ADF Unable to filter / sort date column in table
Hi,
I am using JDeveloper 11.1.1.7.
I have a read only table inside a panel collection. One of the columns in the table is a date field. I have filterable and sortable properties set to true for all columns. Filter and sort property works for all columns expect the date column. The filter and sort options is not even shown for the date field (shown below).
<af:column headerText="#{bindings.ASRTCreateRequestVO1.hints.CreationDate.label}"
id="c7" sortable="true" width="100"
filterable="true">
<af:outputText value="#{row.CreationDate}"
id="ot7">
<af:convertDateTime pattern="#{bindings.ASRTCreateRequestVO1.hints.CreationDate.format}"/>
</af:outputText>
</af:column>
Please let me know if I am missing anything here.
Thanks,
Ashwin
Hi Ashwin,
As mentioned by Timo, for me also the filtering is working as usual.
But while browsing through the ADF UI Guide I came across with below note
If you want to use a component other than an inputText component for your filter (for example, an inputDate component), then instead of setting filterVisible to true, you can add the needed component to the filter facet.
To do so:
1. In the Structure window, right-click the column to be filtered and choose Insert inside af:column > JSF Core > Filter facet.
2. From the Component Palette, drag and drop a component into the facet.
3. Set the value of the component to the corresponding attribute within the FilterableQueryDescriptor class created in Step 1(not above step but you can find it in pg:390). Note that the value must take into account the variable used for the row, for example:
#{af:inputDate label="Select Date" id="name" value="row.filterCriteria.date"}.
This is in the section: 12.5.1 How to Add Filtering to a Table(pg:390).
I hope it helps.

Peddi.

In ADF how can i insert data in multiple table if they have foreign key
I have started working on ADF and can anybody inform me in ADF how can i insert data in multiple table if they have foreign key,please?
Thnak you very much.Hello,
Still no luck.I am surely doing silly mistakes.Anyway,Here are my workings-
1> student_mst (id(pk),studentname) and student_guard_mst(id(fk),guardianname)
2> created EO from both of the tables,made id in both EO as DBSequence and an association was also generated.
3> i made that association composite by clicking the checkbox
4> i created 2 VO from 2 EO.
5> put those VO in Application Module.
6> dragged and dropped 2 VO on my jspx page and dropped them as ADF Form.
Now what to do please? -

Unable to filter the data for multiple time selections by dimensions
Hi to all,
I am new in MDX, i have a problem with my MDX query.
Calculated Member Logic:
SUM((OPENINGPERIOD([Date].[YQMD].[Year],[Date].[YQMD].[Month].&[2010-12-01T00:00:00]):[Date].[YQMD].Currentmember),[Measures].[Paid Amt])
Mdx Logic EX:
With Member [MEASURES].[Received_Amount]
AS
SUM((OPENINGPERIOD([Date].[YQMD].[Year],[Date].[YQMD].[Month].&[2010-12-01T00:00:00]):[Date].[YQMD].Currentmember)
,[Measures].[Paid Amt])
SELECT {[MEASURES].[Received_Amount]} On Columns
,[Date].[YQMD].[Year].members On Rows
From [Financial]
If i select multiple time periods in Rows, the query working fine.
but if select multiple periods in where clause it is not responding.
With Member [MEASURES].[Received_Amount]
AS
SUM((OPENINGPERIOD([Date].[YQMD].[Year],[Date].[YQMD].[Month].&[2010-12-01T00:00:00]):[Date].[YQMD].Currentmember)
,[Measures].[Paid Amt])
SELECT {[MEASURES].[Received_Amount]} On Columns
,[Speciality].[Specialty Name].[Specialty Name].members On Rows
From [Financial]
Where {[Date].[YQMD].[Year].&[2012-01-01T00:00:00],[Date].[YQMD].[Year].&[2013-01-01T00:00:00]}
Note:
Each of them is considered from the minimum date in the database to the selected time.
And also the data has to be filtered with respect to each drill down dimension.
If select multiple time periods the same formula has to be applied with respect to the dimensions.
Kindly help me to get out of this problem
Best Regards,
NagendraHi David,
Thanks for your response.
I have a measure, i have to get received_amount in the database from the database starting period to my selection period. Later i have to check by dimensions using same measure. if i select any one period by dimension it's coming, but if i select multiple
periods in filter level by dimensions it's showing no records.
For Ex:
I have four years data in my database (2010-2013).
In 2010
Bill_Amt
Bill_Date
Specialty received_amount
1000
10/01/2010 4
600
2000
04/08/2010 2
1000
In 2013
Bill_Amt
Bill_Date Specialty
received_amount
1500
22/02/2013 2
1200
2000
14/03/2013 1
800
In the above scenario,
By Period:
if i go by period i should get,
Jan'13 ---> 1600
Feb'13 ---> 2800
Mar'13 ---> 3600
Specialty By Single Period:
If i select Jan'13 by specialty
Specialty
received_amount
2 1000
4 600
If i select Feb'13 by specialty
Specialty
received_amount
2 2200
4 600
If i select Mar'13 by specialty
Specialty
received_amount
1 800
2 2200
4 600
Specialty By Multiple selection Periods:
The result should be sum of the individual selection periods by specialty as follows,
If i select Jan'13 & Feb'13 by specialty
Specialty
received_amount
2 3200
4 1200
If i select Jan'13 , Feb'13 & Mar'13 by specialty
Specialty
received_amount
1 800
2 5400
4 1800

