Advanced Numbering in Excel 2010

Hello -
We have a large excel spreadsheet with manually entered numbers going down one column and data going across in the rows.  There is a blank line every 5 numbers and the numbers continue in sequence after the blank line. We would like to move a column
and keep the number sequence.  So for example, I have columns 1 - 5 then a blank and then columns 6 - 10.  I would like to move column 4 to just above column 9 and have excel readjust the numbering so that column 4 becomes column 9 and column
9 becomes column 10.  Is this possible in Excel?  I know it's possible in Word but I am not sure in Excel.  NOTE: I have already attempted filtering and utilizing the COUNT function - neither works for this scenario.
Thanks!

Your use of rows and columns seems a bit confused. For example, I am guessing that everywhere you used the word column in this statement you actually mean row
<We would like to move a column and keep the number sequence.  So for example,
I have columns 1 - 5 then a blank and then columns 6 - 10.  I would like to move column 4 to just above column 9 and have excel readjust the numbering so that column 4 becomes column 9 and column 9 becomes column 10. >
If that is the case, you can use a helper column of number for the sort. For example,
insert a new column B,  and then enter
1
2
3
8.5
5
6
7
8
9
10
And sort the first 10 rows - except for column A - based on the values in column B ascending, then delete column B.
If I have interpreted this incorrectly, you could upload a workbook online and post the link here. Show two sheets - before and after.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
    The first Mac with Thunderbolt was the Early 2011 MacBook Pro. If you have got a 2010 MacBook Pro, you have got Mini DisplayPort instead of Thunderbolt, which are the same, but Mini DisplayPort can't be used to connect external disks.
    To check which MacBook Pro you have, open  > About this Mac > More Info, and you will see the MacBook Pro model. If it's Mid 2010 or older, you haven't got Thunderbolt, so you have to connect the external drive through USB

  • Excel 2010 Row numbers disappearing

    Question: Bit of an odd one here.
    Running Excel 2010 on a WinXP Sp3 box. Issue is only affecting one user and one of his spreadsheets. Sporatically, the actual numbers within the row identifier boxes vanishes, along with the data in the affected rows. The rows are still there, and the rows
    above and below are still numbered in the same sequencial order as if the affected rows were still numbered. If we do not notice this before saving spreadsheet, data is lost. If we unhide all cells, the numbers come back, as does the data. The odd thing is,
    as I said, the rows are NOT actually hidden, only the row identifier numbers and the data are gone.
    Please help! Critical order tracking sheet.

    Using  Windows 7 Professional ver 6.1 (Build 7601 : Service Pack 1) and Excel version 14.0.6112.5000 (32 bit)
    A large spreadsheet some 8MB and formatted as an xls file.
    I experienced a similar problem  with some  row  numbers and data missing together with some rows being expanded to a height of  550 pixels.
    Highlighting the whole row and automatically resetting the height (double clicking bottom edge ) sometimes resets the height, row numbers and data.
    Strangely highlighting the row and clicking the bold button also resets the the height, row numbers and data.
    Unfortunately these remedy’s do not persist after saving the file and reopening it.
    If I resave the "corrupted" xls version  as a Macro-Enabled Worksheet .xlsm file all of the issues above disappear.
    I hope this helps some one

  • Excel 2010 - Userform - VBA How to stop 'Job No' from duplicating itself on next empty row

    Hi there
    Thank you in advance for taking the time to check this out.
    Objective:
    To prevent duplication of incident numbers in the datasheet, and format the job number with a prefix of
    Inc- at the beginning. I currently have the cell customization set to “Inc”General but that only inserts the prefix in the cells on the datasheet, but is not showing in the disabled textbox in the userform.
    The Problem
    I have a ‘Job Number’ that is generated each time the form is opened and when the ‘Save’ button is clicked the data from the form is transferred over
    The job number is generated from the previous entry +1 (auto incrementing the old fashioned way).
    The problem arises when the ‘Save’ button is pressed repeatedly, the same job number and data is duplicated on the datasheet.
    Is there some way to ensure that the number generated is unique, and if the ‘Save’ button is repeatedly pressed that it will just over-ride the existing information?
    The number format currently used is 20150003 (incremented by 1). But what I’d like to be displayed in the form is
    Inc- 20150003
    The following code is in the form_initialize procedure.
    Me.txtSEC_INC_No.Enabled = True
    Dim irow As Long
    Dim ws As ws_Incident_Details
    Set ws = ws_Incident_Details
    'find last data row from database'
    irow = ws.Cells(Rows.Count, 1) _
    .End(xlUp).Row
    If ws.[a2].Value = "" Then
    Me.txtSEC_INC_No.Text = 0 ' If no value in Col A, it will return a 0
    Else
    Me.txtSEC_INC_No.Text = ws.Cells(irow, 1).Value + 1
    End If
    I’d be really grateful if someone could help me out, or perhaps direct me to where I might find some coding that will achieve the result I am seeking.
    I have just uploaded the latest version
    My Sample form is linked to my Dropbox so you can see how it currently works (or doesn't work)
    With much gratitude,
    TheShyButterfly
    Hope you have a terrific day, theShyButterfly

