ADF DBSequence Error

Hi Friends!
I´m learning ADF with JDeveloper 11g release 1 and i have some problem with the DBSequence!
I have done a simple sample to test de ADF operations!
I used Fusion MiddleWare template to my application and i have used ADF Business Components From Tables based on a simple table with ID number PK and Description Varchar2 columns, to create a model and a view based on this simple table!
My table has a trigger that generate the value of the sequence!
I changed the type of ID attribute to DBSequence!
Then i created a simple jspx page based on a datasource from that simple view with the navigator and Commit and create buttons!
When i create a new record in my ID field the system puts a default value -2 and when i put a value to description and commit the operation i got a error: "Cannot convert String to DBSequence"!
If i open the source of the Entity Object i can see a atribute of the xml tag DefaultValue="@0" and if i delete this attribute from tag the system works well!
The problem is everywhere i change the type of the attribute to DBSequence this XML tag is add automaticly and i need to open the source to clean this field to my system works with dbsequence!
Is it a bug, or i´m diding some mistake in my sample?
Thkz for now!

I had the same problem. I writed in the page .jsff the text:
<af:convertNumber groupingUsed="false" pattern="#{bindings.Peid.format}"/>
That is the first part of the file:
<?xml version='1.0' encoding='windows-1252'?>
<jsp:root xmlns:jsp="http://java.sun.com/JSP/Page" version="2.1"
xmlns:f="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core"
xmlns:h="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html"
xmlns:af="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces/rich">
<af:panelFormLayout id="pfl1">
<af:inputText value="#{bindings.Peid.inputValue}" label="Codigo:"
required="#{bindings.Peid.hints.mandatory}"
columns="#{bindings.Peid.hints.displayWidth}"
maximumLength="#{bindings.Peid.hints.precision}"
shortDesc="#{bindings.Peid.hints.tooltip}" id="it6">
<f:validator binding="#{bindings.Peid.validator}"/>
<af:convertNumber groupingUsed="false"
pattern="#{bindings.Peid.format}"/>
</af:inputText>

  • ADF Mobile Error handling and redirect

    I'm stuck on how to handle errors within my ADF Mobile application. My application consumes a number of web services and we have found we often get error messages when phone connections switch from wifi to 3g or lose connection altogether. These are errors such as SSL handshake failure, HTTP500 errors, and also errors where it can't display the binding eh "Unable to get value for the property due to invalid binding iterator" because a WS call has failed. From the little information I can find - and none of it specific to ADF Mobile, I think I need to write an error handler class which I set against ErrorHandlerClass in databinding.cpx - if that correct? Am I able to catch these errors using that method and if so has anyone got any examples at all. Ideally what I'd like to do when I've caught those errors is redirect to another page (showing something like facebooks app does when it loses a connection and says tap to try again), does anyone have any suggestions or examples?
    thanks

  • ADF 11g:Error When running login page: ADF security

    I am using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.2.0.Based on the following post
    http://blogs.oracle.com/fusionmiddlewarereallife/adf11gsecurity.html when I am running the application I am getting following error in web browser:-
    Error 403--Forbidden
    From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
    +10.4.4 403 Forbidden+
    The server understood the request, but is refusing to fulfill it. Authorization will not help and the request SHOULD NOT be repeated. If the request method was not HEAD and the server wishes to make public why the request has not been fulfilled, it SHOULD describe the reason for the refusal in the entity. This status code is commonly used when the server does not wish to reveal exactly why the request has been refused, or when no other response is applicable.
    Steps to reproduce the error:-
    1) Unzip the lession6.zip file (http://blogs.oracle.com/fusionmiddlewarereallife/Lesson6.zip)
    2) Open application in your Jdeveloper and run the login.html page.
    3) In the login page,give user id as "James" and password as "welcome1"
    4) You will see above error.
    I have tested the above in Firefox 3.6.3 and IE7.*Please note that when you run the PublicPage.jspx, application works fine*. Its not working in the case when you are running the application using login.html
    I have checked the Adnrejus post on this error(http://andrejusb.blogspot.com/2009/12/solving-error-403-forbidden-in-adf.html), but weblogic.xml is generated with required entries.
    Can anyone help me in this please:-
    Thanks,
    Vikram

    Me too have tested the application by running the public page. Its working fine.
    But my hole point here is, why application is not moving to the PrivatePage.jspx from login page. Means why can't we directly run the login page and access the PrivatePage. Even when success_url is configured in web.xml

  • ADF: showing error message on a validation rule programatically

    Jdeveloper : 11.1.2.2.0
    i m using ADF. i ve a form that contains input text that is binded to a managed bean property.
    that input text value is inserted into an entity attribute.the attribute in the entity has a validation rule.
    i submit the form and in my managed bean i call
    am.getDBTransaction().commit();
    i want when i submit the form and the when the commit is called and throws exception regarding the validation rule,i want to show an error note window same style like this http://oi50.tinypic.com/15fhnpt.jpg
    how can i do that ?
    thanks in advance :)

