Add URL to Quicktime???

I would like to embed a URL to a quicktime movie so that if you click on the movie it will launch a web page. Automator has a step where you can add a url to a movie however, I cannot get anything to work. Does anyone have any suggestions.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This should help you with everything:

  • How do I fire a URL into QuickTime from a web page?

    Looking at the Apple trailer site and I like the way that if you view a HD trailer it loads QuickTime and opens the video straight into QuickTime
    Now I assume it's sending the URL of the MOV file to QuickTime to play.
    How can I make a link from a HTML page send the URL into QuickTime to replicate the same way to run a video.
    At the moment I build "pop up" windows to display movies in, and I think using QuickTime in this way will be better so if someone has popups blocked my movies will still play.
    It must be simple to do.
    I once did a site for someone that need a podcast and I got it to send it to iTunes. But I cant seem to see how to do the same for a movie to QuickTime

    The technique is known as Poster Movies. A tiny image file saved as .mov file that can either act as a "placeholder" (target="myself") or act like a "link" (target="quicktimeplayer").
    http://www.qtbridge.com/pageot/pageot.html
    Free software to help write the proper page code.
    Another method is a QuickTime Media Link (.qtl file). These tiny text based files can be placed anywhere in a Web page and will always download (Mac or PC) and will launch the QuickTime Player.

    Once the user has entered the URL they want to add to the form. You can use the loadXML function to implement some special text in a label...
    var linkValue = "<?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"UTF-8\"?><exData contentType=\"text/html\" xmlns=\"http://www.xfa.org/schema/xfa-template/2.8/\"><body xmlns=\"http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml\" xmlns:xfa=\"http://www.xfa.org/schema/xfa-data/1.0/\" xfa:APIVersion=\"Acroform:2.7.0.0\" xfa:spec=\"2.1\"><p style=\"font-weight:bold;text-decoration:none;letter-spacing:0in\">The new link the user have entered is:<a href=\"" + textfield.rawValue + "\">textfield.rawValue</a></p></body></exData>";
      this.resolveNode("lblURL").value.exData.loadXML(linkValue, 1, 1);

  • Is It Possible to add the Actual Quicktime player to a page?

    Does anyone know if it is possible to add the actual quicktime player that you see on your desktop to a page? I want to add a Quicktime movie to a page and still end up with the whole controller not just the little control bar.

    Kyn's response is also your answer.
    To open the QuickTime Player (instead of playing your file in a browser window) is a feature of iWeb that is "missing". Maybe next version?
    I use the special html "tags" in many of my .Mac hosted Web pages:
    http://homepage.mac.com/kkirkster/04war/
    As an example.
    You need to edit the iWeb created page code after publishing to do this work. It may be more work than you've planned because it does require a lot of "hand coding" to your "Published" HTML page code. And, because iWeb also uses special javascripts (.js files) to showcase your QuickTime file, you'll need to hand edit them also.
    There is some freeware software (PAGEot) that can help a bit with the page coding. A Google search for it is easy.
    Editing "published" pages is not for the faint of heart and may be necessary each time your iWeb site is updated.
    Does this answer your personal email to me?
    We can show you the steps when you're ready to implement them.

  • How to add URLs and/or bookmarks to a new toolbar

    I can create a new toolbar and drag buttons from/to the 'Customize Toolbar' dialog, and that new toolbar will be visible.
    But I want to use that new toolbar for extra favorite URLs and/or bookmarks. That does not seem to be allowed.
    I _can_ drag the 'Bookmark toolbar items' icon from the Bookmarks toolbar, but that does not solve my problem, now does it?

    There is one "Bookmarks Toolbar Items" container available for storing bookmarks, and that is where bookmarks are placed if you want them on a Toolbar. I have never seen an add-on that changes that by adding a 2nd "Bookmarks Toolbar Items" container.
    I understand that you want to reduce the toolbar area at the top of the browser window, because I have been doing that for almost as long as I have been using Firefox ''(since 2002 when it was called Phoenix)''. The first thing I do is to get rid of or '''reduce the Menu Bar down to one button''' using one of the various Compact Menu extensions that have been available over the years. This is the one I currently use.<br />
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/compact-menu-2/ <br />
    This extension hides the Menu Bar and places a button on the left side of the Navigation Bar upon installation. Click that blue globe button or hit the '''''Alt''''' key and the the Menubar Items appear in a drop-down menu. You can even drag that small button into the [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/How+to+customize+the+toolbar Customize Palette] and use the '''''Alt''''' key to open the Menubar Items drop-down. <br />Hidden from view, but easily accessible when you need to use a Menubar Item.

