You probably changed the roles of the admin user, maybe you used something like:
sr = cmo.getSecurityConfiguration().getDefaultRealm();
rm = sr.lookupRoleMapper('XACMLRoleMapper');
expr = rm.getRoleExpression(None,'Admin');
print expr;
rm.setRoleExpression(None,'Admin',expr+'|Usr(employee)');and forgot to add the old groups and users to the admin role.
You can try editing your boot.properties and enter a valid user which has the admin role.
The boot.properties file is locate in the <domain-home>/servers/AdminServer/security directory.
If this does not help, you can use the embedded LDAP backup files, locate in the <domain-home>/servers/AdminServer/data/ldap/backup.
Replace the existing files (in the /data/ldap/ldapfiles directory) with the backed-up ones.
Or delete the whole ldap directory and let the files be re-created on server start-up

    I have a batch file i create that will start everything up. I don't think i've ever seen your error, but the admin server can be called using the startWeblogic up one dir from Bin, i dont know if it makes a difference but i've always used that one. Copy and paste below into a text file (update your paths and urls accordingly), rename to a .bat and you should be able to start everything at once

  • WebLogic admin server not starting.

    Hi all,
    I have a problem with my WebLogic Admin server not starting. Following a VM reboot last week our admin servers are no longer starting. On this particular server we have 3 admin servers serving 3 separate environments.
    Theserver seems to be getting stuck right at the very start. I have tried removing tmp, cache and ldap directories. Searched for and removed all .lok files. I have manually turned on full debug to try and flush some extra information through standard out but no luck. It is very peculiar. When we have exported the domain to another box and started the admin server it has come up successfully.
    This is the output from the logs - this is literally as far as it get before it hangs and does nothing. As far as I know the next thing WebLogic is doing is checking the version. Has anyone any ideas what the problem could be? It is server wide as all 3 admin servers on the same box are suffering the same problem.
    This is Weblogic 10.3.2 on a Solaris vm

    Just a wild guess (as you have restarted the physical servers), it could be related to the entropy of the machine.
    What you can try to do is edit the java.security file in the $JAVA_HOME/jre/lib/security directory.
    Find the entry securerandom.source and edit the value to file:/dev/./urandom (instead of file:/dev/urandom)

  • Admin Server not starting.

    Hi,
    I'm trying to start weblogic admin sever through script.
    The server is not coming up. I'm gettign the following error
    The WebLogic Server did not start up properly.
    weblogic.management.AbortDeploymentException: weblogic.t3.srvr.FatalStartupException: Can't start server due to startup class failure WLI Startup Class - with nested exception:
    [com.bea.wli.init.WLIDBCreateException: javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: Unable to resolve 'cgDataSource' Resolved ; remaining name 'cgDataSource']
    I tried commenting the 'cgDataSource' line in config.xml and tried that didn't work out.
    Please suggest me how can i get rid of this error & start up the server.
    Thank you in advance.

    You can modify the setting in the config file for the startup class.
    The reason why the weblogic server is failing to start is that you might have marked 'Failure is Fatal' for the startup class. This prevents the server to start if the startup class fails to load.
    The reason why startup class is failing to load could be that it is trying to lookup a datasource from JNDI before the server has initialized the JDBC services. You can configure the startup class to load only after the JDBC services are initialised.
    The below startup class configuration should be used for if you want the startup class to load after JDBC initialisation and after application deployment
    <startup-class>
    <name><startup class Name></name>
    <target><Server to target></target>
    <deployment-order>1</deployment-order>
    <class-name><Actual Name of the startup class></class-name>
    </startup-class>
    The below startup class configuration should be used for if you want the startup class to load after JDBC initialisation and before application deployment
    <startup-class>
    <name><startup class Name></name>
    <target><Server to target></target>
    <deployment-order>1</deployment-order>
    <class-name><Actual Name of the startup class></class-name>
    <load-before-app-activation>true</load-before-app-activation>
    </startup-class>

  • Admin Server cannot start

    I installed the patch 117665-03 for Directory Server but i had the following error:

    Any solution for this error?
    What's happening?
    I tried to see the log but dont exist log on /var/opt/mps/admin-serv/logs.
    Please, i need a help.
    Thanks.
    Everton

    I had this problem and the pkgchk mentioned above helped to get the admin server going (thanks!) but I could not run the admin console. I saw:
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: org/GNOME/Accessibility/JavaBridge (Unsupported major.minor version 49.0)
    It turned out that something (I suspect the patch) had replaced my java1.5.0_06 binary with a java1.4.2_03 binary - but left the java1.5 directory structure alone! i.e. looking in /usr/jdk would have indicated that java1.5 was installed, but when I ran jdk1.5.0_06/bin/java -version , it reported java version "1.4.2_03". I was unimpressed.
    I ended up removing all the SUNWj5* packages and reinstalling them and then I could start the admin console.
    Now to find out what other damage this patch might have caused.....

  • Sun Java Web Server7 admin site doesnt start!!!

