Add instance of 2 sub forms

I am using Live Cycle ES2 to create a complex form. I need to add an instance of 2 sub forms (A and B) that are on 2 separate pages. I have used Action Builder to create 2 conditions, but this results in sub form A following sub form A, and B following B. Whereas I require the sub form A and B to follow after the initail instance of sub form B. I'd be grateful of any ideas.

How can I create a repetitive area, if the option is not found useable in the bar of tools of the layout of impression of consultations?  Additionally if in the window of the designer of layout I want to modify a report of user that if I can add him repetitive areas but me does not leave to keep them... how can I create a new user report format with 3 or but areas of repeticion?

  • How do I hide objects in all instances of a sub-form?

    I have a list of objects in a sub-form.  They are hidden or made visible depending on the selection of a drop-down menu outside the sub-form.  It works correctly for the first instance, but objects that are supposed to remain hidden become visible in all subsequent instances of the sub-form.
    How do I make the objects remain hidden in all instances of the sub-form?

    I think you want to move all the code from the change event of form1.EXP_Sample_Form.Identifier.Who.LOB_List.LOB_List to the calculate event of form1.EXP_Sample_Form.Bottom_of_Form.
    Which would then look like;
    switch (Identifier.Who.LOB_List.LOB_List.rawValue)
        case "AmeriHealth Caritas":
            PCPInfo.Docs.SiteVisit.presence = "hidden";
            PCPInfo.Docs.Comments_SiteVisit.presence = "hidden";
            PCPInfo.Docs.SiteVisit_Received.presence = "hidden";
            PCPInfo.Docs.PanelAttestation.presence = "hidden";
            PCPInfo.Docs.Comments_PanelAttestation.presence = "hidden";
            PCPInfo.Docs.PanelAttestation_Received.presence = "hidden";
            break;

  • Question about scripts in repeatbel sub-form objects

    Hi,
      I am working on creating a form which has a sub-form that can be repeated as many times as the user wants to. There is an ‘Add’ button which creates an instance of the sub-form on the form, when clicked.
    On the sub-form I have 5 numeric fields say a1-a5 and 1 field say b1 which is the sum of all these 5 fields.
    On the Main form I have a 2 fields - say t1 and f1.
    The requirement is t1=f1+b1+(sub-form instance 2’s b1)+(sub-form instance 3’s b1)+ and so on …depending on as many sub-form instances there are that the user adds.
    I have created Actions using the Action Builder such that when any of a1 to a5 fields are exited, b1 will be updated with the sum of a1-a5. At the same time t1 will be updated with sum of f1 and b1.
    This works great for 1 instance of the sub-form. But when ‘Add’ is clicked and a second instance of the sub-form is added, then the script does not work as it did for the first instance of the sub-form. So for any instances of the sub-form added, when values are added to a1-a5 and the fields are existed, b1 does not get updated.
    How can I fix this?
    See attached form that I am creating for clarity.
    ‘Total Hours worked this week’ is the t1 I was talking about. See how it gets updated when values are entered in any of the hour fields. It works fine with the default instance of the T100/Strategic/Advantage Customer Information sub-form as well. But when I click on ‘Add Customer’ button to add another instance of the sub-form, it does not work as expected.
    Please let me know if it is still not clear and I can explain the issue.

