  • Webcenter portal app globalization - howto

    Hi,
I'm looking for a good guide/tutorial on Custom Webcenter portal app globalization. Webcenter dev guide also doesn't seem to be comprehensive about that.
I found very straightforward video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ha6FzOkVc24 however it refers to some additional files with code snippets I cannot download anywhere.

    Hi,
Okay, I know I should use resource bundles for everything. I tried to follow video tutorial mentioned earlier (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ha6FzOkVc24):
    - added xlff PortalBundle
    - translated some af:outputText labels on page template
Now when I try to run my portal in JDeveloper I got following exception:

I tried to duplicate PortalBundle.xlf as PortalBundle_en.xlf, but it doesn't help. What am I doing wrong? Please note that comparing to mentioned tutorial, I don't have phase listener nor ApplicationBean registered.
But what next - how can I implement language selection control and pass information about selected language to taskflows defined in my ADF library?
Concerning 2) - I'm not sure what do you mean - why can't I follow instructions from the video on localizing navigation (starting from 7:04) - seem to be pretty straightforward.

  • Can't get simple Struts app to work when using DCs

    Hello,
I need to use Struts to develop web apps. I took a simple example app of 3 screens and was able to get it working fine in local development.
Then I tried to do same thing using DCs in a Track. The first page of the app is a jsp called login.jsp. That file has the following two lines at the beginning:
    <%@ taglib uri="/WEB-INF/struts-html.tld" prefix="html" %>
    <%@ taglib uri="/WEB-INF/struts-bean.tld" prefix="bean" %>
This works fine in local development. However in the DC I get the following error when I try to run login.jsp:
Application error occurs during processing the request.
Internal error while parsing JSP page C:/usr/sap/J2E/JC00/j2ee/cluster/server0/apps/com.firstenergycorp/pilot_webapp~strutsear/servlet_jsp/struts/root/login.jsp.
Details:   com.sap.engine.services.servlets_jsp.lib.jspparser.exceptions.JspParseException: Tag library descriptor cannot be found for uri:{1}.  The ID of this error is
    Exception id: [000F1FCC15FA00450000000F00000CA4000400A8BC089FE5].
The struts-html.tld and struts-bean.tld are both in the WEB-INF folder of my Web Module DC.
So why am I getting this error?
Thanks in advance for any help.
    David.

    David,
we are using Struts in our application without any problems. But we don't deploy via JDI but build the ear-files in Netweaver Studio and deploy with SDM.
I guess the tag libs are not added properly to the war file of your productive environment. Can you check whether they contain the files in the correct path ?
And you shouldn't mix Tag Libs and struts.jar of different versions (e.g 1.0 + 1.2). That will result in the very same error message.

  • Can u upload .htm file via portal app

i have developed a simple webcenter portal application (11.1.1.6)
    i also have UCM 11.1.1.6
I am able to see contribution folder in my portal app.
Is it possible to upload a local file (c:\sample.htm) from my webcenter portal app TO ucm ???
If yes, then what is the taskflow i should use. i used Folder Viewer and Document Explorer and try upload this htm it gives me a popup with
info ---  Unable to upload document why ?
    thx

Did you check the following documentation -
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/webcenter.1111/e10148/jpsdg_doc_lib.htm#CIHCEACA
Also check the section -29.5 Setting Parameters to Upload Files to Content Repositories
where it is clearly mentioned -
"The Document Manager task flow allows you to upload files into content repositories. Oracle WebCenter Framework uses Apache MyFaces Trinidad to handle file upload from a browser to the application server."
and "To change the default settings of Apache MyFacesTrinidad, you can add three parameters to the web.xml file. To edit this file, open the ViewController project of your application. Under Web Content, open the web.xml file. In the Overview, navigate to Application > Context Initialization Parameters, then click the green plus (+) sign to add the parameters and their values (as described in Table 29-1) or simply update the code in the Source view. After you've made your changes, save the web.xml file, then restart Oracle JDeveloper.
Table 29-1 Apache MyFaces Trinidad Parameters
    Parameter      Description
    UPLOAD_MAX_MEMORY
The maximum amount of memory in kilobytes that a single file can use when uploaded.
    UPLOAD_MAX_DISK_SPACE
The maximum amount of disk space in kilobytes that a single file can use when uploaded.
    UPLOAD_TEMP_DIR
The directory in which the file being uploaded is temporarily stored.
    Provide the necessary information.
Hope it helps you to resovle the problem.

    Hello,
First of all, I detected a mistake in my previous config: instead of adding an ipmp, a "simple" NIC was added to cluster. I rectified that (I created zclusteripmp0 ipmp out of net11):

  • Seek advices on simple web app

    weblogic11g, RDBMS11gr2
skills: PLSQL, and limited in J2EE programming.
I am a DBA for the cust app. I'd like to create a simple web app for our help desk to run a couple of queries against the app's database, and execute a couple of the statements to resolve the issues if found from the queries.
I'd like to deploy the web app war the WL without not requiring additional resources such as named JDBC data sources or JMS queues.
Please advise me what minimum do I have to have to make this simple web app.

