After downloading the latest version of Firefox I am unable to display more than one website at a time in the tool bar at the top of my screen.

Before I upgrades to your latest version I was able to display many websites at the same time in the tool bar at the top of my screen. Now I can only display one at a time and it is extremely annoying.

Hello,
Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a ''Clean reinstall''. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
'''Note:''' You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
#After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
#Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
#*'''Windows:'''
#**C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
#**C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
#*'''Mac:''' Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
#*'''Linux:''' If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see [[Installing Firefox on Linux]]. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the [http://www.mozilla.org/firefox#desktop Firefox download page], simply remove the folder ''firefox'' in your home directory.
#Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
##Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
##Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
More information about reinstalling Firefox can be found [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-and-diagnose-firefox-problems?esab=a&s=troubleshooting&r=3&as=s#w_5-reinstall-firefox here].
<b>WARNING:</b> Do not run Firefox's uninstaller or use a third party remover as part of this process, because that could permanently delete your Firefox data, including but not limited to, extensions, cache, cookies, bookmarks, personal settings and saved passwords. <u>These cannot be recovered unless they have been backed up to an external device!</u>
Please report back to see if this helped you!
Thank you.

So now that you have repeated the same thing three times that doesn't make things any clearer at all.
You are copying files from where to where?
How are you attempting to copy files, software or click and drag?
Any other detail would be helpful.

  • Firefox won't let me open more than one window at a time. how do i fix the problem

Firefox won't let me open more than one window at a time. It use to allow me to open multiple windows before but for no apparent reason it stopped. I uninstalled it and re-installed but I'm having the same problem. How do I fix the problem

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (on Mac: "Firefox > Quit")

  • Since my computer upgraded to the latest version of Firefox, I can't access or access only partial websites - how do I fix?

My computer did it's normal Window update as well as updated to the latest version of FireFox. Since then I can access minimum parts of normal websites and I cannot use multiple tabs to search different websites. I restored my computer to before the Windows 7 update thinking that was the problem but I still have trouble accessing sites and extreme slowness with FireFox. Any ideas?

  • I installed the latest version of Firefox and it opens to google. I would like to use my old Sbcyahoo home page as the default page. How do I change

I installed the latest version of Firefox. The home page is now a google search box. I would like to use my old sbcyahoo desktop with its icons. I am unable to make the change.

Oops. I could have been more clear, sorry.
TOOLS > OPTIONS > GENERAL tab
Under Start-up at the top of GENERAL, you have an option to type in the url or use the tabs to set your homepage to the current page.
Go to your chosen site, open OPTIONS and click 'Use current page.'
Sorry for the shorthand version previously. I blame the cat.

  • I just upgraded to Mountain Lion.  Now I can't open more than one website at a time.  When I do the first site, minimized and in the dock, is taken up by the second one.

I just upgraded my computer from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion.  I used to be able to have as many websites open as I wished.  Now when I open a website and minimize it, it minimizes and moves to the dock just like it used to do.  But now when I open a second website, it takes the place of the first one down in the dock that was minimized.  I can't open more than 1 website at time now.

There is something basic going on that unfortunately has me stumped.
Before you spend the $20 please try creating a new user, for testing purposes:
Creating a temporary account to isolate user-specific problems: Isolating an issue by using another user account
That is easy enough to accomplish. If Safari and the Dock behave as you expect while using that account, it will help determine the cause. Please report the results of this test.
Delete the temporary account after you finish testing.
Many of those features I mentioned are new in Mountain Lion, and represent a significant change from Snow Leopard. Though you should certainly continue to use your Mac the way you have been accustomed to using it, you may find using Mountain Lion's new features advantageous. If you are fortunate enough to have an Apple Store nearby, you would benefit by taking advantage of Apple's many free workshops: https://www.apple.com/retail/learn/
Otherwise you may find yourself spending the $20 often. The help available here is often better than Apple's. It is not always correct, but it is always free.

The dropmarker (down-arrow) has been removed from the Back/Forward button in Firefox 4. You can do one of the following:
*right-click the Back/Forward button to show the drop-down list of history/sites for the tab

  • Unable to open more than one site at a time. The + is not working at all.

A few days ago I suddenly lost the ability to have more than one web page open. The "+" will not open anything.

Uninstall the Ask toolbar and it should work again. There is a compatibility issue with the Ask toolbar and Firefox that prevents new tabs from being opened.
There are a couple of places to check for the Ask toolbar:
    * Check the Windows Control panel for the Ask Toolbar - http://about.ask.com/apn/toolbar/docs/default/faq/en/ff/index.html#na4
    * Also check your list of extensions, you may be able to uninstall it from there - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Uninstalling+add-ons

  • Thumbnail pics won't open up when clicked on in Firefox. This is happening on more than one website.

When you click on a small picture on a website (i.e. Facebook) a new page opens up with the comments showing but the picture does not show. This has also happened on some other websites I have been on too. This problem has been happening for months to me and I downloaded Google Chrome to get around the problem.

You may have accidentally clicked the 'Block Images' item in the right click context menu while trying to save an image.
Check the image exceptions: Tools > Options > Content >Load Images >Exceptions
    * See: [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Options+window+-+Content+panel Options window - Content panel]
A way to see which images are blocked is to click the Site Identification icon (favicon/image on the left end of the location bar) and click the "More Information" button.
*The Security tab of the Page Info window (also accessible via Tools > Page Info).
*Go to the Media tab of that Page Info window.
*Select the first image and scroll down though the list with the Down arrow.
*If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check mark in the box "Block Images from..." then remove the check mark to unblock the images from that domain.

  • I have the latest version of Firefox. Now it is impossible to upload photos to websotes as Jetphotos and Airlinersnet. What is the reason?

    I have Firefox 6.0.1
I always upload (for many years) photos to websites as Jetphotos.net. by using Firefox.
Suddenly this is not working anymore.
With Internet Explorer it is working fine.

  • The timekeeping system we use does not like HTML 5 so what is the latest version of Firefox that does not use HTML 5?

We have been told by our timekeeping system provider that the latest versions of FireFox, Chrome and IE are not compatible with their websites at this time. I was told that it was because of the use of HTML 5 by the more recent versions of these web browsers. I need to download the most recent version of FireFox that does not use HTML 5. Can anyone tell me which version this would be?

It isn't "Timesheet Next Generation", is it? We had a thread on that here: [https://support.mozilla.org/questions/961306 Websites using php and mysql stopped sorting drop down lists properly starting last week. Did something change?]
Unfortunately, HTML5 is a large specification with a lot of parts that has been implemented in pieces over the course of several years. It would be really helpful if your vendor could indicate what EXACTLY is not compatible and then it could be researched. Otherwise, you'd have to use trial and error. Either way, you would end up with an older browser that isn't safe to run on the internet. It could be time to consider other vendors...