    Vjay's solution works great! Essentially, take out all of your other programming on the individual fields, and hard script the field you want the sum to show on. By directly referencing the fields, Adobe is able to tell the difference between one instance and another and doesn't get them mixed up. (I have found for some of these dynamic functions, the Action Builder doesn't really work, so you need to code by hand)
    My only suggestion, would be to perhaps modify Vjay's code a little, and use Javascript instead of Formcalc. We have run into the problem where if a user is using the form from a webserver or something and hasn't actually been saved to the user PC, the Formcalc scripts won't run, only Javascript. But it all depends on how you are using your forms.
    Here is your line of code changed to Javascript, in case you want to make that change. (there's really not much difference at all)
    this.rawValue = sum(CustomerTimeBD.Row1.Cell1.rawValue + CustomerTimeBD.Row1.Cell2.rawValue + CustomerTimeBD.Row2.Cell1.rawValue + CustomerTimeBD.Row2.Cell2.rawValue + CustomerTimeBD.Row3.Cell1.rawValue + CustomerTimeBD.Row3.Cell2.rawValue + CustomerTimeBD.Row4.Cell1.rawValue + CustomerTimeBD.Row4.Cell2.rawValue + CustomerTimeBD.Row5.Cell1.rawValue);

  • Populateing a drop down list in a repeating sub form

    I have been using the scripts from the Purchase Order sample that work with the Country and States/Provinces drop down lists and have modified them to fit my needs. The scripts work great. However I have a drop down list that is in a repeating sub form and the only the drop down list in the first occurance of the sub form works. The others don't.
    I put this line of code in a field called drpOrderedByTeam.
    JobsScript.getJobsOther(xfa, xfa.resolveNode("form1.TimeSheetSF.DetailsSF[*].DetailsTable.DetailsRow.ItemNumber"));
    I thought I just needed to add an "[*]" to the name of the sub form and it would work with all occurances but it doesn't seem so and I'm not sure what else to do.

    Based on your explanations, I've attempted to re-create your form and I think I've got it working the way you'd like it to.
    There are some difficulties with using fields in table headers which are replicated on subsequent pages because while new instances of the header subform and the fields it contains are created, you don't have access to these instances using the header's Instance Manager (I think this is a bug but I'm not sure). This means that you can't iterate through the instances of the header in order to populate the task lists depending on the selection in the team list. One solution for this is to make all header fields Global (select each field and, in the Object palette's Binding tab, set the
    Default Binding property to
    Global). This means that all instances of these fields will share the same value. The effect is that when you change the value of a field on an instance of a header on any page, the change will be replicated on all instances on all pages. The catch, though, is when you use lists in the header. Making list fields global doesn't mean that their item lists are global -- which causes other headaches.
    In the end, because of the problems I've described, I had to resort to cheating a little but if you think about it, it's not really cheating. What the form does is whenever the team list value changes, it removes all instances of the DetailsSF rows. This has the effect of also removing all instances of the DetailTitlesSF headers accross the current page set (and removes all pages but the first one). Then 6 new instances of the DetailsSF row are generated and the DetailTitlesSF header is re-populated using the new selection in the team list. After that, if a new page gets generated because of the number of instances of the DetailsSF rows, the new instances of the task lists in the new instances of the DetailTitlesSF header will have the correct list of items based on the current value of the team list. In the end, even though I'm cheating by removing all instances of the DetailsSF row in order to reset the lists in the DetailTitlesSF header, it's not really cheating because if you change teams, then it should be assumed that all data entered doesn't apply anymore because the tasks change as well... Convinced?
    The best way to understand this is to check-out the sample form.
    Let me know if you have any questions.

  • Passing values to sub-forms  (Varaible scoping)

