Adjust drop down list size

I have multiple sites that are accessible from a drop down list on the home page (SharePoint Online 2013) but the drop down list is so small the names of the sites looks terrible. Is there a way to adjust (increase width) the size of the drop down list ?
thx in advance

Hi,
To change the width of an element in your page, you will need to located this element in the HTML source of the current page first, you can use IE Developer Tools:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd565626(v=vs.85).aspx#findMenu
After you got the HTML source of this element, we use CSS Selector to locate it, and specify the style we needed for it.
Here are two demos for your reference:

Feel free to reply if there any questions.

  • Changing the size of a drop down list

    Hi Everyone,
    Is there anyway to change the size of a drop down list?  For example, our customer would like to make the drop down list for the Ship-To field on the logistics tab of the sales orders longer.  Currently, they cannot see the full name when they scroll through it.  Is this possible?  Depending on what Customer Code they enter, the field size appears to change.
    Thank you in advance for your help.
    Amanda

    I am using Tahoma size 10 as well.
    Is the drop down size somehow related to the size of the first few records?  So, if those are shorter than those at the end, perhaps it doesn't adjust for the size of the bottom records.  For example, in our customer's database here's a sampling of what they have entered and the order:
    Wal-Mart 6124
    Wal-Mart 6125
    Wal-Mart 6126
    Wal-Mart 7001
    Wal-Mart Supercenter 1111
    Wal-Mart Supercenter 2094
    Wal-Mart Supercenter 3475
    The drop down box is large enough to see the Wal-Mart 6124, etc. but not large enough to see the Wal-Mart Supercenter ones at the bottom of the list (keep in mind there are over 100 ship-to's for this Business Parnter).  Does it maybe only look at the first fifty records or something like that?
    Thanks again,
    Amanda

  • Adobe Captivate 4 Quiz(Matching)  Drop down list font size too small.

    Hi,
    We are using Adobe Captivate 4.  Quiz (Matching).  Exported to SWF.
    The drop down list fonts are small. We want to use bigger font in the drop down list, but cant find a way.
    Any one can help?
    Thanks

    Hello,
    Formatting Question slides in CP is sometimes a pain. I cannot give you a proper answer, but it would be great if you filed a feature request to the team to have more control over the styles used in this dropdown list (link is in the main page of this forum). If we are many to ask for such enhancements, it will get higher on the priority list.
    As you probably discovered, in the Properties of the dropdown lists in the Matching Question slide you can only change font and color, not font size. My proper workaround is choosing a font that gives the best result, some fonts really look bigger than others. This is not always consistent with the styles in the rest of the movie, but I adapt all the Text in Question slides to this choosen font.
    Sorry not to be able to help you. Question slides are in the folder, but in SWC-format, and I cannot open those files, even though I have Flash CS4 installed. Perhaps a Flash-wise guy will pop in to help you.

  • Increase the size drop down list

    Hi all,
    I have a drop down list and some of the lengthy names them are not displaying fully. I have 300 as width and 2000 as max width.
    I guess its nothing to do with that. Is there any other option to make the names to be displayed fully?
    Thanks

  • Font in Menu Bar and Drop Down list way too small

    I just tried PSE 10 and was very surprised to see that Adobe did not address the problem with the font size being way too small in the menu bar and drop down list.  I cannot possibly read the font - so the program is basically unusable.  I am using a new 17inch laptop.  Is it possible that after all the complaints Adobe didn't fix this problem in PSE 10?  Are they even working on it?  I love the program but unfortunately I am going to have to switch to something else because there is no way I can read the font and thus cannot use the program at all.  Very, very disappointing.  Hopefully they are working on a fix???

    Photoshop CS5 Essential has preferences that offer users the opportunity to adjust menu bar background color as well as font size.  For example,
    "UI Font Size
    If you find that Photoshop's interface text is a little too small for comfort, you can increase its size by changing the UI Font Size option to either Medium or Large. And no, this option isn't just for old folks with poor eye sight. Working on a very high resolution monitor can make Photoshop's interface text appear very small. Personally, I like to set my font size to Large which I find helps to avoid eye strain. You'll need to close and then re-open Photoshop for the change to take effect:
    Change the font size to increase some of the text in Photoshop's interface.

