Adding a link to an image.. Help!

I use Dreamweaver and I was able to add a link to an image on
my site. The link directs people to a video. The problem is, it
works perfectly in IE, but in the Foxfire browser when I click on
the image, a new blank page opens and then the video pops up on
windows media player.
In IE, the page stays the same and just the windows media
player pops up.
Why would it work differently in Foxfire?

The reason will be that IE has a setting to handle the videa
but FF is very
modular and so will not.

  • Adding a link to gallery images

    I have an additional value of '"LINK" in my photos.xml file
    and would like the href to also change dynamically along with the
    mainImage during a slideshow. Any help is greatly appreciated.
    This only pulls the first row.
    <a href="{@link}" id="Link"><img id="mainImage"
    alt="main image" border="0" src=""/></a>

    I have managed to open the page in an html editor, but unfortunately, to keep the style constant, it means a lot of futzing around, like changing the page settings. Also, it is very difficult to get rid of the default underlined text, as I am not all that familiar with complex css coding and the way some of these html editors work. It is easy enough to just type the text in the main thumbnail caption block which is relatively easy to do, paste the link into the inspector of the html editor (I used Adobe Golive) and change the page settings so the text matched nicely.
    I would much rather Apple do a revision on Aperture to include this possibility as a metadata object (or am I missing something!)
    I must say that 1.5 is a great improvement, and I have begun using the application in earnest. I love the nice clean style sheets, and also the way the pages are numbered, and the data generated for the web is compact.
    Good one, Apple

  • Mail 3.6 Adding Link to Graphic Image

    In the Edit menu of Mail 3.6, there is an option to add a link to text or a graphic. I've assigned a link to a graphic, however when I click the graphic, the link has been modified and the URL is incorrect. Is this a bug?

    You cannot add a link to an image. It's for text only.

  • Can we place a link of an image in Eloqua editor?

    I want my managers to add the images on landing page that are not store in Eloqua. Is there any way we can place the link of the image in Eloqua editor?

    Hi Hammad,
    You can do this by adding a text box to your landing page, right clicking it, and selecting "Edit Source". In the source code, you can specify the link of your image, like this:
    <img src="http://imageurlgoeshere.jpg">
    You'll need to make sure the dimensions of the text box are as big as or bigger than the dimensions of your image so the image doesn't get cut off.
    Hope this helps!

  • Disable link for a Image in Content editor web part

    Hi
    i want to disable hyperlink for a banner added using content editor web part. Instead of hiding using Target Audience, i want to disable the link.
    Please help me how can i achieve this?
    regards,
    Vinay
    Thanks and Regards, vinnu

    Hi Vinay,
    I recommend to disable the link for an image using Jquery in Content Editor web part.
    First, you need to use F12 tool in Internet Explorer(IE) to get the html tag for the image, and you’d better find the class or id value for the tag of the image.
    For example, if the class for the image is test, then the code should be:
    <script type="text/javascript" src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.8.2.js"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    $('.test').click(function(e) {
    e.preventDefault();
    </script>
    You can also paste the code of the image here for further research.
    Best regards.

  • Gallery - Link from large image

    Having started with the spry image gallery, I am having
    trouble adding a link using the large image. Anyone know how to
    extract the image ID and make it a link for the large image to go
    to a detail page.

    Hi Henry,
    Here's a way how to do that:
    1. Add a js function that sets a new url for the image
    onclick everytime the source of the image changes. Add it in the
    head of the page (right after the XMLDataSets declarations):
    // this function is called every time the source for the main
    image is changed
    function SetMainImageLink(curRow) {
    var img = document.getElementById("mainImage");
    if (!img)
    return;
    var path = 'product_detail.cfm?ID=' + curRow["@path"];
    img.onclick = function() {
    window.location.href=path;
    2. open gallery.js file and locate this function: "function
    ShowCurrentImage()"
    3. call SetMainImageLink from within ShowCurrentImage. Here's
    the full source for the modified function ShowCurrentImage()):
    function ShowCurrentImage()
    var curRow = dsPhotos.getCurrentRow();
    SetMainImageLink(curRow);
    SetMainImage("galleries/" +
    dsGalleries.getCurrentRow()["@base"] + "images/" + curRow["@path"],
    curRow["@width"], curRow["@height"], "tn" + curRow["ds_RowID"]);
    4. (optional) you can edit the img tag and add a style on it,
    so it display a hand cursor when you mouse over it.
    <img id="mainImage" alt="main image"
    style="cursor: hand; cursor: pointer;"/>
    Hope this helps you,
    best regards,

    It's not a link, its an icon that indicates the photo cannot be found in the location where PSE expects it. This happens because you either renamed, moved or deleted the photos outside of PSE. To fix the problem, use File->Reconnect (you will have to find the actual file in one of your folders), and in the future, no more moving, renaming or deleting photos outside of PSE; if you MUST rename or move photos, do so from within PSE.