    I have a "parent" form that calls one of 6 subforms. I'm trying to figure out how to pass values derived in the parent to a sub form.
    I am running IdM 8.1.0.9 in glassfish 2.1.1. I set up these test forms to work through this:
    my Parent Form:
    <Form name='parent' objectLocationID='objectType=UserForm&objectName=parent&objectPath=0&isBegin=true'>
      <Display class='EditForm'/>
        <Include>
          <ObjectRef id='#ID#UserForm:child1' type='UserForm' name='child1'/>
        </Include>
        <!-- This value needed in child 1 form -->
        <defvar name='myvalue'>
          <s>test123</s>
        </defvar>
        <Field name='myfield'>
          <Expansion>
            <ref>myvalue</ref>
          </Expansion>
        </Field>
    <!--  My attempt at using <Variable>, IdM doesn't like this
        <Variable name='myextvar' external='true'>
          <ref>myvalue</ref>
        </Variable>
    -->
        <FormRef name='child1'/>
    </Form>
    my Child1 Form:
            <Form name='child1' objectLocationID='objectType=UserForm&objectName=child1&objectPath=0&isBegin=true'>
                <Display class='EditForm'/>
    <!--
               <Include>
                    <ObjectRef type='UserForm' id='#ID#UserForm:parent' name='parent'/>
                </Include>
    -->
                <Field name='subtext'>
                    <Display class='Text'>
                        <Property name='title'>
                            <concat>
                              <s>pre1:</s>
    <!--
                               <FieldRef objectLocationID='objectType=UserForm&objectName=marty&objectPath=0&isBegin=true' name='myvalue'/>
    -->
                               <ref>myvalue</ref>
                              <s>:1post</s>
                            </concat>
                        </Property>
                    </Display>
                </Field>
            </Form>I was hoping that child forms would share the scope of the parent, and I could just use a <ref> tag in the child form, but that doesn't seem to work. So I started looking at FieldRef/FormRef but I'm not sure they are the right answer either.
    When the include in the child form is uncommented, I get :
    An unrecoverable error has occurred processing the request. Contact your system administrator.
    Syslog ID = LG-0405-115539.
    I'm guessing that this is because I include a form that includes this form, and created an endless include loop?
    When the FieldRef is uncommented, I get this error:
    Attruibute "objectLocationID" must be declared for element type "FieldRef".
    The <Variable> tag (defined as external) looks promising, but I haven't run across a good example of how to use it.
    When I try to add a <Variable> to my parent form, I get the error: Content of element type "Form" must match...
    This doc: http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/820-5821/bvaex?a=view
    says that <Variable> is a valid form element, but IdM disagrees.
    Any suggestions on how to achieve the passing of values from one for to another would be greatly appreciated.

    An advice I usually follow: Skip defvars and variables, and stick to fields, hidden, not using any Display class that is, if you just need to use the field as an variable. Field are a lot more practical IMHO.

  • Calculation in an add instance

    I am trying to use an if statement in an addinstance of an interactive form.  Based on the results of one field in the addinstance, I want to sum a different field from the add instance.  So, the customer can add any number of rows and choose from a drop down (coded 1-4) the position of the person.  If that position is 1 or 2, I want to sum the salary field in a calculation box.  If the position is 3, then I want to sum the salary(ies) in a second calcuation box, and if the position is 4, then I want to sum the salaries in a third calculation field.  My code for one of the the calculation field looks like this:
    form1.#subform[8].#subform[9].details.total.conditions.#subform[0].numTotal[
    1]::calculate - (FormCalc, client)
    if (detail[*].PTFT < 3) then
          Sum(detail[*].salary)
          endif
    The other two fields are the same except that they change "<3" to "==3" or "==4".
    The problem is that it does not sum the second or third calcuation field.  Only my first calcuation field will work.
    Since it is a rather simple if statement, I think that the problem may be in the subforms, possibly?
    Please see my form at http://www.units.muohio.edu/lifelonglearning/forms/zzztest.pdf
    Thanks in advance for any help you can lend.

    Ok I had a look at your form (nice form by the way ...good job). The expression you are using to determine the number of instances is not correct....as well when you sum the salaries it is the details subform that has th eiccurance numbers so that needs the * notation. Here is the 1st calc modified
    if  (details._detail.count < 3) then
         Sum(detail[*
    ].salary)
    endif
    You also have the same code on the layout ready and the calc event. No need for both ...just leave it on the calc event and when the user enters the amounts the totals will update.
    You are also getting an error when the row initialize .....a partNoScript is being called becuase of script behind the Name field (itis called txtPartNo in your form). My guess is that you copied this from the Purchase Order sample and forgot to remove the scritp from the Initialize and the change event. This field was originally a DD field and that is what was used to populate it.
    Hope that helps

