ADF EBS Integration - How to open the ADF page in new tab or window
Hi,
We are building ADF custom applications and want to integrate them with EBS R12 (12.1.3) through Responsibilities and Menus.
We have achieved session sharing and launching the Custom ADF app from EBS menu. The problem is, the Custom ADF page opens in the same page.
Is there anyway to open the ADF application in new tab or window while launching from EBS Menu ?
Highly appreciate your help on this.
Thanks,
Ananthakumar

How to open the url in a new tab of the Browser
Hi ,
Am using jdev 11.1.1.2.1
I have a commandLink in a jsff page and on click of that i want to open a new tab with the url given in the action listener.
I have the action listener code below:
FacesContext fctx = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
ExternalContext ectx = fctx.getExternalContext();
Url="/faces/Home.jspx";
ectx.redirect(Url);
For now it is redirecting in the same window and so wen i press the back button in the browser the session gets invalidated ,
so i want to open it in a new tab.
Please help.
Thanks,
Hari
Edited by: Hari on Oct 15, 2012 2:23 AMHi,
You can try using "goLiink" and then use the property targetFrame set to "_blank"; below are some for ur references:
targetFrame
_blank: The link opens the document in a new window.
_parent: The link opens the document in the window of the parent. For example, if the link appeared in a dialog window, the resulting page would render in the parent window.
_self: The link opens the document in the same page or region.
_top: The link opens the document in a full window, replacing the entire page.

I upgraded to v3.6.22 today and have lost the ability to ctrl-click a link to open the link in a new tab; how do I get this back?
Strangely enough, putting my laptop into Hibernate mode solved the problem. It didn't even take a reboot.
Running Windows Vista Enterprise SP2. -
This happens to be more of an issue using a trackpad. Then you rightclick on a link and then hit "t" it opens the link in a new tab. when you do the same command on on a bookmark on your bookmark toolbar, it grays the bookmark out. none of the settings have been changed on it. the way to fix it, i discovered is to right click on the bookmark and hit "p" no idea why, but this solved it. I can't find any of these command online, partly i don't know how to correctly search the rightclick command, but partly, it would only probably list the commands that actually show up as stuff to click with your mouse.
I would also like to know why for two different locations that both open a link in a new tab, why the mapped shortcuts are different. for a link, it is rightclick+t, for a bookmark it is rightclick+w. I mean, make it the same commands, it makes much more sense that way.Because the "T" in "Open Link in New <u>T</u>ab" is underscored in the link context menu (right-click menu)
You are on Windows 7 and by default Microsoft hid that useful information by default in all of their menus.
See item #9 on my page [http://dmcritchie.mvps.org/windows-7/win7.htm Windows 7 Home Premium]
<b>Restore missing underscored letters in menus</b> (turned off by default in Windows 7)
<br>Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Ease of Access Center (<b>WinKey+U</b>) → <i>Make the keyboard easier to use</i>
<br> [x] Turn on Toggle keys
<br> [x] Underline keyboard shortcuts and access keys
<br> [ ] Prevent windows from being automatically arranged when moved to the edge of the screen.
<p>Toggle keys appears both under mouse and under keyboard in Ease of use / Accessibility options.
<br>Though I would like to activate the last option, preventing windows from being automatically arranged
would also deactivate my favorite Windows 7 added WinKey+<arrowkey> keyboard shortcuts to resize window to left/normal/right side, or to maximize/norm/minimize window. On a dual/extended monitors this would be left/norm/right on each monitor so left/right arrow actually have six positions passing between monitors.

I downloaded the new version of Mozilla and tried to install an add-on to allow me to set the home page for new tabs. The app says it has downloaded but does not open new tabs as my home page (google) - any suggestions what I can do?
I've been working on this all day!!! I've tried everything I know of and can't get it to load either. Sounds like lots of people are having problems. Here is what I have so far...I have uninstalled EVERYTHING on my pc from apple and reinstalled itunes to no avail. I have tried all sorts of things I've read as fixes online. NOTHING has worked. Can't get any help from apple. their suppot *****! I want to get someone on the **** phone or a live chat but cant. *** APPLE????? please let mw know if you find SOMETHING i can try next. I'm out of ideas and patience!

Can I make the home page my new tab page?
I referenced [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/824876?s=make+the+home+page+my+new+tab+page&as=s] and attempted to use about:home for the url but nothing happened.
ThanksThe referenced link deals with a different matter; the user wanted a blank tab to open but was getting an arbitrary page opening instead.
In your case you might try one of the following Add-ons:

When iam using firefox i selected google as my home page. But while opening another tab in the same window(ctrl+T), I am getting babylon search as home page for it. How can i get rid of this problem?
'''''"...while opening another tab in the same window(ctrl+T), I am getting babylon search as home page for it."""
Any search toolbar and changes to search engines can take place by downloading and installing software; usually "free" software from the internet. Babylon can be downloaded and installed by itself or as a "ride-along" when installing/updating some software from the internet. Always look for an opportunity during the installation to un-check boxes that will install "ride-along" items that you do not want. Firefox installation does not include such "ride-along" items.
#Remove Babylon Toolbar (if you have it installed). The most complete removal is to remove it from your system using (Windows) Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs): http://kb.mozillazine.org/Uninstalling_toolbars#Uninstalling_via_Windows_Control_Panel<br />