  • How to add URLs in apage without using edit mode

    Hello everybody.
    We have Portal 9.0.4.1 under Solaris, and we are just beggining using it :-)
    We created a section for links (to urls) in the home page of each user. We would like our users to add links to their most used pages (for example, metalink.oracle.com), but we do not want them to enter in edit mode, we would like some functionallity like the "add portlet" in the customize option.
    Any help will be very apreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Lisandro

    The example is generic and not hardcoded to any region on the page ... but has the same "warning" that Mark mentioned about this example not working in future versions if Oracle changes the URL structure:
    The Add Item example shows how to create a new item type ...adding an item of this type to any region allows you to add content to that region
    The Edit Item example show how to show a edit link or icon next to the item in view mode.
    Add Item
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
    This code sample shows how to create an item allows the content contributor to add items to the page group/page/region that the sample item is placed in.
    If you want your content contributor to add items to multiple regions on a page, add the sample item to all regions that you wish to expose this functionality in.
    Step 1: Create a PL/SQL procedure
    Create the following procedure:
    Create or Replace Procedure <schema>.ADDITEM_URL
    p_itemid IN VARCHAR2,
    p_pageid IN VARCHAR2,
    p_siteid IN VARCHAR2)
    as
    v_url varchar2(2000);
    v_region varchar2(2000);
    v_looplink varchar2(2000);
    v_host varchar2(2000);
    begin
    select folder_region_id into v_region
    from portal.wwsbr_all_items
    where id = p_itemid and
    caid = p_siteid;
    if instr(portal.wwctx_api.get_host, ':') = 0 then
    v_host := portal.wwctx_api.get_host;
    else
    v_host := substr(portal.wwctx_api.get_host,
    1,
    (instr(portal.wwctx_api.get_host, ':')-1))
    || '%3A'
    || substr(portal.wwctx_api.get_host,
    (instr(portal.wwctx_api.get_host, ':')+1));
    end if;
    v_looplink := 'http%3A%2F%2F'
    || v_host
    || '%2Fportal%2Fpage%3F_pageid%3D'
    || p_siteid
    || '%2C'
    || p_pageid
    || '%26_dad%3D'
    || portal.wwctx_api.get_dad_name
    || '%26_schema%3D'
    || portal.wwctx_api.get_product_schema
    || '&p_containerpageid='
    || p_pageid;
    v_url := portal.wwctx_api.get_base_url
    || 'portal.wwv_additem.selectitemtype?'
    || 'p_cornerid=' || p_pageid
    || '&p_siteid=' || p_siteid
    || '&p_regionid=' || v_region
    || '&p_looplink=' || v_looplink;
    htp.p('<a href="' || v_url || "><img src="/images/additem.gif"</a>');
    exception
    when others then
    htp.p('error');
    end;
    Once the procedure has been created, grant EXECUTE permission to PUBLIC.
    Step 2: Create a custom item type
    This custom item type will be associated with the PL/SQL procedure created above. Placing an item of this type on a page will give the content contributor something to click on while the page is in view mode to call the add item wizard.
    Go to the Procedures tab of the new item type and associate with PL/SQL procedure.
    Ensure the “Display Procedure Results With Item” checkbox is checked.
    Step 3: Add item of type “Add_Item” to a page.
    1.     Configure the Page Group to allow items of your new type to be added
    2.     Add an item of type “add_item” to your page.
    3.     For the region containing your new item, in the properties, ensure the “Associated Functions” attribute is in the Displayed Attributes list.
    Edit Item
    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
    This code sample draws an Edit icon for content contributors to click on while the page is in view mode to edit the item with the default Edit Item wizard.
    Step 1: Create a PL/SQL procedure
    Create or Replace Procedure <schema>.EDITITEM_URL
    p_itemid IN VARCHAR2,
    p_pageid IN VARCHAR2,
    p_siteid IN VARCHAR2)
    as
    v_looplink varchar2(2000);
    v_url varchar2(2000);
    v_subtype varchar2(2000);
    v_itemtype varchar2(2000);
    v_catid varchar2(2000);
    v_catcaid varchar2(2000);
    v_parentid varchar2(2000);
    v_host varchar2(2000);
    begin
    select subtype
    ,itemtype
    ,category_id
    ,category_caid
    ,parent_item_id
    into v_subtype
    ,v_itemtype
    ,v_catid
    ,v_catcaid

