Adding web services to C# application

Hello,
having on mind that I use SQL Server 2008 R2, could somebody help me to perform adding WEB Services as described bellow:
1
ReportServer2005: Namespace: Microsoft.SqlServer.ReportingServices.ReportService2005 URL:
http://servername/ReportServerName/ReportService2005.asmx?wsdl Declaration: ReportingService2005 rs = new ReportingService2005();
2
ReportExecution2005: Namespace: Microsoft.SqlServer.ReportingServices.ReportExecutionService URL:
http://servername/ReportServerName/ReportExecution2005.asmx?wsdl Declaration: ReportExecutionService rsExec = new ReportExecutionService();
I guess that "servername" and "ReportServerName" are those from my local Report Server (i.e., MyLocalComputerName and MyLocalReportServerName).
Purpose of this is to programmatically
perform export of SSRS report to PDF, based on parameter's array.
Thanks!

help me to perform adding WEB Services as described bellow:
Hello,
It depends a Little bit on the used Visual Studio Version. Basically do a right-mouse click on "References" and select
The next steps are a Little bit hidden & confusing: In the next Dialog click on "Advanced..", then add "Web reference" and here you can enter the URL for SSRS SOAP, click on the green arrow and the WSDL data will be retrieved &
shown in the Dialog:

• XI Message Protocol and Value-Added Web Services

Hi,
I have a couple of questions on the above-mentioned topic:
- How is the enhanced SOAP format in XI able to deliver value-added web services (as described in the XI documentation)?
- If the XI format is an enhancement of SOAP, is it again fully open or are there some proprietary pieces to it?
Thanks and Regards,
Bharath

Hi Bharath,
>>> How is the enhanced SOAP format in XI able to deliver value-added web services (as described in the XI documentation)?
value-added web services means that you can monitor
all web services from one place (with the xi monitoring features)
if you're using point-to-point connections without the XI
you have to monitor all of your flows from all those applications and not from just one place

• How to deploy a web service on Oracle Application Server 10.1.2.0.2?

Hi everyone,
I followed the instructions of the following link to create a web service using jDeveloper 10.1.3.1.0 on Oracle Application Server 10.1.2.0.2. [http://st-curriculum.oracle.com/obe/jdev/obe1013jdev/10131/devdepandmanagingws/devdepandmanagingws.htm#t1]
The web service created was deployed & used with no errors on the standalone OC4J instance.
But my goal is to deploy my web service on Oracle Application Server 10.1.2.0.2.
So after several attempts, I was able to deploy it on the Oracle Application Server 10.1.2.0.2 but unfortunately I didn't know the URL needed to use the web service.
I tried the following link (http://192.168.0.91:18100/JavaWebService-GetDates-context-root/GetDatesWSSoapHttpPort) but also didn't work :(
I also tried converting to J2EE 1.3 and still not knowing how to access the web service.
Please advice with a solution.
Thanks in advance.
Lana

Thanks everyone for your help :)
The problem turned out to be that Oracle application server 10.1.2 is unlike the others servers, it uses 2 ports:
- port (19100) is dedicated for the console.
- port (7779) is to view your applications.
So the URL needed turned out to be "http://acteos-109.beirut.acteos:7779/beanTest" instead of "http://acteos-109.beirut.acteos:18100/beanTest"
Hope this info is useful

• Calling web service in Oracle Applications...

Is there any way we can call web services in Oracle Applications?
I am using 11.5.10 verison of Oracle Applications.
Thanks in advance,
Sandra

Hey Ravi,
Thanks for your response. I am not well versed with Java. I am using Forms 6i to achieve this. I dont know what java code do I have to put in the custom directory.
The procedure I am following to call web sevice is as follows:
1. Using the webservice URL(.wsdl URL) I am creating the Java class (web service stub) in Jdeveloper.
2. Deploying this Java class into a JAR file.
3. Then I am placing this JAR file in a directory which was spcified in the LD_LIBRARY_PATH and CLASSPATH including the name of the JAR file.
4.Then I go to Forms 6i and say program --> Import Java Classes in my form, it gets the webservice java class and converts that java class into PLSQL packages.proc/func.
Can you please send me an example how you did this to my email?

