After download ios5 my recently download podcasts do not appear in recently added playlist on my iphone. Anyway to change this?

I had this problem with some podcasts immediately after updating to iOS 5. In order to resolve the issue, I did this:
1- Deleted/unsubscribed from all my podcasts.
2- Synced to my iPhone.
3- Resubscrubed to all my podcasts.
4- Downloaded all podcast episodes I wanted. (You could instead restore from a backup if some episodes are no longer available for download.)
5- Synced to my iPhone.

iCloud is NOT something you download. I'm not positive how you add it after the fact, since I set it up from the get-go on mine, but try going into Settings>Mail, Contacts & Calendars and add an iCloud account.

As for VirusScan, Barney is right on the money that it does not come preinstalled on any Mac shipped new from Apple. However you have gotten it, your best bet is removing it. After installing Mavericks iTunes 11.1.3 does not find my recent iTunes Library. Where did my current library go? The new iTunes opens a 2009 library on start up. My most recent library is ignored even when I go to it directly and start iTunes with it. In another thread someone suggested repairing permissions, I did that and it did not help. I ripped my entire CD collection over the summer (1000's of songs) and now they just don't exist...or I can't find them. They were there before I upgraded to Mavericks the other day. Now vanished. I have found no other issues with Mavericks (yet). Played the music last week; upgraded, now can't find my complete current library. If anyone has a clue as to what might be causing this I sure would like know. Thanks to anyone who can help.

Hi, sorry to hear you had this problem. Sometimes after updating iTunes the library appears blank because a new library (.itl) file has been created. Anyone else experiencing this issue may be able to resolve by following the steps outlined in TS1967. There is ofter a 'Previous iTunes Libraries' folder in the iTunes folder, by quitting iTunes entirely and replacing the currently named iTunes Library.itl file with the library file named by date in the Previous Libraries folder (should look something like 'iTunes Library 2011-08-03') and renaming to 'iTunes library.itl' and relaunching you should find the library looks the same as it did before updating (metadata intact).

So you have business contacts that were lost... do you not have these on a Database in some shape or form? Sounds like you need to invest in a RAID1 backup setup for your computer so you dont have this issue in the future.
As for repairing your problem, sounds like you are going to need to start from scratch at this point or if the data is still on your phone look into a program that can take the information from the phone onto iTunes.

created an account just to piggyback on YardleyFFL, I have the exact same issue with my latest-generation IPad/Verizon data plan & having to press my luck with the exact same type of fixes as he's outlined above except in the DC metro area. *** is going on with that, had I known that I would be costing myself dearly in LTE connectivity I would've resisted the ios6 update.
Maybe this is the wrong place to vent but the IPad's cellular connectivity is one of those perks that make it worth for me to pay a premium for Apple products vis a vis other tablet competitors. For the first 5-6 months I've been really impressed with the speed of the LTE connection to the point I was tempted to upgrade from the iPhone 4s to the latest model just for that capability.
But now I'm extremely weary as the rug seems to have been yanked out from under me here, not that the LTE connection has become any slower when I have the signal, but it's now its impossible to establish the 4g LTE connection in many places where I had four bars before the software update. Would love any answers or recommendations - fairly new to iDevices so maybe it's some mistaken setting I'm using, if so please advise - but otherwise it's left a very bad taste in my mouth, & I commend and co-sign with the poster above for raising the issue.

Podcasts don't appear in Recently Added folder after upgrade to itunes7.7

I just upgraded to itunes version 7.7. With this new upgrade my "Recently Added" folder in itunes no longer shows podcasts, it only shows songs. I have tried looking for a setting that will let me add Podcasts to this folder but I can't. Is anyone else having this problem? Prior to this latest upgrade Podcasts have always showed up in my Recently Added folder.

I, too, would like this fixed, but let me offer this workaround I discovered:
1. Create a regular Playlist for each podcast you subscribe to
2. Go to the Podcasts section of iTunes
3. Right-click on a podcast you subscribe to
4. From the menu, select "Add to playlist"
5. Left-click on the playlist that corresponds to the podcast you've chosen
6. Repeat for every podcast
After doing this, my podcast episodes go right into the playlists where I want them. They still don't show in Recently Added, which annoys me, but at least I know where they are. Even better, once I did the steps above, the podcast episodes that had downloaded since I "upgraded" iTunes now all appeare in their appropriate Playlists.

I receive the following message after an hour and 15 minutes of downloading: There was a problem downloading the software for ipad (Gives the ipad name). This network timed out. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, or try again later. Please Help, the new features look VERY useful to me.

I downloaded myscrapbook nook toolbar, but it does not appear on my home page. Help!

After finding a scrapbook site that I believe would suit my needs, I downloaded the "my scrapbook nook" toolbar. The download was successful, but the toolbar is not on my home page. I checked Tools-->Downloads, and it is listed. How do I find the toolbar and bring it to my home page with my other tool bars? This has also happened when I tried other downloads. They seem to disappear. If I find them, e.g., in programs, I can't get them to my desktop for easy access or do anything with them.

Downloaded into your Download folder, but not yet installed. You have to install it.
If you can't find the iTunes.exe in the Download folder, use your computer's Search facility to look for it.

Podcasts no longer appearing on recently added playlish

My podcasts used to automatically appear on the recently added playlist. then something happened and my itunes was cleared. I added all the songs etc back on to my ipod but now the podcasts no longer appeared on the recently added playlist like they used.
It was handing when they appeared there and I was wondering if there was a way I could get them to reappear there?

I upgraded to Firefox 8.0.1 on may MacBook OSX 10.6.8 and not all files I download from my Outlook Web app are ashx file, not what they were originally sent in. How do I change this ?

NOPE. This had no effect.

App update on 4S frozen in "download now" mode. The screen will not respond to touch, anywhere. Rest of iPhone working AOK. I plugged into my iMac and opened ITunes

While playing Book Worm, a message appeared that there are updates for the iPhone (at no cost!). There was no indication on the App icon of an update. I proceeded, entered my password and the "Download Now, iBooks will now begin to download" appeared with the OK box. Tapping same has done nothing (this started yesterday). Now the App icon indicates 1 update. I plugged the iPhone into my iMac, opening both the App store and ITunes -- nothing. So my App application is frozen and I'm out of ideas. I need help, please.

Thanks, but frozen screen negates this. The download was not at my request, but at an iPhone update & giving me the opportunity to download 4 apps at no cost.
Per a suggestion elsewhere here, I powered off, i.e., holding power & home buttons simultaneously, got the Apple logo, entered the App store and the freeze was gone, and the offered downloads nowhere to be found on my phone. Well, at least App store is available again.
