Adf: resultset or result in af:table

JSF DatatTable bind to a javax.servlet.jsp.jstl.sql.Result object works fine, but an ADF Table bind to javax.servlet.jsp.jstl.sql.Result or java.sql.ResultSet raise an exception like this
javax.faces.el.PropertyNotFoundException: Error finding property 'Indno' in bean
However it has been clearly mentioned in Oracle documentation that
the value attribute of the ADF Faces table can be bound to a managed bean that is an instance of that model or to any of the following:
an array of beans
a single bean
an instance of java.util.List
an instance of java.sql.ResultSet
an instance of javax.servlet.jsp.jstl.sql.ResultSet
an instance of javax.sql.RowSet
an instance of javax.faces.model.DataModel
Can anyone help me how to resolve the error.

We are working on skinning APIs to allow customization of the look-and-feel of our components.
As for customization of individual features like this, there's always a tension between simplicity and complexity - more hooks to tweak behavior does improve flexibility in the here-and-now, but it increases complexity, makes testing the components that much harder, and also locks in API decisions that often in the long run actually decreases flexibility. I'm not saying "no" to this request, which is reasonable, just trying to give you some insight into why we don't just by default make every last thing modifiable up front.

  • How to display stored procedure results in SJSC table?

    I have been able to create a cached rowset and debug/watch the results, but do not understand how to transfer those results to a Table component. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
    Details:
    In SessionBean1.java, I declared the stored procedure and rowset along with get/set and update procedures:
    // SLS trying stored procedure 20060412
        private java.sql.CallableStatement spFXRatesStatement;
        private CachedRowSetXImpl spFXRatesRowSet = new CachedRowSetXImpl();
        public CachedRowSetXImpl getSpFXRatesRowSet() {
            return spFXRatesRowSet;
        public void setSpFXRatesRowSet(CachedRowSetXImpl crsxi) {
            this.spFXRatesRowSet = crsxi;
        public void updateSpFXRatesRowSet(String inDate, String inCcy) {
            try {
                spFXRatesStatement.setString(1, inDate);
                spFXRatesStatement.setString(2, inCcy);
                spFXRatesRowSet.populate(spFXRatesStatement.executeQuery(), 1);
            catch (Exception e) {
                // TODO - write exception code
    // SLS trying stored procedure 20060412I then prepared the stored procedure within SessionBean1s init() procedure:
    // SLS trying a stored proc 20060412
            try {
                javax.naming.Context ctx = new javax.naming.InitialContext();
                javax.sql.DataSource ds = (javax.sql.DataSource)ctx.lookup("java:comp/env/jdbc/bmo_fp");
                java.sql.Connection conn = ds.getConnection();
                // spGetFXRates
                spFXRatesStatement = conn.prepareCall("{call GetFXRates(?, ?)}",
                        java.sql.ResultSet.TYPE_SCROLL_INSENSITIVE, java.sql.ResultSet.CONCUR_READ_ONLY);
               // next sp...
                // clean up
                ctx.close();
                conn.close();
            catch (Exception e) {
                // TODO - add exception code
    // SLS 20060412 I can see the results in a web page procedure with a getSessionBean1().getSpFXRatesRowSet().getString(i) watch.
    try {
                getSessionBean1().updateSpFXRatesRowSet("9/30/2005","EUR");
                getSessionBean1().getSpFXRatesRowSet().first();
                while (getSessionBean1().getSpFXRatesRowSet().isLast() != true) {
                    getSessionBean1().getSpFXRatesRowSet().next();
            catch (Exception e) {
                // TODO - specify error detail
            }Now, how do I transfer these results to a table?

    I think you have to add a CachedRowSetDataProvider to you page been.
    Then initalize it with your getSpFXRatesRowSet() in the init() method.
    Then link you table to the CachedRowSetDataProvider.

  • Finding results from different tables

    Hello,
    I am makeing a query on 2 tables. It works. But I need to find out which result is coming from which table. e.g 1 table is having abc record and 2nd table is having xyz record. I need to find out that abc has come from 1 table and xyz has come from 2nd table. Is it possible? If yes, Please give me a sample code snippet.
    Thanks

    Well one way that I can think of other than duplicating every column is to add one additional column to your select such as a.table1 then only populate the a.table1 column if the data came from the first table (any dba can help you with that since it is database specific). Then you just check for a null in the column in the resultset and will know which table it came from (null = came from table 2, !null = came from table1). Does not matter what data you stick in there as long as it comes from a not null column you should be golden

    how is the query performing if you delete all the hints for PARALLEL, because most of the waits are related to waits on Parallel.

  • Get ALV Report's Result Into Internal Table

    Hello everyone,
    is there a way to get a alv reports result into an internal table?
    For example: is it possible to get the values from transaction S_ALR_87012078.
    I mean i want to write a function an it will give you the alv reports result as internal table, so  you won't have to dig the reports code in.
    thanks to any answers from now. bye.

