Adf validation date field timestamp

while doing some validation of comparing date fields with timestamp fields i am finding inconsistent behavior in jdev 11 1 1 5. is this known issue. what is best way to do EO level declarative Compare Greater Than / Less Than validations on fields which are of type date and timestamp ?

First of all, "ADF" on the view side (which is where UIX is) has undergone some dramatic changes.
10.1.2 and before: you had UIX
10.1.3.x: ADF Faces 10g
11.x: ADF Faces 11g (which, although is JSF like ADF Faces 10g, the component set is so different as to be almost a "new thing")
So, when you're asking about the view technologies, 10.1.2, 10.1.3, and 11.x are dramatically different. ADF Business Components, even though they have gone through changes, are "the same enough" across the versions as to be understandably similar, but not the view technologies.

  • Changes to Rebate Agreement Validity Date Field

    Hi,
    We are trying to prevent people from changing the "Validity To" date field (KONA-DATBI) on Rebate Agreement masters (VBO3). They are back dating the field which is causing probelms for running billings.
    Is they any way this can be done via a validation on that field or a message that pops up when the field is changed to something earlier than current date?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    This fields is opened for a good reason, sometimes the end-date of an agreement should be reduced when you want to split a period and therefore create a new agreement for the remaining period.
    In my opinion this is a procedure problem, your users must know what they do.
    If someone still keeps on introducing incorrect data in the system, this person should receive additional training and / or be warned.
    To answer your specific question:
    There is no user-exit for the rebate agreement master data. Quite a shame.

  • Validating Date fields in Self Registration page in OIM 11g

    Hi
    I have 2 custom date fields(Start Date, End Date) in Self Registration page in OIM 11g.
    I need to do validation on these fields, like difference between start date and end date should not be more than 3 months.
    I should show a popup message to user whenever start date and end date is more than 3 months.
    How to achieve this?
    Thanks in Advance

    Hello!
    Sorry bring up this topic again, but I have faced a "curious" situation. My validator code is:
        public void validate(RequestData reqData) throws InvalidRequestDataException {
            List<RequestEntity> requestEntities = reqData.getTargetEntities();
            if (requestEntities != null && !requestEntities.isEmpty()) {
                for (RequestEntity requestEntity : requestEntities) {
                    List<RequestEntityAttribute> attributes = requestEntity.getEntityData();
                    for (RequestEntityAttribute attribute : attributes) {
                        if (attribute.getName().equals("CPF")) {
                            if (attribute.getValue().equals("12345678900")) {
                                throw new InvalidRequestDataException("Invalid CPF");
            (new oracle.iam.requestactions.plugins.datavalidator.CreateUserDataValidator()).validate(reqData);
        }This is still in testing, but have you guys noticed the last line?
    It works nicely, is it normal? If it is, is there any reason for my exception just been raised when I submit the request? (for example, if the user provides a duplicated e-mail it rises before mine.

  • Adf Javascript code to complete an input date field

    Hey guys,
    I have an adf input date field
    <af:inputDate value="#{MyBean.date}">
    <af:clientListener method="onEnterDate" type="keyPress"/>
    </af:inputDate>
    I want to implement a javascript function that completes the date field, means: when the user enters 10 in the field and presses the ENTER key on the keyboard, I want to complete the date with the current system time, like this (10/11/2011), so how can I do this...
    Thanks in advance..
    AccadSoft

    You could write a [url http://myfaces.apache.org/trinidad/devguide/clientValidation.html]client-side converter to do this.

  • Problem with the date field in Table Control

    I have created a table control in my module programming. One of the column in the table control is a date field which is I/O field.
    Now if I enter a value in date field column and hit enter the date field is reset. I dont want the field to get reset and accept valid date field.
    I have set type of the column as DATS and I havent used any dictionary fields. The column is from the internal table in the program.
    Please suggest

    In your PAI, in the LOOP AT <itab> did you
    - check date validity
    - update internal table
    * Sample
    LOOP AT itab.
      FIELD itab-field MODULE checkfield.
      MODULE updateitab.

