Adding a check box to my page clears the value in a hidden field on page 0

Hello, I hope that someone can assist me. I have a page that has multiple submit buttons on it. When I click a submit button the page refreshes to render the new content. I have a hidden field, and its region is set to one on page 0. Without any check boxes on my page, I can set a value in the hidden field, and it remains there even if I click on any submit buttons. If I put a check box on the page and then press a submit button, the value is cleared in the hidden element which is not desired. I did notice that in this case with the check box, if I refresh the browser the hidden field value is not cleared. Perhaps the page is being rendered differently after the submit because of the checkbox. Does anyone have any ideas of what is happening?

That doesn't sound right. Adding a checkbox shouldn't have that effect. Please try to reproduce this on htmldb.oracle.com so we can take a look or post a screenshot of your relevant page components.

Why my JSP page can't get the value of a hidden field

Hi, I got an interesting question here.
I use req.getParameter() method to get a hidden field in Servlet, it works just fine.
However, when I use the JSP to catch the value of that hidden field, JSP just can't, but if I change the type from hidden to text, it works fine again.
the code is as follows:
there are two jsp pages:game.jsp and GameMonitor.jsp.
In game page:

supurisingly, the result is option=[], which means it didn't catch the value of the p1 submitted by POST method.
Does anybody here can tell what's wrong in the code?

Thank you so much, I also found this error, which makes JSP not able to catch the hidden field, however, if I change it to text type, even the comma exists, it still works. pretty interesting!

Need Help: I need a check box to auto fill a set value in separate text field.

Hi, this is my first time with inserting scripts into a PDF Form.
We have a form that requires the user to check a box regarding medical conditions they have (i.e. Asthma, Diabetes, Hypertension). Later in the form, they have to type out the same condition into a text box. (I know stupid to double document, but it is required). Is there a script that will auto fill the text box when they check the box? For example, if they check asthma, the text box on a later page in the PDF will say "Asthma, controlled." Is this possible?
In addition, if they don't click Asthma, and do click Diabetes, could it add Diabetes to the first text box, but if they check both, it would add Asthma to box 1 and Diabetes to box 2?
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Hi, I'm staring at the code trying to make it work for my needs, which are similar to Austin's.
I have a 16-page form with 2,988 checkboxes in the entire document (a little over 200 in each page besides the first and last page). The last page contains a textbox labled Summary, and it should provide a summary of all the items checked in the document. Theoretically only one page will be populated at a time, so there will be no more than 200 checkboxes checked in the entire document.
Is it possible to use the same code? And do I just put the code under the text in the script that reads:
form1.SummaryPage.SummaryText::calculate - (JavaScript, client)
The JS I am trying to get to work is the following from a post above.

Setting the value of a hidden field in a Visual Web jsf page

I am new to jsf and need some help with the following. I have written a method in the java portion of the jsf page that will get the selection(s) from a listbox and return them as a string. I need to assign the value of that string to a hidden field in the jsp portion of the page, so that I can pass the string as a parameter to a servlet. I have tried the following code in the "button_action", in the java portion of the jsf page, to assign the value of the string, returned from method, to the hidden field:
hiddenField.setValue(string);
This is not working. Any and all help on this matter is greatly appreciated.

Here is the tag for the hidden field when the "hidden field" component is added from the pallette, I addded the "value" and "id". The name of the class is ReportStandard, which extends the AbstractPageBean.

i am building a module pool program in that im using subscreen which is designed as 'selection-screen 0500 as subscreen.'
when we validate the selection screen elements, if it come acrosses any error condition it disables every field in theselection-screen enabling the error field(error value is still present). this works fine here.
but i need to clear the values present in that field.to retain the values im using memory ids.
solution required immediately.

Use FREE MEMORY.
FREE MEMORY deletes the entire ABAP memory including all the data that was exported with EXPORT TO MEMORY ID key.

Is there a way to automatically align and make same size of check boxes/ radio-buttons like in the image below?

I create PDF forms on daily basis for multiple people around but still, I create a table in Word and then manually convert it to PDF. I'm using Acrobat X and then I manually create radio buttons or check boxes in each cell of the table so aligning those buttons or check-boxes in the same line is a problem. I know there would be some solution to this but can anyone guide me to that? Also, making the same size of the radio-buttons of check boxes likewise ? ? ?
Please see the image above and advise how to align them in the same line and how to make them same size using Acrobat X?

You should create these fields using the Place Multiple Fields command, so that they are aligned properly and all the same size. Read about it here:

first create text for a particular cell.
In that we have a text editor in that text editor we have symbols in include menu.
whatever the symboll u want to put to ur cell . just assign it.

Check box only visible when data is entered in two other fields

My form has a table in which one column's cells are check boxes. I would like the check boxes to be only visible when both the quantity and unit price cells are filled out.
If I use the following script to hide the checkbox, it becomes my Amount??? which is the column right next to it.

I am putting the script in the initialize event of the table.

The initialize event only fires once the form is opend, not afterwards when the fields values are changed.
You need another event such as layoutReady.

I'm unable to understand your description clearly. Try to explain it better. Give precise steps that you intend to follow and I should be able to help you further.
So you have a page1.
You hit submit from page1.
That goes to the cgiserver.
From the cgiserver, programmatically load up the jsp.
search this for the text field.
Display it on your page2.
Is that what you are trying to do?
BTW, won't be able to help you with cgi scripting at all. Can help with Java and Jsp.

If you use 2005, you can use the Formdata Event and catch the FORM_DATA_ADD event... In there you can clear the data

You may want to read about the Partial Page Refresh (PPR) capabilities in ADF Faces. You can make the selectInputDate's partialSubmit property "true" and then cause the specific components you wish refreshed have their partialTriggers property set to the ID of the selectInputDate.

Meghasyam.You'll want to have a wrapper class as suggested above, which has a "selected" boolean in it. Then use the "binding" attribute of the h:selectBooleanCheckbox component to bind the checkbox to that property... Make the property public and specify the properties exact name in the binding... bindings do not append "get" to the EL.
Here is an example of what your table might look like... This code would display the list of names with a checkbox to the left of each name... When the check box is selected, the "selected" property of that wrapper class is set to true or false as needed. Then when the form is submitted, and you are inside your actionListener or action method call, you can look through your collection of wrapper classes asking each one if it was selected or not... Then do whatever you want with them... In this example, replace "myBackingBean" with the name of your backing bean, and "names" with the name of the method in your backing bean which returns the collection of wrapper classes... create a flag "public boolean selected" or similar in your wrapper class..

When you are importing from data dictionary , please try the following
(1)in screen painter once you click the import from dictionary
(a) select the field you want as checkbox
(b) you can see if you scroll sideways an option like
Radiobutton/checkbox etc for the same field
(c) Choose the checkbox option
(d) use the "Tick" on the table control
(e) Drag and drop to your screen
(2) Activate your screen
(3) Run the transaction again