    The way you had your code originally would be correct...
    var link_one:link1;
    link_one = new link1();
    addChild(link_one);
    The 1046 error is indicating it doesn't recognize the link1 class.  So the first thing you need to make sure of is that you have assigned the link1 class designation to whatever symbol that is in the library.

  • Insert Link and Insert Image broken in Chrome

    The Insert Link and Insert Image buttons have been broken in my Chrome for at least the last couple of days (latest version, 32.0.1700.72 m, Windows 7 64).
    When you click one of the buttons, the overlay window appears with a title, but it is otherwise black with no contents.  (See screenshot below.)
    The buttons work fine in Firefox.  What hasn't helped: deleting cookies, clearing the browser cache, waiting for several minutes for their content to appear.

    Whtat are we supposed to Claudio? All descend on Adobe with  clubs and try to beat some sense into someone!
    The fact is the customer is no longer the prime concern. Most companies don't give a Rats behind (toned down to prevent censors action) about the customers. It's the almighty dollar. Screw as many customers as they can while they can and line their pockets with all the green backs  as they can while they can. Then if the cusomers leave so be they take their money and run.
    Customer use to have power, they would speak loud and frequently and get things  fixed. And what with people from other countries now owning US companies, That were brought up with different moral compasses. They have no concept of this thing of loyalty to customers. The customer can jump off a cliff and they will simply cheer them on while the do so.
    We have lost, the fight can't be won. It no use. So Pat and others are right.
    I've been trying for 15 years for adobe to fix the issue of having multiple Pdfs created from Office documents because the claim they can't figure out how MS does Page and section breaks. And the issue of Weblinks not being active when converted to PDF's Both on Mac's yet on PC's there is no issue. I quite this year after I received a down right nasty not from Adobe say they didn't have any interest in fixing the bugs and were not about to try. What it amounted was go take a flying leap.
    They have the ability. They have beenblaming Its apple because they don't do such and such , or Microsoft because they don't do so and such. On the Links issue Saying MS doesn't provided the necessary hooks in the mac version of Office. They do you can take a Word document created on a Mac and open a PC and create a PDF and the links will be active. You can Open a Word Document in Apple's pages and all links created in Office document will be there.  The argument has been proven several different ways to be a an outright bald-faced lie. The defect is squarely with the Mac version of Acrobat.
    So Pat and others are right. Just throw in that towel. Adobe support of its customers is now 10 times worse than intuit's which is supposed have the lowest reputation of any software compny that ever existed.

  • How do you add a link to an image item

    I have added an Image Item to a page and want to be able to add a link to that image but dont see any where you can put the link in the Image Item properties

    One easy way to do this would be to add an image page, upload your image to the page, then create an html portlet with the appropriate tags to refer to the image and your link.

  • Links in cycling images: AA example.

    Hello board,
    I've learned how to use PS3 to have multiple links within an image (via image slicing) and get the image up on a website and link the "html and image" files up (it's a pain, but interesting stuff).  What I'd like to do, however, is have an animated GIF cycle through a couple of images and each image itself is a link.
    Example: http://www.aa.com/homePage.do
    Several images/offers are cycled through and each image has it's own link.
    I also have Image Ready on my computer if that helps.
    Edit: In simple terms, what I'm trying to do is have each frame in an animated GIF be a link somewhere, and each frame-specific link to be there only
    when its frame is having it's turn in the rotation. If such a thing is not possible, then this may be a good idea for future development of PS.

    That being said, our topic is yet another reason to get Flash so I'll use it as leverage down the road.
    The AA example does not use Flash. You don't even need Dreamweaver to include the javascript to accomplish this. A plain text editor can do.
    For more info, check out a web design forum.

    There's no need to travel down a road when you can do this today with tools you already have.

  • Adding "loading" movieclip to dynamic image gallery?

    Hello again,
    I've completed my XML-driven image gallery, however upon live testing I'd realized I made a rookie mistake and not put some kind of placeholder "loading" movie clip loop while the thumbnails—and subsequent full-size images—are being loaded. The images will randomly appear when loaded and I would like to be able to insert a placeholder movie clip while they load, and swap them up with the thumbnails/images after it has been loaded. The placeholder movie clip is in my library (loadingLoop), but I'm having problems getting it to work correctly.
    Below is the original function that processes the XML and adds the thumbnail images; this is where I'm trying to insert the placeholder movie clip per XML child node (every attempt I've made just keeps throwing more errors, so I've omitted my attempts to avoid confusion), and I've attached the XML file for testing. And insight or help would be appreciated.
    //Locate the external XML file and trigger xmlLoaded when complete
    xmlLoader.load(new URLRequest("data/artGallery.xml"));
    xmlLoader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, xmlLoaded);
    //Load the XML and process the image locations
    function xmlLoaded(event:Event):void {
        xml = XML(event.target.data);
        //parse the nodes in the XML file
        xmlList = xml.children();
        //count the number of nodes in the XML file via XMLList
        trace(xmlList.length());
        //loop to load all of the thumbnails, based on the number of nodes in XMLList
        //"i" = every child node in the XML file
        for (var i:int = 0; i < xmlList.length(); i++) {
            //Add loadingLoop movie clip per node and wait for thumnail to load before swapping out with imageLoader thumbnail images <-- help!!
            //for every node, create a new instance to be put on stage
            imageLoader = new Loader();
            //load each thumbnail from its location per XML node's "thumb" attribute
            imageLoader.load(new URLRequest(xmlList[i].attribute("thumb")));
            //position of thumbnail instances per XML node (horizontally across stage)
            imageLoader.x = i * 110 + 10;//thumbs are 100 x 100 so, +10 to the width, plus +10 from left edge
            //imageLoader.y = 10;
            //for each node in XML list, name the instance with the path to the location of the full size image
            imageLoader.name = xmlList[i].attribute("source");
            //for each node in the XML list, add a drop shadow
            imageLoader.filters = [thumbDShadow];
            //add thumbnails to stage
            addChild(imageLoader);
            dropTween = new Tween(imageLoader, "y", Bounce.easeOut, -100, 10, 1, true);
            //set up thumbnails to wait for a click to execute showPicture
            imageLoader.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, showPicture);
            //set up thumbnails to scale when rolled over
            imageLoader.addEventListener(MouseEvent.ROLL_OVER, sizeUP);

