Add new protocol handler at OS level

Hi,
I'd like to write a new protocol handler at the OS level, so that when any browser points to myHandler:myData is should open a specified program and pass myData to it. Something similiar to the mailto: handler, which is built in. How do I do this?

Hi,
The customer include CI_FMBL can only be used with FMPEP and not with other transaction like FMBB.
Technically speaking, the structure CI_FMBL must be part of many other interfaces like the one use by BAdI 'FMKU_BUDGET_EVNT'.
In order to add such customer fields in FMPEP, you have to use the BAdI 'FMBW_CUSTOMER'. For instruction, you have to look at the note 1356725 and the instruction of paragraph 30. Please read the instruction and start to do your implementation.
With the BAdI 'FMBW_CUSTOMER', you can use the PBO and PAI for handling the customer fields. There is no other place to populate these customer fields. Do you want to use customer fields in FMPEP? Please check note 1356725 for reference.

I want to add a push button in XK01 (vendor ) create and change in the production data and Plant level data .I can add in the Production level using Vendor_add_data and Vendor_add_data_cs . But i want to add that same in the Plant level data.
Navigation to plant level : in the production data->additional data ->click plant -> choose purchasing.
Please help me how to add new button and new screen related to this button.
And in plant level Extras->texts .. This menu item is disabled so can u please tell me how to enable it.

I have added a field to LFB1 with append structure. Activated the BADIs so that I now get the extra tab, and my field in XK01. I can't save the input data though. "No changes were made". Do I need to write some code in "get_Data" method. if so, what should it be like?

How can I add new event handler in BC4J event flow in UIX?

How can I declarativly add extension to existing event handleres in BC4J+UIX page?
I generate through wizards UIX+BC4J pages and I want extend some actions in eventhandlers section. Can I do it in some way like <event name=".." method=".." class=".."> like in any regular event handlers?

you can use the <method ..> event handler inside the BC4J event handlers, like:

Add New Tab Customization on SC Item Level - SRM7

Hi gurus,
I have requirement to add new tab on SC Item level. Which should show data from LongText of SC. New TextID created for this development. (Since Requirement is of Vaiable number of fields per Item so cant append Strucutre simply)
After Initial analysis I see 2 ways to achieve it.
1. Like Standard SAP way (Similar way SAP did for standard Tabs)
- But its really complicated at Mapper Class & PDO Layer. Any Docs ??
2. Tab Enhancement Framework - Use of Table : /SAPSRM/C_TS_EXT
- With this I m able to call Z component. But not able to co-relate it with SC item level.
- How to pass Item GUID to Z component in proper way??
- How to link Z components data SAVE event with standard SAVE button of FPM or SC ??
Is there any other better way ??
Is it possible via Table Extension ?? what are steps to do it ??

Hi pkumthek,
I do suggest you not try to add new tab on SC item level. We cost 4 people month to accomplish this little function...A better way is adding a hyper-link on item level which could navigate to a pop-up window. You can finish your logci in the pop-up window and it will cost pretty less. Just for your information.

My custom protocol handler isn't working after upgrading from 3.0

Firefox 3.6.7. Updated via RedHat Network.
I'm trying to add a custom protocol handler (gdc) to Firefox. This worked in 3.0 and earlier. Now I'm getting "Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (gdc) isn't associated with any program." errors.
Tried adding network.protocol-handler.app.gdc string with valid path. Didn't work. Went to #firefox irc.mozilla.org and was recommended that I add network.protocol-handler.expose.gdc and set it to false. I still get the error.

Yep I can confirm that I am having problems with wifi as well.
My problem is that it is not re-joining known networks.
Also the auto login feature designed for hotspots does not seem to work well either. The Log In Screen slides up then an error keeps repeating on the page...."Error Opening Page - The page could not be opened because an error occurred"

Protocol Handler in the applet

Hi.
I 've created a new protocol handler. It's working fine in the application but doesn't work in the applet.
The Handler class is in the package - protocol.xxx
It's registered -
System.getProperties().put("java.protocol.handler.pkgs", "protocol");
However xxx:// is unknown protocol in the applet
Any ideas?

How to Add a New CGI-Handler to Web Server?

I need to setup a website that will have pages coded in "LiveCode" (http://livecode.com/), an English-like scripting language, that can be used as an 'easier-to-program' replacement for PHP. It has its own interpreter ("livecode-server"), which is supposed to work under Apache as a cgi script. The idea is that the programmer writes web pages in LiveCode, composed of HTML with embedded LiveCode scripting, and these pages are saved using their own extension (".lc"). When a ".lc" page is requested, Apache should send the page for processing by the 'livecode-server' cgi.
The installation instructions for 'livecode-server' are quite simple. They state that it should be able to be easily installed via an '.htaccess' file, like this:
1) in the website's root directory, add a ".htaccess" file with the following directives:
Options ExecCGI
AddHandler livecode-script .lc
Action livecode-script /cgi-bin/livecode-server
2) put the 'livecode-server' executable inside your 'cgi-bin' folder
These instructions are obviously for users in a shared host environment, but I thought I should be able to do the same with OS X Web Server. But... where can I find a site's "cgi-bin" folder?
Any guidance is truly appreciated.