  • Add instance on Read only field issue

    I have a subform with two fields , one a date field to capture current system date and time and another is a Text field for some comments.
    Then there are two buttons ,one for Adding the instance for these two fields and another is a Save button which makes these two fields
    The requirement is that once both the fields are filled with data and i click on save button, the fields should become read only ,however when i click on the add instance button the instance is added successfully but the save button click is not making the new instance read only.
    The Code for Add Instance Button is :
    "New1.FileNote.instanceManager.addInstance(true);
    xfa.form.recalculate(true);"
    The code for Save button to make the fields read only is :
    New1.FileNote.DateTimeField101.access = "readOnly";
    New1.FileNote.TextField37.access = "readOnly";
    Please guide me as I am totally blank on how to code the same..Have a rough logic of using a for loop with index of the Add Instance but not getting the way out for the code.
    Thanks a lot for any help and guidance.

    Hi Steve,
    Thanks for your reply..I made it happen using the for loop with Index and resolve node. However there is another issue which occured after that..I have a date/time field in that repeating subform instance.
    The run time property is set to Current Date/Time. Now the issue is whenever i click on save, form.recalculate instance changes the existing time value in the previous subbform instance as well
    Is there a way to retain the existing value in the field of the previous instance ??

  • Add instance in a subform which also can be doubled

    Hi,
    I have a subform X which can be doubled by a click on the button. In that subform X there is another subform Y which also can be multiplied to a maximum of 3.
    Now when I add a subform X and i want to add some subforms Y. The form will only add the subform Y in the first subform X and not in the second one.
    This is the script I use:
    for subform x
    if(Incitant52.subFoireAcheteur.all.length < 2){;
    Incitant52.subFoireAcheteur.instanceManager.addInstance(true);
    and for subform y
    if(Incitant52.subFoireAcheteur.subAcheteur.all.length < 3){;
    Incitant52.subFoireAcheteur.subAcheteur.instanceManager.addInstance(true);

    To add instances to the second occurance of subform x you will need to address it with subformx[1].
    Note that the [ ] brackets are not valid in javascript so your expression should look something like this:
    xfa.resolveNode("Incitant52.subFoireAcheteur.subformx[1]").instanceManager.addInstance(1)

  • Add Instance Subform content to textbox

    Hi all,
    There is sth I would like to do.
    I have a form which has a text field that is in a subform where you can add instances. No problem with pages etc.
    Now, I have created a text field where I would like all entries to be repeated as plain text possibly separated by rows.
    For example:
    Textbox in Subform: Eggs
    Textbox 2 in Subform (after clicking the add instance button): Butter
    Text box at the end should either say:
    Eggs, Butter
    or
    Eggs
    Butter
    Does anyone have an idea on how I can achieve this?
    Thanks a lot,
    Larissa

    Hi Paul,
    Actually I have several requirements. I have attached the pdf as this seems easier at this point.
    At the beginning of the pdf, I have the marks in three boxes. I would like to concatenate them with a comma between the different entries into a text field that users can then copy paste into the next form.
    Let’s say in the first box you put:
    A
    B
    C
    In the second,
    D
    E
    I would like to have a text box that comes out as: A,B,C,D,E
    Second problem I am facing with this task is at the countries.
    I have a country online selection and a second country selection.
    Ideally I would like to have just one box with all countries and be able to tell the pdf that certain countries have the characteristic “Online”.
    Thus if the client clicks on “Add” I would have two list boxes: One for Online and one for Rest. Depending on what the characteristic of the country it would either go into the Online or the Other.
    Any ideas on my problematic.
    I was thinking working with numbers and maybe telling the system that if it is under 100, move to Box 1, if it is over 100, move to Box 2.
    Thanks for your help.
    Kind regards,
    Larissa

  • Tab-order in sub-forms

    Hello,
    I have a problem to define tab-order in sub-forms. I am using the instance manager (addinstansces) to generate subforms (dynamic), but have problems to define the tab's to go horizontal and not top-down. I.e. if I have defined 3 subforms with ID: 1, 2, 3, and the text fields name and address the orders will go from ID:1, name:1, address:1, etc. My wish is to go from name:1, name:2, name:3, address:1, address:2 etc
    Any help out there?

