Add custom development to Portal

Dear friends,
I am a abaper new to Portal. I have developed car expenses screens in SAP. I have a requirement to add these screens in Portal under particular link.
Kindly suggest.

Is your custom development screen is accessed through any T-code , then you can use SAP Transaction iview where you can mention the t-code there.
Please mention the kind of development that you did like developed in webdynpro ABAP or BSP ..etc...
If you developed it through webdynpro ABAP, then you have to use SAP WEbdynpro iview.

Portal / Custom Development Licensing Question

Hello,
we want to install and use the Netweaver Portal with some "default" Portal features like rooms and some custom webdynpro development. But we are not sure how to license this scenario.
We have a lot of licensed ERP / ECC users in our ABAP system. But not all of the future portal users are ERP user. There is no connection between custom development and the ABAP system. Am I right, that all portal user, who wants to access the ABAP backend must have a valid ABAP (ERP) license?
What about the other users who don't have an ABAP license? Do they need a special portal license?

My understanding is the SAP Portal falls under your Netweaver license which might be different from your Business Suite or ERP license. Best advice I can give you is to check with your SAP Account Executive and clarify exactly your scenario.
Generally I believe there is a "casual" license for users of ERP that do so only via the portal (e.g. ESS/MSS).

Reusing of custom developed portal components

Hi, what are the main rules and methods when you want to reuse custom developed portal components from scratch.
We have at least 10 components that will use the same skeleton when we develop them. An example would be a portal application that has 2 states in common with other three components, but the third state is different.

One method would be to have all components within the same par file. This will allow you to have a generic constants.java file which contains all of the available states.
Another method would be to use the SharingReference property as part of the component. This would mean creating the initial component with all of the available states. Make sure that this component is shared. Then, every other component can share the classes of the initial component. This works in a similar fashion to using the HTMLb service and classes.

How to add custom columns with BO data from GP to UWL

Hi
We have CE 7.1 in our project UWL taskitems only have GP workflow tasks.
In UWL we can see that by default there are standard columns but now we need to add custom columns with data from ours BO associated to process instance
For that we need to develop one custom connector for UWL where we can retrieve the values from custom conenctor to UWL.
Currently our NWDS 7.1 does not have plugins for UWL Connector can anybody tell me where can I download this plugins?

If you have developed your own SMARTFORM Payslip and a custom program to display it, then there is not much you can do with standard configuration.
Steps provided by Siddhart will call a custom HRFORMS payslip in a standardv way, or convert a PE51 payslip to SMARTFORMS pdf and display in a standard way.
You have to work with your Portal Consultant and/or ESS/MSS consultant and ABAP/Webdynpro Programmer for this one.
One suggested appraoch is
1) Create A Webdynpro programme which launches when Employee clicks on Payslip link
2) This program passes the employee user id to an ABAP program in ECC
3) ABAP Program calls the custom payslip program already developed and generates the payslip and passes it to the webdynpro program as a binary file.
4) Webdynpro program displays payslip as pdf file.
this Webdynpro program has a PCD URL. A resource is created and assigned this PCD URL.. Homepage customizing is done - this resource is assigned to the Payslip service which is assigned to the Payslip Subarea.
Hope this helps. We actually used this approach briefly long back before switching to HRFORMS, so I know it will work, but I have obviously provided very high level here. Hope you can do something with this.

How to call a Custom screen in portal from a Poratal UWL ??

How to display a Custom screen which is developed in portal when a work item is executed through the
portal-UWL ?.
In detail....
A custom screen has been developed in portals.
Workflow triggers when a new item is created on the custom screen then the workitem gets populated in the respective approver Portal UWL(universal work list).
when the workitem is executed from the UWL then it has to display the custom screen with its header data on the portal.

Creation of New Custom Development Object in Solar02

Hi,
We are trying to create an object type of Form for a new custom development object in solar02 under tab Development,and for this I get an error that the object doesn’t exist in development environment.
Based on my analysis, it looks like Solution Manager only allows to link pre-existing development objects but not creating new objects. Is that right? If not please advice how can we add new custom objects through solution manager.

hi,
solar01/02 is the tools for documenation, it is not for creating objects.
basically it should allow you to enter any developement objects names, irerespective of whether they are created in the back end system or not.
please provide the screenshots.

