af:panelGroup -- undefined object?

Hi,
Using ADF, I created a JSF jsp page that has three textboxes and two buttons-resetButton and submitButton. Trying to write some JavaScript code to make the resetButton work (clear the contents of all 3 textboxes). I was able to obtain the documet and form objects. But when I asked for panelGroup object, it returned me a undefined object, which means I cannot keep on tracking down to panelForm and inputText textboxes to reset their contents.
Does anybody know how to solve it? Thanks.
Annie

Thank you very much for your reply. I appreciate it.
I have been working on the Web Developer extension after reading your email. It is totally new to me and I am so happy to know that there is a powerful tool that can do so much for me.
I downloaded "Internet Explorer Developer Toolbar" for IE. Opened my query page with "view DOM". In order to track down the compoent I want, I gave every component on the way an id. But I still won't be able to access underneath the first form. I was trying to type the source code here, but the format is so messy. Just delete it. Well, the tree is like this, form id=form1----div id=form1:queryPage----div id=form1:header----table id=form1:targetForm----tbody id=tbody1----tr id=tr1----td id=td1----table class=xs id=inndertable---- tbody id=tbody2----tr id=form1:ke__xc_----td id=td2----input class=x6 id=form1:ke
My javascript is:
alert(document.form1.form1:queryPage.id)
I am sorry I could figure out how to copy it from the developer toolbar, so I typed. Hopefully you can get an idea how it looks. If I use "document.form1.id" it will return me "form1". But nothing underneath form1 can be accessed. Any help?

  • Snapshot "UNDEFINED" object invalid

    Here's what I'm doing:
    create snapshot TEST as select * from TEST@TEST_MASTER;
    This creates two objects of name TEST - a table and an object of type "UNDEFINED".
    Now, here's the problem:
    The status of the "UNDEFINED" object will change to "INVALID" anytime I do a refresh. The refresh succeeds, all of the data is moved over and everything appears great, except that the status is "INVALID". I can recompile the snapshot and the status remains "VALID" until I do another refresh at which time the status changes back to "INVALID".
    I have searched every book I can find, as well as this site, and news to get more information on the "UNDEFINED" object, but can't find anything. If anyone has a suggestion, I'd be very appreciative.
    Cheers,
    Scott

    This is an Oracle 8i bug that is fixed in Oracle 9i. Actually, I believe it is two bugs. The Materialized View showing up as UNDEFINED has to do with a bad view in the data dictionary. I believe a object of type '28' isn't getting decoded properly. The materialized view being 'INVALID' shouldn't be an issue. If you would like to fix this grant 'query rewrite' and 'global query rewrite' to the owner of the materialized view. Then do a 'alter materialized view <view_name> compile' to put it back in a VALID state. The bug related to this has to do with not being able to pick up these grants view a ROLE (DBA in most cases).

  • Extendscript (JS): How to guard undefined object properties?

    Just picked up this Extendscript for a quick utility function. I can't seem to use any of the "usual" Javascript logic contstructs to test for undefined object properties.
    Example:
    typeof(app.activeDocument) === "undefined"
    This is an *error* in Extendscript (Error 1302: No such element). I don't believe it should be, but if I'm supposed to do something different in Extendscript I am all ears.
    Thank you
    Edit: Now posted to the correct forum.

    You could fix up something like:
    var nicer_obj = function (obj) {
        var new_obj = {}
        for (key in obj) {
            if (obj.hasOwnProperty(key)) {
                try { new_obj[key] = obj[key]; } catch (err) {}
        return new_obj;
    typeof nicer_obj(app).activeDocument; // 'undefined' or 'object'
    For what it’s worth, I also think it’s really stupid and annoying that the built-in objects don’t behave at all like you’d expect typical ECMAScript objects to behave. Browsers used to have similar quirks (which is why everyone just uses jQuery), but many of those have been worked out by now.

  • Exporting for Dreamweaver - undefined object?

    When I attempt to export my document (just text, no images) I get this error message: "undefined is not an object." I have no idea what it means. There are no errors showing in the document and no links at all, so that not the problem.
    Any ideas?

