ADF-JDev1013EA1 deploy on OC4J101202 ?

Can I deploy ADF Application, create by JDev1013 EA1 on OC4J101202 ?
It's need more library configuration (adf-runtime, toplink, etc.)?
Or ADF-JDev1013EA1 support only OC4J1013
Thanks,
kim

I already install the ADF Runtime to OC4J101202, I found error during try to run application:
oracle.jbo.InvalidDefNameException: JBO-25004: Definition name mypackage/DataBindings.cpx for type Application Definition is invalid
It's look like OC4J101202 does not support databinding, that created by JDev1013EA1.
I try to deploy and run this application on OC4J1013DP4.
It's fine, everything OK.
It seem JDev1013EA1 (ADF) support only OC4J1013, right gurus?
Thanks,
kim

  • ADF Mobile Deployment issue

    Hello -
I am so frustrated with the ADF Mobile deployment. I have already created couple of Android Apps using the native language and never faced problems like this. I am very familiar with ADF development as well.
    Anyways this is my problem.
I downloaded the sample adf mobile app from the following tutorial, but I was unable to deploy it on the Android emulator in  Release mode. The debug mode takes for ever.
Oracle JDeveloper 11g Release 2 Tutorials - Building Mobile Applications with Oracle ADF Mobile
This is the error messages I am getting:
    [11:02:51 PM] ----  Deployment started.  ----
[11:02:51 PM] Target platform is  (Android).
[11:02:51 PM] Beginning deployment of ADF Mobile application "Employees" to Android using profile "Android3".
    [11:02:51 PM] Deployment cancelled.
    [11:02:51 PM] ----  Deployment incomplete  ----.
[11:02:51 PM] The following Android preference configuration is missing or invalid. Set these options in JDeveloper Preferences on the ADF Mobile panel:
    Key Password
    (oracle.adfmf.framework.dt.deploy.android.deployers.ValidatePreferencesDeployer)
I generated the keystore using keygen per the tutorial and it doesnt't help.
This is how I validated the keystore.
    C:\Oracle\MiddlewareMob\jdk160_24\bin>keytool -list -keystore emp.keystore
    Enter keystore password:
    Keystore type: JKS
    Keystore provider: SUN
    Your keystore contains 1 entry
    empl, Nov 19, 2013, PrivateKeyEntry,
    Certificate fingerprint (MD5): 8A:27:53:64:B3:AF:01:CA:9C:2F:47:2A:50:16:E4:40
    C:\Oracle\MiddlewareMob\jdk160_24\bin>
I tried recreating the keystore couple of times, but it didn;t help. I know the password entered is correct.
Any suggestions will be appreciated. Also, I started learning JQuery Mobile in parallel.
    Thanks,

  • Wrong security Principal in ADF BC deployed as EJB SessionBean

    Hi everybody,
We have an ADF Web application using ADF Faces and ADF BC. Due to security reasons we need to execute the ADF Faces layer and the ADF BC layer at separate machines (in separate security zones), so we tried to deploy and access ADF BC as EJB Session Beans (i.e. to use "remote" Business Components). We used the necessary JDeveloper wizards to make it, we did have problems to achieve it on JDev 11.1.1.2 and JDev 11.1.1.3 (due to runtime java.lang.ClassCastException: oracle.adf.model.servlet.HttpSessionContextImpl cannot be cast to oracle.jbo.SessionContext, which probably is a bug), but eventually we succeded on JDev 11.1.1.4.
Unfortuanetly we encountered a problem - in the remote ApplicationModuleImpl (at "ADF BC" tier, where the EJBs were deployed) <tt>ADFContext.getCurrent().getSecurityContext().getUserName()</tt> does not return the username of the currently authenticated user (e.g. the session user in the presentation tier), but it returns the username of the user who has been current when this particular AM instance has been created (e.g. next time when this AM instance is reused by another user the method does not return his username but the username of the AM instance's creator). Note, that our EJBs are configured by default with <tt><use-caller-identity/></tt> and we have established Global Trust between the WLS domains, so the current authenticated Subject from the client tier should be propagated to the remote EJB (in order to execute the EJB in the security context of the client application).
We rely on the username in ApplicationModuleImpl.prepareSession() to setup a security context in the database session, so it is crucial for us to get the correct username. The method <tt>ApplicationModuleImpl.getUserPrincipalName()</tt> returns the proper username, but not always, because of a well-known bug appearing since JDev 11.1.1.2, so we could not use this method either.
    My questions are:
    (1) Has anybody encountered such a problem?
    (2) What should happen in such a configuration, e.g. how and when the "remote" ADF SecurityContext is (re)loaded in such an environment?
    (3) How could we resolve the problem?
Our environment is JDeveloper 11.1.1.4 + WebLogic Server 10.3.4.
    Thanks,

