ADF on cloud

Is there any cloud platform where i can host my ADF based application?

Hi Andreas, thanks for raising this.
ADFmobile as you know is a framework to built applications that run on phone/tablet devices. They can absolutely invoke/consume web services running on Oracle Cloud including web services hosted on ADF applications running in Oracle Java Cloud Service. There is a section on just this in ADFMobile documentation: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E35521_01/doc.111230/e24475/cloud.htm#CHDEGCIF
We will update the documentation you pointed to so we remove the confusion.

I am using jdeveloper 11gr2, so pls dont tell me to use jdeveloper 11gr1. because, i hv already developed an application for my final year B.Tech and i cant migrate to previous release. So there is only one way for me by generating ear file and deploying from console.
    So,
I m not getting what is the problem and what will be solution for this?
    What should i do?
    What changes should required?
pls, help me to get out from this problem !!!!!

Well, I guess you have a problem here. Check http://multikoop.blogspot.de/2012/12/deploying-adf-applications-into-oracle.html and from this
    >
Note: In its current stage Oracle Java Cloud Service runs WebLogic Server 10.3.6 with the appropriate Runtime ADF 11.1.1.6. Deployment of ADF 11gR2 Applications is currently not supported. Beside this limitation some ADF Features are not supported on the Oracle Cloud. According to the Oracle Cloud Documentation it is not supported to use the following ADF features
    ADF Desktop Integration
    ADF mBean
ADF MDS (Seeded customizations or cross-session personalization)
    ADF Mobile
ADF Active Data Services (=> No real-time ADF Web Apps in Oracles Cloud)
ADF Business Components services interfaces (web services) or events
ADF Data Controls for BI, Essbase, BAM, and JMX
Further there are some restrictions which are good to know I think
No Java Mail API (=>Sending Mails is prohibited)
No File system access by deployed applications (=>Writing files is prohibited)
No Direct use of Oracle JDBC Driver APIs
    No Java Message Service (JMS)
Max Size for deployment archive 95MB

I hope for you that the information from the blog has changes in the meantime (blog is from end of last year). Check the current doc for the cloud ...

  • Deploying ADF application to the cloud

I had been deploying a simple adf application to the cloud trying to get simple basic authentication working with cloud based roles.  Yesterday I made a change and the application failed to deploy, and despite reverting changes I still am unable to deploy.
I have since created new ADF applications, and cannot get them to deploy in the cloud either, while they do deploy on my local wls instance.  The error in the service log is
    User defined listener com.sun.faces.config.ConfigureListener failed: java.lang.InternalError: oracle/adfinternal/controller/resource/AdfcMessagesArb.<clinit>()V.
Googling on the error shows it to be an issue with versions, or a corruption of a jar file.  I did get a similar error deploying to my local when I forgot to add the library-ref for jsf 1.2 to my weblogic.xml.
Jdev version is 11.1.1.6, java cloud service version is 13.1.
Is there any way to get more logging that what is returned by the cloud sdk client for the service log?
I'm going to try a reinstall of jdev.  Any other suggestions?

I uninstalled jdev, deleted the entire dir <user>/AppData/Roaming/Jdeveloper, and reinstalled jdev.
After this I am able to deploy again.

  • Tag cloud with autosuggest feature in ADF

We want to select multiple records or words from a huge list so we tried autosuggestor which selects one record but if we want to add multiple words or records and show it like tag cloud as we add multiple email address in gmail then how can we achieve it.

    You can refer below link

The deployment log is on the first message.
I'm using Jdeveloper and i note the Jdev inserts some servlets into the web.xml file ! is it possible that the probleme is related to this ? (below the web.xml file)

  • Having 2 ADFS proxy 2 ADFS server 2 ADC each in seperate cloud service, how do they communicate

i have 2 ADFS proxy services under one cloud service and one availability group and an endpoint for 443
the same goes for 2 ADFS servers
    1. as far as i know this configuration is enough for HA and NLB for both services, please confirm and support me with official links
    2. Does Azure services communicate with each other using the public or the private IP? For example ADFS proxy communicate with ADFS services over the cloud service public VIP?
    3. What is the process if ADFS service tries to communicate to one DC on Azure & found it unavailable will it fail over another working DC by default?

