Adding functionality to stand. sap application
hi,
can any body help
how we can add process on value request or search help for a field in standared sap application.
Hi Sai,
If you are asking about to add a new search help , then you can add it by using search help exit .
To read more about search help exits, check here .
A search help describes the standard input help process. In exceptions it could be necessary to deviate in some points from this standard. Such a deviation from the standard can also be implemented with a search help exit.

Calling a RFC function in non-SAP application
Hi,
I can call a RFC function in a .NET application. Here there is no problem.
But if an ABAP program submitted in this RFC then I can not call this RFC?
Can I call an RFC ( it submits another abap program) non-SAP application.
Thanks.Hi Astron,
Could you please close the thread as answered.

Adding functionality to standard SAP program
HI frnz,
Please let me know how to go about my problem....
The problem is as follows
Assumptions:
1.This enhancement will not allow end users to display Street data of employee vendors in XK03 and FK03 (Display Vendor). However it will not blank out change history (if any) related to these changed fields.
2.The Street address display restriction will not be role based.
3.This enhancement is not applicable to other standard transactions (i.e. other than XK03/FK03) or custom programs where address information can be displayed by a user.
Purpose and Description:
There is a need by business to provide Vendor Master Display (XK03 and FK03) access to multiple users. However along with this access users will also be able to view Vendor employee (Account group Z002) House no/ Street address which is considered to be a sensitive information. There is thus a need to restrict user's ability to view Vendor Employee House no/Street address information. Current configurations relating to field status group does not allow to restrict this display access based on specific Account Group. This results in a need to have an enhancement which hides the contents of the fields. This enhancement will blank out the contents from the field on the next screen.
All fields to be blanked in the Street Address.
Thanks is advance..Hi,
I just wanna know a couple of things:
1. Does this limitation to display address of the vendors apply to all user? If not, what is the criteria that should be used to identify whether user A is allowed to display employee address while user B is not allowed?
2. Is there any user assigned to maintained employee vendor and if there any, should he/she be able to maintain address data? (XK02/FK02)
3. Is there any user assigned to create employee vendor and if there any, should he/she be able to create address data for employee vendor? (XK01/FK01)
If you have the answer for above question, then we can start to identify enhancement needed to fulfil your requirement. -
Hello,
in my program a main.vi links to a sub-VI via 'open VI reference' and 'invoke node'. In this sub-VI the function 'Ramp Pattern' is used. The program itself runs normally, but if I build a stand-alone application using application builder I get an error message 'error 1003 occurred ..'. I believe this error is directly related to the build specifications which are as follows: the main.vi is referenced in a main build specification, the sub-VI in its own specification where the target is a LLB.
I appended an example-program that exhibits the error (when executing 'Application.exe' and pressing 'calculate ramp'). The error does not occur when disabling the 'ramp pattern' function and rebuilding the application.
I would rate this to be a bug in the application builder and would appreciate any help on how to solve this problem. However, due to the structure of the whole program the sub-VI has to remain in its own LLB.
Attachments:
RampPattern.zip 198 KBThere can be reasons why a VI might appear broken when loaded from an executable. For example, if you have different versions of the same VI or enum that differ in such a way as to break the calling VI, that can cause a broken arrow when loaded from the executable. If you have DLLs being called and the runtime engine can't find the DLL, that can cause a broken arrow that you might not see otherwise. Finally, there is a bug related to a VI appearing broken when its not.

Custom error message in SAP application log
Is there a way to add a custom error message to the SAP application log without passing the message variables MSGV1, MSGV2, MSGV3, MSGV4 and the Message class and number.
We want to pass a custom message from the BAPIRET2-MESSAGE without giving it a Message class and number. The reason for this is that we are using class based exceptions instead of the traditional message class with errors. When we catch the class based exception, we take the error text of the exception and put in in the BAPIRET2-message and set the BAPIRET2-TYPE as 'E'. Now we want to add this to the SAP application log.
The call to 'BAL_LOG_MSG_ADD' takes a structure BAL_S_MSG which is just like BAPIRET2. However this function builds the entry to the application log use the message variables MSGV1, MSGV2, MSGV3, MSGV4. There is no provision to pass in the BAPIRET2 message.
Add message to application log
CALL FUNCTION 'BAL_LOG_MSG_ADD'
EXPORTING
i_log_handle = app_log_handle
i_s_msg = log_message
Thanks,
JayHi Jay,
Did you see <b>BAL_LOG_EXCEPTION_ADD</b>?
This FM is represented by the structure <b>BAL_S_EXC</b>. This can have various versions as described below:
<b>Data of BAL_S_EXC Structure / Use</b>
<b>EXCEPTION</b> / Exception class from which an exception text
is added to the log. This field must be filled.
<b>MSGTY</b> / Message type (MSGTY) of a T100 message.
This field must also be filled for exceptions.
<b>PROBCLASS,
DETLEVEL,
ALSORT, TIME_STMP</b> / Message or exception attributes, such as
problem class (PROBCLASS, for
example, "very important"), level of detail
(DETLEVEL, from 1 to 9), sort criterion
(ALSORT, unrestricted) and timestamp
(TIME_STMP). These fields can be displayed
in the log (except TIME_STMP).
<b>MSG_COUNT</b> / This attribute is not used for exceptions.
Follow the link below for more details:

What are the different functions used in sap script?
Hi,
What are the different functions used in sap script? What are the parameters used in each Function?
Regards,
Maheshhe print program is used to print forms. The program retieves the necesary data from datbase tables, defines the order of in which text elements are printed, chooses a form for printing and selects an output device and print options.
Function modules in a printprogram:
When you print a form you must used the staments OPEN_FORM and CLOSE_FORM. To combine forms into a single spool request use START_FORM and END_FORM.
To print textelements in a form use WRITE_FORM. The order in which the textelements are printed, is determined by the order of the WRITE_FORM statements. Note: for printing lines in the body, you can also use the WRITE_FORM_LINES function module.
To transfer control command to a form use CONTROL_FORM.

