ADF Faces not found at Component Palette..

I am a Tertiary Student currently doing a project using Jdeveloper 11G version 11.1.1.3.0 . I am currently doing a project on Login.jspx. I am unable to select the ADF Faces page from the Component Palette and unable to Locate the Panel Header component in the Layout layer of the Component Palette. May I know is there any other way to be able to locate the ADF Faces Page or the panel header?
Thanks.

Make sure you have the 'ADF Faces' and ADF Page Flow' technologies selected to your project.
Open the ViewController project properties and select the last node in the tree ('Technology Scope'). The two mentioned scopes should be on the selected side to see the stuff you are looking for in the component palette.

  • How do I add ADF Faces Core and ADF Faces Html to the component palette?

    I have an already made jspx page which I wish to work further on but I can´t choose ADF components from the component palette.
    in my older version I added these two lines to the <jsp:root> element when I wanted to make ADF components available.
    xmlns:af="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces"
    xmlns:afh="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces/html"
    but in Jdeveloper 11g preview 3 these two lines seem to have no effect.
    I tried to see what other jspx pages that contained ADF components in 11g had that my page didn´t and found out that they had the line
    xmlns:af="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces/rich"
    but when I add this line instead of the other two lines and press install JSP tag library Jdeveloper freezes completely. Can anyone help me get ADF components show up in the component palette in Jdeveloper 11g preview 3?

    Hello,
    Jdeveloper 11g uses Trinidad not ADF Faces 10g, to add it, uses the following:
    1. Double-click your project to access project properties;
    2. Select JSP Tag Libraries;
    3. Click Add;
    4. Trinidad Component 11-m3

  • Af:panelPage not found in Component Palette

    Hi All,
    I am using JDeveloper 11.1.1.5.0. I am following a hands-on tutorial in book "Oracle JDeveloper for Forms and PLSQL developers" which is using Oracle JDeveloper 10g. It is using af:panelPage facet which is not available in JDeveloper 11g.
    Can someone guide me how to include it in component palette or there is some alternative available with different name?
    Any help will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance
    Bilal

    component palette.. show ADF UI related components when you have ADF Faces. ADF Page Flow shuttled to the right in the project properties.. -> Technology Scope.. ADF ViewController project.. from New Gallery comes with these libraries handy...
    i am not sure about af:panelPage.. in 10g but if you want to use panel then you can have a look at
    af:panelHeader
    af:panelAccordion
    etc in jdev 11g for ADF UI components...

  • Oracle Composer not listed in Component Palette

    I am building webcenter portal application with runtime editing capabilities. I could not see Oracle Composer tag lib in the Component Palette. I have checked that the Oracle Composer jar has been included in the Portal project. Any clues what could be the issue?

    Have you looked in the dropdown list in the component palette? Normaly it says ADF Faces. Do you find Oracle Composer in that list?
    Oracle composer isn't a component that you will find in the list. Oracle Composer is a set of components like the pageCustomizable and Change mode link and so on.
    Or are you saying that you don't see Oracle Composer in the dropdown list? If so, can you search for page customizable in the search field in the component palette? THis will look in all registered libraries.

  • Package javax.faces not found

    Hi,
    I tried to import the package javax.faces.* but it can not be resolved. Do I have to download this package myself? I'm using jre1.5.
    Thanks!

    JSF isn't part of core Java. You need to download it separately, in a number of ways, and then include it in your compile-time classpath, and put it somewhere your container can get hold of it, too

  • How to add adf faces in component pallete of jdeveloper 11g?

    how to add adf faces in component pallete of jdeveloper 11g?

    Hi,
    the replacement of ADF Faces HTML components in JDeveloper 11 is Trinidad. For existing applications, a migration path will be provided in JDeveloper 11 production. I wouldn't recommend configuring ADF Faces in JDeveloper 11.
    You an configure ADF Faces Components in JDeveloper 11 by :
    - Tools --> Manage Libraries
    - Create a User Library
    - select ADF Faces adf-faces-impl.jar
    - Enure the namespace is not af or afh but something different to not cnflic with teh ADF Faces RC components
    Note that adding the ADF Faces components to the component palette will not make them show in the ADF binding context menu nor will it automaticaly set up the web.xml file. The components are available as any other JSF library set
    Again, I wouldn't go this way ;-)

  • ADF Faces is not supported on IE running in compatibility mode

    hi
    In the blog post "Running ADF Faces applications with IE 9 in IE 8 compatibility mode "
    at https://blogs.oracle.com/jdevotnharvest/entry/running_adf_faces_applications_with_ie_9_in_ie_8_compatibility_mode
    Frank Nimphius explains about headers to make IE browsers behave like a previous version (in compatibility mode), but ends with this support information:
    Very Important(!)
    ADF Faces is not supported on IE running in compatibility mode. If using ADF Faces on IE in production, make sure IE is configured to run in native mode. Compatibility mode may only be used during development if your IE version is not certified with the JDeveloper version you work with. In production then you need to make sure the IE version matches the JDeveloper certification matrix.Reviewing the Release 1 "Certification and Support Matrix "
    at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/index-091111.html#Browsers
    it currently says
    "For Internet Explorer 8 and 9, only Native mode is supported. View Compatibility mode should be disabled. "
    But there currently are no hits when searching for "compatibility" in the Release 2 "Certification and Support Matrix "
    at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/jdev11gr2-cert-405181.html#Browsers
    - (q1) ADF Faces is not supported on IE running in compatibility mode, how much of that applies to JDeveloper Release 2 and where has it been documented?
    many thanks