    Hi,
    i submit the form and in my managed bean i call
    am.getDBTransaction().commit();A strict NO NO for doing this. You add the commit action to the binding and call the execute the commit operation binding programatically.
    i m using ADF.ADF is vast. Be specific on the technologies you use (ADF BC and ADF Faces?)
    that input text value is inserted into an entity attribute.the attribute in the entity has a validation rule.Are you doing something special with the binding you have in bean? If not, why don't you Drag and Drop the VO from the data control directly? (set the af:messages tag to have inline=true).

  • How do I change the language of ADF framework error messages?

    I'm a beginner in ADF and JDeveloper and I tried to run one of the tutorials for ADF (Build a Web Application with JDeveloper 11g Using EJB, JPA, and JavaServer Faces).
    While clicking through the application I got errors like this one:
    ADF_FACES-60097:Pentru mai multe informaţii, consultaţi jurnalul de erori al serverului, pt. o intrare care începe cu: ADF_FACES-60096:Excepţie server în cursul PPR, nr. 1
    My question is how do I set the JDeveloper/WebLogic to show these messages in English (in order to have better chances while searching this forum :) )?
    I'm not talking about messages that I define in my application, but about framework error messages.
    I already set USER_LANGUAGE=en in <JDEV_HOME>\.product.properties, but no luck.
    Note that WebLogic server messages are in English (e.g. <Warning> <J2EE> <BEA-160195> <The application version lifecycle event listener oracle.security.jps.wls.listeners.JpsAppVersionLifecycleListener is ignored because the application HR_EJB_JPA_App is not versioned.>), only ADF messages are presented in Romanian.
    Thanks,
    Bogdan

    I suspect that these messages are considered "system" ones (e.g. not for the user), so they are not generated in the user's locale but in the JVM's default locale. On Windows machines default JVM locale is taken from Windows Regional Settings. If you do not want to change your Regional Settings, you can try Java system properties "user.language" and "user.country". Try to add the following line to WebLogic domain's <tt>setDomainEnv.cmd</tt> script:
    set JAVA_OPTIONS=%JAVA_OPTIONS% -Duser.language=en -Duser.country=USA restrart of the server is required.
    In Bulgaria we do not have such problems because ADF Faces messages do not have Bulgarian translation, so they are generated in English regardless of the fact that our Regional Settings are set to Bulgarian.

  • Dynamic JDBC Credentials and using ADF Region ERROR

    Hi,
    I used solution by Steve Muench, Dynamic JDBC Credentials (for ADF Faces Rich Client)
    (129.     11g Dynamic JDBC Credentials for Model 1, Struts, Trinidad, and ADF Faces Rich Client 11.1.1.0.0 06-AUG-2008), but it works not correct in case of using ADF Dynamic Region (or simply ADF Region).
    I have added in ViewControllerJSFRichFaces a page (main.jspx) including ADF Dynamic Region consisting of 2 simple tasks flows. Action of the Login button, if login and password are correct, redirect to main.jspx
    There are to cases.
    1) Login and password are correct:
    In this case all work fine.
    2) Login and password are not correct:
    It does not work. redirect to login.jspx does not occur as it is expected, but the following page (main.jspx) is loaded, herewith thrown exception: oracle.jbo.DMLException: JBO-26061: Error while opening JDBC connection.
    I would be very grateful you for help.

    Hi,
    hard to say from your description if this is a bug or an implementation problem. Note that errors that occur in regions are not handled by the exception handler of the the parent page and require special handling within the region. In other words, if the problem is in the region then it needs to be handled in here. I think the right strategy here is to not show the region until a valid connection exist. Is the login performed from the parent page ?

  • Deploying ADF application to a managed weblogic server - ADF security error

    Hi,
    Our group has written an ADF web application, which we are attempting to deploy to a managed weblogic server. Thus far, we have been unsuccessful. The application does successfully deploy to the AdminServer. Our setup:
    Weblogic version is 10.3.0. Domain name is adf_domain. We have installed the ADF (ADF version is 11.1.1.0.0), JSTL(1.2.0.1), and JSF(1.2.7.1) runtime libraries, and they are targeted to both the admin server AND the managed server, which is called CollabServer. This server communicates with the node manager and can be started and stopped via the admin console successfully. The AdminServer is on port 7101, and the CollabServer is on port 7104. We are not using SSL.
    application.xml:
    <?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'windows-1252'?>
    <application xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"