  • Error while populating drop down list with values from a database

    Hi all,
    I have a JSP page with a drop down list that is to be populated with values from a database.
    This is the code in my JSP file:
         <!-- Form for picking the floor -->
             <!-- Get the available floors -->
             <% ArrayList<Integer> floornumbers = dataManager.getAllFloorNumbers();
                Iterator<Integer> iterator = floornumbers.iterator(); %>
             <!-- Create the form for users to select the floor -->
             <form id="floorselectionform">
                  <input type="hidden" name="action" value="floorselected"/> <!-- Guides the servlet to redirect to the appropriate page -->
                  Select floor | <select name="floorselector" id="floorselector">
                       <% while (iterator.hasNext()) { %>
                       <option value="<%=iterator.next().intValue()%>"> <%=iterator.next().intValue()%> </option>
                       <% } %>
                  </select>
                  <input type="submit" value="Go!"/>
             </form>   The DataManager.java class simply forwards this to its respective Peer class, which has the code shown below:
          package seatplanner.model;
        import java.sql.Connection;
        import java.sql.ResultSet;
        import java.sql.SQLException;
        import java.sql.Statement;
        import java.util.ArrayList;
        /* This class handles all floor operations */
         public class FloorPeer
         /* This method returns all the floor numbers */
         public static ArrayList<Integer> getAllFloorNumbers(DataManager dataManager) {
            ArrayList<Integer> floornumbers = new ArrayList<Integer>();
            Connection connection = dataManager.getConnection();
            if (connection != null) {
              try {
                Statement s = connection.createStatement();
                String sql = "select ID from floor order by ID asc";
                try {
                  ResultSet rs = s.executeQuery(sql);
                  try {
                    while (rs.next()) {
                      floornumbers.add(rs.getInt(1));
                  finally { rs.close(); }
                finally {s.close(); }
              catch (SQLException e) {
                System.out.println("Could not get floor numbers: " + e.getMessage());
              finally {
                dataManager.putConnection(connection);
            return floornumbers;
         }  The classes compile properly, but when I load this page up in Tomcat it just freezes and does not load the form. I tested the DB connection and it works fine.
    What am I doing wrong in the JSP code?
    Thanks for the help in advance.
    UPDATE: I commented out the form, and added <%=floornumbers.size()%> right above the commented code to check if the ArrayList is indeed getting populated with the values from the database (the values are of type integer in the database). The page still freezes like before. I'm puzzled now :confused: .

    Wrong usage of Iterator.
    <!-- Form for picking the floor -->
             <!-- Get the available floors -->
             <% ArrayList<Integer> floornumbers = dataManager.getAllFloorNumbers();
                Iterator<Integer> iterator = floornumbers.iterator(); %>
             <!-- Create the form for users to select the floor -->
             <form id="floorselectionform">
                  <input type="hidden" name="action" value="floorselected"/> <!-- Guides the servlet to redirect to the appropriate page -->
                  Select floor | <select name="floorselector" id="floorselector">
                       <% while (iterator.hasNext()) {
                                    Integer inte = iterator.next();
                            %>
                       <option value="<%=inte.intValue()%>"><%=inte.intValue()%></option>
                       <% } %>
                  </select>
                  <input type="submit" value="Go!"/>
             </form>or make use of enhanced loop as you are already using J2SE 5.0+ for avoiding confusions.
    <!-- Form for picking the floor -->
             <!-- Get the available floors -->
             <% ArrayList<Integer> floornumbers = dataManager.getAllFloorNumbers(); %>
             <!-- Create the form for users to select the floor -->
             <form id="floorselectionform">
                  <input type="hidden" name="action" value="floorselected"/> <!-- Guides the servlet to redirect to the appropriate page -->
                  Select floor | <select name="floorselector" id="floorselector">
                       <% for(Integer inte:floornumbers) {%>
                       <option value="<%=inte.intValue()%>"><%=inte.intValue()%></option>
                       <%}%>
                  </select>
                  <input type="submit" value="Go!"/>
             </form>and a lot better thing would be making usage of basic Taglib provided with JSTL spec or struts spec which make life easier and simple.
    something like usage of <c:forEach/> or <logic:iterate/> would be lot better without writing a single scriptlet code.
    Hope that might help :)

  • Display pages that reacts to different values in the drop down list.