#Reset your home page (if the Babylon search page is displayed when starting Firefox): http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/How+to+set+the+home+page
#*You can reset to the default by clicking "Restore to default" on Options > General > Startup > Home page. Be sure to set "When Firefox starts" to "Show my home page" on that same panel.
#Reset your Location Bar search engine (if typing a few words in the URL/Location Bar takes you to Babylon search):
#*type '''''about:config''''' in your Location Bar, like typing a web site address, and press the Enter key
#*ignore warning and choose to continue
#*in Filter, type '''''keyword.URL'''''
#*in lower part of screen, if it is '''bold''' and shows "'''user set'''", right-click keyword.URL and choose "Reset"
#*in Filter, type '''''babylon'''''
#*any items in lower part of screen in '''bold''' and showing "'''user set'''", right-click and choose "Reset"

I have tried the following Add on - Tab Utilities and Tab Mix Plus.
Basically on start up of Mozilla, I have five tabs that load. After surfing/working a bit online, I would like to reload the five original tabs back to the original home page/load settings. If I click on the home button, five more tabs load, giving me ten tabs instead of the five original that I desire.
Are there any other add on that would fix this. I tried the two above but either they do not offer it or I don't know what settings to choose. The best way to keep your home page in the tab is to open other links in a new tab with a middle-click.<br />
Clicking the home page always open a new set, so you would have to close the current tabs first to prevent getting multiple home page sets.<br />
I don't know if there is still an extension that can open the home pages and replace the current set.

I've gone to the options section several times and the right settings are in place but it still doesn't open in a new tab. I've never had this problem before. Should I change back to 3.6 or 4 beta? This problem occurs on the newest update. I believe it's 4.0.1 or something like that...I just loaded it yesterday. How can I fix this? Thank you.
It's normal for links to open in the same tab as you browse if you left-click. You can Ctrl+click or middle click to open a link in a new tab. Are either of those broken?
Some sites let you use a regular left click to open a link in a new tab (example: Google search settings), and some add-ons may change link behavior. Can you check whether one of your add-ons has been disabled?
Tools > Add-ons > Extensions
Also, if you use the Ask toolbar, try disabling it and see whether that makes any difference. -
How to Open External Links in a New Tab
I want links in web pages to open in the current tab so I have browser.link.open_newwindow=1. But how do I make links from extenal applications open in a new tab?
Try setting the following to 3, not really sure if preference was actually removed or just won't accept 2, the intent was that the two variables be the same (I think)
browser.link.open_external -- Where to open links sent to the browser from an external application
* 2 (default in SeaMonkey): Opens external links in a new window
* 3 (default in Firefox): Opens external links in a new tab in the most recent window
* 1 (or anything else): Opens external links in current window
Note: In Firefox 2 and above, via “Tools → Options → Tabs → New pages should be opened in:” (same as browser.link. open_newwindow)
Pref removed from Firefox 3.5 -

When a user clicks on the responsibility it shows a list of fuctions available with the appropriate prompt.
My recquirement is to open the page in a new window when a user clicks a function on the responsibility page.
Is it possible to do so?If yes how?If not any document supporting this limitation.
Any help would be highly appreciated.

This is not possible. However you can open the second page in the flow in a new window by setting Target Frame property to _blank.

Open the external URL in another tab of window browser
Hi,
I have create application to open the external URl into new window browser by using CREATE_EXTERNAL_WINDOW method. now how can i open this url into same window tab. is there any method that allow me to open this external URL into window tab.
Thanks,
Digamber. The open external window API doesn't support specifying "in another tab". That is completely browser specific! Some browsers don't even have tabbed browsing.[ I don't even think that even javascript has this functionality!|http://www.dynamicdrive.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-19843.html]
You'll not be able to do this. Sorry.
You might be able to change the browser configuration so that it defaults new windows into a new tab... But not through WD.
Cheers,

Howcan I set the home page for new tabs?
When I open a new tab, it opens up as a blank page. How do I setup Firefox so that the new tabs open in my home page?
''locked by a moderator due to age and that Firefox 13 has a new feature for a new tab''Thanks, but the problem I'm trying to solve is to get my home page to open automatically when I am already in Firefox and click on the new tab "+" sign to the right of my most recent tab. I have not found a solution to this in the link "How to set the home page" nor in the various help pages on new tabs.

I am using the new Firefox Developer Edition as a stand-alone on Ubuntu, so I can still use the "old" version, too.
Everything seems to be working fine, as in I am logged in and setup sync. But a few features I got very much used to are no longer working.
When I click on "About Firefox Developer Edition", it shows these details:
Firefox Developer Edition 36.0a2 (2014-12-09)
Firefox Developer Edition is up to date
You are currently on the aurora update channel.
In my "old" Firefox, I can:
1. Click with the mouse wheel on the navigation arrows to open the previous or next page in a new tab.
2. "right mouse click" on the navigation arrows to see the list of previously visited pages of the current tab, and the ones I visited after the page I am on, if I clicked "back" once or more times. I can then click the mouse wheel or "Ctrl + Left Mouse Button" to open any of the pages in the list in a new tab.
None of this works in the Developer Edition. To clarify, the list of previously or later visited pages does still show up when I right click on the navigation arrows in the Developer Version, but I cannot open any of the links in the list in a new tab with the mouse wheel or "Ctrl + Left Mouse Click".