    Hi Rebecca,
    By tabs do you mean the form fields? If yes, then you can simply rearrange them by repositioning the other fields using mouse.
    However, the e-mails that are received on submission of the forms show the original sequence of the fields.

  • Adding a sub form between 2 flowed subforms

    Hi...I'm attempting to add a sub form between 2 sub forms and make it flow.
    I can add in my content, but I can't get it to push the content below it as it grows. I have it in a positioned subform and then wrapped in a flowed subform.
    I attached my example so you can see what I'm talking about.
    Specifically in the attached it's the text boxes that start with #1, #2, #3, etc....that grow but don't push down the content below them.
    Thanks for the help!

    Please see the fixed form attached.
    You had two issues:
    1. The subforms containing the expanding fields (SF_DIV and Subform12) needed to be flowed
    2. The subform (Subform11.Table2.Row1[2].untitled Subform) was flowed, but had a fixed height which prevented it from expanding
    I also reduced the size of your form from 201KB to 14KB by turning off 'Embed Fonts' in Form Properties > Save Options

  • Subforms within subforms add Instance problem

    Hi
    I am new to Adobe Livecycle Designer (I am using version 8.2.1) but I have successful made nearly all elements of the quite long form I need to produce except for one section I am having difficulty getting it to function correctly. In the example I have a repeating subform ‘Organisation’ on page subform ‘Membership’ which has buttons to add and remove instances, which work correctly. But within each instance of this ‘Organisation’ subform is another repeating instance subform ‘ExpertNames’ with buttons to add and remove instances.
    The ‘Organisation’ form allows an organisation to be named and the ‘ExpertNames’ subform allows multiple members for that organisation to be named and associated to each organisation. The user should be able to list multiple organisations each with one or more members. I can successfully add multiple instances of ‘Organisation’ form one after another using
    Membership.Organisation.instanceManager.addInstance(1)
    and remove the selected instance using
    Membership.Organisation.instanceManager.removeInstance(this.parent.index)
    I have the following set on the button to add a new instance of the ‘ExpertNames’ form
    Membership.Organisation.ExpertNames.instanceManager.addInstance(1);
    and the following to remove the selected instance of the 'ExpertNames' form
    Membership.Organisation.ExpertNames.instanceManager.removeInstance(this.parent.index);
    However when I add a second instance of the ‘Organisation’ form i.e. a new organisation and try and add additional members to the 2nd organisation it adds them to the 1st organisation rather than the second! I have an example of the problem form i can send if needed.
    Hope someone will be able to help with this.
    Many thanks in advance
    Lara

    I still have not been able to find a solution to this does anyone have any ideas?
    I have an example of the problem in a form that I can email.
    Many thanks in advance

  • Adding add instance into calculation

    I am trying to get  fields  from  add instance/subform fields to calculate with the rest of the form fields. The problem I am having is once I "add instance" the field is no longer part of the calculation. I have tried using:// Verify at least one instance of the midtr3a field exists.
    if
    (exists(location.yes900.admids.midtr3a) == 1) then
    Sum(location.yes900.admids[
    *].midtr3a)
    endif
    would appreciate any help on this.
    Thanks K

    I think you do not have to check for whether the field exists or not..Because when you use the "Sum" function, it will check if the field is present and if it has value or not.
    You may directly try the following int he script..
    Sum(location.yes900.admids[*].midtr3a
    Also in your Exists function, you are checking "exists(location.yes900.admids.midtr3a)".. This will only check for the first instance of the field.
    Thanks
