Adding and Removing from Selections

In CS5, Is there a difference between using the Add or subtract from selection in the Control Panel vs. just using the Shift key to add to a selection and the Alt/Option key to remove from a selection? OR are these just different ways to do the same thing?

Ok. So heres' the deal:
When I am using Safari, I have found that many times I accidentally remove and item from the Toolbar (example: Back/Forward buttons, Refresh Button, Address Bar, etc.)
Is there a way that I can lock this so I don't accidentally remove things?

Best practice for adding and removing eventListeners?

Hi,
What is the best practice in regards to CPU usage and performance for dealing with eventListeners when adding and removing movieclips to the stage?
1. Add the eventListeners when the mc is instantiated and leave them be until exiting the app
or
2. Add and remove the eventListeners as the mc is added or removed from the stage (via an addedToStage and removedFromStage listener method)
I would appreciate any thoughts you could share with me. Thanks!

As I understand it, the main concern with removing listeners is to conserve memory. However, I've tested memory use and this is not really an issue for my app, so I'm more concerned if there will be any effect on CPU (app response) if I'm constantly adding and removing a list of listeners every time a user loads an mc to the stage, as compared to just leaving them active and "ready to go" when needed.
Is there any way to measure CPU use for an AIR app on iOS?
(It may help to know my app is small - I'm talking well under 100 active listeners total for all movieclips combined.)

Recommended practice for adding and deleting from a Collection

Are there any suggestions for updating a Collection in a OneToMany ( privateOwned ) Collection? Here is our use case:
1. Retrieve a Source object from the database
2. Remove 1 or more SourceLinks from the sourceLinks Set
3. Add 1 or more new SourceLinks to the sourceLinks Set
4. Update the Source object
The SourceLink object has isPrivateOwned(true).
Adding and Removing things from a Collection seems like a fairly common use case. Are there recommended ways of handeling the above case? I've tried doing the add/remove operation in one transaction as well as removing, then re-fetching, and then adding in separate transactions and haven't had any luck.
Here is the code an test case.

The sourceDao.update() method simply calls entityManager.merge(source). Is it required to flush the entityManager as well?

TMG MBE doesn't have the capability to add network topolgy routes via the TMG MMC. You have to use the ROUTE ADD /P command from a privileged command prompt

Dynamically adding and removing managed servers

Hi,
          I'm experimenting with adding and removing managed servers while applications are running on the cluster. I've written some scripts using weblogic.Admin to do the tasks. It seems that it's working. However, I'd like to confirm that this is supported. I also have the following questions:
          1. Applications running on a cluster are automatically deployed to the newly configured managed server once it is started using startManagedWebLogic.sh. Are there any non-error situations that applications are not started automatically?
          2. To remove a managed server from the cluster, I first shutdown the server gracefully and then delete the server from the domain using weblogic.Admin. Is this the recommended way to do it?
          3. Anything else I need to pay attention to before adding and removing servers?

          2. yes, if the server should be permanently removed. If the server is down for short maintenance, you do not need to remove it from the cluster.

I made a little thing that has to do with badges. Theres 6 badges, and they load out with attachMovie. I want to be able to change the badges, so how would I be able to change things in an array? Like adding and removing numbers in it.

When setting up the email using Apple 'Mail' (version 8.2 (2070.6)) I do not get an option to set up my email as using POP. I can go to Outlook from Microsoft and I get a chance to set my mail up using POP, however I would prefer to use the Apple supplied 'Mail' email programme as I'm using Office 365 and may not want to continue the subscription sometime in the future.
Any advice on setting Mail to POP would be appreciated. A not so Happy Wombat.

You can't remove apps from the purchased list. It's impossible. You can hide them but not delete them from the purchased list.
Tap and hold down on the app icon until it wiggles then tap the X on the icon to delete it, tap the home button to stop apps from wiggling.

Think about how many translations are required to move your avatar, then think how many translations are required to move everything else in the entire world. Depending on whether there is more to translate in your avatar or in the rest of the world, you have your solution.
Not knowing how your system works I can't really suggest anything further but could the collision avoidance be interacting with everything in the world as well? That would increase the workload somewhat.

Hey rbrylawski, just wanted to let you know that my ipad email problems have been solved. Called Apple Sup in OZ, I'm in NZ. Daniel Barber was the support tech from heaven!! I was about to return the ipad but solving this issue reset my faith in phone support.....perhaps until I call a differnet companys phone support eh? Anyhow, for reference the fix is below. My accounts are all POP not IMAP, and the primary smtp server setting had defaulted to have SSL switched on and the port was set to 5XX (something, cant remember). Anyhow, SSL was switched off and the port was swithced to 25. VOILÀ!! Settings/Mail, contacts, calendars/My POP mail account/smtp/primary server/ >>> server on, no username and password, use SSL off, no authentication, Server Port 25 Thanks for having a crack at it. For music that you've purchased from Apple that are on your iPhone you should be able to copy to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases. Also if you are in the US then you should be able to re-download past music purchases for free : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519
For your own music that you've copied, then if you haven't got a backup on, for example, external drives or CDs/DVDs then you could see if any of the utilities mentioned in this old post still exist and work

Remove ":" from select option label(description)

I have a requirement to remove the select option description (which SAP displays by default from the field label maintained in the data element),
I thought the best way to achieve that requirement is by passing "space" to the parameter 'I_DESCRIPTION' to the method IF_WD_SELECT_OPTIONS->ADD_SELECTION_FIELD, however, it turned out that SAP still displays the label from the data element inspite of passing space(blank) to the parameter 'I_DESCRIPTION', to overcome this limitation I have created a data element without maintaining any labels this approach worked expect that SAP still displays ":"(colon) as the label, is there any way to get rid of this ":" too?
As shown above, ":" is still displayed as the label of the date select option. I'm also looking for a way to reduce the distance between the last radio button and the select option, any pointers would be appreciated.

Notification when user gets added or removed from room

Hello all,
I need to periodically synchronize the name of the room members with members of a group of a 3rd party application, i.e. each time a user gets added to a room i need to add the same user id to a special group in a 3rd party application (in my case a user group in the bug tracker application JIRA)
Does anyone know if and how i can get a notification e.g. within a KM service if someone is added to or removed from a group? I can imagine there exists an API how to get the members but this would require me to poll KM to get the room members and i'm pretty sure this won't work well with 10000 rooms

For notification you need to configure "mail Transport"
Go to
System administation -> system configuration -> collaboration -> transport - > mail transport.
Here you maintain the SMTP server IP address.
then members will get notification about room.