ADF Faces - how to sort a column by sub-property ?
hi,
in a "af:table", this works fine :
<af:column sortProperty="title" sortable="true">
<f:facet name="header">
<af:outputText value="Titre" />
</f:facet>
<af:outputText value="#{thisRowDoc.title}" />
</af:column>
but this doesn't :
<af:column sortProperty="facility.libelle" sortable="true">
<f:facet name="header">
<af:outputText value="Service" />
</f:facet>
<af:outputText value="#{thisRowDoc.facility.libelle}" />
</af:column>
how can i sort on a property of a property ?
thx !Hi,
you have to consider that when loading a tile for the first time always rowloaded2 is fired (several times) and afterwards onload. Maybe rowloaded2 again afterwards. So it should work to sort in onload.
But when clicking the <back> button in the menue the order of the fired events might be different!
Do you want to sort by an unbound column which is readonly or is it also editable (see other thread)? In this case things might be much more complicate... Normally another sorting should be done in onsave event but unfortunately you don't save anything as it is unbound...

How to sort data in results table(advanced table) based on some conditons
I have a requirement like below I have 3 search columns and 3 sort columns in the page. when user enter values in the search columns I will get results into advanced table. After I got results into results table. User will enter values in sort columns and hit sort submit button, Now the final results data should first display the selected sort values first and remaining data in alphabetical order.
ex: select a,b,c form table1 where a = nvl(:1,a) and b = nvl(:2,b)
results from main query
a , b,c,d,e,f
now user selects a value a1 in column a then results from main query data should display the a1 records first and remaining all records in alphabetical order.
Please let me know how can we approach to solve this problem.
Thanks,
KC.Hi
Use the following method :
Set the OrderByClause in your voImpl():
the following is the description of OrderByClause method :
setOrderByClause
public void setOrderByClause(java.lang.String expr)
Sets the ORDER BY clause of the View Object's query statement. Bind variables can be specified using '?' as a place-holder for the value. The new ORDER BY clause does not take effect until ViewObjectImpl.executeQuery() is called.

Get month from a date column ina table
Hi
I have a table that consists of one column of date data type. For example it stores mm/dd/yyyy.
I want to get all the records from this table where month = 12. for the year 2000.
I saw the extract function. However That is used while selecting. How can I give a condition in where clause:
select date_col
from dates-table
where <get month for date_col> = december or 12
and year = 2000???Ok that certainy helps.
This is what I am trying to do.
I have a procedure to which I am passing the date_param (of date data type).
declare
my_month date;
begin
select to_char(date_param,'MM') into my_month from dual;
select date_col from dates-table where to_char(date_col,'mm')= my_month and some_indicator='Y';
end;This will return me one date where the indicator is set to Y.
For example date_param is passed as 01/01/2000.
select to_char('01/01/2000','MM') from dual;I get the error when I run the above. I get an error saying invalid number. -
Unable to edit the data in z-table
Hi All,
I can create new entries in a z-table.
But i am unable to edit the existing rows of a z-table in the Production server.
The same can be done in DEV and test servers.
How to come out of this issue?
Kindly Help me....
Regards
PavanHi,
For this you have to maintain table maintenance generator....
go to se11....your table name
utilities--->table maintenance generator...
build a table maintenance generator..and transport the table...
then only you will be able to edit data in production server...

