ADAPTER_NAME_INVALID

HI,
We are doing a JDBC-XI-RFC scenario and when we send a test message in SXMB_MONI on the receiver side we see the following error
<SAP:Category>XIServer</SAP:Category>
  <SAP:Code area="INTERNAL">ADAPTER_NAME_INVALID</SAP:Code>
  <SAP:P1 />
  <SAP:P2>PLSRV_CALL_ADAPTER</SAP:P2>
  <SAP:P3 />
  <SAP:P4 />
  <SAP:AdditionalText />
  <SAP:ApplicationFaultMessage namespace="" />
  <SAP:Stack>Unknown receiver adapter (name = )</SAP:Stack>
  <SAP:Retry>M</SAP:Retry>
  </SAP:Error>
Did any body come across this ? What could be the issue ?
Thanks
Sunil

Thanks for the reply Moothy.
I refreshed the cache and still in the SXMB_MONI the message says ADAPTER_NAME_INVALID as before. In the Adpater monitor I do see the file adapter with no errors.
And here what I found out from the SXMB_MONI of the call adapter tab. As you can see the user is showing as me instead of "XIAFUSER". This might be the reason why I am getting this error. But I am not sure where I have to change ?

    Hello,
    In XI use the transaction SXMB_IFR or in your Web Client use the URL : http://<XIServer>:50000/rep/start/index.jsp
    Then click on "Integration Directory" to launch Java Web Start.
    Then click on "Objects" tab and select in "Service without party" your Business system or service, ... In communication Channel you can see your adapter definition and change the "Adapter engine" definition.
    I am not sure to understand your question, is it the good answer ?
    Regards,
    Chris

    Hi Adil
    Have you tried out the solution provided by Nisar Khan in the thread below. It looks similar to your case.

    Here is another case similar to yours. You need to check if your SLD and cache are ok.

  • RFC Adapter Problem: Adapter Engine Field Blank

    Hi,
    I want to invoke a BAPI defined on a R/3 system. I am trying to create a RFC Adapter in the Integration Directory by creating a communication channel.
    The problem I am facing is that when I define the Adapter Type as RFC, the Adapter Engine dropdown list is blank and it does not contain any entries.
    On passing a document through XI, I can see the following error in the monitor:
    <SAP:Code area="INTERNAL">ADAPTER_NAME_INVALID</SAP:Code>
      <SAP:P1>RFC</SAP:P1>
      <SAP:P2>PLSRV_CALL_ADAPTER</SAP:P2>
      <SAP:P3 />
      <SAP:P4 />
      <SAP:AdditionalText />
      <SAP:ApplicationFaultMessage namespace="" />
      <SAP:Stack>Unknown receiver adapter (name = RFC)</SAP:Stack>
    what do i need to configure on the XI and R/3 side ?
    thanks,
    Manish

    i followed the steps but i am not getting the populated adapter engine list.
    Actually, the Association shows a list of logical systems to be added (Application System, BC Application Server, BC Central Server Instance .....). I experimented with many systems but it is not working.
    My basic problem is I need to call a BAPI from XI. The XI monitor shows the error :
    Adapter Name Invalid.
    Unknown Receiver Adapter (name=RFC).
    Now, for the RFC adapter, I have not given it any name. My Communication Channel is called GeneratedChannelRFC.  I am not sure where this error is coming from. I would appreciate any help to solve this error.
    thanks,
    Manish

  • Invalid Adapter Name

    Hello Experts,
    I found some posts on this but they did not serve the purpose.
    We had a newly installed ECC5.0 system with XI,
    We uploaded JDBC drivers through SDM tool.
    We are trying for a IDOC2JDBC Scenario and it is the first
    In the communication channel definition, when we select adapter other than IDOC,HTTP
    there is no entry in the Adapter engine, which is mandatory.
    once the sceanrio definition is completed, the IDOC status in SXMB_MONI says "ADAPTER_NAME_INVALID" ...(JDBC)
    Some body crossed this problem ..already, help me ...
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,
    Sai.k.k

    Hi Michal,
    1)
    <u>Problem</u> : The problem entry could not found for Adapter engine=integration server in communication channel definition is solved.
    <u>solution</u> :
    a) At first we could not get any adapters list, for which our guys uploaded some files for "JPR" with which the JPR turned green from red.
    b) Later we came to know that the technical system created for JPR is not mentioned as "integration server" once we changed, it worked fine.
    Thus with (a) we could get adapters list & with (b) we could get entry in adapter engine field.
    we uploaded sql drivers (3 .jar) files packed as .sda through SDM tool then it said drivers already exist with same or version higher than this,  but when we run the scenario it says SAPClassNotFoundException:
    after several attempts, we used ODBCDriver (Created DSN at XI host) and it is sucessful.
    can you tell me where exactly the problem with the SQL drivers uploaded ...
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sai.k.k
