ADF application to be deployed in exploded mode in weblogic

How can we deploy the ADF Application (EAR) in exploded mode in weblogic server?
i.e I have ADF based application named Application.EAR. How can i deploy it in exploded mode?
Thanks in advance,
Navaneeth

As far as WebLogic is concerned, we take a standard Java EE deployment module, in either archived or exploded form and deploy it. You point the deployment utility (or the console, or the ant tasks or the Maven plugin) at the source of the deployment and WLS will deploy it.
There's nothing specific in what WLS requires for exploded deployment, so this is likely to be more a question specific to ADF as to how it is packaged and able to be deployed. I'd post your question to the ADF/JDeveloper forum to ask those folks specifically.

  • ADF Application error when deploy on WebLogic Cluster

    Hello,
I setup a WebLogic 10.3.5 Cluster, but I have problems to deploy my ADF application (ADF 11.1.2).
    I am getting the following java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/adf/share/logging/ADFLogger
The problem does not occur if I deploy the same application only to the AdminServer.
In order to setup my WebLogic Cluster I followed the process described by Mark Nelson at http://redstack.wordpress.com/2010/12/20/using-weblogic-as-a-load-balancer/
    Any idea?
    Thanks,
    Cristo A.

Have you installed the Oracle JRF template to the managed servers?
The error indicates that you didn't install the adf runtime (JRF template) for your jdev version onto the managed servers.

  • Critical ADF application error after deploy to OAS

    <p>
    Hi,
    </p>
    <p>
I have a problem with ADF application (10.1.3). It works in JDev but after deploy to OAS 10.1.3 when I try to go to page contains a lot of input texts and 2 tables , I get server error  - see it on this image .  It is very strange because this application worked earlier - where OAS uses JDK 1.5.0_08. Now JDK was changed for 1.6.0_01 version. J2EE container has allocate 512 RAM memory Is JDK version may be reason of this error ?
    </p>
    <p>
    Kuba
    </p>

    Hi Kuba,
Do you mean that you changed OAS to use JDK 1.6? I'm pretty sure this wouldn't be supported. If you mean that you used JDK 1.6 to compile the project and then deploy to OAS, I'm pretty sure this wouldn't be supported, either. If you just changed JDeveloper to use JDK 1.6 to run JDev (although for sure this isn't supported), and the project still is targetted to JDK 1.5, this should work. I've had a few sporadic problems in this configuration, though, so I cannot recommend it.

  • ADF Application Deployment

    Hi
I have an ADF Application built in JDev 11.1.1.2.0 and i am able to deploy the application in my managed server. My weblogic server version is 10.3.2.
But when the same ADF Application, i am deploying it from JDev 11.1.1.5.0 into my managed server i am getting below error ---
Weblogic Server Exception: weblogic.management.DeploymentException: [J2EE:160149]Error while processing library references. Unresolved application library references, defined in weblogic-application.xml: [Extension-Name: oracle.adf.desktopintegration.model, exact-match: false].
What will be the possible error for mismatch in lib in my JDev 11.1.1.5.0 and weblogic server?
    Please help !!
    Sudeep

To be clear are you saying you are deploying a JDev 11.1.1.5.0 application against a WLS 10.3.2 server? If yes do you realize each different version of JDeveloper requires a different version of WLS and ADF runtimes to be installed? As such a JDev 11.1.1.5.0 application requires a 10.3.5 WLS server with the 11.1.1.5.0 ADF runtimes installed, not a 10.3.2 WLS server with the 11.1.1.2.0 ADF runtime installed.
More information on these combinations can be found here: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/index-091111.html

  • How to pass environment variables to adf application?

    Hi,
I Created form function with this settings to open my adf application:
    Type : SSWA plsql function
    Maint Mode = None
    Context : Resp
    Web HTML : test.jsp
    Web host: 192.168.1.30:8890
This works fine. But how can I pass environment variables as parameters?
I like to pass username and org_id.
    Thanks in advance

