Add a character to end of text field

I'm looking for a script that will add a character to the end of all text fields in a document. Or one that adds it to a single text field that I could add to all my text fields.
The reason is that our end client will be copying and pasting text from the PDF and entering it into another system and it needs to maintain the line breaks at the end of the line. We thought this would be the safest route as it eliminates the potential for human error if someone doesn't enter it manually.
I was playing around with fieldFull commands but can't seem to get anything to work. I thought something like…
if(event.fieldFull) { getField(myfieldname).value = ":\n" }
but that's not working at all; mostly due to my lack of programming expertise, I'm sure. Any help would be awesome.

Thanks for the quick response. That's a great question that I don't really have an answer for from a requirements stand point.
What we have is an end-user tool that only allows a certain amount of characters per line and only a certain amount of lines. So we're faking some of this by having a single text field represent a single line with a character counter set on it and a max character limit set as well. Then theres a script running that focuses you to the next field as you've filled out each one. We just want to make sure that at the very end there's a hard return added to every line (text field) so when our client copies and pastes this it holds the formatting. Make sense?
I guess whatever would be easiest is my best response to you. Maybe when they exit the field would make sense?

How do I limit the character count in a text field?

I'm creating a form for co-workers to use when creating web content. I need to restrict their character count for items like headlines, titles, subtitles, etc. Any suggestions on a ready-made form to use out there? And how can I limit those fields so they don't generate content that will then need to be edited down?

IN OBIEE How to change Writeback input text field into textarea?

I've got writeback working, OBIEE 10.1.3.3, but I want a 255 character in that writeback text field with word wrapping. because we Can't see to get input
type text to wrap, is it possible to change input type="text" to input type="textarea" for a writeback column?
I tried to included Html with javascript code in Writeback column properties under CSS custom option.it's also not working

1) i have cheked you link there is no word Wrapping output, I want to view my writeback filed morethan one line ,is there any way to set instead Horizondal and vertical bar in that writeback filed. like Auto extending TestArea (it have Scrolling bar).
2) Onemore thing also required,once i gave maximum length of WriteBack field 255 characters. but is not controlling it's allowing morethan 255 characters.kindly tell me how to control the lenth of the writeback field .
Note: I am using SQL server DB,in DB and BI Answres writeback column properties i given 255 characters only but it's allowing morethan 255 characters.

It's bug in obiee-writeback,it's resolved
by using external java-jsp application then it will resolved.

Text Field is Blank in Transaction F-28

Hi Experts,
There is a requirement to add to the current layout the text field in F-28 transaction code. However, when I add them as an administrator, The text field is blank. We already maintained the text field in both Accounting Document Line item and in the Invoice but still the text field is blank. Where can we find the value of text field in the documents shown in F-28. Are there any configuration to do this?

Ok. Currently they had this problem on tagging which Invoices to be considered for payment clearance in tcode F-28. Their current process is every Ship-To-Party, they also equate it as one project code with the location of the project information,etc. They are using this ever since the first implementation. So in their process, they go to FBL5N to check those invoices created before going to F-28. In FBL5N, I incorporated the text field there (filled by user-exit display) which also came from the accounting document. But it's not correct since they are using the ship-to-party value in F-28.
So we tested by manual input directly the Ship-To-Party Code to Acc Doc Line Item Text Field. It went to FBL5N, as showing the value there but in F-28 it is not showing.
Do you have any solution for this? Since during payment in F-28, I think these entries are already Acc Doc Entries and Ship-To-Party is not reflected here but Payer only (coming from the invoice).

Adding current date to text field w/ Javascript in Acrobat 8

I am trying to add the current date to a text field using javascript in Acrobat 8 Professional. I am using the util.printd function in a javascript function but the date of creation shows in the text field, NOT today's date. Any clues??

Thanks. I've used it also without the empty value check and had the same result of showing the creation date and not the current date.

Can I limit the number of words in text fields?