    Hi codeplay,
The forum has excluded this thread from my watch list when I have marked the thread as answered and I have missed your questions, so I appologize to you. Now I am answering your questions despite it may be too late for you.
    Q: I am very interested to know that besides this wrong security principal issue, what else problems do you encounter for BC-as-EJB deployment?1) The EAR file that is generated for the remote ADF BC (i.e. for the ADF BC deployment at the remote server) puts the EJB JARs in <tt>lib</tt> folder within the generated EAR instead of <tt>APP-INF/lib</tt> (which is part of the CLASSPATH in WebLogic by default). As a result we were receiving ClassNotFound exceptions. The problem is solved by specifying <tt>APP-INF/lib</tt> as a target for the "Application Libraries" file group in the corresponding EAR deployment descriptor;
    2) We were receiving "Exhausted ResultSet" or "ResultSet is already closed" exceptions (I cannot remember well which ones, please excuse me, it was some time ago). We solved this problem by setting <tt>jbo.ejb.txntype=global</tt> in AM's configuration (i.e. we instructed the framework to use global (e.g. JTA) transactions instead of local ones). However, this setting caused another problem - after COMMIT/ROLLBACK the framework did not start a new global transaction immediately. We solved this problem by implementing <tt>afterCommit()</tt> and <tt>afterRollback()</tt> methods to our ApplicationModuleImpl class where we started a new JTA transaction explicitly.
Q: For EO attributes that are configured as "Track Change History" (created/updated by), will the correct values be stored? Assume we couldn't get correct user name from remote BC, what else features do we lose? (eg, protect EO attributes using ADF security?)As far as I know history attributes rely on the method <tt>ApplicationModule.getUserPrincipalName()</tt>. This method is considered as a deprecated, but in fact the history attributes rely on it instead of the <tt>ADFContext.getCurrent().getSecurityContext().getUserPrincipal().getName()</tt>. The method getUserPrincipalName() returns a wrong result only during the 1st chekout after AM's establishment in the AM pool. Then it works correctly even if recycling the AM instance in another user session. In fact this method was the most reliable "username" source (but not reliable during the initial checkout).
Q: My understanding is that you will go for this kind of deployment in your project regardless of all known issues, is it?A: No, we abandoned this kind of deployment because of all these problems and because we realized that Oracle's support for this feature is very poor and Oracle did not confirm commitment to this feature in the future.
Lastly, did you ever try to reproduce this issue in jdev 11.1.2?A: No, we have not tried JDev 11.1.2 because it was not existing at the time when were doing our trial and because our application was going to be a WebCenter application. JDev 11.1.2 does not have WebCenter extension yet.

  • ADF Application Deployment Failing in Upgraded Web logic Server

    Hi,
We have recently upgraded our weblogic server from *10.3.3* to *10.3.5* and also migrated ADF application from JDev *11.1.1.3* to *11.1.2.1* . Finally deployed migrated ADF application which was running fine on * Weblogic 10.3.3* to Weblogic 10.3.5.
And we too installed the necessary libraries in the upgraded weblogic server and deployed our application.
This all went well and when we restarting the server ... server failed to restart with the following exception. Please help me with your suggestions what exactly would be the issue.