    Somehow I had a feeling this wouldn't be a copy-and-paste job for the full-size images. Sorry to be a bother. This is the showPicture function that is fired off when the thumbnail image is clicked (from our previous example). Two errors are thrown:
    When the thumnail is clicked:
    "Error #2007: Parameter child must be non-null.
        at flash.display::DisplayObjectContainer/removeChild()
        at MethodInfo-51()"
    But the full-size image loads nonetheless. The second loading loop (loadingLoop2) is not removed. Below is the showPicture function:
    //Load the full-size images and place onto the stage
    function showPicture(event:MouseEvent):void {
        //add new movie clip container
        var mc2:MovieClip = new MovieClip();
        addChild(mc2);
        //clear the fullLoader—this is to help clear any full-size images that may already be on the stage (they have two options, click a new thumbnail, or close the current full-size image
        fullLoader.unload();
        //re-create the fullLoader, if there was one cleared
        fullLoader = new Loader();
        //load each full size image from its location per XML node's "source" deliniated by mc.ldr's "source" attribute
        fullLoader.load(new URLRequest(event.target.name));
        //add the loder to the container
        mc2.addChild(fullLoader);
        //create new instance of second loading loop
        mc2.fsloop = new loadingLoop2();
        //add the second loading loop to the container
        mc2.addChild(mc2.fsloop);
        //for each container, add a drop shadow
        mc2.filters = [fullDShadow];
        //set the container's position center on stage, making it the size of the loading loop until the full-size images are loaded
        mc2.x = (stage.stageWidth - mc2.fsloop.width) * 0.5;
        mc2.y = (stage.stageHeight - mc2.fsloop.height) * 0.5;
        //place container on stage
        addChild(mc2);
        //fade in each container
        fadeTween = new Tween(mc2, "alpha", None.easeNone, 0, 1, 0.5, true);
        //check to see if the image has been loaded completely—this is to make sure the image's attributes can be used to re-center on stage and remove fsloop
        fullLoader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, removeLoop2);
        //set field to multiline so that the <br> HTML tags can be used
        imageTextField.multiline = true;
        //add text frame for description
        imageTextField.x = 10;
        imageTextField.y = 125;
        //for each full-size image, load the description text from the XML child nodes
        for (var j:int = 0; j < xmlList.length(); j++) {
            //check to make sure that the correct full-size image matches the text node when clicked
            if (xmlList[j].attribute("source") == event.target.name) {
                //add each child node as a separate line in the same text field; added HTML tags for CSS application
                imageTextField.htmlText = "<p><span class = 'projectName'>" + xmlList[j].child("projectName") + "</span><br>"

                + xmlList[j].child("projText") + "<br>"

        function removeLoop2(event:Event):void {
            //re-position the container to center on stage to accomodating the full sized image
            mc2.x = (stage.stageWidth - fullLoader.width) * 0.5;
            mc2.y = (stage.stageHeight - fullLoader.height) * 0.5;

            event.target.loader.parent.removeChild(MovieClip(event.target.loader.parent).loadingLoop2 );
        //set up full-size images to "self close" by clicking on it
        mc2.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, clearStage);
    The second error gets thrown when the container is clicked and the function clearStage is executed, which does not remove the container:
    "TypeError: Error #2007: Parameter child must be non-null.
        at flash.display::DisplayObjectContainer/removeChild()
        at artGallery_v1_5_fla::MainTimeline/clearStage()"
    This is the clearStage function:
    //Allow full-size image to "self close" by clikcing on it and removing the text description
    function clearStage(event:MouseEvent):void {
        //clear the fullLoader
        fullLoader.unload();
        //remove the container
        event.target.parent.removeChild(MovieClip(event.target.parent).mc2);
       //remove the text field
        removeChild(imageTextField);
        //show the instructional text that is on-stage
        galleryInfo_mc.alpha = 1;