    I am striving to improve my VBA but ... I am far from anywhere near in understanding the code that you have in your file. I feel really bad in saying that, but I am not a pretender, and will acknowledge when I am over my head.
    I was thinking "simplified" :) ...
    Don't worry, also Rom wasn't build in a day. :-)
    I already answered the question about the duplication of the Job number in this thread:
    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/de-DE/52f3c62f-b26e-4573-b7c2-8e7203786d7f/excel-2010-vba-userforms-vlookup-via-textbox-display-result-in-another-textbox?forum=exceldev
    So let us talk a little about the TAG property, thinking "simplified" and how to save the data:
    Most people start with code like this when they start there first Userform:
    Cells(MyRowNumber, 1) = txtBoxA
    Cells(MyRowNumber, 2) = txtBoxB
    etc. many many lines till
    Cells(MyRowNumber, 56) = txtBoxWhatEver
    And then, after Version 1.0, they realize that they also want to load data from a row into the form. And they copy all the lines and exchange
    the parts before and after the
    "=" like this:
    txtBoxA = Cells(MyRowNumber, 1)
    txtBoxB = Cells(MyRowNumber, 2)
    etc. many many lines till
    txtBoxWhatEver = Cells(MyRowNumber, 56)
    And maybe you have another 56 lines to "clear" the Userform, and maybe more lines... over 150 lines just for this... that is really tremendous.
    I will not be
    too harsh,
    if it works, then
    it's okay.
    But often many people struggle when they look into the code because, which column in the sheet is written by this line?
      Cells(MyRowNumber, 56) = txtBoxWhatEver
    I've often seen that people change the code to this:
      Range("A" & MyRowNumber) = txtBoxA
      Range("B" & MyRowNumber) = txtBoxB
    etc.  till
      Range("BD" & MyRowNumber) = txtBoxWhatEver
    which is more clearly, but you must revise
    150 lines!
    And that is the point for the TAG property, which is in fact just a string. So when we write the column name ("A", "B", etc.) into the TAG property of a control, you can change the code to this:
      Range(txtBoxA.Tag & MyRowNumber) = txtBoxA
      Range(txtBoxB.Tag & MyRowNumber) = txtBoxB
    etc.
    And now the 1st trick, we can use a loop and visit all controls at once:
      Dim C As MSForms.Control
      For Each C In Me.Controls
        If C.Tag <> "" Then
          Range(C.Tag & MyRowNumber) = C
        End If
      Next
    And when we want to load data from a row into the form, it's the same, just the other direction:
      Dim C As MSForms.Control
      For Each C In Me.Controls
        If C.Tag <> "" Then
          C = Range(C.Tag & MyRowNumber)
        End If
      Next
    And to clear the form is also the same:
      Dim C As MSForms.Control
      For Each C In Me.Controls
        If C.Tag <> "" Then
          C = ""
        End If
      Next
    So we can remove over 150 lines and do the same with just the 18 lines above.
    Isn't that a simplification?
    Think about that for a while.
    Ready for the next trick? ;-)
    As the TAG property is readable and writeable we can use Sub UserForm_Initialize and save a lot of manual work:
    Private Sub UserForm_Initialize()
      Me.txtBoxA.Tag = "A"
      Me.txtBoxB.Tag = "B"
      'etc. till
      Me.txtBoxWhatEver.Tag = "BD"
    End Sub
    No time to waste,
    here comes the next one. ;-)
    In your file, you can have named ranges, but always have headings! And so we can get the column name e.g. from a named range:
      Me.txtBoxWhatEver.Tag = GetColumnName(Range("WhatEver"))
    Function GetColumnName(ByVal R As Range) As String
    Dim S As String
    S = R.Address(1, 0)
    GetColumnName = Left(S, InStr(S, "$") - 1)
    End Function
    Or you can use Range.Find and search for the header int the sheet and get the column name directly.
    The benefit is that your form works even when the user change the layout of the sheet!
    Simple
    as it gets
    (almost).
    Andreas.

