ADF component with Facelets problem

I use oracle ADF with Facelets, almost every components work well, except two problem.
1) <af:table>. If I defined af:commandLink for the column
<af:column>
<af:commandLink action="editTeam" immediate="true"/>
</af:column>
If you want to enter the link in the first row of the table, your click it once and get no response. You must click at least twice , then you will get the response action. All other row work well except the first row.
2) <af:processTrain>, If I define a new skins for processTrain, the image show the processStation will not show up, any idea about how to define a new image in CSS to display the station status?
Best regards,
Sam

Hello Sam. I have a similar problem, only I cannot get any ADF Faces components to display. Their tags are in the JSP's source like so:
<jsp:root xmlns:jsp="http://java.sun.com/JSP/Page" version="2.0" xmlns:af="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces" xmlns:afh="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces/html">
  <jsp:output omit-xml-declaration="true" doctype-root-element="HTML" doctype-system="http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd" doctype-public="-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"/>
  <jsp:directive.page contentType="text/html;charset=windows-1252"/>
    <html>
      <head>
        <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=windows-1252"/>
        <title>testTemplate</title>
      </head>
      <body>
      <af:inputText value="AN inputText"/>
        <h1>Here's my Title</h1>
        <div> Here's My Menu </div>
        <p> Here's My Body </p>
      </body>
    </html>
</jsp:root>

  • ADF Faces with Facelets (Menubar)

    Hello experts,
    i using ADF Faces with the jDeveloper (11.1.2) and currently i have a little problem. The menu bar is not usable when i using facelets. It seems to me that the component isn't working.
    This is my little testproject:
    http://www.axxg.de/Facelets.rar
    Thanks for your help
    Alexander

    Alexandar,
    You could have just explained your problem rather than making us download something.
    You have a few issues:
    1). You are using Facelets templating to include your content and header - however, content and header are full pages, not fragments - thus you have multiple f:view tags and af:document tags (this is why you have problems with the menu not dropping down). Have a look at ADF templates in the documentation if you'd like to see how ADF templating works.
    2) Your menus aren't set to do anything. <af:commandMenuItem text="open" id="cmi1"/> - there is no action/action listener associated with your menu item, so indeed it does nothing - this is what you will see when you fix problem #1

  • Rendered Adf component with Browser Specific.

    Hi

  • Component with Generic Properties

    I am looking for a way to create a component with facelets that can take any generic properties. For instance, if the namespace of my taglib is "myns", I would like to be able to put the following in my xhtml pages:
    <myns:general a="foo" b="bar" somethingCompletelyDifferent="#{helloWorld}" />I would like to reference the property in a template file as follows:
    <h:outputText value="#{generalInstance.a}" />#{generalInstance} evaluates to a ComponentRef instance, so I get a PropertyNotFoundException.
    All the component needs to do is store the properties as it would any normal attribute. Is this possible?
    Thanks,
    David

    I've not really following where "generalInstance" came from in your example.
    If you make a Facelets tag handler based on a file, it will accept any attribute and make it available via EL within the definition file. See the proper section in the [Facelets developer documentation|https://facelets.dev.java.net/nonav/docs/dev/docbook.html#taglib-create-source] for more details.

  • Problems with combination of ADF Faces, Tomahawk, Facelets and MyFaces

    Hello,
    I am trying to combine all things named in the Subject and run into several problems:
    1. ADF Render Kit forces the Tomahawk Components to be rendered in a wrong way or stop there functionality.
    Example 1: The clickable parts of the t:dataScroller Tag can not be accessed because an empty a Tag will be rendered after the outputText.
    Example 2: The t:commandSortHeader Tag can be clicked but the table content will not be sorted anymore.
    The given examples works if i remove the default-render-kit-id element from the faces-config.xml
    2. The ad:table Tag runs into an ClassCastException, only when I put a simple example code snipped into my xhtml file.
    Code snipped:
    <af:table>
    <af:column>
    <f:facet name="header">
    <af:outputText value="Firstname"/>
    </f:facet>
    </af:column>
    <af:column>
    <f:facet name="header">
    <h:outputText value="Lastname"/>
    </f:facet>
    </af:column>
    </af:table>
    The stack trace look like this:

