values
Here I can get fieldname, domain name and value table using method set_attribute ().
Same concept I have implemented in ALV using F4IF_FIELD_VALUE_REQUEST. It is working fine
Here I have little bit confusion. Please advise me how to implement in OVS.

How to create alv table dynamically by performing action on the button.

1) show alv table
2) close alv table
if user selects show alv table then the alv table should be displayed.

ALV table will be shown in the viewcontainerUI element.
it is shown there empty if you dont fill the node bound to the data node of the interface controller of the comp usage
SALV_WD_TABLE.
and if you are not getting the table filled in the first place.
then check have you mapped the DATA node to some node in the comp controller
wht basically is your requirment is that you want to show ALV gird on click of one button and delete it on click of other button.
there are many ways to do so.
best way is control the visiblity of the viewcontainer UI element which containes the TABLE view of SALV_WD_table comp.
create an attribute of type WDUI_VISIBILITY name say VIS.
now go to the layout and bound hte visible property of the viewcontainer to this attribute VIS.
then in the showalv grid button's eventhandler write
wd_context->set_attribute(
name = 'VIS'
value = '02'
and in the wddoinit and delete alv grid button's event handler write
wd_context->set_attribute(
name = 'VIS'
value = '01'

              How can I get one column of ALV table as dropdown and editable. If user wants to change that column value he can just select from that dropdown and click on update button. Can I provide tool tip to that column as " Select from drop down to change the status "?

You just need to change the cell editor of that column in ALV.
So first get access to the alv model object (adjusting the code below for your ALV Component Usage name - mine was ALV_ADV):

IF l_ref_cmp_usage->has_active_component( ) IS INITIAL.

l_salv_wd_table = wd_this->wd_cpifc_alv_adv( ).

Then access the column object you want to change:
DATA l_column TYPE REF TO cl_salv_wd_column.
l_column = l_table->if_salv_wd_column_settings~get_column( 'REGION' ).
Then create the cell editor for DDLB and set it as the new cell editor for this column:
DATA ddlb TYPE REF TO cl_salv_wd_uie_dropdown_by_key.

At run time,ALV table is displaying all fields of database table

I done one application using ALv I am displaying the ALV Table.my problem is at run time it was fetching and displaying all the fields in the data base table but i need only the fields which are defined in node.

May be you have specified the database table as the Dicitonary structure property of the node.
Check the same and if its there clear the Dictionary structure property of the node.

ALV Table - inhibit 'View' dropdown, filter button and settings button

Can someone tell me what methods need to be used to modify an ALV table to inhibit the showing of the functioniality in the header? I want to introduce this functionality to the users at a later date, but for now it should look like a standard table.

You can set individual functions with these methods:

Edit a sorted field in ALV table

Hello everybody,
I am using a ALV with input fields to edit the containing data.
When I set a column to sort than the entries are grouped together.
But now I can only change the first grouped entry and not the entry in the second or third line! So can i deactivate this grouping feature? Or how is it possible to edit every line in a sorted column, without to remove the sorting rule?

But with:

                  i am new for webdynpro for ABAP.i strucked at one point at designing time.anybody could you suggest me on this.

in my webdynpro for ABAP developement i have one alv table having ten fields.i am featching the data for eight fields from one Ztabale and updating , for rest of two fields we need to fill after displaying output using the respective F4 help. Right now these two fields are in input editable mode.now i am getting the values successfully from F4 help and at the same time it is allowing MANUAL ENTRIES also but as per my requirement it should not allow any manual entries . for this i have made these two fields are in readonly mode as like as rest of fields to avoid the MANUAL ENTRIES but at this time i didnot get any F4 helpfor those two fields.
so how can i achive my goal in this thing could any one suggest me.
my final conclusion is we need to get only F4 help values into those two fields . it should not allow any manual values at any point of time.