    Hi,
    i have installed Sun Java Web Server7 3 months ago.
    yesterday i was trying to look at the site configuration and wanted to start the server-admin interface.
    for some reason when i am running the command admin-server/bin/startserv the command end and return to the shell without any output.
    i have looked at the error and access logs after defining the error log level to finest and no output there also.
    i run netstat and looked at the process and there isnt any service listening on the management port.
    can someone please give me direction on debuging this problem.
    thanks in advanced

    Hi
    What is the version of WebServer you are using. I see admin-server as a service, i guess your version is Web Server 7.0u2 which has SMF support.
    During the installation if you have enabled SMF Solaris 10 OS creates SMF service for each instance of Web Server.
    Use the stopserv script and try to stop the admin-server and Web Server instances.
    Now run the following command svcs | grep admin-server and svcs | grep https. This should not show any services running.
    Now start the admin-server using $(Install_dir)/admin-server/bin/startserv and instance using ${install_dir}/<instance-directory>/bin/startserv
    Now run the following command svcs | grep admin-server. This should show the following output
    online 12:29:07 svc:/network/http:admin-server
    online 12:29:07 svc:/network/http:<instance-name>
    As you had mentioned in the previous replies it shows online*, which means currently the service in the starting state. Once the service started it will become online.
    If there is any problem starting the service, running the command svcs -xv will give the error output why the service went to maintenance. Please try the above and let me know what output you get for the above commands.

    Hi
    1. Looking carefully at the following 3 lines in server statup logs, after 2:20:39 PM GST, server waited like for 16 mts like 2:36:43 and invoked the Force Shutdown. Possible reasons I gave below.
    ####<Feb 14, 2010 2:20:37 PM GST> <Info> <netuix> <ePIMSEDMS2> <AdminServer> <[ACTIVE] ExecuteThread: '3' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)'> <<WLS Kernel>> <1266142837729> <BEA-423101> <[console] Initializing the NetUIx container>

    2. Since you mentioned this worked fine and nothing else is changed over a year, the possible cause may be like this. Looks like you have some Documentum stuff (or webapp or modules) loaded on this server. I am not much familiar with EMC Documentum stuff, except that we use that as external Content Management repository for Portal Applications. Looking at the full thread dump for thread 0, looks like documentum code is trying to publish something or interact with its documentum server and may be it is not getting the response back. So make sure if any external systems that this WLS interacts are all up and running.

    Hi, we've migrated a VMware virtual server, and our Weblogic Admin (and managed IRM server) no longer start. • Admin server not starting up

    Hi,
    We are testing out some scenarios. In one of the scenarios the server is not starting up. This is what we see in logs:

    Command: startup
    Also we see this in logs:
    wls.startuptimeout=300
    Funny thing is that it does not wait for 120000 secs in anycase.
    Is there any place we can change the startuptimeout to a higher value?

    We are testing out nodemanager scenarios. All we do is a default installation of the weblogic server. The test suite then tries to create the various nodemanager domains and execute different tests on it. Like starting stopping servers and various functionality checks. All this is done in a different location. The default installation folder of the weblogic is not tampered with by the test suite.

    I think you need to start the admin server before starting the other servers.

  • Authentication errors upon starting WLS 8.1 Admin server...

    Please excuse my ignorance as I am far from a WL Admin. I have been working on a problem that has been preventing my admin server from starting for the past couple of days now and haven't a clue as to what could be causing it. The admin server fails to start and when I check the error logs this is all that I see:<br>
    <b><i>The WebLogic Server did not start up properly.
    Reason: weblogic.security.SecurityInitializationException: Authentication for user system denied</i></b><br>
    Frustrating because it does not say what the problem is and when I spoke with the actual WL admin that set it up he did not seem to know either. He doesn't have a lot of time to spend looking into the problem right now because he is in the middle of another project and this is not a production issue because it is on a development server but it's where I have to do my testing so I have to get it back up. I did not configure it but do have complete access to whatever files I need to change I just don't know what I am supposed to do. He tells me that I need to do some research on the problem so here I am. If anyone has any suggestions on what I can do to even begin fixing the problem it would be much appreciated.<br>Thanks,<br>
    Jon

    It does tell you why the server won't start:
    "Authentication for user system denied"
    Thus, your boot identity (which is "system") can't be authenticated for some reason. It could be a bad password, improper configuration such that it can't find that user, or a missing user account.
    The other post talks about these things.
    An easy test for eliminating improper configuration is to copy config.xml to a safe place and then copy (or simply rename) config.xml.booted to config.xml. Then try to start the server.
    If it still won't start you have one of the other two problems. Likewise, if it does start, you have a configuration problem.

  • Error while starting Admin Server (no response)

    After installing Directory Server 5.0 on Solaris 2.6 everything has worked fine, Directory and Admin Server were accessable.
    Unfortunately after a server reboot I only could start / stop the Directory Server. When I try now to start the Admin server (./start-admin), there is no reaction. (When I try to start the console I get the anser "cannot connect ...".) Any idea?

    Check that the fully qualified name of the hostname is still valid... From the machine try to ping full DNS name of the machine.