Hi All,
The requirment is to create a Standard SAP Application Log using a Function module 'BAL_LOG_CREATE' and each successfull work order update should create a message in the log using FM 'BAL_LOG_MSG_ADD'. Each failed work order update should result in a exception being added to the log using BAL_LOG_EXCEPTIOn_ADD'.
please guide me on how these FM's should be used for creating the Standard SAP Application log.

Hi ,
we have implemented Siteminder on SAP PORTAL 6 SP16 for authentication.I would like to integrate non sap application in Portal.I could not find any documentaion for setting up non sap application's in portal on which siteminder external authentication is implemented.
can anybody help for getting step by step document.
diff rewards to be givenHi,
if you have access to service.sap.com via S-User, you can download "SAP Enterprise Portal Security Guide" in the portal section. It has dedicated descriptions about SSO-Settings, also about netegrity.
You can also search help.sap.com about "SSO" which gives you overview descriptions.
On SAP Service Net, there is also an pdf "Integrating Security functions" in the Netweaver 2004s Portal section, where the description of the Java API for the PDK is included. This is very helpfull for coding. -

How to generate crystal report in sap application
hi,,
i want to generate crystal report through sap application...
How is it possible ....?
could you help me in details?
Plz help me???????????STEP 1: Like any other add-on project, refer SBO UI and DI COM to your project. Initialize SBO APPLICATION object and SBO COMPANY object and listen to events. (This is standard add-on project steps)
STEP 2: Add a Dataset to the project. This is used as a data source to your Crystal Reports. (For more information on this search for Push Technique Crystal Reports)
STEP 3: Add a Windows Form to your Project.
STEP 4: Add a Crystal Report Control to it.
STEP 5: Design report based on dataset added above.
STEP 6: Launch this Form with required parameters and selection criteria when any even happens.
Remember there is lot stuff available on net if you search with PUSH TECHNIQUE CRYSTAL REPORT. SAP SDN has lot answers for adding Crystal Reports integration to SAP Business One Add-On.

How to use matlab codes in a stand alone application without matlab license?
Hi,
I am not an expert in programming and i don't know about C++, i have a program using matlab codes and now i want to transfer it to a computer without matlab license. I've read something about using DLL, but i think i have to know C++ programming to wrtie "WRAPPER" and add some lines to the program, now transformed in C++.
I just would llike to know that really isn't any other way to integrate matlab for a stand-alone application? i read somethings in Matlab help about using COM (Common Object Model ) but i am not sure that labview works with it, and also about runtime engine and "mglinstaller.exe".
my labview version is 8, matlab is 2006, and the real problem is using matlab codes in another computer without matlab license.
Thanks
AmirHello Amir,
There is a MatLab script node in the LabVIEW function palette (see screenshot of the help topic) but as you can see this structure is not in the "Base LabVIEW", you might need to purchase the FDS (Full Developpment System) or the PDS (Professionnal Developpment System) of LabVIEW...
Do you know which one you have ?
Hope this helps

Download PDF File from Archiv to SAP Application Server
Hi,
I need to download the PDF file from an NAST-Dataset (how is stored from the message via SAP ArchivLink) to the SAP Application Server.
1) At first i read the Archiv-Link data via function module WFMC_GET_ARCHIVE_OBJECT_TYPE
2) Then i get the Connection-Infos via function module ARCHIV_GET_CONNECTIONS_INT
3) Now i read the file from archiv as table via function module ARCHIVOBJECT_GET_BYTES
4) Save to the SAP Appl.Server via:
- OPEN DATASET ld_dpfad FOR OUTPUT IN BINARY MODE
- LOOP and TRANSFER lf_archivobject TO ld_dpfad.
- CLOSE DATASET ld_dpfad.
In the dialog of NAST-Dataset (Messages) i can open the PDF-File without any errors (display originals). But after the filetransfer to the SAP Appl.Server i get the following errors during the file opening dialog from Adobe Acrobat Reader:
- the embedded font u201CArialu201D cant to be extract
- not enough data for the picture
The reader can display the PDF-File but only without the picture (Logo) and with alternative font.
The same transfer from archiv and sending as an attachement to the BOR-Object via function module SO_DOCUMENT_INSERT_API1 works very fine and without any errors.
Can any one please help me to solve this Issue?
Thanks in Advance,
ThomasHello Keith,
Many thanks for your answer.
In the past i didnu2019t need the BINARCHIVOBJECT-Parameter and so i overlook this option.
Now, the File looks a little bit different, but only in the STREAM-section.
During the Fileopen-Dialog i get only one message now - "not enough data for image" and the image will not displayed. The rest seems to be correct.
The relevant coding is now:
ld_doc_typ = pf_connections-reserve.
CALL FUNCTION 'ARCHIVOBJECT_GET_BYTES'
EXPORTING
archiv_id = pf_connections-archiv_id
archiv_doc_id = pf_connections-arc_doc_id
document_type = ld_doc_typ

offset = ld_offset
IMPORTING
binlength = ld_length
offset = ld_offset