Filter valid data from two tables
We have one table (COMPANY_INFO) that has two columns. One lists company id and the other column is acceptable divisions for that company. The divisions are not the same format
We have another table (PERSON) that lists person name, company and division.
However, at times the division listed in the second table is not always one of the acceptable ones for that company. I am trying to output all instances where a person is listed for an unacceptable division for a particular company.
for example:
COMPANY_INFO
ID Div
1 A
1 B
2 AB
2 CD
3 A
3 1
3 2
PERSON
NAME ID DIV
G_smith 1 B
H_jones 2 EE
P_jobs 2 AB
M_barnes 3 A
L_appple 3 B
I would want it to return:
NAME ID DIV
H_jones 2 EE
L_appple 3 B
because "EE" is not an acceptable DIV value for ID 2 and "B" is not acceptable DIV value for ID 3
I tried changing some of the linking options, to be not equal, but that didn't work.
I would prefer to avoid using subreports for performance considerations. Any suggestions?
Thanks for your help!Hi Verald,
Link the tables like from Person -> Company_Info. Join them on both the Company ID and Divisions.
Change the link options to a Left Outer join.
Now go into the report and create a Record Selection Formula like:
{COMPANY_INFO.DIV} = "";
Go into File | Report Options and turn on Convert Null Database Values to Default.
When you run the report you should only get the records where there is no matching Division.
Good luck,

How to provide formulae for the columns in report based on date column
Hi,
How can we provide formulae for the columns in report, where each column is based on another Date Column.
Can anyone suggest on this.
ThanksHi Manu,
I think you a logical column X on which you created another Logical Column Y.
Now you want 'Y' to be filtered based on Date Column.
1. If, my assumption is right - You can do your requirement i.e. Filtering the logical col. 'Y' on Reports.
Else,
2. See - Your Logical column 'Y' While creating log. column 'Y' make sure you use any expression builder to filter across Date column. (i.e. using any case statements or where clause).
Else,
3. Make sure your First Logical column comes from Table by default (i.e. Create the same col. in d/b so it would be your Physic col. )
Thank you.

Hi anyone help with trying to resolve an issue with sorting data in a table I have created in Pages 08 v 3.0.2.
I have a table six columns across with rows down of data. I have so far entered 10 rows of data and wanted to sort the data based on column 1 then column 2 with the associated data in the other columns staying connected to column 2. Fairly straightforward stuff I thought so clicked the table header for column 1 then the ascending sort button in Inspector the results I got were not quite what I expected.
Here are three lines of data taken from columns 1 & 2. The sequence below is how I entered it. The data as you will see relates to classical music. In column 1 is the single word 'Mozart' all the other data is in column 2 on one line:
Mozart Symphony No 29 in A Major KV201
Mozart Symphony No 4 in D Major KV19
Mozart Symphony No 36 in C Major KV425 'Linz'
When I clicked the header for column 1 then the button in Inspector to sort the data ascending this is the result I got:
Mozart Symphony No 29 in A Major KV201
Mozart Symphony No 36 in C Major KV425 'Linz'
Mozart Symphony No 4 in D Major KV19
The first two entries are in the right order but the third one should obviously be first. Anyone know how I could resolve the issue I have with sorting data in the table I have created?
Thanks ....Just to expand on Beatrice's answer, Pages (as most other word processors) sorts alphabetically. 4 comes after 39 alphabetically because the 4 comes after the 3. It doesn't think, "oh, that's the number 4 which is smaller than the number 39." By placing the leading 0 we wind up comparing 04 to 39 and yes, the zero is in front of the 3 so it gets placed ahead of it.

APEX_UTIL.IR_FILTER with BETWEEN operator for date columns
Hi,
when I run my application I can set a BETWEEN-filter for date columns. I can't find a way how to use it with the APEX_UTIL.IR_FILTER function. Maybe I miss something?
Documentation: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17556_01/doc/apirefs.40/e15519/apex_util.htm#CHDDDFBF
TobiasTobias,
If you think about it, a "Between" is nothing more than a single line way to say
WHERE :X >= :Y
AND :X <= :Z
So you should be able to apply two filters to the report using the LTE and GTE operators
Hope this helps