  • ADF Mobile on Oracle Cloud

    Hi,
according to the unsupported features list on http://docs.oracle.com/cloud/CSJSU/feat_implement.htm#CEGBGCCE
    it states that
    - ADF Mobile
is unsupported and there is no applicable alternative.
What does it actually mean ? I don't see a direct relation from ADF Mobile to cloud computing.
    Does it mean that
    - ADF Mobile Apps are not allowed to consume WebServices on Oracle Cloud?
    - Oracle Cloud does not allow to deploy WebServices which could be consumed by ADF Mobile Apps?
    - Since ADF Mobile works from Version 11.1.2.3+ and Oracle Cloud is on 11.1.1.6 ADF Mobile is not supported?
    - Or is it just a documentation bug?
    Thanks for any hints,
    Andreas Koop

I have trouble redeploying an ADF app. Yesterday the Virus-scan failed when deploying from Jdev 11.1.1.6 and directly from the Cloud Console. Today at first nothing seems to happen when trying to deploy from Jdev - it just blocks jdeveloper - but after 19 minutes and 33 secs it completed. The App is not working even though it may have completed the deploy.
When trying to look at the Java Cloud Console both the "Data Sources"-portlet says "Error getting Data Sources" and the "Java Cloud Service Jobs"-portlet says "An error occurred while retrieving Java Cloud Service Jobs".
    My identity domain is "triala2kx"
    Any ideas?
    Best regards
    Kim

I am experiencing the same stuck job on my java cloud instance - can Oracle support reset my job
If I try to start/stop/redeploy or add an application I get the following error
    "Information
The operation cannot be invoked because the service is running Java Cloud Service Job 170371. Wait for the job to complete, then re-run the operation."

  • Issue with ADF security enabled App deployed to java cloud services

    Hi,
    Here are the instance details:
    Jdev cloud build:JDEVADF_11.1.1.6.0CLOUD_GENERIC_121118.1600.6229
    Java cloud service version:13.1
I have created a simple ADF Application & enabled security by editing web.xml:
    <login-config>
        <auth-method>CLIENT-CERT</auth-method>
        <realm-name>default</realm-name>
      </login-config>
      <security-role>
        <description>manager</description>
        <role-name>manager</role-name>
      </security-role>
Then I have tried to deploy this Application to Java cloud services.Deployment works fine.
I have 2 users created in Identity console- x & y.In my case x user has manager role enabled & y doesn't have manager role enabled.
Now when I try to access the above deployed ADF Application with 'y' user, the page is accessible.
My question here is that since 'y' user does not have the privilege he should not be able to access this page, could you please let me know if am missing something?
    Thanks.

  • ADFS Claims Authentication, Configuring UPA and People Picker

    Hi,
I am just trying to get my head around setting up ADFS to authenticate users along with allowing UPA (My Sites) and People Picker to work.
So, my environment is a WFE and an SQL Server offsite and my AD and ADFS 2.0 server onsite.  We have configured SharePoint as below and applied the Claims Provider to my Intranet web app and My Sites web app and I can login in with my
    account as [email protected] (UPN)
    $cert = New-Object System.Security.Cryptography.X509Certificates.X509Certificate2("E:\ADFS_SelfSigned.cer")
New-SPTrustedRootAuthority -Name "ADFS Self Signed” -Certificate $cert
    $map1 = New-SPClaimTypeMapping "http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2005/05/identity/claims/upn" -IncomingClaimTypeDisplayName "Account ID" –SameAsIncoming
    $map2 = New-SPClaimTypeMapping -IncomingClaimType "http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2005/05/identity/claims/emailaddress" -IncomingClaimTypeDisplayName "EmailAddress" –SameAsIncoming
    $map3 = New-SPClaimTypeMapping -IncomingClaimType "http://schemas.microsoft.com/ws/2008/06/identity/claims/role" -IncomingClaimTypeDisplayName "Role" –SameAsIncoming
    $realm = “https://intranet.domain.com.au/_trust/”
    $signinurl = “https://adfs01.domain.com.au/adfs/ls/”
$ap = New-SPTrustedIdentityTokenIssuer –Name "SAML Provider" -Description "My Custom Identity Provider" –Realm $realm -ImportTrustCertificate $cert -ClaimsMappings $map1,$map2,$map3 –SignInUrl $signinurl -IdentifierClaim $map1.InputClaimType
    $uri = new-object System.Uri("https://adfs01.domain.com.au/adfs/ls/")
    $ap.ProviderRealms.Add($uri, " https://mysites.domain.com.au/_trust/")
    $ap.Update()

When trying to configure a new synchronisation connection> Activery Directory Import under the User Profile Service Application, I get an error saying it can't connect to the Domain Controller which would make sense as they are not on the
    same domain.
I believe that MS have a sync utility that works with Office365/MS Cloud - is there a similar solution available for my configuration?

