Administration link is missing

Hi Gurus,
I am using BI11g and default Sampllite.rpd
As a weblogic I could use the Analytics but the Administration link is missing!
I added this user to BiAdministrators and Administrator groups.
I assigned this user to Administrator role.
The result is same!
Any tips?

Hi,
I modified the password of the Administrator user, howerer the Administration link did not appear.
I created a very new rpd and for this the result same.
Once more again these users belong to BIAdministartor role directly and via groups.
The result is same.
At least one setting is not correct.

I have an installation of 11.1.1.5, using an upgraded webcat and rpd from a 10g system. None of the users/groups I have added to the BIAdministrator role can see the Administration link in the web UI.
I have seen two previous posts on this subject and followed those recommendations, but this hasn't helped.

Kicked myself hard when I realised what was going on here. In our 10g webcat almost all the webcat and privilege admin functions were assigned to the Presentation Server Administrators group, as this has no direct equivalent role in 11g when the catalog is upgraded the Presentation Server Administrators becomes a group, so doesn't appear in the 11g role structure. As I was doing various other tests with the catalog upgrade mechanism I altered the assignment in the 10g catalog before upgrading it.

Missing Administration Link

Hi all,
after upgrading to 11g none of my accounts seems to have the Administration link on top of the dashboard page.
How can I access Administration without it ? Is there another way to go to 'Manage Privileges' page where I can switch on 'Access to Administration' ?

I have checked that and I am already part of the Admin group.
Then I added the account to all other available groups, but the Administration Link doesn't show up.
Is this a migration issue? The rpd file is upgraded from 10g.
I have a Sample Sales system on a VM built from scratch where the problem does not exist.
Can I do something on database level to grant the Administration link to an account ?

Content Administration Tab is missing for administrator user in NW CE 7.1

we have a issue after upgrading the portal to NW CE 7.1 SP00 RTC.
"Content Administration" Tab is missing for administrator users

In CE version, we have to manually enable by using "Content Layer Tool"

This link may lead to "Portal Runtime Error" because "contentLayerTool" is port of high_safety zone
To access without runtime error, pls follow the below process.
1. login http://<host>:<port>/irj with admin user
2. concatenate the below line to browser
/servlet/prt/portal/prteventname/HtmlbEvent/prtroot/com.sap.portal.content.layers.ContentLayersTool
3. To enable content admin tab click "Activate Development Mode"

CS3: PDF-Export Transparency Issue when Image-Links are missing

I have a Layout with a transparent Frame on the top most Layer. For this Workflow-Step I do not have access to the original Image-Links, so I guess that all I see are the embedded Preview-Pictures and InDesign reports that all Object-Links are missing.
If I export this Layout as JPG, the resulting JPG looks like the WYSIWYG in InDesign, which is suitable for this workflow-step. However when I export as pdf, the Frame is not transparent anymore. Instead it is filled with white color and covers the rest of the Layout. In Adobe Reader I can actually select the wrongly covered Picture at the border of the frame and copy&paste it somewhere and it looks fine.
When I provide the original Frame-Picture and repair the missing Link in InDesign, PDF-Export works fine.
I have installed & updated InDesign on a new Mac OS X 10.4.11, so all settings should be default.
Transparency Blend Space is set to CMYK. I tried all default PDF-Export Profiles and tried a lot of different settings in the pdf-export dialogue including different PDF-File-Versions, Simulate Overprint on/off, Color-Conversion disabled, disabling Picture-Compression and much more. I also tried to Print a PS-File and then use the Distiller: same result.
I use Adobe InDesign CS3 V 5.0.2 and tried Adobe Reader 8.1.2 and Adobe Acrobat Pro 8 to display.
Any Ideas?

I've an old file without it's links folder, I was wondering If there was any way to extract low quality images from it to relink them.

@Bernardo – you could export the graphic frame that holds the low res preview to e.g. PNG.
But I would *NOT* re-link them! Place them anew in case someone has geometrically transformed (cropped, rotated, skewed, mirrored) the original ones. Keep in mind that by exporting graphic frames to PNG, fill and stroke properties together with applied effects are exported as well.

Administration link is disabling in planning even though I logged with admin user, when this is occurred I should close the application and need to reconnect again.Why this is happening and what to do to come out from this issue,please help out anybody

QM notification attachment links are missing from table SRGBTBREL

Dear All,
We have problem in our system and the documents(specially QM notifications-QM02 03) are not accessible from the content server only for a specific period (Nov to Dec 2009) due to a missing link in SRGBTBREL (No idea how the entries are deleted).
Now we want to know, how we can establish a new link or restore the missing link in table SRGBTBREL ?
Also if someone can tell how to find the relation between the PHIO_ID and notification number ?
or the relation between Archive object id and notification..if we have this information then we can some standard function module provided by SAP.
or anyone else have any better idea , please share