    from portal.wwsbr_all_items
    where id = p_itemid and
    caid = p_siteid;
    if instr(portal.wwctx_api.get_host, ':') = 0 then
    v_host := portal.wwctx_api.get_host;
    else
    v_host := substr(portal.wwctx_api.get_host,
    1,
    (instr(portal.wwctx_api.get_host, ':')-1))
    || '%3A'
    || substr(portal.wwctx_api.get_host,
    (instr(portal.wwctx_api.get_host, ':')+1));
    end if;

    || '%26_schema%3D'
    || portal.wwctx_api.get_product_schema
    || '&p_containerpageid='
    || p_pageid;
    v_url := portal.wwctx_api.get_base_url
    || 'portal.wwv_edit_tab.edititem?'
    || 'p_thingid=' || p_itemid
    || '&p_cornerid=' || p_pageid
    || '&p_siteid=' || p_siteid
    || '&p_subtype=' || v_subtype
    || '&p_itemtype=' || v_itemtype
    || '&p_topicid=' || v_catid
    || '&p_topicsiteid=' || v_catcaid
    || '&p_cornerlinkid='
    || '&p_parentid=' || v_parentid
    || '&p_action=update'
    || '&p_currcornerid=' || p_pageid
    || '&p_language='
    || portal.wwctx_api.get_nls_language
    || '&p_looplink=' || v_looplink;
    htp.p('<a href="' || v_url || "><img src="/images/ed-item.gif"</a>');
    exception
    when others then
    null;
    end;
    Step 2: Associate Procedure with Item Types
    For every item type that you wish to supply an edit icon to show while the page is in view mode, call the EDITITEM_URL procedure created in the step above.
    Step 3: Show Associated Function attribute
    In order for the procedure associated with the item type to execute, you must ensure the region properties are set on the Style/Attributes tab have the Associated Function listed as one of the Displayed Attributes.

  • How to add URL links in XML file?

    Hi,
    I'm having problem with adding the URL links to the flash output. I'm using the XML file to call images and then the corrsponding links. Images are called correctly but when I try to add a link I'm not getting the links, but instead getting the HTML anchor tags as texts. I'm using the XML escape characters to escape the HTML tags but the results are not what I need.
    I'm using the following code:
    <thumbnail preview="large.jpg" thumb="thumb.jpg">
                <title><![CDATA[Finance Services]]></title>
                <discription><![CDATA[&lt;a href=&quot;http://www.google.ca">Google</a>]]></discription>
    </thumbnail>
    Output:
    Images are displayed correctly, but instead of getting the links, I'm getting following text message:
    <a href="http://www.google.ca">Google</a>
    I need to find out what I'm doing wrong. Am I using the correct way to add the links or not?
    Thanks for your time.

    I'm using following code for the Description part, where I need to place the HTML tags:
    var _discription:TextField = previewHolder.discriptionText.discriptionText;
    _discription.htmlText = _xml.thumbnails.thumbnail[photoNum].discription.toString()
    I'm using the htmlText, I tried replacing htmlText with tf.htmlText, but it didn't work. I'm importing the text field using import flash.text.TextField; do I need to import something for HTML tags to work?

  • Add url link in "lightbox style" js gallery

    Hello,
    Can someone help me add a url link in the image description? I am using an "overlay" gallery (prettyphoto) and want viewers to be able to visit a site instead of going to the next image when clicked on images that are websites.
    CSS Code I am using:
    <li><a href="images/work/work-full1.jpg" rel="prettyPhoto[1]" title="Trade Show Panels - 2011"><img src="images/work/work-thumb1.jpg"></a></li>
    <li><a href="images/work/work-full2.jpg" rel="prettyPhoto[1]" title="Local Resource Website - Lake Wylie, SC"><img src="images/work/work-thumb2.jpg"></a></li>
    and so on...
    View gallery in action here:
    click on the work tab.

  • Can't add URLs to "Get Specified URLs"

    Hey. I've been making a 57-step workflow to get, download and rename each of my Google Calendars. This was working fine, but it hit some kind of snag at step 22. On reloading the workflow, I find that Automator has DELETED the content of all of my "Get specified URLs" actions. That means I have to add those URLs about 13 times again!
    Except I can't. When I click the + button, nothing happens. I cannot re-add the URLs at all.
    What a complete waste of my time. Any ideas please?