  • Thousand separator in MS Excel 2010

    I recently upgraded to Microsoft Excel 2010 and I am having an issue in the formatting of my numbers. The thousands separator (comma in my country) is only being applied to the last thousand bucket but all other thousands above that are not being separated.

  • Excel 2010 Multicore capabilities

    I bought Office 2010 x64 bit especially to get Excel 2010 as the advertisments stated it was supposed to be able to handle large data sets more effectively. However processing large data sets it is struggling a lot more than the BETA (x32) version was (I
    realise x64 bit does not imply it is multicore). In some cases it takes hours to simply delete large numbers of merged cells.
    Looking at my task manager whilst it is performing these tasks and it appears Excel is only using 25% of my Quad processor i.e. 1 core. I spoke to Microsofts incredibly frustrating customer 'care' centre in India and was read an extract from the microsofts
    website that stated it does use multicore processors (not useful in the slightest). However after numerous follow up calls and having a member of staff remotly control my pc he told me that it only ustilises multicores when opening and closing documents. It
    cannot utilise all the cores for data manipulation.
    Can anyone confirm that this is the case? There is another thread on this forum 'multicore multithread processor compatibility' which states Office 2010 can utilise all the cores available. However if it is only in opening and closing documents then I feel
    Microsofts claims are somewhat misleading.

    Hello,
    Office 2010 x64 talks to overcoming memory limitations rather than changing the way it interacts with the processor.  Check out these 2 links along with the discussions that follow:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/excel/archive/2009/08/28/excel-2010-now-with-more-bits.aspx
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/office2010/archive/2010/02/23/understanding-64-bit-office.aspx
    You can play around with the processor settings in Advanced Options to see if it improves the processing performance.

  • Unable to read data in Excel 2010/2013 from encrypted Access 2010/2013 database

    A customer has an Access database (.accdb), which was encrypted/given a database password in Access 2013. It should be possible to read that data from Excel 2010/2013, but when clicking on Data-->From Access
    and the correct path is put in and the correct database password has been entered, Excel just keeps prompting for the database password. This happens with both Excel 2010 and 2013.
    The database password supplied is correct as evidenced by opening the database in Access 2013 using the same database password.
    A colleague in a separate company has found that a separate .accdb file he has recently encrypted also has the same problem as above, yet a .accdb file encrypted ages ago
    is readable from Excel.
    How do I get Excel 2010/2013 to read the data from the encrypted .accdb file, please?

    Since Access 2010 the encryption algorithm has changed:
    Source
    Follow the next steps to apply an encryption method that will allow you to (programmatically) connect to the database:
    1. Decrypt the database
    2. Change the encryption method:
        - In Access Options select 'Client Settings'
        - Scroll down to section 'Advanced'
        - 'Encryption Method': select option 'Use legacy encryption (..'
        - Click 'OK'
    3. Encrypt the database
    Hope this helps.

  • Trying to connect Excel 2010 to Oracle

    Hello,
    I am trying to connect Excel 2010 directly to the Oracle database at work. I was hoping to combine VBA and SQL to automate queries without having to use SQL Developer or the bespoke enterprise software to then export the data into a spreadsheet. I have downloaded the ODBC driver and installed it onto my PC. I have tried to configure the connection and the tnsnames.ora file but it will not connect (I can get the exact error from work tomorrow).
    I have an XML file that contains all of the connection details (such as the ports, passwords and the server name) for the databases that I need to access. There isn’t anyone who can help me at work as the former IT manager has left and my current manager has very little technical knowledge.
    The network is managed by a different part of the business at an external site containing all of the servers. Although I have an administrator account, it is very restricted so I cannot use the command prompt but I can install software.
    I would be grateful for any advice. If it helps the operating system I am using is Windows Vista 32-Bit. I am unsure which version of Oracle we are using (it might be 10g but is there anything I could type into SQL Developer that would display the version of Oracle I am using?).
    Many thanks in advance and sorry for probably not explaining things very well,
    Matt