    </library-ref>
    </weblogic-application>

    </weblogic-web-app>
    As I said, there are no deployment errors when we deploy to the admin server. However, we always see the following errors when deploying to the managed server:
    java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: oracle.security.jps.wls.listeners.JpsApplicationLifecycleListener
    etc.
    This error occurs when deploying via the <wldeploy> ant task included with weblogic, and when deploying the application manually via the admin console.
    So I removed this from weblogic-application.xml:
    <listener>
    <listener-class>oracle.security.jps.wls.listeners.JpsApplicationLifecycleListener</listener-class>
    </listener>
    Which resolved the initial error (I assume there is some sort of bug that causes this workaround to be necessary). The next error is this:
    java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: oracle.adf.share.security.authentication.AuthenticationServlet
    Again, we don't get this error when deploying to the AdminServer - ONLY the managed server CollabServer.
    web.xml:
    <servlet>
    <servlet-name>adfAuthentication</servlet-name>
    <servlet-class>oracle.adf.share.security.authentication.AuthenticationServlet</servlet-class>
    <load-on-startup>1</load-on-startup>
    </servlet>
    <servlet-mapping>
    <servlet-name>adfAuthentication</servlet-name>
    <url-pattern>/adfAuthentication/*</url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>
    I then added some adf jar files to the ear file, finally get this error message:
    java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: oracle.adf.share.jsp.ADFLibUtils
    Any ideas on how to resolve this? Thanks.

    Dan,
    thanks fro reminding me :-)
    Here are the steps we had to take to get a managed WLS to run an adf application without copying any jar in the domain/lib directory:
    1. you still have to install the adf runtime to any server you want the adf application to deploy to
    2. open the admin console, select the managed server, and select the 'server start' tab in configutation settings.
    3. add /u01/bea/patch_wls1030/profiles/default/sys_manifest_classpath/weblogic_patch.jar:/u01/bea/patch_jdev1111/profiles/default/sys_manifest_classpath/weblogic_patch.jar:

    /u01/bea/wlserver_103/common/eval/pointbase/lib/pbclient57.jar:/u01/bea/wlserver_103/server/lib/xqrl.jar:
    /u01/bea/patch_wls1030/profiles/default/sysext_manifest_classpath/weblogic_ext_patch.jar to the classpath edit box you have to change '/u01/bea/' with your bea home. The classpath should be on one line without the CR/LF i put in to make it readable.
    4. add -Xms256m -Xmx512m -da -Dplatform.home=/u01/bea/wlserver_103 -Dwls.home=/u01/bea/wlserver_103/server -Dweblogic.home=/u01/bea/wlserver_103/server

    -Djava.security.policy=/u01/bea/wlserver_103/server/lib/weblogic.policy to the 'Arguments' edit box. As with the calsspath change '/u01/bea' to your bea home and change the domain name (in our case 'naa_qs') to your domain name. change the managementuser and passwort to your needs. As whith the classpath I put some CR/LF into the code section to make it readable.
    5. save the changes and restart the server
    Essentially all we copied the arguments from the admin server start script in addition to adding the class path.

  • ADF Javascript error in MS IE v 8.0.6001.18702

    Hi,
    I'm using jdeveloper v11.1.2.0.0. I have a login page with language, username, password fields. Language is af:selectonechoice and is using ppr to re-render the page on language change. • ADF 25001 Error

    Hello everyone;
    I'm still fairly new to Oracle and JDeveloper and this problem has me stumped.
    I have a page with a table (ADF Read Only) called citymst on it. If a record is selected it takes the user to a page with a form ( ADF Form) called citymstedit. The problem is after a user updates any field in the form and hits "Commit", this error message appears:
    State (or whatever field is being updated) JBO-25001: Name Citymst of object type Attribute already exists
    I found a previous question like this but the solution given talks about finding a duplicate named AccessorAttributes in the xml file. I've looked everywhere and can't find any duplicates. This table was deleted at one point and has been recreated. There must be a way to locate this cause as changing tables in the size of operations I am doing is going to occur again. Thanks for any help or advice.
    William

    Hi,
    lets try and take the client off the equation. Can you run the ADF BC tester for the AM and perform an update? If the same error message shows then we can look into the ADF BS model as the source of trouble

  • ADF Custom error handler not working.