  • ADF application deployed to Weblogic producing runtime error

    Hi all,
We are trying to deploy a new ADF application built by JDeveloper 11.1.1.5.0 to a standalone weblogic (*version 10.3.1.0*)
The app deploys and runs on integrated wls without any problems, and deploys to the standalone wls without any warnings or errors, but does not run on standalone wls :(
    I checked many possible errors and tried many possible solutions, including, but not limited to;
--> Checked tag references and page components on jsp/jspx pages, deleted unused or possibly unsupported tags from pages and taglibs from ui project (trinidad components 1.2), but still I get the error
--> Using 2 different machines with JDev 11.1.1.5 we created test applications with same tech stack, tag libraries and tag references, deployed to standalone wls and they run without problems (!)
--> Checked web.xml, the file contents and references are the same as of other applications whic are deployed from same environment to the same standalone wls and running without problems (these applications are referenced as "other working applications" following this line)
--> In sessions.xml, the db connection is default, the file includes 2 references <server-platform xsi:type="weblogic-10-platform"/> and <primary-project xsi:type="xml">META-INF/tlMap.xml</primary-project>
--> All projects (Model and view) are cleaned and rebuilt, deployment files are recreated, application ear is recreated, runtime application name and context root name ise changed, but still no luck, I get the same error
--> Project technology stacks are checked and all tech stacks are configured same as "other working apllications" (since their technical architectures are the same)
--> Checked application datasources; database connections of this application automatically create datasources, for connection dbconn1 there exists a datasource named dbconn1DS as a module in the deployed application. Other working applications had datasources with same name; to prevent a possible conflict in JNDI names of these datasources I changed the name of the db connection to a unique name, deleted the old connection and datasource. But still no luck, error is still SAME.
--> Test applications (which have trinidad components 1.2 as tag library and there are references to it from page files) run on standalone wls, removing this taglib and the references does not make a difference. But the real application gives error when trinidad is removed from the tag libraries (java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: resetADFContext)
--> Created new jspx pages which are not using backing beans and tried to access these, but I received the SAME error for these pages as well. Removed all jspx pages except the dummy test pages, and still no change.
One final note; html pages in the project open without problems, as their url are different from the jspx files ( "host/appName/Test.html instead" of "host/appName/faces/Test.jspx" ) and when these pages open, the server log and console indicates new sessions created by this request.
This is the famous error I get on the server log every time I try to access a jspx file:
    ####<Jul 31, 2012 9:14:12 AM EEST> <Error> <HTTP> <hostname> <ADF_SRV1> <[ACTIVE] ExecuteThread: '24' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)'> <<WLS Kernel>> <> <> <1343715252920> <BEA-101020>

Could anybody please help, where to focus to see the REAL indications and solutions of this annoying error? Soon I will get this application to production environment, so any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance...

    Ok, I think I should give the update, on how I struggled to solve the problem;
--> I did NOT update the wls, since it is the production server and has many applications and services running on it , I could not take the risk of breaking those.
--> I migrated, or rewrote the application on JDeveloper 11.1.1.1.0, rewrote the toplink map file, descriptors, pageDefs bla bla, to make it compatible with wls 10.3.1.0.
--> Then I tested the app on JDev 11.1.1.1.0 ok, then opened the same application on JDev 11.1.1.5.0 then tested ok....
--> And I deployed the application from JDev 11.1.1.5.0 to the standalone wls, and this is where the magic happened, the app worked without error on standalone wls 10.3.1.0
+( Just a note: I really wonder, where is the backward, or forward compatibility of ide and server runtimes? )+
Anyway, it is a big lesson for me about choosing the ide version for a specific server.
    Thank you...

  • ADF application deployed but not able to process any events on Tomcat

    Hie
Somehow i m able to deploy an ADF application on tomcat 5.5. I am able to see the pages. But nothing is working. That is on click of submit button it does not call the the method written in the bean (assigned to action property of the button).
All is working fine when run withi jdev. Also i dont see any kind of log messages while clicking the submit.
So i m not able to figure out wht is really going wrong. In my apps i have used just ADF faces. There is not ADF-model..
    regards
    Vik

    Hello Praveen,
If I understand correctly the scenario is File -- XI -- RFC and you do not see any message in SXMB_MONI.
I would test the Sender File Adapter first before going to RFC. If the file is picked up and sent to Int Server you would see a corresponding message in SXMB_MONI.
I would first check the Sender File Comm Channel in Comm Channel Monitoring and ensure the file id being picked up.
In case this is not working you would get the exact error in the File Comm Channel. If this channel is working fine and you see a message id for the picked up file but the corresponding message Id is not available in SXMB_MONI, I would have a look at the queues if they are registered properly in SMQR or check if messages are stuck in any queue using SMQ1 and SMQ2 transactions. Please do the following steps and I am sure the scenario would work.
In case you find the problem and are not able to resolve it please post it here and I can suggest something.
Please award points if this post helps you.
    Thanks and Best Regards,
    Kanwal

  • ADF 11g deployment

    Hi,
I installed Jdeveloper 11g production ver. with Weblogic 10.3 , i made a sample application using ADF BC and it worked well.
the question is how to deploy this application to weblogic server?
and if there any document that could help plz give me it's link.
    Thanx 4 help

Start with Section 32 of the Fusion Developers Guide for Oracle ADF (Deploying Fusionb Web Applications) - it's in the online help - just search for "deploy" and you'll find it.
As a word of advice it's a good idea to convert your ADF BC project to use a Datasource for it's connection if you're not doing so already, then define that datasource in the WebLogic domain. That's simpler than moving the credential file across which contains the connection information.