    I followed all steps for the ADF installation and the suggested steps for using ADF with Facelets.
    Used versions:
    - Oracle ADF Faces 10.1.3 Early Access
    - myFaces 1.1.1
    - Facelets 1.1.1
    - oc4j 10.1.2.0.2
    Has somebody try to use these things together, too?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    Inside our fusion applications(ADF/Webcenter) using combination of JSTL and ADF Faces is good practice or pitfal?
    To suggest a a rule of thumb: Try ADF Faces on-board functionality first before reaching out to JSTL. The difference between JSF in general and JSTL is that the JSTL expressions are evaluated at page compile time wheras JSF expressions are evaluated deferred. This difference may have an impact to PPR refreshes and the data rendering (which in many cases I assume you can fix by setting the ADF Faces component content delivery to immediate instead of deferred). On a training slight I flagged JSTL with a "heads up" alert because of this

  • ADF component to display a grid with wrap around

    We need to create a grid of images on a page, such that maximum number of images that can fit in the viewable area are displayed in a row. The remaining images wrap to the next row. One should be able to select one or more images from the grid and drag-and-drop them in the same grid or outside the grid. Any suggestions about the best ADF component that can serve this purpose. Also, wonder if Collection drag-and-drop mechanism is available for components other than <table> and <tree>?. For example, can we use it with <panelList> or <panelForm>?

    this related to css instead of which component to use, following code should work:
    <af:panelGroupLayout id="pgl1" layout="vertical" inlineStyle="width:90%; border:1px solid black;float:left">
         <af:image source="#{resource['images:logo.png']}" shortDesc="Img 1" id="i1"
    inlineStyle="height:60px;float:left"/>
    <af:image source="#{resource['images:logo.png']}" shortDesc="Img 2" id="i2"
    inlineStyle="height:60px;float:left"/>
    </af:panelGroupLayout>
    if you remove af:panelGroupLayout and just use following inside your component
    <af:image source="#{resource['images:logo.png']}" shortDesc="Img 1" id="i1"
    inlineStyle="height:60px;float:left"/>
    <af:image source="#{resource['images:logo.png']}" shortDesc="Img 2" id="i2"
    inlineStyle="height:60px;float:left"/>
    it should still work

  • I want to get a adf component in managed bean with jsff. What can I do?

    I want to get a adf component using FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getViewRoot().findComponent("my component id").
    It's ok in taskflow with jspx, but I can't get the component correctly in my managed bean in taskflow using page fragment.
    The error is "can not find view root".

    What features do you need in the discussion board and how big do you forecast the community to be?
    I gather that you really want a free solution.
    No software is perfect but when you pay for software you generally get features and the expectation of a certain minimum level of support.
    With open source, you get free, features and some support but you also get constant security fixes, regular update patches, plus lots of trawling through online forums looking for tweaks and workarounds. Expect to invest lots of time maintaining it.
    I've used phpBB in the past but never had issues with DW touching the coding. It served its purpose for me and the community at the time but the issues I dealt with regularly were the constant updates/bugfixes and never ending spam, spam, spam.