AD import still uses LDAP/ADSI... ADFS cannot be used DIRECTLY as a sync source, since it is NOT a QUERYABLE technology. It is an AUTHENTICATION technology. UPS syncs to a QUERYABLE data source like LDAP/ADSI, and maps one of the properties to the ADFS login
(most people choose email or UPN, though I tend to recommend SID for various reasons).
Also, since people picker displays a SEARCH window, and since ADFS is not a QUERYABLE technology, the people picker (by default) ASSUMES that whatever you type in will be VALID. You can SEARCH the UPS, but if you type an email address or something of that
nature, it is NOT going to SEARCH your directory! To address this, you need to install a custom Identity Provider... one is available on CodePlex, which performs an LDAP search against the domain controller... if that's not an option, you need a custom coded
    solution.

  • ADFS- SharePoint 2013 ( Active Directory federation Services)

Can you please brief me in what scenarios we go for ADFS in SharePoint 2013.
We have external users for them we create accounts in our AD and then provide access to SP. I am not sure if external users directory is LDAP or Windows AD. Please explain in detail if ADFS can be leveraged in this scenario to provide access to external
users to our internal domain SharePoint site. Or in other words in which scenario ADFS will come into picture.
Most of the blogs talks about how to configure ADFS but not explained in what scenario and why it has been implemented.
    Thanks, Ram Ch

    Hi
You can use AD FS with the Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2008, or Windows Server 2008 R2 operating systems to build a federated identity management solution that extends distributed identification,
authentication, and authorization services to web-based applications across organization and platform boundaries. By deploying AD FS, you can extend your organization’s existing identity management capabilities to the Internet.
AD FS 2.0 enables identity federation, extending the notion of above centralized authentication, authorization, and single sign-on to Web applications and services located virtually anywhere.
As previously introduced, identity federation relies on standards-based protocols to establish federation trusts between claims providers and relying parties, facilitating secure access to Web
applications and services across security boundaries.
For an organization, AD FS 2.0 provides corporate users with a rich federated experience and seamless access to resources located:
    - Inside the corporate intranet;
    - Outside the corporate network in a corporate perimeter network, extranet and/or in the Cloud, for example in the Microsoft Windows Azure platform, the Microsoft’s Platform as a Service (PaaS)
    offering;
    - At the perimeter networks of partner organizations that have made resources available to the considered organization’s users;
    - In the Cloud with Software as a Service (SaaS) vendors that support federated identity

  • Need to Import an application built using Oracle Service Bus on Oracle Public Cloud

I have built an application using Oracle Service Bus (OSB) eclipsed IDE which transfers file from server1 to server2, reads the transferred file, transforms it into a payload and calls a webservice. I have tested this application locally by installing Oracle Service Bus on one on my servers.
I have java as a service account on Oracle Public Cloud. I would like to import the above application onto Oracle Public Cloud. I am not sure if the Weblogic domain on Oracle Public Cloud has enabled OSB or not.
Let me know if someone can help me.

    Hello,
Oracle Service Bus is currently not supported in Oracle Java Cloud Service.
Oracle Java Cloud Service supports deployment of JavaEE and ADF applications.

  • How many ADFS farms can you have in a single forest/single domain?