    I currently did up a simple drop down list that stores values retrieved from the database. I would like the program to display pages that reacts to the selected value without the press of any button, which means, if I select any value from the drop down list, the page will be displayed according to the value selected.

  • How to populate page drop-down list in Struts from action?

    I have following mockup JSP:
    <td colspan="2" height="28"> <font size="2">
            <html:select property="sj">
               <html:option value="allj">aaa,1,str1</html:option>
             </html:select>
                        </font>
                      </td>
    ...Struts action will prepare results as String[] array e.g.:
    aaa,1,str1
    aaa,2,str2
    aaa1,1,str3
    aaa1,b,str4
    and I have to show this in the page as a drop-down list of values that are represented in this String[] array returned from Struts action.
    Should action return result array in original ActionForm submitted to the action by this page or should it just put the array into request or session? I need an example if possible
    Many thanks,

    Hi,
    In ur Action Class create aa ArrayList of LabelValueBean Object (use import org.apache.struts.util.LabelValueBean; )
    Eg:
    ArrayList myList  = new ArrayList();
    for( int i=0; i<10 ; i++ )
       myList.add( new LabelValueBean(  "Label of  "+ i , " value of " +i  ) );
    }put myList either in request or session
    eg
    session.setAttribute(  "DisplayList", myList  );****************************************************************
    in JSP use JSTL Tags for JSP
    eg
    <html-el:select property="listToDisplay"  style="width=200" size="1">
    <html-el:option value="-1">--Select One--</html-el:option>
    <html-el:options collection="DisplayList" property="value" labelProperty="label" />
    </html-el:select>Here "DisplayList" will be ref'ed from session scope or request scope.
    Hope this can solve ur Doubt.

  • How to increase the width of the drop down list box in SSRS multi value parameter

    Hi,
    I am using SSRS 2012. I have a parameter, which accepts multi value.
    The width of the drop down list box is very small, and the user need to scroll to the right to view the complete view of the content in the list box. But, if I don't use multi value then the length is good.  Kindly suggest how to I increase the width
    of the list box when it set to multi value parameter.
    Thanks in advance,
    Mahalengam Arumugam

    Hi Mahalengam,
    After testing the issue in my local environment, I can reproduce it. When the values for a single parameter are too long, the drop-down list of the parameter will automatically enlarge to an appropriate size. While the values for a multiple parameter are
    too long, we need to scroll to the right to view the complete view of the content in the list box in SSRS 2008. But in SSRS 2008R2 and SSRS 2012, we can directly drag the black control at the bottom of the list box to control the size.
    The following screenshot is for your reference:
    If there are any other questions, please feel free to ask.
    Thanks,

    Hi Katherine,
    Thanks for your reply. I understood we need to drag the list box to a maximum size to view the contents.
    But, this seems an additional task, i know this is a limitation in the current version of SSRS and hope it will be resolved in the next versions.
    Thanks for your efforts,

    I implemented an autocomplete mechanism, using ICompletionSession and ICompletionSourceProvider. I have an issue with the size of the drop-down list opened when I use this autocomplete mechanism. The width of the autocomplete list remains the same, even
    if the strings displayed change. This is apparent especially when I hit "backspace" on the already typed string, while the drop down list is opened: the deletion of the last character allows for more completion strings to be used, but since the drop
    down width does not change, the longer strings appear cut.
    Is there a way to force the drop down list to recalculate its width?

    I don't think there's any way, even VS itself can't do that you know, and the interfaces don't have such kind of events or properties.

  • Dynamic table with dynamic drop-down list values

    Hi,
    I need to display a dynamic table with 2 columns on an interactive form.
    My Context is defined as below:
    Root
    StudentData     0..n
    StudentName
    StudentCourses     0..n
    Text
    Value
    The 1st column should display student name, 2nd column should display student courses. The courses will be different for each student. I populated the context properly. I checked it by printing them. My DDL is bound to "Student Courses".
    When there is one row -> The DDL is populated with the courses of student 1 (as there is only one).
    When there are more rows -> The DDLs for all the students are populated with all the courses of all the students.
    I want to see the data populated like:
    TEXTFIELD    DROP-DOWN LIST
    Student 1------Student1-Course1
    Student1-Course2
    Student1-Course3
    Student 2------Student2-Course1
    Student2-Course2
    Student2-Course3
    I tried to do this in plain web dynpro using SVS.. it is also working similarly.
    I have set the singleton property of nodes "StudentData" and "StudentCourses" to false.
    Could any one tell me where I am going wrong?
    Thanks
    Ram

