Add Hyperlink feature breaks URLs

Question

When composing an e-mail and I choose Add Hyperlink and paste in a URL, even though the URL is properly encoded, Mail re-URL-encodes it so that percent signs (%) are replaced with "%25", which breaks the URL. This is obviously incorrect behavior.
For example, the following is a valid URL into Wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_%28disambiguation%29
Paste that into Mail's Add Hyperlink window and send the e-mail. The link in the received mail won't work because Mail converted the URL to the following, which is wrong:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_%2528disambiguation%2529
What I'd like to somehow obtain is satisfaction that Apple is aware of the problem and is planning to fix it. It is frustrating to know of an Apple software bug while having no insight into whether Apple is even aware of the problem, let alone planning to fix.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_%28disambiguation%29
You need to replace each % symbol and the two hexadecimal digits that follow with the single character that they represent. In this case, the %28 represents the left parenthesis character, "(", and %29 represents the right parenthesis character ")". So, if you paste the following into the Add Hyperlink box, it should reverse what you did to retain the correct URL:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_(disambiguation)
FYI, the following URL takes you to a page that shows you the characters represented by hexadecimal:
http://www.asciitable.com/
