ADF Controller in non-jdeveloper environment

Hello,
I have been using adf faces in eclipse environment with the JSF Controller (faces-config.xml). I need now to implement use case with adf task flows and for this purpose I need to configure the adf controller to be used (adfc-config.xml). I copied the adf-config.xml file from a corresponding jdev project, and also the weblogic-application.xml and web.xml fils, but this changes do not have any effect. Does anyone know if there are any other configurations needed to get the adf controller working?
Thanks

One of mine weblogic-appliction.xml from inside the EAR looks like
  <?xml version="1.0" encoding="windows-1252" ?>
- <weblogic-application xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/weblogic-application.xsd" xmlns="http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/weblogic-application">

  </library-ref>
- <library-ref>
  <library-name>oracle.jsp.next</library-name>
  </library-ref>
  </weblogic-application>so it's a bit different. If I look into the weblogic-appliction.xml file in jdev it look like the one you posted. Build one EAR from jdev and one from eclipse, unpack both into different folders (unpack the WAR too) and run a diff over the two folders.

  • Class adf.controller.faces.context.FacesPageLifecycleContext not found

    Hi all,
    I am using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.0 and I have a class uses FacesPageLifecycleContext.
    When I import the class oracle.adf.controller.faces.context.FacesPageLifecycleContext, the debugger tells me it does not found that class.
    How can I solve the problem?
    Does I miss any library on my project?
    Thanks
    Andrea

    Excuse me, but I don't understand. Have I to found all these files:
    trinidad-api.jar
    trinidad-impl.jar
    adf-richclient-api-11.jar
    adf-richclient-impl-11.jar
    in my classpath?
    I am looking for these files in C:\Oracle\Middleware\jdeveloper\adfv but in this folder I have only jlib and skin folder.
    Can you give any other informations, please.
    Thank you so much

  • Oracle.adf.controller.faces.context.FacesPageLifecycleContext not found

    Hi all,
    I am using JDeveloper 11.1.1.0 and I am trying to do an application about security.
    I have found some references on web and I have a bean that uses this line of code:
    FacesPageLifecycleContext ctx = (FacesPageLifecycleContext)event.getLifecycleContext();
    but on the line:
    import oracle.adf.controller.faces.context.FacesPageLifecycleContext;
    the debugger tells me: "class oracle.adf.controller.faces.context.FacesPageLifecycleContext not found"
    What's the correct class to import?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    not sure what you are doing - however I am not asking ;-)
    Try import oracle.adf.controller.v2.context.LifecycleContext

    Apple,
    First thing I'd suggest -> try re-installing jdeveloper in a path without spaces to see if that resolves the problem.

  • Oracle.adfinternal.controller.savepoint.SavePointException: ADFC-08008: The ADF Controller is unable to insert a savepoint record for ID

    I implemented a save point in a task flow by creating a save point in a method action The following is the code from managed bean for creating the save point:
                 ControllerContext cc = ControllerContext.getInstance();
    if (cc != null) {
    SavePointManager mgr = cc.getSavePointManager();
    if (mgr != null) {

    At the bottom of the stack, this statement "Caused By: java.sql.SQLException: Connection has already been closed." intrigues me, but why this error occurs after a couple of days or after particular number of connections or access to the application.
    This same issue is also happening in all environments including PROD. Please help. JDeveloper version used is 11.1.2.1.0.

    We got the solution from Oracle support.
    Passivation Fails With Error "Connection has already been closed" in PoolConnection.checkConnection() (Doc ID 1330271.1). Problem is caused by the WebLogic Server Connection Pool feature "Inactive Connection Timeout". When this parameter is set up, WLS will forcibly release reserved connections back into the pool. This is a problem for ADF BC that relies on keeping the JDBC connection associated to its
    Application Module instance.
    Set the "Inactive Timeout Session" to 0 (default), so that the JDBC connection stays active while
    the corresponding Application Module instance is active:

  • ADFC-00025: The ADF controller has not been successfully initialized.

    I am using JDeveloper 11.1.2.0.0, create a simple ADF face page, which is running fine in Inetgrated Weblogic server, and package it as a War file by using Jdeveloper, I chose Weblogic 10.3 as the target server. You asked this question in a wrong forum. You should have asked it in {forum:id=83} because the question is related to ADF Faces but not to WebLogic.
    ADF Faces application cannot be deployed as a WAR. You should deploy the application as EAR because ADF Faces applications need some resources which are deployed as part of EAR (e.g. some OPSS configuration filles, some ADF configuration files, JDBC DataSources, etc.).

    Hi UR,
    BI-IP works on top of BI (datawarehouse). If you mean load data from non sap into BI and then plan with IP, it can be a good solution, if you mean plan data outside BI it is not possible.

  • How To create ADF Search form in JDeveloper 11g 11.1.1.0.1

    Hi,
    I am using JDeveloper 11g 11.1.1.0.1 , in which i tried creating an ADF search form that has Find and Execute Buttons.
    I created the same ADF search form using JDeveloper 11g TP3 and TP4 wherein it works fine but not in JDeveloper 11g 11.1.1.0.1.
    Scenario....
    I dragged a read only view object on to the jspx page as ADF Search Form and dragged the same as Read only table.
    After doing this if i run the application the search functionality does not happen .
    ( I click on the find button and enter the condition and then click on the execute button. records does not get filtered based on that condition specified.)
    But when the same steps is done in 11g TP3 and TP4 the search functionalty works fine.
    Can someone suggest me what is the issue.
    Is this a bug in the new release.
    regards

    We did that earlier, too (modified existing domain).
    Also, after that, we created new domain and extended it according to you suggestions but no change.