  • Can Swing/ADF directly deploy on application server?

    Hi,
After creation of Swing/ADF rich client in JDevelopment, is there any way to deploy this as a WAR file on application server or this ADF option is only for direct client/server mode deployment?

    Hi All,
I am also interested in ADF Swing and ADF BC in 3-tier setup. I tried a couple times as mentioned above. It worked fine all the way to the EJB model deployment. The first time I tried to test the AppModule, it showed 3 configurations, one for AppModuleLocal, one for AppModuleEmbeddedAS ,and one for the AS that I deployed on. It seems to work fine as I got data on the test. The second time I tried it, only one configuration available and which was the AppModuleLocal. I did not change a thing during those tests. Would like to get some help on it.
Then I skipped the testing and moved on to create the front end. Then I noticed that the DataBindings.cpx was using the right AppModule with the configuration that point to the AppModuleLocal cogifuration file. Since I deployed the model to a different server, I tried to change it to the AS configuration that I depolyed. But the combo box only contain the AppModuleLocal configuration. That I don't understand again. Do you guys try the 3-tier model on local OC4J only or on Oracle AS as well?
    Thanks
    Keith

  • ADF mobile deployment

    hi everyone,
i'm new on adf mobile and i'm developing and android application using adf mobile and android sdk manager, but i have one problem and this is about the time of deployment,it takes about 10 to 12 minutes every time
to deploy the application on emulator and i don't know if it's normal or not,if it's not normal plz tell me how to reduce the time of deployment
    thanks...

    Hi.
You can speed up your deployments by following Shay's instructions here:
    https://blogs.oracle.com/shay/entry/speed_up_adf_mobile_deployment
Unfortunately, the Android simulator is very slow. This is because it emulates an ARM processor on your x86 machine. The only workaround is to deploy to a physical device instead.
    Best Regards,
    Frédéric.

  • How to reduce Oracle ADF Mobile deployed file

    Hi
I'm creating simple demos with Oracle ADF Mobile and the deployed file is more than 50mb. Is there a way to reduce this size? Maybe remove some unused features llike SQLLite?

My simple demo IPA files have been around 20MB with the default splashscreens and such, the only time it was bigger was when some files mistakenly got included. You could always load resources on-demand the first time over http and cache them in the app documents. This way you could only download the graphics for the current platform (so if it's a phone, you don't download iPad banners and graphics that your app needs)

  • ADF Swing deploy

I have developed an application using ADF Swing and ADF BC, but he wanted to deploy it in a applications server. I have read that it stops this he should spread the BC like EJB, and then in the layer client to configure so that the DataBinding uses the EJB and not the I application module. I have been able to deploy the BC like EJB, but I cannot configure my client so that it consents to this EJB. Somebody can tell me that I need to make to get this.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
Yes, I agree we need to update this paper or at least blog about a change in ADF Swing 10.1.3 that is needed for AM pooling support. Here is what you need to know:
In order to run ADF Swing in batch mode you must have a "Server side configuration". This configuration is used by server side of the application, i.e. by BC EJB running in oc4j context to do am pooling, which in this case is called "remote am pooling" .
This configuration is called AppModuleLocal1. Actually from ADF BC point of view it is local, hence it is used in the same jvm where ADF BC are running.
There two places where you can create this "Server side configuration" (named as AppModuleLocal1) in one of two places:
    1) on the Remote tab of AM Editor when you shuttle EJB Session Bean
    to the right.
    2) on step 3 of "Create Business Components Deployment Profiles" wizard.
    To create it:
At the bottom of "EJB Session Bean" panel see "Local Configurations" dropdown and the "New" button close to it. Click the button.
Let me know if this works
    Frank

    Hi,
I was trying to create and deploy a test application as outlined in the online tutorial for ADF Mobile:Android
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E18941_01/tutorials/MobileTutorial/jdtut_11r2_54_2.html

I have successfully deployed applications developed from Eclipse with Android extension on the same emulator.
I tried manual cmd line deployment of the generated apk file
    I got [INSTALL_PARSE_FAILED_NO_CERTIFICATES] error first.
I then followed the instructions in the below post to create a keystore, sign the application and again deploy the application
signing error with abt deployment with ADF Mobile and java 1.7
    I got the following error.

    Hi,
At this point, we really have not fully tested out JDK 1.7, and we rely on Android SDK to actually compile the app. Any way you can add JDK 1.6 to your machine, and configure the Android SDK to use JDK 1.6?
    Thanks,