    No images. There are some tables made in CS3 and some footnotes. I wanted to use just about 10 pages from a larger document, so I made a copy and deleted all but the 10. I noticed that in this reduced document there were the prior master pages carried over, so I selected all the pages and applied the "none" master to them. It leaves one other master page I cannot delete. All I can think of that is different.

  • ConversionException on [undefined] object

    Hey there,
    I am using Toplink 10g (9.0.4.2). DB is Oracle8i. I am working on an existing project. I have a new EJB with a String primary key, a boolean field and 3 other String data fields. When I map this class in toplink workbench as an EJB descriptor I get the most weirdest error from ejbc thrown by toplink.
    This is how it looks -
    [java] Exception [TOPLINK-14016] (OracleAS TopLink - 10g (9.0.4) (Build 031126)): oracle.toplink.ejb.DeploymentException
    [java] Exception Description: An error occurred while setting up the project: [Exception [TOPLINK-3001] (OracleAS TopLink - 10g (9.0.4) (Build 031126)): oracle.toplink.exceptions.ConversionException

    [java] Internal Exception: Exception [TOPLINK-3001] (OracleAS TopLink - 10g (9.0.4) (Build 031126)): oracle.toplink.exceptions.ConversionException
    [java] Exception Description: The object [undefined], of class [class java.lang.String], could not be converted to [class java.lang.Boolean].
    I cant figure out what is it trying to convert. If I remove the class from workbench, it compiles fine. But it complains even if you just add the class to the project and the entire class unmapped. I have no clue where to look since the compiler is so helpful.
    Would someone be kind enough to guide me on what could be going wrong?
    TIA!

    I get this error during compilation. ejbc (weblogic81) throws this error

  • Adobe Bridge CS6 undefined in not an object Help Please

    I am so sick and tired of getting this error message when I try to create a pdf contact sheet - undefined is not an object.  Can someone help me?
    What frustrates me the is there is no log file telling me what image has the problem which Bridge does not like.
    This example is of brand new eps files that were created in the last month
    I also have the same undefined object is not an object using AI files but none are shown in this example.
    If there is no solution to tell me what eps or ai file(s) bridge does not like - is there a setting I can change so Bridge skips the file it does not like?  Sorta silly skipping a file for a contact sheet but if that is a workaround to make it bridge work that would be a huge improvement versus the program not working at all, LOL...
    1. I have tried using another program to rename all my files to be sequential numbers too, so that is taking more time and I am losing the ability to find my files by name and I still get the undefined is not an object.
    2. I am to the point of using other programs to create jpeg images of AI and EPS files and then using bridge to make contact sheets and doing that takes a ton more time and is just silly to do so now I am to the point of asking for help.
    3. Operating system is Wondows 7 - I use CS6 - Adobe Bridge for making contact sheets - screen shoot is attached - all CS6 items are up to date with updates.
    4. Yes, I have searched the internet for help and searched adobe for help --- seems like no one has posted a solution.

    I am having this same issue. I'm attempting to make a pdf in Bridge but am getting the error message "undefined is not an object." A log or a report of some kind would be very useful here to find out which object is the offender. Looking at my files they appear to be in order but obviously something is amiss....

    hi,
    i badly need help in embedding my swf in html , because it keeps saying that my object is undefined.
    object undefined error.
    i am trying to pass values from js to actionscript and then i embedded it.
    i tried to embed it using embed and object tags only, but the javascript functions are not working.
    It keeps saying that object is expected.

  • Create 'Object Style' by script

    Hi,
    My 'Library.indl' file has the 'Box1', 'Box2'. I need to create the object style(with dummy properties) based on the Library file names.
    If the library has BOX1, BOX2, I need to check my Indesign file has Object Style with the same name(BOX1, BOX2).
    If object style not presented in that particular name(BOX1, BOX2) in Indesign, I have to create the dummy Object style. (The 'object style name' should match with BOX1, BOX2.)
    Is this possible by Indesign script?