    I think I am going to give in with ODBC for the time being and I don’t want to waste any of your time.
    Just to make everything clear in case I missed something important out:
    I ran the select banner from v$version statement and retreived:
    Oracle Database 10g Release 10.2.0.5.0 - 64bit Production
    PL/SQL Release 10.2.0.5.0 - Production
    "CORE 10.2.0.5.0 Production"
    TNS for 64-bit Windows: Version 10.2.0.5.0 - Production
    NLSRTL Version 10.2.0.5.0 - Production
    I originally installed the latest version of 11g ODBC and reinstalled it as I didn't think it was working. I then installed 10g version today but I couldn't find ODBC.exe file like I could in the 11g version.
    I can't get the tnsnames.ora file off the database server as I can't connect to it. I know the server name but I think I may be restricted from accessing it as the network and user accounts are really locked down. I read somewhere when I was searching that there was a way of generating the tnsnames.ora file which would be quite useful as there wouldn't be any mistakes.
    Like I have mentioned before I can’t access the command prompt and the only way I can connect to the database is through SQL Developer (which I have all the connections for in an XML file).
    I tried the ADO method and it didn't work, but after getting home and trying something I know how to resolve the ActiveX Objects related error I was getting, so maybe I could get this method to work.
    It is just frustrating that I know this could work but things aren’t as simple as I thought although the advice I have received has been really useful. Thanks for all the help.

  • Excel 2010 changes relative link paths to absolute in files synced with Offline Files in Windows 7

    Hello! I'm wondering if anyone else has seen this problem: I have a large number of Excel 2010 and 2003 files in a folder on my file server. This whole folder is also synced to my computer using Offline Files in Windows 7. I have a lot of references between
    cells in different Excel files, and all referenced workbooks are physically in the same folder. This all works nicely when I create these files at work - all file paths referenced in the cells are created as relative paths and the documents open correctly.
    This is, I understand, the expected and default behavior when Excel creates links. When I edit these files at home, nothing seems odd until I get back to work and sync these files back to the file server. At this point, I discovered that Excel 2010 has, when
    I saved the files while away from the corporate network, changed /all/ the cell references in any offline-edited Excel files to point at absolute paths, and that these absolute paths point to somewhere in my %APPDATA% structure. So whenever I come to work
    and I try to open an Excel file that I have recently worked with offline, I get a bunch of error messages about referenced files that are missing, although clearly they exist in the same folder as the file I've opened, and I must edit all the file references
    again, whereupon they are again created correctly as relative paths (since all files exist in the same folder), which are promptly mangled into absolute C:\....\Offline Files\.....\..... paths whenever I save them at home (and since that works too, I don't
    notice it again until I come back to work and the offline files are synced back to the real network location). This seems to be a case of Windows 7's Offline Files not being able to fool Excel 2010 into believing it is working on a file server - apparently
    Excel 2010 can see through the fakery and decides on it's own to "fix" the problem (which obviously isn't a problem since the paths are relative to begin with) by saving the paths as absolute paths instead. Yes, really clever, Excel. The exepected behavior
    according to MSKB is that links are created as relative paths, so why does it change to absolute whenever Offline Files are involved? I know Offline Files only syncs, it doesn't actually change the files, so I can conclude that Excel is the program at fault
    here. Is there a fix for this, or a known workaround? Because frankly, this bug makes it impossible for me to work in any advanced manner with linked Excel files. The sad thing is that this worked perfectly fine with Office 2003 and Windows XP. Is there a
    patch for this problem that I might have missed (I am running the latest Service Pack and I get Office updates from Microsoft Update). If not, is there a workaround I can use to prevent Excel from corrupting my links when I edit the files offline?

    Hello danceswithwindows,

  • How to reserve the page size when exporting to MS Excel 2010

    Hello. I have a report which exports to MS Excel 2010. I applied the page size as legal in Crystal Report and would like to use the same page size in Excel
    However, MS Excel print preview says the page size is letter.
    How could I keep the same page size in Excel as I applied in Crystal Report. We have a lot of business reports and would like to avoid applying page setting manually in Excel when users print them out each time.
    Thank you.