Thanks for your reply , the given links were quite useful and we got some ideas that what should be the approach.
Approach to resolve the issue -
At this moment we are trying to get the relation between the SOOD , SRGBTBREL, SOFFPHIO tables.
SOFFCONT1 is no more useful for us as the documents are old and have been archived to Content Server.
We have all entries in the SOOD table and also in SOFFPHIO table, but in the SRGBTBREL the links are missing and hence the documents are not visible in SAP.
If somehow we can get the missing link is this table I am quite sure that documents wil be visible and accessible from SAP.
Our main target is to relate SOOD SRGBTBREL and SOFFPHIO and get the PHIO_ID for the mising documents and then we have a functional module which will help to get the data from content server.
As per my current unerstanding this is the relation between the tables
SRGBTBREL-INSTID_B is related to: SOOD-OBJTP,SOOD-OBJYR,SOOD-OBJNO,
Like FOL30000000000003EXT31000000002416
Here
SOOD-OBJTP = EXT
SOOD-OBJYR = 31
SOOD-OBJNO = 000000002416
And This elelement is than linked to table SOFFPHIIO as follows:
SOOD-IF_DOC_BCS = SOFFPHIO-LOIO_ID
In the table SOFFPHIO you can find the PHIO_ID what is linked to
SOFFCONT1 or the Archive Server
I am trying to solve the problem by using the approach mentioned above , still somehow I have some difficulties to get the links between the tables.
Can some one tell if my approach is correct or not ? or suggest with any other simple solution ?

Administration link not displaying on webcenter

Hi,
I have recently installed Oracle UCM and webcenter. Everything is up and running. Webcenter was installed by administrator (default user name - weblogic3) rights. After that no other user was created.
Earlier the user (weblogic3) was able to see the Administration link at the top of the page. In previous few days we have only created spaces and dummy pages onto webcenter server no other admin activities. Now the Administration link is not appearing on the top of the page. Somehow the admin access of user weblogic3 has been revoked and the UI appears for a non-admin user.
Can somebody please suggest what could have caused it ? and how I can get it back ?

Go to Weblogic em and open webcenter spaces home page. From the menu open Security -> Application Roles then in the search form select application stride to search i.e webcenter. Search for the role name administrator and check if your user is there.

Web-center content Administration link

Hi,
Can somebody tell me how to make a normal OID user a admin so that he will be able to see "Administration" link in webcenter content server console (/cs).
The user base is OVD(OID and AD). I have follow the steps where I made a group in OID named as "WC_Admin" and assigned the Admin role within the WebLogic domain security realm to the "WC_admin" as explained in section 15.2.2.2 http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E25178_01/core.1111/e12037/oam.htm#BEJCECIC
The member of group WC_admin not able to see the "Administration" link in webcenter content server console (/cs)...is this default behavior or I need to do something else?

So the assumption was correct as in the role on AD itself is the root cause .
Just because a group is named WC_Admin on AD does not give it admin privileges. If you want to have some users with admin role then create a credential map on UCM and provide this map :
wc_admin , admin
Then add the map name to <domain_home>/ucm/cs/data/providers/jpsuserprovider/provider.hda file :
ProviderCredentialsMap=<CredentialMapName>
Restart the server and then users who are under wc_admin group on AD post-login will be given admin role on ucm and Administration link will be displayed .

Uable to see Administrator link after importing Security Group

Currently our project is using defaultLDAP .
We created the users and groups in weblogic taken the export of the Groups by going into Migration tab in
weblogic console > secuirty rleam > myrelam > migration tab > export --when we click we get set of files in the specified directory .
I cleaned the users and took one more export without users.
Now when I'm applying these security files in some env I'm not getting the Administrator Link and there I'm not able to see the Session log .
Do we need to select something in Provider or Roles and Policies before taking export ?
Can we fix these security files XML by updating the tag values.
Also previously if we login the Presentation url there was no ACT AS option in SIGN IN AS (USER NAME) drop down
Please suggest how to fix this .

Directory Administration link not working

gurus,
i've following environment -
Oracle 9i Database
Oracle 9iAS Portal Release 2
this is what is happening -
1. i log into portal
2. click on "builder" icon
3. cick on "administer" tab
4. click on "Directory Administration" link in Services portlet and i get the following error -
Not Found
The requested URL /pls/portalorasso.wwsso_app_admin.ls_login was not found on this server.
as u can see the requested URL has errors in it :-
it is => /pls/portalorasso.wwsso_app_admin.ls_login
it should be => /pls/orasso/orasso.wwsso_app_admin.ls_login
how can i fix this ...?
has anyone seen this before ...?

Ha! Fixed it!
Directory was set to use Kerberos instead of Password. Changed this back in Directory Prefs now it's all working!

Administration Link

Hi all,
I'm trying to restrict a user's access to a Content Area so that the Administration Link does not show up when the user clicks 'Edit Folder'. Does anyone know if this is possible?

This can be accomplished by modifying the nav bar for the particular content area folder. Go into edit mode for the folder, then click on the edit link for the nav bar to the left. You can remove the administration link.