    Ram,
    I'm not sure how much this will help, but I know I had the same problem as you when I tried to get a similar thing working, but I can't remember which of the many changes I made fixed the problem, so I'll just show you my code and perhaps you can see if anything is different than yours.
    Here's where I'm creating my dropdown - in my case EastNew_RegOut is the same as your StudentData, and RateTypeDropValues is the same as your StudentCourses (the comments in the code are not meant to sound bossy to you, this is actually an example piece of code that other developers in my company "steal", so I have to put very specific instructions in there!):
    int nodeSize = wdContext.nodeEastNew_RegOut().size();
    for (int i = 0; i < nodeSize; i++) {
         //create an element called "table", that's the element at i.  So, basically it's a row.  Maybe I should have
         //called it "row" instead of table.
         IPublicDeviceExchange.IEastNew_RegOutElement table = (IPublicDeviceExchange.IEastNew_RegOutElement)wdContext.nodeEastNew_RegOut().getElementAt(i);
         //this line of code just executes an rfc that finds out what rates need to be in the dropdown for this particular row
         executeRateTypeDropdown(rateCategory, table.getNum(), wdContext.currentEastNew_MeterOutElement().getReggrp());
         //clear out what's already in there before we re-populate it.
         table.nodeRateTypeDropValues().invalidate();
         //now, I'm looping through all the values in the *actual* rate type dropdown (the one that's an RFC, populated by the above "execute" method)
         for (int j = 0; j < wdContext.nodeEastRatetype_DropdownOut().size(); j++) {
              //for each element in the *actual* Rate type dropdown, I'm going to create an element in my node that I created
              //and set the values from the *actual* one as the values in my node.
                        IPublicDeviceExchange.IRateTypeDropValuesElement element = wdContext.createRateTypeDropValuesElement();
              IPublicDeviceExchange.IEastRatetype_DropdownOutElement rateTypeOut = (IPublicDeviceExchange.IEastRatetype_DropdownOutElement)wdContext.nodeEastRatetype_DropdownOut().getElementAt(j);
              element.setText(rateTypeOut.getText());
              element.setValue(rateTypeOut.getRatetype());
              //here's another key - notice how I don't say wdContext.nodeRateTypeDropValues() - it's the one that's
              //directly off that table I created earlier - the thing that's essentially a row in my newReg table.
              //So, what I'm doing here is adding that new element I created to the dropdown FOR THAT ROW!
              //(btw, if you're trying to duplicate this, and this method does not exist for your "table" object, it's
              //probably because you didn't listen to me above and you didn't create your node with the singleton property
              //set to false.)
              table.nodeRateTypeDropValues().addElement(element);
    As for my layout... my table is bound to the EastNew_RegOut node, and the column with the dropdown is bound to RateTypeDropValues.Value  (that's probably obvious, but there you have it anyway)
    Finally, in my context, EastNew_RegOut is singleton = true (I was surprised about this, actually, I would have assumed it was false) with a selection of 0..1 and RateTypeDropValues has singleton set to false with a selection of 0..1
    I hope that helps to some degree!

  • Drop Down list in table with data from database table

    Hi,
    I have created an interactive form in WD ABAP.
    In Context tab I have created the nodes as follows:
    ZSOHEADER node with cardinality 1..1
    |-> MATERIAL node with cardinality 0..n. Under MATERIAL node there are 2 attrib. MAKTX and MATNR.
    I am fetching data from MARA table into an internal table IT_MARA.
    The node MATERIAL is bound to internal table IT_MARA.
    I have created a table with property ' Body rows vary depending on data ' .
    I have only one row in table. The first cell of the row is a drop down field.
    I have bind the field to the node MATERIAL->DATA->MAKTX.
    Now the issue is even though I have created only one row in my table, in preview it is creating as many rows in the table as the no.of records in the internal table.
    I want only one row with the drop down list containing all values of the internal table.
    Kindly suggest what to do.
    Regards,
    Vinod