  • Panel Page in ADF Faces using Facelets not rendering correctly

    Hi, I am attempting to integrate facelets into a web app built using adf faces and am running into a problem with the panel page component. I have integrated facelets and adf faces without any problems by adding relevant jars (jsf-facelets and adf-facelets) to the project and specifying alternate facelets view handler in web.xml.
    However, when I try to render any component inside <af:document> or <af:html> tags, all the font style in components seems to be lost ( all the text and input fields turn large and ugly!).
    I tried to leave out the <af:document> tag and put the <f:view> inside some vanilla html instead, but then panelPage component dosen't render properly and I get following message on top of page :
    "Skip navigation elements to page contents"
    So seem to be in a bit of a catch 22. By the way, this all works fine if I don't use facelets (remove the facelets view handler from web.xml and page renders correctly).
    Does anyone have any ideas or examples of panelPage rendering correctly with facelets or an alternative to using adf faces html tags that will allow panelpage to be displayed?
    The following is the code from a simple test jspx page :
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='windows-1252'?>
    <jsp:root xmlns:jsp="http://java.sun.com/JSP/Page" version="2.0"
    xmlns:h="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html"
    xmlns:f="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core"
    xmlns:afh="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces/html"
    xmlns:af="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces"
    xmlns:c="http://java.sun.com/jsp/jstl/core"
    xmlns:ui="http://java.sun.com/jsf/facelets">
    <f:view>
    <af:document>
    <af:form>
    <af:panelPage title="Title 1">
    <af:panelHorizontal>
    <af:panelGroup layout="vertical">
    <af:outputLabel value="Username"/>
    <af:inputText id="lo_username" value="" columns="20"/>
    <af:objectSpacer width="1" height="10"/>
    <af:outputLabel value="Password"/>
    <af:inputText id="lo_password" secret="true" value="" columns="20"/>
    <af:objectSpacer width="1" height="15" />
    <af:panelHorizontal>
    <af:objectSpacer width="50" height="1"/>
    <af:commandButton id="lo_loginButton" text="Login"/>
    </af:panelHorizontal>
    </af:panelGroup>
    <af:objectSpacer width="50" height="1"/>
    <af:panelGroup layout="vertical">
    <af:outputLabel value="Please use your windows account username"/>
    <af:outputLabel value="and password to logon to the system"/>
    <af:objectSpacer width="1" height="50"/>
    </af:panelGroup>
    </af:panelHorizontal>
    </af:panelPage>
    </af:form>
    </af:document>
    </f:view>
    </jsp:root>

    The problem was the <jsp:root> tag. Removed this tag and modified <af:document> to the following so that namespaces are declared :
    <af:document xmlns:h="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html"
    xmlns:f="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core"
    xmlns:af="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces"
    xmlns:afh="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces/html"
    xmlns:ui="http://java.sun.com/jsf/facelets">
    Page now renders properly using facelets.

  • ADF Faces with ADF BC

    Hi everyone,
    I'm trying to map a <af:table> to an ADF Business Component. I can retrieve the records and I can also navigate doing Next and Previous, but I cannot do a Delete of a record. Do you know if there's any kind of "work arround" to use ADF Faces with ADF BC to do a delete or update, etc.?
    Here is the code, you can notice the: <af:tableSelectOne> tag to put the radio buttons colums to select which one to delete, and you can also notice the action="#{row.markForDeletion}" for the commandbutton to perform the delete.
    Jonas Jacobi wrote in his web blog on August 16 that he was going to post some samples for this "work arround" but I think he never posted them.
    Here is the code:

    Thanks,
    Pablo (sorry for the long post)

    Thank you Gabrielle. At least now I have an excuse to tell my boss why I can't get it to work.
    Any idea when it may be available? Would it be a better idea to implement the table in plain vanilla JSF, and when ADF Faces is ready for ADF BC then do the migration?
    Are there any workarround to this problem?
    Thank you for your time,
    Pablo

  • Customizing ADF component rendering

    Hi,
    I'm trying to override some ADF component rendering in order to provide some clients with a simple application appearance. To do so, in faces-config.xml:
    <pre>
    <render-kit>
    <render-kit-id>oracle.adf.core</render-kit-id>
    <renderer>
    <component-family>oracle.adf.Panel</component-family>
    <renderer-type>oracle.adf.Page</renderer-type>
    <renderer-class>com.mycompany.web.faces.renderer.MyPanelPage</renderer-class>
    </renderer>
    </render-kit>
    </pre>
    I define MyPanelPage class that extends javax.faces.render.Renderer class. I override encodeBegin, encodeEnd, encodeChildren and getRendersChildren methods and it works fine. However, I run into a problem when I want to make the renderer work "in default mode" (the way it ussually works) under certain condition. I suppose that there might be a special render class used by "oracle.adf.core" render kit to render panelPage component, which determines the location of every facet. Anybody know which is this class.
    Thanks in advance.
    Luis Serrano.