    Hi Christine
    I am in the process of writing a doc on the different options in CR and the "No Printer" option sis one of those. Seeing this post, made me wonder as this looked like a questionable behavior. My testing does not support your observations. Now, I did a very simple test;
    Created a report, set "No Printer", set the paper size and legal orientation. Exported to XLS - any format, and the export maintained legal paper size in all instance. I did a few other variations, but I can never get the report to export anything other than Landscape.
    Can you  please let me know the version of CR you are using?
    You may also want to attach the report here with saved data (to attach rename the rpt to txt, then in the reply hit on the "Use advanced editor" link and attach.
    BTW.; I am using CR 2013.

  • 32-bit...64-bit...Excel 2007...Excel 2010...nonetheless a .xlsx File

    My head is spinning...soooooo here's the deal...
    The client provides us a .xlsx File. Now I have no idea how this is created and saved...via Excel 2007...Excel 2010
    When I attempt sourcing the .xlsx File in my SSIS Package I get the error "External Table is not in the expected format"
    Sooooo, I figure I'd write a C# Edit Script to read .xlsx File and Save it as a .xls file using the following syntax...
    string StrFileName = (Dts.Variables["User::FileName"].Value.ToString());
    StrFileName = Path.GetFileNameWithoutExtension(StrFileName);
    string StringSourceFile = (Dts.Variables["User::FilePath"].Value.ToString()) + StrFileName + ".xlsx";
    string StringDestinationFile = (Dts.Variables["User::FilePath"].Value.ToString()) + StrFileName + ".xls";
    // This initiates the Excel Application
    Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.Application excelApplication = new Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.Application();
    // This Opens the Source .xlsx File from Emdeon ePaySmart
    Workbook workbook = excelApplication.Workbooks.Open(StringSourceFile, XlUpdateLinks.xlUpdateLinksNever, true, Type.Missing, Type.Missing, Type.Missing, Type.Missing, Type.Missing, Type.Missing, Type.Missing, Type.Missing, Type.Missing, Type.Missing, Type.Missing, Type.Missing);
    // This will Save the Source .xlsx Emdeon ePaySmart File as a .xls File...note xlFileFormat.xlExcel5
    workbook.SaveAs(StringDestinationFile, XlFileFormat.xlExcel8, Type.Missing, Type.Missing, Type.Missing, Type.Missing, XlSaveAsAccessMode.xlExclusive, Type.Missing, Type.Missing, Type.Missing, Type.Missing, Type.Missing);
    // This will Close the Source
    workbook.Close(false, Type.Missing, Type.Missing);
    // This shuts down the Excel Application
    excelApplication.Quit();
    Note xlFileFormat.xlExcel8
    Now this worked PERFECTLY client side. Then when I created a SQL Server Agent Job it blew up and from what I read the SQL Server Agent Job does not like running dynamic Excel commands.
    Soooooooo now I'm back at the drawing board and figured I'd use OLE DB to source the file.
    I am using this Connection String for the .xlsx File
    string StringConnection = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=" + sourceFile + ";Extended Properties=\"Excel 8.0;HDR=Yes;IMEX=1\"";
    Now I understand that the OLEDB.4.0 Connection string is incorrect for a .xlsx File. (Which is why I probably tried to do this with dynamic Excel commands to begin with)
    Now comes the chicken and the egg problem...
    If instead I try using the OLEDB.12.0 Connection String it tells me it isn't installed
    My network, copied Microsoft Office 2010 installed is 32-bit
    So if I try to install the 64-bit Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 it tells me I have to Uninstall Microsoft Office 2010. Well that is not possible
    So my question is this...How in God's name can I try and process this .xlsx File??? I am at a complete loss here.
    I did come upon this Posting previously...in italics below but it fell short in terms of providing a solution.
    Can anyone please help me out here?
    Thanks in advance for your review and am hopeful for a reply.
    ITBobbyP85
    When I create my connection manager to connect to a .xlsx file, I get the error message that says:
    "Test connection failed because of an error in initializing provider. External table is not in the expected format."
    The provider selected was the ole db "Microsoft office 12.0 Access Database Engine...", and in the All tab I entered "Excel
    12.0" at the top where it says Extended properties.
    Here is the stumper:
    My import package(s) has (have) been running manually for the last 2-3 weeks, but now i've finished an automated system that downloads
    the files from the ftp site, unzips them, validates all the expected files are there, renames and relocates the files to the names/locations expected by my ETL, and then runs the ETL.
    I found out today that the people who manually did this process were each time opening the file and then saving it to the correct location
    in Excel 2007.
    When I try to run my ETL on the files in the automated process, it fails with the above error. If, however, I just open the file and
    save it (also in 2007), it runs fine. I have been trying to figure out what saving the file is doing to change it to be in the expected format.
    I have tried to use an excel 2003 connection to connect to a copy of the file with a modified extension of .xls and that didn't work.
    (in case it was in another version of excel and someone just changed the ext)
    I then tried to access the file with the OLE DB provider, as above, but instead of entering 12.0 on the Extended properties line, entering
    9.0 or 14.0 in turn (creating new sources/connections each time), and when I do that, both times I get an error that says:
    “Test connection failed because of an error in initializing provider. Could not find installable ISAM.”
    Am I missing something? Is there something else that simply opening and saving the file might be doing to make it paletable to ssis?
    If we install excel on the db server I realize i could probably open it up and save it as excel 2007 and that would do the trick, but
    the dba is resistant to this idea, so I thought I'd see if anyone has any other ideas?
    If we do have to install excel on that server, does the version have to be excel 2007 in order to programmatically save it as type 2007?
    thanks in advance for your thoughts on the issue...