  • SSIS question - Email the results of the table in pipe delimited format to the users

    I am new to SSIS and I have a requirement.  I have a sales table that has transactions for all months.  I am trying to automate the process which involves following steps:
    I need to query the table based on previous month.
    Email the results of the table in pipe delimited format to the users.
    What I am currently doing:
    I created a temp table and load the query results in it every month by truncating the previous month’s data.  Saved the query results in excel format. Open the excel and save it in csv format. Use SSIS package to convert csv to txt format and email
    them manually with the txt file name as “Salesresults_<previousmonth>.
    I just want to automate this process but the main challenge comes up with email with txt attached. Please help me out.

    First create a SSIS variable(@[User::Path]) that store folder path as "C:\Test".
    Select the "Expression" tab in Send Mail Task Editor and select the appropriate property(FileAttachments) and assign the below expression.
    @[User::Path] + "\\Salesresults_" + (DT_WSTR, 10) MONTH( GETDATE() ) + (DT_WSTR, 10) YEAR( GETDATE() ) + ".txt"

  • How to display search results in a table or in different columns

    Hi
                 How can i display search results in multiple columns or in a table so that the user can sort the results based on a particular property displayed in the search results.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    Vidya

    Hello,
    To display search results in a table, in different columns or more... you should modify SearchResultLayoutSet.
    Create your own StandardSearchResultRenderer (exp My_StandardSearchResultRenderer) and add to SearchResultLayoutSet. Than change whatever you like to achive your aim.
    Thank you.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to NOT return MSQuery results in a table in Excel 2010

    In Excel 2010, I only have the options to return my query results in a table, pivot table, or both.  If I convert the resulting table to a range, I lose the query.  Why am I restricted to using a table?
     I want to return the results into a spreadsheet and retain the query like I could in 2003.  I want to be able to layout and format as I want.  I want to be able to enter criteria in a cell and have the query return the proper results.
    I am querying via ODBC sources against SQL and Redbrick databases.  I was able to do this in 2003.  Is the option still available?  Am I not finding it?

    Hi Bet_T,
    What do you have against getting the results in a table as opposed to a non-
    formatted range? There are quite some advantages a table has over a regular range of cells, like automatic expansion when used as the source of a chart or a pivot table.
    You should still be able to add parameters to cells.

  • Multiple BI Query Results into one Table

    Hi All
    Can I embed Multiple queries into one table using VC?
    I have data in different BI sources(Info Areas) like sales and distribution,Shipments etc. Can I write any universal query to retrive data from multiple sources?(If any???)

    Hi Jan Pasha,
    My model contains two BW queries which uses UNION and sent result to one table.
    I tried using UNION also but when I use it I am able to see no records to select in result table.
    I donot have any coloums in common. Is it pre-requisite for using UNION?

  • Howto: Save prediction query results to relational table

    I believe saving prediction query results to relational tables is possible (the BI studio does it!). I am not clear on how to do this w/o the BI studio, which means if I write a DMX query and want to store its output to a relational table, how do I do it?
    Tips, anyone?
    Thanks!

    a) You can write some code do this on the client-side. Use ADOMD.NET in your C# app to execute the DMX query and fetch a data reader, open up another connection to your relational database and write rows of data to the second connection as you read them from the first.
    b) You can create a linked server to your Analysis Server instance in your SQL Server relational server instance and then execute a "SELECT * INTO <newtable> FROM OPENQUERY(<linkedserver>, <DMX query>)" T-SQL statement from your relational database connection.

    You can create an icommand query. You can then use the icommand retrieval methods to capture and manipulate the query data.
    (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_xmii115/helpdata/en/Applet_Reference_Details/iCom
    mand_Reference.htm)
    Basically what we did was, use the getColumnCount() and getRowCount() methods, once you have these two numbers you can set two for loops and use String getValue(int ColID, int RowID) , within the for loops you can generate the inner html content and write the values either in a html table or html form (which is what we did). This seems to work well, I'm still playing around with it and may post this approach on sdn by end of this week.

    Hey,
    Just perform an INSERT AS SELECT and don't forget to add APPEND hint. Also, you can do it using parallelism so before that just enable DML parallel for the IAS. Below are the commands:
    SQL> ALTER SESSION ENABLE PARALLEL DML;
    SQL> INSERT /*+ APPEND */ INTO NEW_TABLE (SELECT * FROM TABLE_QUERY);

  • How to Get the Unique Key results from OWB Tables after Profile

    Hi,
    We are using OWB 10gR2(Paris) Beta Version.
    In this version the new feature is introduced is Data Profiling.
    We are using this feature to analylize the data in terms of stanadards.
    We have done profiling for our tables and we are able to see the results for each table in OWB Profile Results Canvas. In this window one Unique Key tab is there to see the Unique results.
    Now my question is where these results will be stored in standard tables of OWB. I want to know those exact standard tables to extract thoes Unique results in to my reports.
    After profiling we are generating HTML-DB reports to view all these profile results. But we are not able to find the Uique Key tables where these results are stored.
    So pls can anybody provide help on this to get these tables...
    Thanks in advance...,
    Ramesh P.

    You can use DatabaseMetaData#getPrimaryKeys.

  • How to store query results into a table

    I want to store the query results to a table. Is there a way to automatically redirect output to a table without using a PL/SQL script.

    Run the following step only once unless you want to create the tabX everytime
    Create tabX as select x,y,z from tabY;
    Next time when you want to store the new results, run the following statement
    Insert into tabX select x,y,z from tabY;