  • Validity Date at BOM componet

    Dear all,
    I'm strugling on changing the valid-to date for a BOM component.
    Let me explain in detail what the scenario is and what I've done so far.
    I have a BOM header "Z" with 5 different components, Y, X, W, V and U. Validity dates should be as follows:
    - Y --> 02.04.2010 to 31.12.9999
    - X --> 02.04.2010 to 31.12.9999
    - W --> 02.04.2010 to 31.12.9999
    - V --> 02.04.2010 to 20.02.2012
    - U --> 21.02.2012 to 31.12.9999
    I have created a change number with validity date 21.02.2012, but when trying to change BOM components validity dates fields will be grey and won't allow me to do the necessary changes.
    Could you please guide me with the necessary steps that I need to follow or where my issue would be? - I have already been checking the forum and followed some of your tips(checked config and so on, and everything seems to be ok).
    Thanks a lot in advance for your help on this one as it's quite urgent to solve this so we can test it, as we need to provide with some explamples on how material variances report will be affected to client ASAP.
    Kind regards,
    Mario

    Hi Mariete ,
    you just need to create a change number with the valid date you want for component , example if you create a change number valid from 01.01.2010 and if you use it for changing BOM , all the changes you made will have this validity date.
    its not possible to input validity dates, so all the times it will be greyed out , you can control it as discribe above.
    in you case you need to create 2 change numbers , 1 with valid from date in 02.04.2010 and use it for component Y X W and V
    and others with validity date 21.02.2012 and use it for component U.
    another thing please keep in mind if you BOM is created in todays date or date which is greater then 02.04.2010 will be a problem , so suggestion is while creating BOM , use a change number which is valid from 02.04.2010 and cause of it all 4 components will be automitacily hace valid date 02.04.2010.
    and after creating this BOM with 4 component  use a second change number and add component U.
    please check i hope it wil help you.
    Thanks
    Ritesh

  • How to handle empty Dats field received from SAP RFC response

    Hi All,
    I am invoking a SAP RFC which gives me a Dats field in response.
    A valid dats fields is successfully received by my pipelines.
    But when an empty Dats field is received, My pipeline fails and i get error.
    How to handle the empty Dats field from SAP

    Hi Anant,
    This is because the legacy SAP adapter accepted RFC messages with date field empty. In the new version, the same call results in an error. WCF-SAP adapter doesn't allow blank XML nodes.
    You need to use the below custom pipeline component as a workaround.
    Refer:

  • Validating a Date field in ADF which only contains a time

    Hi,
    I'm having problems in JDeveloper 10121 validating a "time" field in a jsp.
    * I have this field: <html:text property="InterviewTime" size="4" maxlength="4" />
    which is a date. I want the user to enter a date in 24 hour format. I.e. 0000 to 2400.
    * In my view object the interview time has a format of Simple Date (kkmm).
    * In the entity object this is a date column.
    If I submit with a valid date then it's fine. However if for example I enter 3333 and save I get a date parse error. The problem is where do I handle this?
    I added validation to the entity object but this only gets called when the date is valid (I imagine it is further on in the lifecycle?)
    I also added some regex to the onCommit method but again this gets called later in the lifecycle.
    Can anybody help?
    Thanks,
    Andy

    Frank,
    I can't use ADF Faces as I'm using 1012.
    I have a method validation on the entity object as shown below:
    public boolean validateInterviewTime()
    Date interviewTime = getInterviewTime();
    if ( interviewTime != null )
    LOG.info("Testing");
    SimpleDateFormat sd = new SimpleDateFormat("kkmm");
    String interviewTimeString = sd.format( getInterviewTime().getValue() );
    LOG.info("interviewTimeString"+interviewTimeString);
    if ( !Pattern.matches( "((0?[0-9]|1[0-9]|2[0-3])[0-5][0-9])", interviewTimeString ) )
    LOG.info("BAD");
    return false;
    else
    return true;
    However if the interview time is outside the range anyway (i.e. not between 0000 and 2359) then it will not even get as far as validating it as I get an invalid date exception called?
    So I need to catch it somewhere else.

  • Adf-Struts/JSP/BC4J- and setting date fields from jsp

    Hi,
    I'm working with the new ADF Frameworks (JDev 9.0.5.1) and ran into some questions regarding exception handling using BC4J, Struts and JSPs.
    I have a DATE column in database and an entity and VO with a datefield with type oracle.jbo.domain.Date.
    My JSP shows a textfield and the user should enter a valid date. Everything fine, until date is of wrong format or contains illegal characters...
    Problem:
    ADF tries to do a setAttribute on the datefield in VO row which expects a parameter with type oracle.jbo.domain.Date. When the user entered e.g. "NiceWeather" as date, I get an IIlegalArgumentException while converting to the correct Date format. This exception isn't thrown by bc4j as AttrValException and therefore my JSP renders a global error instead of a message directly behind the date field.
    I tried to validate the datefield in my DataForm and in my Action in the validateModelUpdates() method, but with no fitting solution.
    Any ideas how to validate a datefield with adf/struts/jsp/bc4j?
    Thanks for your help!
    Torsten.