Hi Vijay,
Thanks for the Reply.
Please provide the JAR Files i need to add.
I had tried to consume the web service by using the java class in Java Project ie EJB.
After creating the Project i will import the WSDL file in that Project and create the Client Application.
The Request and Response java class is created by importing the WSDL file.
The Client Java Class is created to access the Request and Response objects.
After this Main class is created and I have run the application to execute the Client Java Class. During this time its shows some error.
The Error Message are:

• Publish XDB web service on apex application

Could any one please help me out to use native oracle XML DB web service on apex application.
In apex application, basically i need to have a report that displays all PO requests with links to each request # to drill down to the form page where the vendor are allowed to submit some corresponding data to th PO request.
All i need is to know how do i use the native oracle XML DB web service to show the report to the vendors with drill down links and capture the data, the vendor submits through the form.
Thanks in advance!!
Regards,
Rame

I think you might be on the wrong track. Web services don't "show" anything really. They take in either XML in the case of SOAP-style web services or an HTTP request in the case of restful web services. They typically return XML, but can return JSON or other machine readable formats. Web services don't have forms and reports. More information here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_service . To have a human interact with a web service, you typically have a UI layer. For instance, in APEX you can build a form or a report on a web service (the same is true for most popular web technologies).
In APEX 4.0+ you can expose a report as a restful web service, but I really don't think that is what you want to do. There's no way that I can think of to use the XDB web services to expose any component of APEX.
In short, people interact with web applications, such as APEX apps. Machines, such as databases or application servers, interact with web services.
So, do you need to expose some component of your application as an API (web service) that vendors can call programmatically from some other technology such as Java or PHP? Or do you want to build a web application that people can interact with?

• Error while deploying web service in Netweaver application

Hi,
In my group, two members working in the development of a WebDynpro based application.  We have created a track and are using the same for development. For our application
the team member 1 created a Dc say DC1 for EJBS(both
entity and session) and another DC say DC2 for the application archieve 'ear'
and activated the two DCS. When another member of
the team is trying to create a webservice in the checked out DC, the
webservice was created successfully but while deploying the
application archive DC it gives an error (details furnished below).
Error:
:Caught exception during application deployment from SAP J2EE Engine's

WSDeploymentException: Webservices common deployment exception! The
reason is: Error occurred, trying to parse documentation

So we created one more DC3(referring the entity beans of DC1) and
created the required session bean and webservice in that
DC. It got deployed successfully. Again when we are trying to create
new webservice it got created but the deployment got
aborted with the same error as mentioned above:

Hi,
You can go to the Visual Administrator -> <SID> -> Server -> Services -> Deploy -> Runtime tab -> option Container at the bottom and see if everything is correct and running in the webservices_container.
If something necessary to the deployment is not started you can select it and click in start.
I hope it helps.
Thanks,

• How to call a web Service from Oracle Applications?

Hi friends,
I've posted this question on OA Framework forum , but may be it's more appropiated put it here. Sorry for do it again:
It's about how to call a web service from a Form or a .sql (via Request) in Oracle Applications:
Could you please explain here the detailed steps (with code example if it's possible) to invoke a webservice from Oracle Applications?.. how did yo do it...?
I've read differents posts here and the 33097.1 metalink note (by the way, the first recommended link in this note is broken...), but there are lots of theorical concepts and no real examples to see how/from where invoke the WS
I'll have to call one webservice (I suppose the customer will give me the interface implementation)...but I've never did it with Applications so that's why I ask you for all the detailed steps...
I work with Forms 6i, Apps 11.5.10.2 and DB 9.2.0.7.
Thanks a lot.
Jose.