  • Instnce name in non-RAC environment

    Hi!
    In non-RAC environment V$INSTANCE.INSTANCE_NAME does not actually displays the name of the instance,that was set in INSTANCE_NAME parameter.
    It always displays DB_NAME instead.
    Is it any way to get instance_name that has service user connected to in this environment?

  • Can't view XML Publisher document from JDeveloper environment

    Something has happened to my JDeveloper environment so that I can no longer view XML/BI Publisher output in the JDeveloper runtime web pages. I have developed pages using both DocumentHelper.getOutputURL and TemplateHelper.processTemplate functions. At rutime I am getting an error logged like:
    java.io.FileNotFoundException: \usr\tmp\xdoxxxxxxxxxxx.fo (The system cannot find the path specified)
    However, when I actually deploy and run the pages in EBS they seem to work fine.
    I'm guessing it's some sort of configuration problem with my OC4J server but can't seem to find the details anywhere.
    Thanks for any help you can give me.

    I got this issue resolved. I was missing xdo_doc_display.jsp in my local /OA_HTML directory. Also, I had to create a directory, C:\usr\tmp (I still don't know where that is being set).
    Anyway, thanks to all who tried to help.

  • IS IT SUPPORTED TO CENTRALLY MOUNT THE ORACLE_HOME IN A NON-RAC ENVIRONMENT

    SR 7250090.993 : (http://qmon.oraclecorp.com/qmon3/quickpicks.pl?t=t&q=7250090.993)
    Technical Summary:
    Customer is planing to install Oracle 10.2.0.4 and 11.1.0.x software on a Red Hat5 with NetApp storage.
    Customer came across the following :
    For single instance installations (as opposed to RAC installations), you must create a separate Oracle home directory for each installation. Run the software in this Oracle home directory only from the system that you used to install it. For Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) installations, you can use a single Oracle home directory mounted from each node in the cluster. You must mount this Oracle home directory on each node so that it has the same directory path on all nodes.
    mentioned in the 10gR2 documentation link :
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/install.102/b15667/app_nas.htm#BCFIDEJA
    Requirements/Expectations:
    As the above statements, that customer came across is not present in 9i documentation, customer wants to understand if it is actually supported to centrally mount the 10g/11g ORACLE_HOME to many servers that are not RAC enabled.
    Also, I would like to understand if the statements in documentation indicate that it is not generally recommended centrally mount the 10g/11g ORACLE_HOME or does it mean that it is not supported to centrally mount the ORACLE_HOME in a non RAC environment?
    Please advice.

    The binaries (executables) in an Oracle home are "linked" (link edited?) to the OS libraries on each server where the software is installed.
    Unless the OS is IDENTICAL on each of the IDENTICAL(HW) servers -- that would share the Oracle home--, you could be in trouble.
    The only supported configuration (I know of) where the Oracle binaries are shared between servers is 9i RAC. On 10g RAC the binaries are installed on each server.
    Other wise I'd say it's NOT recommended, besides you don't save anything (execpt a cooupl of Gigs disk space).
    :p

  • OCFS2 in a non-RAC environment

    Here's a question I've been batting around with a sysadmin. I thought I'd run it past this group.
    We're spec'ing out the hardware for a very large Oracle database (3+ TB) running on Linux. This will be a single, non-RAC instance. This particular SA has very bad feelings about the ext3 filesystem (I am not exactly sure what his objections are). He has heard about ocfs2 and wonders if it would be superior to ext3.
    What do you think? Would ocfs2 be appropriate in a non-clustered environment? Can you suggest any arguments for or against this approach?
    Thanks, I appreciate any thoughts anyone might have.

    Note that paper was written in 2004, and their tests used Pentium III processors. The OS was RHAS 2.1 and their kernel was 2.4.9
    I'm not saying that invalidates the paper's conclusions, but I'm certainly saying you'd have to be very careful indeed in assuming that conclusions drawn from that combination of hardware and software had anything much to say about today's quad cores, multi-gigabyte RAM, kernel 2.6.x setups.
    I'm concerned when I see their graphs on page 8: no axis scales in either x or y directions. If they're going to come to the conclusion that ext2/3 performance tails off, it would be nice to know whether it does so when the number of users hits 10, 50, 100, 500 or whatever, wouldn't it? But you can't tell anything from their graphs on that score.
    And I don't see any mention of them adjusting the buffer cache when using raw, which (having just abolished the file system cache) is something you should sensibly do when making such comparisons.
    And, of course, they were testing OCFS not OCFS2, so again... the applicability of anything concluded in that paper to today's situation is highly questionable, at least in my mind. But I do note that OCFS with "high numbers" of users ended up clobbering the CPU to death, whereas ext2/3 didn't...
    And they seem to claim that transactions per second levelled out with ext2/3 because they hit a lot of free buffer waits -and there are ways of dealing with them that don't involve getting rid of the file system! The fact that they didn't report a lot of write complete waits as well as free buffer waits might indicate that they just need more DBWRs, and not a switch of file system, for example.
    Anyway... short answer is, I wouldn't read too much into that report, which looks to me to be poorly devised and written and very much 'of its time and place' with little general applicability outside of that.