How can i add custom document properties in Content Services?

Hello guys.
I have question. I need to add custom attributes of document uploaded in CS.
I know about categories, and it will help me.
But i need it on the properties page? in main tab, where docname, creationdate, etc. appears. Is it possible?
Ideally it should appears in main window of CS, without any additional clicks.
Is there any way organize it without development new Web Services?

One possible way of doing this would be to use the $A mapping in the send_access mapping table. see http://docs.iplanet.com/docs/manuals/messaging/ims52/ag/filter.htm#15965
This will depend on what value you wish to use in the header and when and where during the message routing you want to add the header.
You can use channel level filters on the send_access or orig_send_access mapping table to control at which point the header is added but without knowing more about what you wish to do and which conditions you wish to use to add the header it is difficult to say more. It is possible to use a "customer supplied routine (in the form of a shared object call) from the mapping process, but during the mapping process the only information available to the routine is the sender and recipient info so that probably isnt suitable for your purposes.
Another method of header manipulation in IMS is channel header option files but these should be used with caution and will only operate on "known" headers and as a result are probably not of too much use to you either.

but Im afraid I cant point you at an example of where it has been used like this - perhaps someone else can.
WRT moving the message to the top of the message list - I presume this is from the clients perspective - How did you accomplish this in NMS as message views and sorting are almost exclusively a client responsibility ?
Also have you looked at the ENS service available with IMS?
Sorry I cant offer anything more than that but without knowing what functions your previous SMTP plugin performed its a bit difficult.

Problem with custom development for documents in Record Management

In Record Management i have setup a record model. It contains Bor objects, documents, cases and so on.
Each kind of record managent object has it own requirements.
For the documents there is a requirement which demands that if the scandate is changed also the date till which the document must be helded in the system must be changed.
This cannot be done automatically via default SAP and i don't want to let the customers do it there selfs, to much risk they make errors, so this must be done via custom development.
The logic searches in a enhanced method for the right attributes from the importing list of available attributes of the particular document.
This is going well in the development system but when i transport it to the test system it fails. I have noticed that the content of a custom developed field ( for example ZSCANDATE) is loaded well but a default field like SRM_DOM_STORAGE_START not. The systems returns an error that the description of the attribute is missing. When i look in the DMWB ( DocuMent WorkBench ) i dont see errors, but afcorse there is one.
What can i have forgotten in my record management installation?
Offcorse the test system is a copy of a working development system, but you have also some things that are system dependent. and i think i have forgotten some of those..

thanks for the quick answer. I tried it as you said and now I get a validation error in my h:messages tag on my jsf page after submitting the form. There are no errors in my JBoss console, just this one word on my jsf page. Do you have any idea what this could mean?
My two lists look like this:

Saving/Printing all pages of Report developed in Portal....

Hi friends,
How can I save a Report developed in Portal as soft file?
I know there is a feature in Customizing Report to enter the
File save as Excel and it will try to save file.
I have 2 questions :
a) How can I achieve saving the Report as html/ascii/excel file
when it has say 20000 rows ?.
(Because always when I run a report on browser it brings data
when I press "Next" and "previous" buttons.)
b) If I need to print the Report to printer how can I print all
pages of Report output?

Enhance Standard Info Structure SAP_CRM_ACT to add custom fields in CRM Activity archive Search

Hi All,
We have a requirement where we need to enhance CRM UI archive search with custom fields for CRM activity Object CRM_ACT_ON. As per my analysis Standard Archive Search for activity Uses info structure SAP_CRM_ACT for searching archived data.
But when we are trying to add custom fields into above field catalog, it is treated as modification. But Modification is not allowed in our landscape.
Standard infostructure is harcoded in SAP standard method ARCHIVING_READ of class CL_CRM_REPORT_ACC_DYNAMIC which is called as part of the process. So we are not able to go ahead with custom info structure.
Can you please le me know if there are any alternative way to meet above requirement or I have missed any steps.

Hi All,
In the project we need to to add custom fields from custom table (z table) in an Additional Tab (header) of J1B3N transaction. How can we do it using user-exits or BADI's?
I've looked for this requirement in the forum, but none of them related to J1B3N transaction.