  • Detect absolute ID for an ADF component on the page

    Hi All,
    I need to locate an ADF component on the page using ADF Client javascript framework. I'm trying to locate it using following method AdfPage.PAGE.findComponentByAbsoluteId()
    The problem is this component is placed in a page fragment inside page template with several levels of nested naming containers. And I don't have access to the source code of the page template, hence it's quite hard for me to detect the correct absolute id for the component.
    So the question is: how can I know the final value for the absolute id of the component? Can I look it somewhere at runtime? Or if not, is there any alternative way to locate ADF component using just the design time id attribute set for the component?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Arun,
    Do you mean the id of the component in the final DOM? I tried to use that but didn't work. In my case, I need to find inputText component on the page. After page is loaded I can select it via Firebug and it has an id like 'pt1:USma:0:MAt1:0:pt1:reportXml::content'. If I then call following method:
    AdfPage.PAGE.findComponentByAbsoluteId('pt1:USma:0:MAt1:0:pt1:reportXml::content')
    I get null. Am I missing something?
    Thanks,
    Maksym

  • JDeveloper Issue-Urgent.(Unable to find component with absolute reference)

    Hello ppl,
    I been struck up with some JDev issue ,I copied the JDev and set my JDEV_USER_HOME and i create a simple page and try to run it...I get the following error
    Exception:
    oracle.adf.mds.MetadataDefException: Unable to find component with absolute reference = /oracle/apps/eam/workorder/webui/EAM_EW_START_PAGE, XML Path = null. Please verify that the reference is valid and the definition of the component exists either on the File System or in the MDS Repository.
    at oracle.adf.mds.internal.MetadataManagerBase.findElement(MetadataManagerBase.java:1350)
    I been trying around this for the past 2 days....
    Appreciate any help!!
    Cheers.
    1.I tried creating a new page it didnt work...
    2.I tried copying an existing page the error message points to it...but no use..
    3.i could not find the env.txt in my jdevhome (can this be the problem?)
    Cheers.

    Rcana,
    Sorry, but the question is really specific to OA Framework. The JDev version you are using is quite "special," in that it's only available on Metalink for Apps customers. Sorry, but OA Framework forum is really the right place.
    Did you follow the instructions for setting it up (came in the zip file you downloaded from Metalink)?

  • How to configure oracle 6i report server run time component with application server

    we got oracle 6i report server for developing the web based reports for our undergoing product. we r succesed in developing the web based reports using oracle 6i report server.But we r facing problems while deploying the product with oracle reports at clients place,why because the client does not have the oracle 6i report server. To solve this problem we have to configure the oracle 6i report server run time component with application server at client side , but we are unable to configure this component(that is CGI handler).

    You can run multiple instances of Reports Server in 6i.
    In tnsnames.ora, for each server, have a different name and each listening to different port.
    For example,
    server1.world = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(Host = myhost.mydomain.com)(Port = 1949))
    server2.world = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(Host = myhost.mydomain.com)(Port = 1950))
    Also, if you want to know about Reports Server Clustering, you may refer to "Publishing Reports" document on OTN:

  • Software component with Key ID does not exist

    Hi Friends,
               Here I am in need of your help. I got involved in an upgrade from XI 3.0 to PI 7.1. The Basis has imported all the SWC & Business systems from XI 3.0. When I am trying to activate the objects imported from IR of XI3.0 then It is triggering an error as
    data retrieving failed from Adapter Metadata  | RFC http://sap.com/xi/XI/System. /// ROA_MOA_NOTCOMPLETED.
                Because of this I am unable to activate the imported objects in ID by showing the message as Software component with key ID XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX  does not exist.
                when I went there to ESR then under a software component I found a message under underlying components  like             " XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX not exist"  but I am not aware of the object related to that Key ID.
    Please help me out in this . Thanking you in Advance.
    Regards,
    Sridhar

    Hi Neeetesh,
             I got the alternative solution for my problem. All credit goes to you. I recreated the communication channels instead of using the same ones after Upgrad. Any way we need to change the communication channels after importing the channels but the system is giving the above error message as   "Adapter Software component with Key ID XXXXXXXX......  does not exist".
             But its allowing me to create a new channel. Then based on the neetesh suggestion, I went through and create the new comm channels instead of wasting so much time on the same issue.
            Thanks a lot Neetesh.
             I am really sorry for not giving your  points.  I am assigning points  now with great pleasure. Here you go.
    Regards,
    Dasari.