    Hi
I may have some terminology incorrect...please let me know if I do. :)
My question is, how many ADFS farms can you have in a single forest/single domain? If you want to know why I am asking...please read on.
We have 1 ADFS Farm and we are looking adding services to it. However not every cloud vendor provides a "Identity Broker" with there services.
We have a consultant that is advising that we need to enable a SAML-based IdP-initiated single sign-on (SSO) ie using "IdpInitiatedSignOnPage"
However to do this we need to modify the ADFS website to have "drop down" list so the user can select the "Relying Party" and then authentication with them.
This means we are exposing a list of every company/party we have federated with. The exposure of this information, is deemed a security concern by our company....which I agree with.
So the consultant advises that we need a separate ADFS farm. I have searched online, but haven't found any information that confirms multiple ADFS farms can be implemented in a single forest/single domain.
Thanks for reading and if you have any other suggestions...I'd appreciate it.
    Nyobi

This is not exactly FIM related question - there is ADFS forum available on Technet. However - technically there is no limit of ADFS farms in a forest \ domain. It is just a service which uses AD and is not altering it in any way or storing some forest-wide
information like Exchange. So you can setup two ADFS services in single forest - no problem.
If it is a best solution to your problem? I can't say with that limited information but maybe just customization of pages on ADFS side would be enough?

  • Error while deploying adf application using ant script or jdevloper IDE

    Hi All,
While deploying adf application into cluster weblogic server I am getting strange error though my weblogic server is working fine as I checked it from weblogic console. Seems that there is some heap memory issue but don’t know the exact cause as it work perfectly if I restart the server.
Same error i get when i try to deploy application from Jdeveloper IDE though it created the server connection successfully.
Please help me by provided valuable tips to overcome this problem or any special tips to optimize weblogic server for ADF.

    >

  • Transition from Trial to Purchased Java + DB PaaS cloud - overage?

    Oracle,
A minimum configuration for Java EE hosting on Oracle Cloud Java + Database comes out to around 12 * (250 + 175) * 1.13 = $5763 per year - which is a price that requires some diligence for small businesses but worth it in order to use a full featured EE server like WebLogic 12 that includes EclipseLink in my opinion.
What is the policy on overage fees over the 30GB(DB) and 50GB(Java) monthly traffic limits.
    - When the limit is reached at say the 3rd week - how is overage traffic handled - can we throttle the 50Gb java load over the month in that case to handle peak loads
    - Is there any extra fees if we exceed the 30+50 GB limits within the month - I don't want to forced to upgrade to the 250GB limit @ $9153 per year.
    The pricing page
    https://cloud.oracle.com/mycloud/f?p=service:java_pricing:289454252444001
    states
"This is the maximum allowed bytes of data in and out of your service within a billing month. Database import and export are provided for free and do not deduct from this allocation."
but does not discuss on what is done with requests for data above the 50GB limit.
    - Is there any plan to incorporate a subset of free usage like GAE/Appspot and AWS/beanstalk do?
    Outages:
    - there was a 9 hour scheduled outage the night of the 31st - can we expect this regularly and are apps seamless handed over to an alternate production server during the duration - In that case how are in-transaction session handled. As I understand it we do not have access to a 2nd level Coherence cache - which could handle this.
    Trial to Paid
Can I get a url prefix in the name of my company when I decide to move to a paid cloud from the "trialAAAA" one we get assigned now.
Full Java EE 6 (or at least mirrored WLS 12.1.1.0 support)
What is the timeline for implemented the feature difference between local standalone 12c instances and the cloud ones.
Specifically EJB 3.1(new deployment time timer beans, WebProfile), full ADF, Coherence, EclipseLink 2.5 (with Multitenancy and JPA-RS), JPA 2.0 container managed persistence units without static weaving.
    thank you

    Hi.
Thanks for your question. Right now I do not belive it is possible to connect the BI Publisher/OBIEE environment embedded within Fusion Applications to any alternative datasources as you described.
I appreciate this is all in the Oracle Cloud, so it's an interesting use-case and I will endeavor to investigate any options we might support in the future. In addition, I recommend you propose the same question to the Cloud Central/Operations folks as they are responsible for the configurations and they might be able to offer more details on what they support now and going forwards.
The SaaS cloud does support both linking to other urls and embedding external pages (your reports) as iFrames, so that might be an alternative? Also I don't know if you've looked at the coming Oracle BI Cloud, which provides a database and OBIEE server environment together, again from which you might be able to embedd the result in your SaaS environment.
Hope this helps, and we're planning a BI Publisher series on our blog soon so will be sure to cover some of the things mentioned here. Keep a look out for more.
    Thanks