I tried using a custom httpd_livecode.conf file, and storing it in /Library/Server/Web/Config/apache2/other, but without success. To be totally honest, I'm not certain as to whether the configuration is not loading, or whether there is just something wrong with my syntax, and right now I just don't have the time to troubleshoot.
I did manage to get it working with the .htaccess file, which was quite easy, once I knew where to put the executable - which, as you mentioned, had to be in /Library/Server/Web/Data/CGI-Executables.
So, for future reference, the 'recipe' for adding a new cgi handler via .htaccess is:
place the cgi executable (usually a language parser or interpreter) into
/Library/Server/Web/Data/CGI-Executables
make sure the parser/interpreter (and any accompanying files or directories) are readable and executable (usually permissions should be set to '755')
in your site folder, add a .htaccess file with the following contents:
Options ExecCGI
AddHandler script-type .extensionType
Action script-type /cgi-bin/script-interpreter
In the case of LiveCode, my .htaccess file looks like this:
Options ExecCGI
AddHandler livecode-script .lc
Action livecode-script /cgi-bin/livecode-server
And the 'livecode-server' executable, as well as its accompanying files, were downloaded directly from the LiveCode website, and placed in /Library/Server/Web/Data/CGI-Executables.
last of all in Server.app, in the Advanced settings for your site, make sure you have enabled "Allow overrides using '.htaccess' files"

Change value of a control in a list item new or edit form depending on the page level view Add New Item being clicked.

I have a list which has a underlying infopath form for insert and edit a record.
The list has various views spread across different pages .
Now depending on different pages "New Item", a value for the form will have a corresponding value.
If there is a single line of text control in the list, and depending ona page name, the value for the single line text should be autofilled when Add new item is clicked.
How do i achieve that?

According to your description, there are several list views in your list, there is a textbox control which holds the “Single Line of Text” type of data in your custom
form. When users click the “Add new item” button in one of the existing list views, you want the textbox control in the custom form to be populated automatically.
By default, when user clicks the “Add new item” button in a list view, the URL of the custom form page will contain the name of that list view page, thus, a workaround
which requires custom code can be like this:
After the form page loaded, we can extract the name of the list view page from the URL, then populate it into the textbox control immediately. This can be achieved
using jQuery.

"network.protocol-handler.external.mailto" changes to false upon closing Firefox

I've tried to troubleshoot why I can't get gmail to work as Firefox's email mailto app for quite a while now. A while ago I stumbled on this solution: I changed the "network.protocol-handler.external.mailto" string to true and it worked perfectly. However, now whenever I close my browser, the string returns to "false"--every time--so whenever I click on a mailto link and untitled blank page pops up instead of an email handler. Any ideas? I'm running Windows 7 64-bit and have Firefox 3.3.6 installed.

some data I put together, best bet is to get some updated files from forge,
zenimaging.info or edu-magic.net
or upgrading to the latest version of zdm / zcm.
you need ofcourse to make sure you use the right kernel version for IR7

This will add-in the BroadCom drivers for the GX280 computer.
***NOTE*** I had to run the GX280 SATA drive in Compatability mode in the
BIOS, otherwise the drive did not show under the img dump ******
I should also note here that the hdparm command does nto work with this.
Imaging my Windows XP image took about 6 minutes though.
I also did the 2.4.22 kernel because there is a compiled BroadCom driver
on the Forge site.

So... SATA isn't supported by this trick on the Gx280 machines.
The only way I could get SATA to work in "normal" (not "compatibility")
mode in these machines was using the 2.4.28 kernel.
As of kernel 2.4.27 SATA is merged into the kernel source tree so you
don't need Alan Cox's patch to enable SATA.
This only patches I applied to my kernel were the zen patch and a
broadcom 57xx patch (had to change the version string in this one).
Although ICH6 isn't yet fully supported it does work in a "Looks like
ICH5" mode and I'm able to successfully take and put an image in "normal
" sata mode.
As to USB keyboard support - after trying several combinations I think
it's better to compile HID support using HIDBP rather than the full HID
layer - the only HID feature needed in the imaging environment is
keyboard support and HIDBP handles it well enough.
If you have already compiled drivers or have linux.2 please put them on

To configure your ODBC DataSource, go to Control Panel ---> DataSources(ODBC) (If you are in a Windows environment).
Select the tab System DSN. If you have not added your data source, then do so by clicking on the Add button. If you have added the datasource, click on the Configure button to configure it.
Give the datasource name, then the database name.
You have to give the hostname, service name and server name. I guess, in most cases, the datasource name and host name will be the same, service name and server name will be the same. If you are using TCP/IP, the protocol will be onsoctcp.
There will be a file named Services under C:\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc where you have to give the port number for accessing this server.
It will be like this <service name> <portnumber>/tcp

what you are doing incorrectly is
trying to get the handle to the OAPageButtonBarBean.
This is a named child of the parent bean(OAPageLayoutBean), and what you are trying to do is find it as a indexed child, this should give you a nullpointer excp in this line oapbb.addIndexedChild(cancelButton);
since the handle should be null.
to get the handle to OAPageButtonBarBean, use some like this
pageContext.getPageLayoutBean().getPageButtons();
and then add buttons to it.
