AF Query: Criteria fields disappearing but result set not refreshed

I have been searching for days and cannot find a solution to this problem. I have an af:query component based on a view criteria. I have the query component only displayed as an advanced search without the basic/advanced toggle. A user can then use "Add Fields" and filter down their result set. Now whenever the user navigates away from that page and returns the filtered result set remains, but the list of fields that the user added to filter on are missing, i.e.
Search Box
Field1 is not blank
Navigate away and return
Search Box
blank; nothing listed here, but result set is still filtered for Field1 not blank.
The only thing the customer can do is add a bogus field, and then click reset to return the entire result set.
If anyone can help with this problem, I would greatly appreciate it. I am using:
JDeveloper 11.1.1.4
Oracle 11g
Weblogic 10.3
Thanks,
Michelle

Actually, in researching another problem, I think this is either a problem with jheadstart or with .jsff pages. I created a test case for a different problem that I posted to metalink and in this I did not use jheadstart and I used just a single .jspx page with a panel tabbed layout. The problem does not occur here, so one of the 2 is causing my problem, now the question is which.
Thanks for your help,
Michelle

  • How to Colour the fields in the Result Set of the query

    Hi all,
    I am having a requirement wher the user want to view the queries results with some colour to the char in the result set.
    suppose customer is the row he want to view some customers with one color and some with different color.
    Is it possible in Bi.
    If so Plz let me know
    Regards

    Hi Priya,
    for the macro thing, you will have to create a workbook and store your query into it, because macros are attached to only workbooks and not queries.
    in the workbook screen (i.e. excel), go to tools --> Macro --> Visual Basic Editor. or simply press Alt + F11. this will take you to macro editor screen.
    you can use code that may look something like below to color the columns, you can also give constant column if they are fixed.
    sub ColorColumns(rngTarget As Range, _
        intColor As Integer)
    Dim c As Long
        With rngTarget
            .Interior.ColorIndex = intColour
            Next c
        End With
    End Sub
    You will find some easy and short snippets for this.

    ResultSetMetaData rsmd = rs.getMetaData();//rs is result set
    String columnName = rsmd.getColumnName(1);
    here i get columnName = "Customer_id"
    but when i try to get the tabel name from meta data as

    So far as I'm aware, you can't get metadata information about the underlying tables in a query from Oracle and/or the Oracle drivers. I suspect, in fact, that the driver would have to have its own SQL parser to get this sort of information.
    I'm curious though-- how do you have application logic that depends on the name of the source table but not know in the application what table is involved? Could you do something "cheesy" like
    SELECT 'tbl_customerRegistration' AS tbl1_name,
           tbl_customerRegistration.*

    When the same code is run on the live environment, it works just fine.
    The difference is :
    Mysql 4.1.10a, tomcat5.5.9, mysql-connector3.1.6
    What can there be wrong !!

    I didn't catch this. I think you may need to update the database driver.

  • Interactive Reporting - Chg Query from Using Table to Result Set w/ same Co

    Currently I have a query that uses an Oracle table. I would like to change the query to use the result set of another query wh/ contains the same information & column names (however, since I am creating the results from scratch, I don't have to wait for the Oracle table to be updated). Is there a way to do this change w/o IR automatically removing the column names from the results and then making me go back into each result set and re-adding them, formatting them, etc. For example, the query currently uses a table called Defect_History, wh/ has columns bug_id, application, sub-app, etc. This table is not updated on a daily basis, so I have created a new query wh/ goes against the source tables used in creating the Defect_History table and puts the latest information into an IR result set. Is there a way to change the current queries that use the Defect_History table to use the IR result set instead w/o basically recreating each of the subsequent queries? I have gone into Dashboard Studio Optimize Utility, but the queries show as using Data Model, Data Model2, etc as the Parent and I am not able to make changes to it.
    Thanks.
    Terri

    I am in the Dashboard Studio - Optimize Utility. When I select that report (or any of the others), the Reparent button is grayed out on the toolbar. I've also tried right-clicking on the report and it's grayed out there as well. Any ideas?

  • Query - Cannot Retrieve the Data / Result Set

    Hello,
    I'm trying to query a cube through the OLAP connection using Java and every time I try to execute a query an exception is thrown stating "Cannot retrieve the data set" or "Cannot retrieve the result set" depending on how I'm doing the query.  I've tried to execute the query both through the use of an IBIQuery and IBICommandProcessor object as well as directly through the IBIOlap connection via an MDX statement and both methods produce the same exception.  If anyone can shed some light on why exception is being thrown it would be greatly appreciated.

    please help me ... The question has nothing to do with 'getting' data from excel and certainly not with putting it into MySQL.
    The stack trace specifically tells you that your connection string is wrong.
    It also tells you which connection string is wrong.
    Which you can use to determine specifically which one is wrong. And which you did not provide that info to us.