  • Simple PageFlow app deployment

    Hi all-
I built a simple pageflow app with a single database control in WLW 8.1. I want
to create a WAR file for deployment to a separate WLS 8.1 server, but the IDE
doesn't seem to help much. So, I copied my web project to a separate directory,
added my control.jar to WEB-INF/lib and went through several rounds of tweaking
the web.xml and weblogic.xml files. I've created my WAR file several times and
after several attempted deploy/test rounds, I'm frustrated. Here's what I've
    run into thus far:
    - Looks like a base WLS 8.1 domain doesn't properly include and initialize log4j
    - I now have log4j in my WEB-INF/lib, but I haven;t fixed it's config yet. Prior
to including this, I received good ol' java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError on it.
    - Looks like a base WLS 8.1 domain doesn't include classes used by the page flow
framework - I'm now stuck on another missing class - com.bea.wlw.runtime.core.dispatcher.AppManager$ReployCallback.
The "wlw" in the name makes me think there's some kind of Workshop dependency
    here.
So - is what I'm attempting simply unsupported? Must I deploy my app in production
to a domain with the workshop extensions?
    Thx for any help.
    Regards,
    R

    Rick,
Applications built using Workshop need to be deployed on a Workshop enabled
server. the IDE helps you in generating an EAR file which can be deployed on
a Workshop enabled server running either in production mode or development
    mode.
The following document has more information on deploying to Workshop built
    apps.
    http://e-docs.bea.com/workshop/docs81/doc/en/workshop/guide/deployment/navDeploymentandClustering.html
    Hope this helps.

  • SM Portal App Pool account permissions

    Hi there
Apologies if this is a stupid question, but I've installed the SM Portal following advice on various articles, and they all seem to say to run the portal app pool as the Service Manager service account. This account is also required to be a local admin on
the service manager server. Isn't this a bit insecure or am i missing something? If anyone knows how to run it as another account with less permissions, then that would be great.
    Many thanks
    Amy

    Hi,
The SCSM service AD account must be added to local Administrators Group on on all machines as it is used to perform the installation : SharePoint Server , SQL Server and Content Server.
In my opionion, the account used to install portal should have permissions for service manager database, and also DW database.
The best way should be use the service account, and I didn't find any official document regarding to this, and most articles use service account to install portal.

But when i try to run the portal component in the CE. it pops out a dialog says " no server defined check your setting". when i developed the portal app in NWDS7.0, i should configue the SAP Enterprise Portal in the preference(i can add portal server there), but in CE i can't add portal server under the SAP Enterprise Portal(or maybe i don't know where can i add it). So is there anybody can tell me what can i do now?

Can I upload a simple iPhone App that all it does is direct the User to a Filemaker Pro URL   fmp://~filename.fmp?$VariableName=Value  This launches Filemaker Go and directs the user to the Database Hosted online

So I want to create a simple native iPhone App that all it does
    is launch
    fmp://~/filename.fmp12?$VariableName=value
This URL will launch the Filemaker Go App
Filemaker Go is a app that the user will have to have
    downloaded already on the device..
The Simple Native app will launch the Filemaker Go.
The fmp  URL has the information where the Filemaker Pro database is hosted
and get  the user where they need to be..
    Help Me please
    iPhone 5s, iOS 8.1.3

That would be software. And, you said "upload." That's "uploading software." Why do you question what you stated?
I don't know where you even want to upload this software. The only way it can be downloaded to a device is through the iTunes store. Do you even know what you want to do?

I just noticed the same. Looking at the following error message it seems to do a version check and based on the results of that check I would think that it's not supported yet.

  • Error while running / creating webcenter portal app

    Hi,
I had a fresh installation of Oracle JDeveloper Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.6.0. I installed the oracle.webcenter.customization_bundle and oracle.webcenter.framework_bundle as well. Now whenever I want to create a new Webcentre Portal App it's missing out the folders like application sources, in Web content it's missing out 'images' and 'oracle' folders.
Now even if i open a webcentre app taken from a different machines and run I'm getting this error.

    How to resolve it?

    Hi,
The path to your JDeveloper installation has a space in it - "D:\Oracle middleware1". This is known to cause issues with the Integrated WLS.
I suggest you reinstall JDeveloper into a directory without space for e.g. D:\Oracle_Middleware_1 or even better a shorter path like D:\OR_MW_1.

  • Jazn-data. xml has 3 errors on newly created portal app

I just created a new portal app and my jazn-data.xml has 3 errors right off the bat.
    1. element attributes not expected
    2. element functions not expected
    3. Element system-policy not expected
Why am I getting these errors.

Are you sure? Cause somebody told me the same thing about my css files. But then somebody suggested I check the ADF Faces Extension and the errors went away and my skins were able to be applied.
Also I created a user how the Portal Framework tutorial told me too and when I login as that user all the files I am bringing in from the content server won't display, all my panel links disappear and I get this error when I log in as content admin:
    oracle.webcenter.content.integration.RepositoryException: Sep 14, 2012 9:53:59 AM oracle.webcenter.content.integration.spi.ucm.UCMBridge getUCMAccessLevel

Caused by: oracle.webcenter.content.integration.RepositoryException: oracle.stellent.ridc.protocol.ServiceException: Could not calculate the user's permissions. User 'contentadmin' cannot be retrieved.

How can I get the current user (com.sapportals.portal.security.usermanagement.IUser?)an the resource context  in a portal component (JSPDynPage)?
    Thanks.

    Hi Jon,
Here is the code to get the current user and resource context in your JSPDynPage:
    IPortalComponentRequest  currentRequest  = (IPortalComponentRequest)pageContext.getAttribute(javax.servlet.jsp.PageContext.REQUEST);
    com.sapportals.portal.security.usermanagement.IUser contextUser = (com.sapportals.portal.security.usermanagement.IUser) currentRequest.getUser().getUser();
    ResourceContext resourceContext = new ResourceContext(contextUser);