    Hi All,
    i am using jdev version 11.1.1.5.0. i have created one custom error handler class in model layer which extend DcErrorHandlerImpl class.
    and do the entry in Databinding.cpx file
    *<Application ErrorHandlerClass="mypackage.classname"/>*
    i have override getDisplayMessage(BindingContext ctx, Exception ex) method to show SQL Exception which comes from database table trigger.
    code is following-
    package com.in.jagran.view.services;
        import java.sql.SQLException;
        import oracle.adf.model.BindingContext;
        import oracle.adf.model.binding.DCErrorHandlerImpl;
        import oracle.jbo.JboException;
        public class AclasErrorHandler extends DCErrorHandlerImpl {
          public AclasErrorHandler(boolean setToThrow) {
            super(setToThrow);
            System.out.println("Inside Error Handler class");
          public AclasErrorHandler() {
              super(true);
           // this(true);
           * Returns the message that will be reported to JSF for each error that occurs.
           * Returning "null" is the way the custom error handler signals that a given exception
           * should not be reported to the client.
          @Override
          public String getDisplayMessage(BindingContext ctx, Exception ex)
            if (ex instanceof oracle.jbo.ValidationException) {
              return super.getDisplayMessage(ctx, ex);
            else {
              // Extract and return the error message that has to be displayed
              Exception exception = ex;
              String message = "";
              // If this exception is an instance of JboException,
              // try to find the cause by recursing over the eventual causing exceptions
              if (exception instanceof JboException)
                Throwable[] exceptionList = ((JboException)exception).getExceptions();
                while (exception instanceof JboException
                        && exceptionList != null && exceptionList.length > 0)
                  exception = (Exception)exceptionList[0];
                  if (exception instanceof JboException) {
                    exceptionList = ((JboException)exception).getExceptions();
              // *** Special processing of SQLExceptions
              if (exception instanceof SQLException) {
                message = exception.getMessage();
                // Ignore the lines in the error message that indicate the line number in the PLSQL code that the error resulted on.
                int ind = message.indexOf("ORA-06512");
                if (ind > 0)
                  message = message.substring(0, ind);
              // *** If the the reason for the JboException was data creation exception then display the message
              // of the top JboException (i.e. JBO-*****: Invalid numeric value, date format or time format)
              else if (exception instanceof NumberFormatException || exception instanceof IllegalArgumentException) {
                // Report the top exception
                message = ex.getMessage();
              // Otherwise report the message of the lowest exception in the hierarchy
              else {
                message = exception.getMessage();
              return message;
        }but it is not working for me.
    thanks in Advance.

    yes i have used dubugger.
    i have set break point to following line-
    return super.getDisplayMessage(ctx, ex);
    if (ex instanceof oracle.jbo.ValidationException) {
            return super.getDisplayMessage(ctx, ex);
    }when atttribute validation done like i have attribute of type number and i have done the validation "must be greater than 0" now when i have given negative value control go to above line.
    and i have added following code also in handler class
            @Override
               public void reportException(DCBindingContainer dCBindingContainer,
                                           Exception exception) {
    System.out.println(exception.getMessage());
                       super.reportException(dCBindingContainer, exception);
                   }now when i have done commit operation control go to here and println statement print follwoing error on log window.
    JBO-26041: Failed to post data to database during "Rollback to Savepoint": SQL Statement "null".

    I tried the wayback machine, but unfortunately, it doesn't cache the SWF files either :( I do have a copy of some (ok one) of Steve's old videos (the one that shows how to do a dropdown list in an editable table, back before it was easy to do), but unfortunately, none of the search ones.

  • Jdev+ADF Mobile : Error java.lang.NullPointerException,need global variable

    hi, i am using jdeveloper version 11.1.1.1.0.
    i try to get value of field "id" from a table "customer" from input value from "username" and "password" form in welcome / login page.
    the value of field "id" that logged on will be used for further operation like determine relationship with other table for showing data.
    to accomplish that, i create a new java class "bean.java"
    the content is simple, just a few variable like : eeid,eeuser,eepass, and more else.
    each variable have accessors.
    after create "bean.java", i register that class to faces-config.xml in managed beans tab. i give it description like below :
    - name : beanku
    - class : mvc.bean
    - scope : session
    to login, i check the login button with code like this :
    public String cmdSigninee_action() throws ClassNotFoundException, SQLException {
    String tuser = (String) inputUseree.getValue(); --> value of username
    String tpass = (String) inputPassee.getValue(); --? value of password
    bean ong = (bean) FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext().getSessionMap().get("beanku"); --> it's ok here
    ong.setSeeid("testing"); --> here is the error
    i got an error message like shown below :

    anyone can help me with those errors? i just need global variable, so i can use it for check relationship with other table.
    or if anyone of you can give me another way to get the value of field "id" from a table?
    thank you so much before! and i am sorry if my english is bad.

    If you select the JSP page in the graphical stuts-config.xml overview in JDeveloper, you should see the properties of the JSP page in the property inspector. One of those properties defines the Java class that handles the action/forwarding/etc.
    Then you should create a new Java-class that extends the original action handling class. Change the property in the graphical stuts-config.xml overview in JDeveloper to this new class.
    Then add an event attribute to the submitbutton element in the form of your JSP page, e.g. seeDetails.
    In your newly created class you can then create a new method: onSeeDetails. This method should be invoked when the submit button is pressed and the form is submitted.
    In the ADF ToyStore demo there are some examples of Java classes that extend the standard action handler. There in the ViewController project.