  • Please Help! ?Result Set not updating correctly

    Hi
    This problem has been driving me mad for days now so if anyone can shed any light on it I?d be really grateful.
    I have a jTable in a frame which is populated via a database. (NB I?m using Access 2000 and the JDBC-ODBC driver v.4.00.6019). Data is added to the table via a dialog box. i.e. when the submit button on the dialog box is clicked, the new data input into textfields and text areas in the dialog box is added to the database and then the database is requeried so that the data just added is also displayed in the table. The database is updated every time with no problems, I?m sure of this, however the jTable is not. Sometimes the jTable displays the updated data, other times it doesn?t. e.g. say I input ?a? via the dialog box, this value does not appear in the table. Then I input ?b? say, and ?a? will then be added to the table or sometimes ?a? and ?b? together. Sometimes the table is updated first time no problem, other times I have the scenario mentioned above.
    I?ve looked at the result set that?s being returned when the database is requeried and it contains exactly the same data that appears in the jTable. So despite the fact that the database is definitely updated, I?m getting an incorrect result set. I?m using only the one connection object that?s created when the application is begun. I?ve even tried a dummy select statement before my proper requery of the database (as I?ve seen mentioned for a similar problem) but this doesn?t solve the problem.
    I am ?refreshing? the jTable by way of a refresh method in the jTable?s Table Model.
    The code is:
    public void refresh ()
      rows.clear();
      firstColumn.clear();
      try {
       Statement statement = conn.createStatement();
       ResultSet rs = statement.executeQuery(query);
       ResultSetMetaData rsmd = rs.getMetaData();
       boolean moreRecords = rs.next();
         do
          rows.addElement( getNextRow (rs,rsmd));
         while (rs.next() );
         statement.close();
      catch ( SQLException sqlex )
        sqlex.printStackTrace();
      this.fireTableDataChanged();
    }//End of Method  And the actual refresh method is being called when the dialog box is closed:
    void jButton4_actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) {
        TimetableDialog tdBox = new TimetableDialog (this,"Enter Date and Event",true,dealName);
        setDialogBoxLocationCentre (tdBox);
        tdBox.setVisible(true);//Code below this not executed until Dialog disposed of
        boolean validData = tdBox.returnDataValid();
          timetableModel.refresh();
         Does anyone have any idea what might be going on? It is vital that I solve this. Thanks a lot for any help.
    LGS

    According to the documentation on the Connection class. New Connections are auto-commit by default, but the commit takes place irregularly.
    "The commit occurs when the statement completes or the next execute occurs." This maybe where the ambiguity occurs. Maybe try forcing the commit connection.commit();

  • Result set not visible in Test View for Physical data service

    I have configured a MS SQL server stored procedure as a data service. It returns a resultset. I am calling this data service (physical) from a logical data service. I am able to see the returned result set in the test view (workshop) of the logical data service but not in the test view of the physical data service? Is this a problem within the workshop?
    Any help is appreciated.

    Never heard of this before. Can you turn on Auditing of XQuery parameters and results and then show me the audit information so I can see you are calling both the logical and the physical data service with the same arguments?
    It would also help to see both the logical and physical ds and their schemas. Just zip and post the whole dsp project if possible.

  • Result Set not updateable!

    Hi everyone. I'm using JDBC 2.0 to write a class in Java that connects to a mySQL database (through the Connector/J driver). When I try to execute the code below it throws an exception that my ResultSet in not updatable. I understand that this might have to do with setting the Primary Key, etc. but I'm not sure how to do this in Java. How do I make updatable resultSets? Thank you!
    J. Ciolkosz
    // stmt is a Statement object, srs is a ResultSet object.
    stmt = con.createStatement(ResultSet.TYPE_SCROLL_SENSITIVE,ResultSet.CONCUR_UPDATABLE);
    srs = stmt.executeQuery("SELECT * FROM "+table);
    srs.moveToInsertRow();

    I have ran into this same problem. The problem was because the table I was retreiving didn't have a primary key. Once I put a primary key into the table, then the problem went away.

  • Result set not produced

    why do i get an exception sayin "resultset not produced"

    As a guess based on the very little that you posted.
    The following would return a result set (even if no rows were returned.)
        select * from mytable
    The following would not
        update mytable
                  set myfield=3
              where myid = 4
    If you use the second sort of statement in a statement where the first sort is expected then you could get the error that you are reporting.

    Hi,
    In SQL*Plus you have some additional options, that apply to all queries until you override them or end the session.
    COLUMN section NULL BLANKapplies only to the column called "section".
    SET NULL BLANKApplies to all columns.