    Torsen - In the first instance I'd recommed that you try and handle it declaritively using the Struts Validator Framework . See http://otn.oracle.com/products/jdev/howtos/10g/StrutsValidator/struts_validator_howto.html
    There is a section in there on how to use the validator with ADF databound pages and you can check the format the user enters via generated JavaScript.
    Also check out the matching sample project:
    http://otn.oracle.com/sample_code/products/jdev/10g/ADFandStrutsValidator.zip - this has a data field check on it as well

  • Ejb datacontrol, query panel with timestamps / date field errors

    Hi,
    I made an ejb datacontrol on a session bean in jdev 11g ps1 and used the named criteria of this entity in the data control to create an af querypanel. This works well.
    first thing I cannot configure a date picker with time on this timestamp field (only date ).( does not matter what I configure in the entity datacontrol xml , it does not work )
    and displaying the timestamp field in a inputData ( result table ) and showing the time also does not work either.
    When I use in the query panel a between query operator on this date or timestamp field I get this error.

    Welcome to SDN.
    for F4 help with validation for dates you can use the following code.
    <htmlb:inputField id         = "wf_ad_date"
                                    type       = "date"
                                    showHelp   = "TRUE"
                                    value = "<%= sy-datum  %>"
                                    visible    = "true"
                                    disabled   = "false"
                                    required   = "true"
                                    maxlength  = "10"
                                    size       = "10"
                                    doValidate = "true"
                                    design     = "standard" />

  • Date Field validation in APEX 4.0

    Hi,
    I am using APEX 4.0 for developing my application. I have an SEARCH region in which I have an DATE item with format MM/DD/YYYY. When I enter the date with any junk characters like 'XXXXXXX' then it throws me an validation as "Invalid Date Format" message both in Notification and Inline (Below date Item). This is an APEX 4.0 inbuilt validation for date field and its not the validation created by me in that page explicitly.
    My Issue is that I do not want to Display the validation message inline to the field and I need the message only in Notification. What setting I need to do in Date Item to remove the inline validation message form that field.
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi,
    In your validation process, under the error message section
    (i.e) in the error message display location: set inline in notification give this,
    so that the notification will be fired only in message, not inline to the field.

  • "Schema validation found non-data type errors" error when passing a string value to date field in infopath

    Hi,
    I have an infopath web brower enabled form. In the form i have a date field.
    I am passing the data from the database to that field using the C# code.
    But, as the field from database is coming as string, i am getting an error, and i am not able to assign the value.
    I get the date value from database as "3/25/2011 12:00:00 AM"
    I used the below code:
    [CODE]
    if (objInfopathFormcData.myRecievedDate != null)
      myRoot.SelectSingleNode("/my:myFields/my:field97", NamespaceManager).SetValue(objInfopathFormcData.myRecievedDate);
    [/CODE]
    I am getting the error as "Schema validation found non-data type errors".
    How to set the value for a date field in Infopath.
    Thank you

    HI,
    I fixed it:
    Below code is used to fix:
    [CODE]
    XPathNavigator xfield = null;
    DateTime dtmyRecievedDate;
    dtmyRecievedDate = Convert.ToDateTime(objInfopathFormcData.myRecievedDate);
    if (objFormcData.FcCompletionDate != null)
    xfield = myRoot.SelectSingleNode("/my:myFields/my:field97", NamespaceManager);
    DeleteNil(xfield);
    xfield.SetValue(dtmyRecievedDate.GetDateTimeFormats().GetValue(5).ToString());
    // method to delete xsi:nil
    private void DeleteNil(XPathNavigator nav1)
    if (nav1.MoveToAttribute("nil", "http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"))
       nav1.DeleteSelf();
    [/CODE]
    Thank you

    Hi manish ,
    I have Used the following code to validate end date should be more less than start date;
    DECLARE
    l_error VARCHAR2 (4000);
    BEGIN
    IF TO_DATE(apex_application.g_f05 (i), 'DD-MON-YYYY ') > TO_DATE (apex_application.g_f04 (i),'DD-MON-YYYY'
    THEN
    l_error :=l_error
    || '</br>'
    || 'Row '
    || i
    ||' ,TEST';
    END IF;
    END LOOP;
    RETURN LTRIM (l_error, '</br>');
    END;
    it's giving the error like :
    ORA-06550: line 16, column 6: PLS-00103: Encountered the symbol "RETURN" when expecting one of the following: begin function pragma procedure The symbol "begin was inserted before "RETURN" to continue. ORA-06550: line 16, column 24: PLS-00103: Encountered the symbol "BEGIN"
    Error ERR-1024 Unable to run "function body returning text" validation.
    What to change in the code?