  • ADF Faces : partial page rendering in f:subview

    hi
    Please consider this blog post, "ADF Faces: How-to issue a PPR event from a f:subview and how-to PPR of subviews" :
    http://thepeninsulasedge.com/frank_nimphius/2008/02/14/adf-faces-how-to-issue-a-ppr-event-from-a-fsubview-and-how-to-ppr-of-subviews/
    In this post, Frank Nimphius writes : "... PPR from a containing page to the subview - unfortunately - only works for the whole subview, which means that the included page is getting refreshed. Because the f:subview component does not support PR, you need to work with a wrapping ADF Faces container, like af:panelGroup ...".
    But, it looks like such partial page rendering in a subview can be done without a specific "wrapping ADF Faces container" like this ...
            <h:form id="firstPPRPageFormID">
              <af:panelPage title="firstPPRPage">
                <af:panelHeader text="components on firstPPRPage">
                  <af:panelForm>
                    <af:panelLabelAndMessage label="dateUtil.currentDateAsString, with partial trigger">
                      <af:outputText value="#{dateUtil.currentDateAsString}"
                                     partialTriggers="firstSubviewID:firstSubviewCButton"/>
                    </af:panelLabelAndMessage>
                    <af:panelLabelAndMessage label="dateUtil.currentDateAsString">
                      <af:outputText value="#{dateUtil.currentDateAsString}"/>
                    </af:panelLabelAndMessage>
                    <f:facet name="footer">
                      <af:commandButton text="firstPPRPage button"
                                        id="firstPPRPageCButton"
                                        partialSubmit="true"/>
                    </f:facet>
                  </af:panelForm>
                </af:panelHeader>
                <f:subview id="firstSubviewID">
                  <jsp:include page="/firstSubview.jspx" flush="true"/>
                </f:subview>
              </af:panelPage>
            </h:form>... and where firstSubview.jspx contains something like this ...
      <af:panelHeader text="components on firstSubview">
        <af:panelForm>
          <af:panelLabelAndMessage label="dateUtil.currentDateAsString, with partial trigger">
            <af:outputText value="#{dateUtil.currentDateAsString}"
                           partialTriggers=":firstPPRPageFormID:firstPPRPageCButton"/>
          </af:panelLabelAndMessage>
          <af:panelLabelAndMessage label="dateUtil.currentDateAsString">
            <af:outputText value="#{dateUtil.currentDateAsString}"/>
          </af:panelLabelAndMessage>
          <f:facet name="footer">
            <af:commandButton text="firstSubview button" id="firstSubviewCButton"
                              partialSubmit="true"/>
          </f:facet>
        </af:panelForm>
      </af:panelHeader>Note the value ":firstPPRPageFormID:firstPPRPageCButton" for the partialTriggers attribute.
    see http://verveja.footsteps.be/~verveja/files/oracle/PartialPageRenderingInSubview-v0.01.zip (check README.txt)
    questions:
    (1) Why exactly does this approach seem to work?
    (2) Because of question (1), what could be potential issues with this approach?
    regards
    Jan Vervecken

    Jan,
    good job ! I actually never thought of reversing what I said about PPR'ing a component from a subview.
    Actually
    partialTriggers=":firstPPRPageFormID:firstPPRPageCButton"/>
    works because the leading ":" makes ADF Faces to start the component search from the root container. Note that if you use af:form instead of h:form, the trigger is
    partialTriggers=":firstPPRPageCButton"/>
    I'll update my blog

  • ADF Faces performance

    Hi All,
    We need to do our project in ADF faces as UI technology. So we want to know the exact performance measures for that. There was some information that ADF faces is a bit slow as comparision to other JSF implementation like MyFaces.
    So can anyone please gives some information or reference for ADF Faces performance with respect to Myfaces or any JSF implemetation ?
    Thanks
    Suhas

    Suhas,
    I am not aware of any performance measurement that compares MyFaces with ADF Faces, especially because ADf Faces is a UI component set only that by default uses the JSF RI engine while MyFaces also contains its own implementation of RI.
    ADF Faces runs on top of any JSF compliant implementation and on MyFaces as well. This means that if the performance of ADF Faces with Sun RFI isn't sufficient, you just swap it.
    There was some information that ADF faces is a bit slow as comparision to other JSF implementation like MyFaces
    Assuming you didn't make this one up, can you point me to the source of information you quote here ?

  • ADF Data Visualizations group not showing up in Component Palette

    I apologize for my ignorance, but I cannot find how to solve this problem. I am trying to use the data visualization components such as graphs but my component palette does not show this. It does show ADF Faces, JSF, and some others, but not this. I tried adding more libraries to my project's properties, but it does not show up. I am using:
    JDeveloper
    Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.2.0
    Build JDEVADF_11.1.1.2.0_GENERIC_091029.2229.5536
    Any ideas?
    thanks,
    Kerry

    Go into project properties -> JSP libraries and make sure you add the data visualization tag library.

    At runtime I recieve the following error:
    javax.faces.view.facelets.FaceletException: ADF_FACES-60023:Component: DoubleClickTableDialogClientServerListenerComponent[oracle.adf.view.rich.component.fragment.UIXInclude$ContextualFacesBeanWrapper@7170a7, id=dctdcsl1] does not support client listeners.
      at oracle.adfinternal.view.faces.facelets.rich.BaseClientListenerHandler.apply(BaseClientListenerHandler.java:53)
    This component was intended to be dropped off within an af:table component. I would like to hear suggestions on workarounds, one other way I thought about was to create a code template for the three tags, however, the con to this approach is each developer would need to configure this template within jdeveloper. Ideas are appreciated.
    Also a side question, how can I embed code properly with the new forum? [code] tag does not seem to work now.

    Wes, can't help with the real question, but can tell you how to format code
    Change to the advanced editor (top right over the editor field), then you get more options. The one you are looking for is behind the blue '>>'. Here you select the language you want to insert and you get nice code formatting and color.