    KdeGraaf,
Sounds real interestign what you are saying. But I don't know what you mean with:"the application server name appended till html folder($COMMON_TOP/html) "
Basically if u make a SSWA jsp function with only jsp name say A.jsp.At runtime the url is automatically converted tohttp://<application server>:<port number>/OA_HTML/A.jsp
By the way $COMMON_TOP/html folder is the location for all jsps' in EBS.
Where can I find some information about making a OAF page wrapper? Because I have totaly now experience with OAF.
Make a OAF page, say page A, in process request of page get all the context data say, responsibility, org etc, and set it in http session. Then redirect the flow to ur ADF application page. If ur new and have no knowledge how do we build a page in OAF, u can download OAF developers guide from metalink. Search old threads u would get get the metalink id.--Mukul

  • How to kill the session after the user exit the ADF application

    Dear all
    I have a problem
The problem is the session still exist after the user close the application and the browser. I want to kill all sessions that is not active.
    This is my test scenario:
1- I open IE and run my ADF application that is deployed on weblogic. http://192.168.100.17:7001/myapp/faces/login
2- At the same time I issue this SQL command to view the sessions for user 'ADFUSER' - the "ADFUSER" is the schema user.
    SELECT USERNAME,STATUS FROM v$session
WHERE USERNAME = 'ADFUSER';QUERY RESULT IS
    USERNAME                       MODULE                                           STATUS
ADFUSER                         JDBC Thin Client                                 INACTIVE3- Now the user close the browser
4- Run the SQL again and I notice that the session still exist
    SELECT USERNAME,STATUS FROM v$session
    WHERE USERNAME = 'ADFUSER'RESULT:
    USERNAME                       MODULE                                           STATUS
ADFUSER                        JDBC Thin Client                                 INACTIVE5- now the user open the URL again http://192.168.100.17:7001/myapp/faces/login
6-Run the SQL again , and I notice that the old session still exists and a new session created too.
    SELECT USERNAME,STATUS FROM v$session
    WHERE USERNAME = 'ADFUSER'RESULT:
    USERNAME                       MODULE                                           STATUS
    ADFUSER                        JDBC Thin Client                                 INACTIVE
    ADFUSER                        JDBC Thin Client                                 INACTIVE
2 rows selected.and every time I login to the application , a new session is open and the old session still exist
I do not know why this happens
I want to kill old session when the user close the application.
These sessions are cleared only when i restart the weblogic domain.
here is some information about my development environment:
    Jdeveloper 11.1.2.3
    WebLogic Server Version: 10.3.5.0
Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.1.0 - 64bit Production
    thanks in advance

    Hi,
for performance reasons you should not use dedicated user connections to the database. Instead you use JDBC data sources (default in JDeveloper for ADF BC) that you can configure the database connection pooling for. This means that your v$session will always show a set of active session, which however are shared among users. Assuming you use ADF BC, this is what happens
    - A user requests a data bound page
    - The ADF BC checks out an AM and connects to the database using one of the database connections in the pool
    ... user work here ...
    - user exits application
    - ADF BC returns AM to pool and passivates pending user state (if application is left with dirty transaction)
    - Database connection is available in pool as soon as AM released
This also happens between requests. Long story cut short: v$session doesn't give you a true picture

    Hi,
I have created web service with data control by providing this WSDL
http://SERVER_NAME/PWA_INSTANCE/_vti_bin/psi/project.asmx?WSDL and some objects and service methods are genreated. Service method has parameters.
How I can use this parameters of service methods to read the data from sql server database and how I can write data back into databases.
When I am dropping this parameter as ADF Parameter form is just input text box without any values. Please give me some direction or links for code I can use to implement the application.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

  • Problem in Deploying ADF Application - development Mode

    hi Experts,
    i have jdev11.1.1.5.0 in a combination with weblogic 10.3.5.
my application is working fine, while running on integrated wls (just give right click and on my jspx page - auto deploying).
if i going with manually deploying option on same intergrated wls or standalone wls means
i can able to get my login page, if i login means it doesnt re-direct to my index page what it would be problem? (it doent replicate this kind of intergrated wls (auto deploying))
    Details of my Application
am not using any adf security. my login page is in session scoped bean , index page - backing bean scoped.
my log shows, your username and password is correct. that means it can able to access my Application Module.
am using adfc - config for redirecting

i maked out sample for deplying an adf application in both Integrated wls and standlone wls. it's fine.
can anyone guide me where am?
    any one had a idea?
while am deploying manually i got dialog "deployment configuration" to deploy.
i got this in my log.
[01:07:44 PM] Entering Oracle Deployment Plan Editor
[01:07:46 PM] No metadata repositories found on target server. Using values found in adf-config.xml. //show this red collor

    + info,
sometimes, i had another problem while login
if i go with manual deployment on integrated wls/ standlone wls
JBO-25002: Definition com.x.x.model.associations.xLogAS of type Entity Association is not found.i had viewlink named "xxxLogVL" in my model layer that viewlink mapped a association named "xLogAS".
both are looking safe while running Business Component broswer and running intragrated wls(auto deploying).
i checked the myApplicationModule.xml no warning on right hand gutter. so what would be the problem.?
somtimes i had this? how can i fix this?
cant come to conclusion? with to two different problem in same project.