    Hi,
    In the WebDynpro Context, in the main node create another node like A1 with cardinality 0..n and in this node create attributes TEXT and VALUE.
    Now goto method and in that method using code wizard read the node A1.
    And use the below code snippet sample in your program, i.e. code this under respective method of the webdynpro.
    *Declare the TYPES
    TYPES : BEGIN OF TY_TABLE,
    TEXT TYPE SOMETYPE,
    VALUE TYPE SOMETYPE,
    END OF TY_UOM.
    *Define Internal Table and work area.
    DATA : IT_TABLE TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF TY_TABLE INITIAL SIZE 0,
    WA_TABLE TYPE TY_TABLE.
    SELECT TEXT VALUE FROM TABLENAME INTO TABLE IT_TABLE.
    lr_node_info->bind_table( IT_TABLE ).
    And in the Adobe Form Layout
    Go to Menu of the Adobe LiveCycle Designer:
    Tools>Options..>DataBinding
    In that window you just check the Show Dynamic properties Check Box.
    Now for the Drop Down go the binding tab in object palette and click on the list items and there specify the Internal Table and specify the text as the internal table text field and value as internal table value field.
    OR
    From the WebDynpro Native Library Palette use the Value Help Drop Down and in object pallette goto binding tab and provide the form interface binding. Before this in the WebDynpro goto Context and for the particular field under the properties provide the search help as dictionary search help and specify the name of the dictionary search help.
    OR
    We have another method of setting the Text and Value to the DDL directly in the WebDynpro by coding in the methods, I dont have much knowledge on this.

  • How do I add rows to a drop down list. I am using Excel 2008

    I am trying to incorporate added rows into a drop down list and am having no luch.  Any suggestions?

    Any of this help?
    Enter the items for your drop-down list into a list on the worksheet, one item per cell. In this example, I'll assume that the month names start in cell E1 and extend down to E12, but they can be in any out-of-the-way location on the worksheet. In Excel terminology, a rectangular group of cells (such as E1 to E12) is called a range.
    Select the cell that will contain the drop-down list. If you'd like more than one cell to display the same list, just select them all now rather than setting them up one at a time. (Click and drag to select a range; hold down Ctrl while you click to select non-adjacent cells.)
    Choose Data, Validation to display the Data Validation dialog box.
    Click the Settings tab.
    In the Allow field, select List.
    In the Source field, specify the range that contains the list items. In this example, the items are in cells E1 to E12, so type =E1:E12 into the field.

    NOTE   You cannot create a list in a shared workbook. You must remove the workbook from shared use first if you want to create a list.
    Every column in the list has AutoFilter enabled by default in the header row. AutoFilter allows you to filter or sort your data quickly.
    The dark blue border around the list clearly distinguishes the range of cells that makes up your list.
    The row that contains an asterisk is called the insert row. Typing information in this row will automatically add data to the list and expand the border of the list.
    A total row can be added to your list. When you click a cell within the total row, a drop-down list of aggregate functions becomes available.
    You can modify the size of your list by dragging the resize handle found on the bottom corner of the list border.

  • Selection in a drop-down list

              Hi,
              is there a way in HTML or DHTML or Javascript or ActionScript to implement
              this:
              in a HTML page, I have a drop-down sorted list:
              <SELECT NAME="Code" size="1" >
              <OPTION VALUE="All">All
              <OPTION VALUE="AACC" SELECTED>AACC
              <OPTION VALUE="ABCDD">ABCDD
              <OPTION VALUE="ABK">ABK
              <OPTION VALUE="BCCC">BCCC
              <OPTION VALUE="CABC">CABC
              <OPTION VALUE="CBBB">CBBB
              <OPTION VALUE="DACA">DACA
              </SELECT>
              If I press the letter A, the drop-down list points directly to the first
              value in the list that
              starts with an 'A' ==> AACC
              If I press the letter C, the drop-down list points directly to the first
              value in the list that
              starts with an 'C' ==> CABC
              What i want is the possibility to type a second letter:
              If I press the letter A, the drop-down list points directly to the first
              value in the list
              of values starting with an 'A' ==> AACC and if i press 'B', this should
              point to 'ABCDD',
              and again if i press a third letter 'K', this should point to 'ABK'.
              How do i do this ? (in HTML or DHTML or Javascript or ActionScript or even
              Java/JSP/Servlet ?
              thanks

    Yes there is no XTYPE default
    But you can develope your own xtype , see example