    Hi Chinna,
    When I click 'hyphenation setting' on, I have the problems on line 54 and 55.
    If I select line 55(line 54 is deselect). script working fine.
    If I select line 54(line 55 is deselect) script is not working, but I want to select library file from the folder path, so I need line 54 action.
    Correct my script here:

  • EPCM is undefined

    Hello,
    after Login to the SAP Netweaver Portal I receive at the following page the script-error "EPCM is undefined". I don't get the full navigation because of this script-error.
    This problem is only at one PC, at all other it works fine. All settings are same to other PCs.
    Please help me.
    Regards
    Philipp

    Hi Philipp
    Did you find a solution? I have a similar problem - the portal (EP7 SP13) works fine for most users, but one user gets javascript errors (EPCM is undefined, object required) and cannot display most of the portal screen. He has the same IE version (IE6 SP2) and settings (default "Low" in security zones) as other users. I have added *.js to NeverCompress and restarted, but still it does not work for him.
    Any ideas?
    Many thanks & regards
    Jane

  • Manipulation event - repositioning object

    Hi,
    I am working on an app where I draw several objects. I detect a mouse click on one of them using ManipulationStarted, move the object using ManipulationDelta. It all works well, except that the selected object is not drawn on top of the other objects.
    So when it is moved across the screen, it can move underneath another object. Before I used the Manipulation event, I solved this by removing the object from the canvas and then redrawing it so that it would move over all other objects, on top of them. If
    I try this in ManipulationStarted, ManipulationDelta does not work.
    I am unable to find a way around this - assistance would be much appreciated.
    Thanks and regards,
    Lynn

    If it's on a canvas, you should increase it's z-index so it's on top of everything else.

    NOTE: If I ask for code, please provide something that I can drop directly into a project and run (including XAML), or an actual application project. I'm trying to help a lot of people, so I don't have time to figure out weird snippets with undefined
    objects and unknown namespaces.

  • Why is my flash content not working on my dreamweaver created html site?

    This is a problem that's happening on my website I'm creating.  I created a quick test website to show you the problem on the fourm.  It's the same problem, and if you can provide the solution to this test website I can apply it to my main website.
    Test website on server:
    test331754952.net23.net
    What I did:
    -launched flash
    -typed "test" and made it spin 360 degrees
    -published swf
    -launched dreamweaver
    -created a site
    -moved swf to site folder
    -saved a html file to the site folder
    -in dreamweaver, went to insert, media, swf, then selected the swf I made
    -it inserted the swf, creating a gray placeholder for it
    -re-saved the html document, at which point dreamweaver created a folder named script and 2 files, an swf, and a javascript file
    Site Directory:
    Scripts Sub-Directory:
    What happens:
    -when I launch the swf on my machine, it plays fine
    -when I open the swf directly on the test website on the server, it plays fine
    -when I open the html with the embended swf on the test website on the server, it shows a gray box, then goes white
    -In dreamweaver, when I go to preview in browser and choose internet explorer, it tells me I don't have new flashplayer(I do: flashplayer 11)
    Ie also pokes up a box at the bottom that says its not allowing content.  When I click allow content, it creates a gray box
    -In dreamweaver, when I go to preview in borwser and choose google chrome, it tells me flash player has stopped a potentionally unsafe operation.  When I close this dialog box, it gives me a gray box where my swf should be embeded.
    -I've tried changing global flash secuirty setting and it does nothing
    -I've tried visiting the test website on multiple computers in my household to no avail
    -I've tried having friends visit the site on their computer at their house to no avail
    -I did't touch the code on this test website-the code is exactly what dreamweaver generated

    Can someone please help!  I've looked and tried prety much everything.  If you can provide a solution I would GREATLY apreciate it!

    There is no Flash player version 15... as in your code:
    <param name="swfversion" value="15.0.0.0" />
    For some reason Adobe thought it would be a good idea to target a Flash player version (15) as default.....which may be out a couple years in the future. Go figure!!!
    If you don't like player version 9, change to 10 or 11.... just not 15 (yet).
    Best wishes,

  • How to create a VPN client for Windows Phone 8.1?

    We have our own VPN client for Windows and Android. I would like to create a VPN client  for Windows phone 8.1. After referring these site I found that there are some third
    party VPN plugins available for WP 8.1.
    I checked OpenVPN but it is also not available for WP 8.1.
    Is there any APIs available for creating a VPN client in WP 8.1 similar to
    VpnService provided by Android SDK ?

    The VPN APIs for WP8.1 are not open at this time.