    You just need to install the latest ACE OLEDB (JET) provider, then when you set the package to run use a proxy with proper rights to access the Excel file on the file system.

  • Calling DDE from Excel 2010 crashing on Win 8.1 VM

    Trying to use DDE to connect Excel to an external application (Vensim DSS) on a windows 8.1 virtual machine (VM) which seems to hang Excel (specifically when you call DDEInitiate). I have no problems with the same VBA script (code reproduced below if needed)
    on a standard PC with windows 8.1 and Vensim DSS. Also a previous incarnation with windows 7 VM and Vensim worked with no problem. Does anybody have ideas what is different on a win 8.1 VM or some process that I need to ensure is running on the VM for DDE
    to work?
    I have tried with Excel 2003, Excel 2007 and Excel 2010 and all experience the same issue of hanging when calling the DDEInitiate function.
    Many thanks in advance,
    Dave

    Hi,
    As far as I know, the DDE is a very old technology, I recommend we try to use the Access object model instead of DDE.

  • Connecting Excel 2010 64 bit on Windows 7 64 bit to Oracle 11gR2 on Linux

    Using:

    Oracle instant client 11.2.0.1 64 bit
    connecting to Oracle 11gR2 64 bit on Linux 5.8 64 bit

    In Excel 2010, I go to Data ribbon, From Data Connection Wizard

    I then choose Other/Advanced, and then Oracle Provider for OLE DB.

    I click next and then put in the data source, user name and password and click test, and it fails with Micosoft Data Link Error. http://i.imgur.com/zuv41.png
    Do you know what I'm doing wrong?

    12154 means the client couldn't resolve what you filled in for Data Source. What did you fill in for Data Source when configuring the OLEDB connection? It looks like "nitro" should be the correct thing to fill in, based on your statement that the ODBC DSN you configured works with it.

  • "Unable to read file" error in Excel 2010 when downloading .xls file from IE11

    We have lots of reports that have links for our users to be able to download report results in Excel format. We accomplish this by using the Excel mime type in our .asp pages. Sporadically, we are seeing "Unable to read file" errors in Excel 2010
    after choosing Open from the IE11 save dialog. Choosing Save/Save As and the file will open just fine.
    Also, we can sometimes cause the error to occur more frequently by switching windows during the time when the file is downloading.
    If the file is opened directly from /Temporary Internet Files then it opens just fine.
    Window 7 64-bit
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
    I found you replied in a similar thread, did you try the workaround (Reset the IE) that provided there? Did you change a browser to test?
    Then, I suggest we use Process Monitor to do further troubleshooting. Please collect all the actions of IE.exe and Excel.exe, and check the if there are some
    error message/code during you open XLS file from IE 11.
    Hope it's helpful.