I am creating a fillable form using Adobe Acrobat XI. I know how to limit the character count in a text field, but my client would prefer that the field limit the actual number of words. Is there a way to do this?

Need help creating actionListener for an array of text fields

I am working on a school project, so I am very new to Java. I have a program which is basically a unit converter. Each unit type has its own tab. I was able to dynamically create text fields in each tab and now I need to add actionListener to each of those text fields. Probelm is, the text fields are not really unique. I guess they're only unique within their tab. So now I am having difficulty referring to my text fields. If you look at my actionListener in the code below, I am trying to refer to it as unitTFs[0].getText() and that's not working. Please help. Thanks in advance.

Variables only have scope in the method (or block) in which they are created. That means if you create a variable in one function, you can't use it in another.
If you want to use a variable in two different functions, you have to make it a member variable.

Trying to add a flowable/expandable text field to the end of a form

I have created a form in LiveCycle Designer. At the end of that form, I would like a Summary text box that expands to allow the person who is filling out the form to type as much information as is necessary and it will all be visible/print when they are done. I have the field to the point where it will expand (finally!) but I have requested that the field allow page breaks (including all subforms it is contained within) but when it expands, it all carries over to the next page and doesn't allow us to go beyond one page of typing. Is there anyway to remedy this situation so the text will actually "flow" from one page to another instead of just carrying it over?

I appreciate you replying to my post and maybe this is just that I have never used the forum before but your reply said that you hoped the sample document would help me and I don't see a sample document attached to the reply. Am I missing something?

750 character Text field in ICWebclient

Hi All,
I have to add one 750 character Text field to ICWebclient front end, for that I have added textEdit field on the front end and at the backend I am saving the 750 character text in three parts each of 250 char. It's working fine for the text upto 250 char, but I am getting Error on the front end when the text size is >250 char.
Description of the error (on the front end) :
<field name>:input
Can any one please tell me the solution for this issue?

Can anybody try to help with a very complex issue in FB03 documents?
In SAP the documents shows Line Item Text with a simple description, for example:
LINE ITEM TEXT: VENDOR US#34 INVOICE
When the job scheduling team runs an interface that gathers all the FB03 documents to be sent to another legacy, it generates very big TXT files of accounting documents.
When you open the TXT file, the text :
VENDOR US#34 INVOICE
is transformed into :
VENDOR USÂ@34 INVOICE
Which means # is transformed into special characters making failure in the load in the Legacy.
This happens when text contains # - ´ ##
Can anybody shed any light as to why TXT transforms the original text into special characters?

Add one character at a time from External Text file

Hi,
I'm using Flash 8, and I have created a standard Dynamic
field that pulls the text from an external text file using the
LoadVars function and it works fine.
To get the correct effect for the design, I would like to be
able to create the illusion that the characters are being typed out
when the page loads as if someone has started typing and also hear
the "Typewriter Clack" each time a character appears.
The only place I have found an example is on the Syphon
Filter Game website which seems to have created the illusion

You can copy-and-paste special characters directly into a text object from a text editor such as MS Word. Alternatively, you can insert the hex character reference into the XML source for the applicable text object instance. For example, to add a copyright symbol, go to the XML Source tab and insert the reference © into the XML node <value><text>Foobar©</text></value>.

My requirement is The newly configured Text field to contain the NxTrend Po number needs to be available in EDI 850 IDoc for XI maps the value to the field.This text field is configured at Sales Order header level and named as end customer PO.This field should be available in the IDoc so that the value of end customeru2019s PO can be mapped there.
The changes are only required for NxTrend and do not need to be made for regular EDI customers. The message ID for NxTrend is NXT_ORDERS.

Your form is not shared so I have not been able to access it. But I have updated mine. There are now two approaches, one that follows on from the above method and updates each drop down list in each row. The second updates a separate dataset that the drop down list is bound to. This second approach requires the remerge() method which can cause problems if your code has updates some form properties like a borders color as these will be reset, but the code is simplier and you will only have one list to maintain. The add button click code is;