Hello Jose,
I did using java program to call BPEL web services in 11.5.10.
I pasted below the metalink note for your reference (Note:250964.1)
The idea is first write a java program to call the webservice (in my case it is calling an BPEL web service, so this may not help directly), test it.
Then port the java program as specified in the note, so that you could call your web service through concurrent manager scheduler.
Is this ok?
Thanks
Arun.

How to register and create a Java concurrent program for Oracle Applications
Release 11i
Solution
========
1. Create your Java Concurrent Program (JCP) , using a text editor.
/*===========================================================================+
Concurrent Processing Sample Code

FILENAME
Hello.java

DESCRIPTION
Sample Java concurrent program
About the simplest possible program, just writes a message to the
logfile and output file.

HISTORY
$Log$

+===========================================================================*/
package oracle.apps.fnd.cp.sample;
import oracle.apps.fnd.cp.request.*;
public class Hello implements JavaConcurrentProgram {
public static final String RCS_ID = "$Header$";
public void runProgram(CpContext ctx) {
ctx.getLogFile().writeln("-- Hello World! --", 0);
ctx.getOutFile().writeln("-- Hello World! --");
ctx.getReqCompletion().setCompletion(ReqCompletion.NORMAL, "");
=======================================
End Sample
=======================================
2. Create a sample directory under $JAVA_TOP:
$ mkdir $JAVA_TOPoracle/apps/fnd/cp/sample
3. Copy Hello.java into $JAVA_TOP/oracle/apps/fnd/cp/sample:
$ cp $HOME/Hello.java $JAVA_TOP/oracle/apps/fnd/cp/sample
4. Compile your java program:
javac $JAVA_TOP/oracle/apps/fnd/cp/sample/Hello.java
5. Test at the command line with following syntax:
jre -Ddbcfile=$FND_TOP/secure/your_dbc_file.dbc \
-Drequest.outfile=./outfile \
oracle.apps.fnd.cp.request.Run \
oracle.apps.fnd.cp.sample.Hello
6. Register your custom java concurrent program with Oracle Applications.
a. Navigate: Concurrent > Program > Executable
b. Enter details into the form
Executable: JCPHELLO
Shortname: JCPHELLO
Application: Application Object Library
Execution Method: Java Concurrent Program
Execution File Name: Hello (Insert a name that does not contain space or period)
Execution File Path: oracle.apps.fnd.cp.sample
c. Save the details
d. Navigate: Concurrent > Program > Define
e. Enter details into the form
Program Name: JCPHELLO
Program Shortname: JCPHELLO
Application: Application Object Library
Executable: Choose JCPHELLO from LOV
Executable Options :
f. Save the details
7. Add this new concurrent request to your responsibility request group.
a. Navigate > Security > Responsiblity > Request
b. Query System Administrator
c. Add new row and choose TestJava
d. Save the changes.
8. Run your new Hello Java Concurrent Program
Navigate: Request > Run

• Calling a Web Service from J2EE application running on WebSphere

This may have been answered before, but could not find using multiple searches that I did on this forum.
We are just in the process of using the newly installed SAP WAS 6.40 with J2EE engine and I understand from SAP's documentation that all BAPIs and remotely callable RFCs should be invokable via a Web Service call from remote applications. Couple of questions on this:
1. Is there a documentaion that describes steps to enable BAPIs or RFCs as web services?
2. Is there a documentation that describes steps to invoke a web service that in turn uses BAPI or RFC (code sample).
We are J2EE literates but not familiar with SAP WAS, and not sure if calling/invoking the WS would be similar to calling any other WS from other WS Containers.
Appreciate a response or suggestions.

Hi Bharat,
see this weblog , where it gives the steps to create a RFC and convert it into web service.
/people/thomas.jung3/blog/2005/01/05/develop-a-web-service-that-sends-an-email--in-abap
Invoking WS is similar to calling any other WS from other containers. Either you have to give the WSDL file location or the external UDDI Server address in WebService creation wizard.
The WebService exapmles is also avaliable in help.sap.com