    Hi Jhansi,
Whether u create HRconnDS in ur Weblogic server
    If not create it ...
If yes just check it out whether u gave a correct connection string for it......

  • Error while deploying adf application using ant script or jdevloper IDE

    Hi All,
While deploying adf application into cluster weblogic server I am getting strange error though my weblogic server is working fine as I checked it from weblogic console. Seems that there is some heap memory issue but don’t know the exact cause as it work perfectly if I restart the server.
Same error i get when i try to deploy application from Jdeveloper IDE though it created the server connection successfully.
Please help me by provided valuable tips to overcome this problem or any special tips to optimize weblogic server for ADF.
    Thanks in advance

Well, I guess you have a problem here. Check http://multikoop.blogspot.de/2012/12/deploying-adf-applications-into-oracle.html and from this
    >
Note: In its current stage Oracle Java Cloud Service runs WebLogic Server 10.3.6 with the appropriate Runtime ADF 11.1.1.6. Deployment of ADF 11gR2 Applications is currently not supported. Beside this limitation some ADF Features are not supported on the Oracle Cloud. According to the Oracle Cloud Documentation it is not supported to use the following ADF features
    ADF Desktop Integration
    ADF mBean
ADF MDS (Seeded customizations or cross-session personalization)
    ADF Mobile
ADF Active Data Services (=> No real-time ADF Web Apps in Oracles Cloud)
ADF Business Components services interfaces (web services) or events
ADF Data Controls for BI, Essbase, BAM, and JMX
Further there are some restrictions which are good to know I think
No Java Mail API (=>Sending Mails is prohibited)
No File system access by deployed applications (=>Writing files is prohibited)
No Direct use of Oracle JDBC Driver APIs
    No Java Message Service (JMS)
Max Size for deployment archive 95MB

I hope for you that the information from the blog has changes in the meantime (blog is from end of last year). Check the current doc for the cloud ...

  • Deploying an ADF application as part of an EAR

I have an ADF application that should be deployed as part of an EAR. The components of this EAR are assembled in Ant and part of an EAR deployment profile. When I right click on the adfc-config.xml file and choose run, I want JDeveloper to deploy the entire application, not just the webapp. How do I do this? I don't see any clear directions for this. It appears I would have to click on the Application menu and select Deploy which doesn't cause the browser to open when the deployment is complete.

When you right click and choose run a virtual EAR in exploded form is created for you in the system.xx.xx.xx.\o.j2ee\drs\<application> directory. This is equivalent to what you would do when clicking on the application menu and selecting deploy. This is done for you to make debugging and testing an app easier from within JDeveloper. If you look in the online help for"Integrated Weblogic Server" you can find more details on this feature.

  • Problem with links in deployed ADF application to Weblogic Server 11g

    Hi everyone !
I have a query here, firstly, I have created an ADF application using Jdeveloper 11g and have successfully deployed (EAR file) onto the weblogic server.
However, after testing out the application, the linking within the application does not seem to work. Whenever I click on a link or button, the page refreshes but the result is not displayed.
What could have cause the problem?
    Thanks
    Gavin

Are the ADF runtime libraries installed into the WebLogic server?

  • Error while deploying ADF application to a standalone weblogic

    jdeveloper version: 11.1.2.2
Issue: I have built a standalone weblogic server (10.3.5.0) and am trying to deploy my ADF application to it. The deployment fails with the following message. The stand alone server I have built is on the same machine where jdeveloper is installed and I am using same weblogic that came with jdeveloper install. The aplication runs fine on integrated server. I have researched this issue and have got more or less same answer of installing ADF run time libraries. Can someone please help me with exactly what I need to install and how?
    Thanks,
    Saurabh.
