After opening a new window, [object] is displayed instead of the link

Hello,
I have the following JSP - file. It prints a link to the display, if this link is clicked a new window with the file Test2.html is opened. This all works.
My problem: In the first window, at the place where the link "Press" was, is now the phrase [object]. But I want that there is still the link "Press" and not [object].

Keep focus in the same window after opening a new window per key-event

I have an application in which user can press on a specific key, and that opens a new window in a JFrame. User might want open a few of such windows in a row by changing the cursor position and pressing the same letter key. But the problem is that with every new window Java VM transfers the focus to that new window. User is forced either to click to regain focus, or to move the mouse out-and-in the window, in which case the focus returns to it as well, assuming the X11 style of focus by cursor position of course.
Is there any way to keep the focus with the window on which the cursor is placed?

"Move To New Window" Does Not Work in Version 5. It opens a new window, but it's blank, and the tab I wanted as the new window stays where it is. Is this a bug?

Right mouse-clicking on a tab and selecting "Move To New Window" should open the contents of the tab in a new window, and then close the original tab on the original instance of FF. But in Version 5, that action simply spawns a new window that is totally blank, and the tab I wanted opened in a new window stays attached to the original window.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the ''Safe mode'' start window.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (on Mac: "Firefox > Quit")

If Firefox is set as the default browser, and any application attempts to open a new window, this fails and I get the error "Firefox is already running..."

Here is what I am running:

Fresh Install of Firefox 11. No add-ons enabled as a result of troubleshooting.
I am a user with administrator rights
UAS is disabled.
To begin, this has been going on Since Firefox 10 or so. A few months now.
I am able to open Firefox. My add-ons worked (ABP, Flashblock, ABP Element Hiding Helper, IETAB2, Downthemall, Greasemonkey, 4chan extension) had no problems. Firefox is set and has been set for the last two years as my default web browser.
However Since approximately Firefox 10 or so, maybe before that, If I have a Firefox session open, and any other application attempts to open a session in a new window, I get the Firefox is already running, but not responding error."
I attempted to follow troubleshooting advice already posted (look for parent.lock files left behind [none present], multiple sessionstore.js files [none present], create a new user profile, attempted to clear out the "read-only" permission in windows 7, however as soon as it is cleared, the read only permission returns.)
As a last resort, I deleted the Firefox folder, the %APPDATA%/Mozilla directory in its entirety, then utilized CCleaner to remove any and all references to Firefox in the windows registry, then did a full re-install, no extensions installed right now.
I checked preferences and have the option "open new windows in a new tab" checked off. The problem persists regardless if this option is checked on or off. This problem persists in or out of safe mode, even with the brand new install.
Test Cases:

Case 1: Open a firefox session. Utilize any other program that attempts to open a link to their website in a new browser window or new browser session. Experience "Firefox is already running" error
Case 2: Open a firefox session. Right click on Firefox on the task bar. Select "open in new window". Experience "Firefox is already running" error
Case 3: Open a firefox session. Select the Firefox Menu > New tab > New Window. A new window will actually open.
This is the only method of opening a new window in the same browser session or profile that actually works on my system. Attempting to open a browser session from the task bar "open new window dialog" or opening a new window while a current window/session is running will not open firefox in a new window or a new tab in the current session. The "Firefox is already running, but is not responding" error will occur every time.

Cor-el's suggestion resolved my problem. Apparently the MOZ_NO_REMOTE variable was set to 1 on my system variables. I never made it, and really have no idea how it got there, but deleting this variable and restarting firefox has resolved the issue. Thanks Cor-el!
Marking case: Solved
Solution: Verify the MOZ_NO_REMOTE variable is NOT set to 1. This can be achieved by simply deleting this variable.

Having multiple tabs open in one window, and then opening a new window and closing it, will close the newly opened window, but it will want to close the other original window with the multiple tabs as well.

This only happens if the original window has multiple tabs, and the new window has only ONE tab at the moment you close it.
Also, the problem only occurs when TWO windows of firefox are open. So opening up a 3rd window, and then closing it, will not give you any problems. The interaction occurs between two windows of firefox only.

This can happen if you drag a tab slightly down in the browser window while clicking.
Firefox has a feature called tear-off tabs
You can detach a tab from the current window and open it in a new window by dragging a tab in the browser window.
You can also do this via the right-click context menu of a tab: Move to New Window
You can drag that tab back to the tab bar in the original window to undo that detaching.

I cannot open a New Window. How do I get the ability to open a new (second) window?

When I upgraded from 3.6.15 to 3.6.18 it wiped out the use of all my extensions, add ons, and bookmarks, yet they were all still there. I deleted the suffixes on extensions, rebooted FF and they all started working. The only thing not working is opening a New Window. I click on File - New Window, I right click on FF icon on desktop, icon in Quick menu, I tried dragging a tab to the desktop. Nothing works.
Also FF will not allow me to install the update Adobe plugin.

In Safari I can define what pages are loaded when I open a "New Window". How do I achieve the same in Firefox (and supress the current begavior of it opening all of the tabs that I defined as my home page all the time)?

I am returning to Firefox after having used Safari on Mac for the past year. One thing I liked about Safari was that I could define what page gets loaded when I used the File Menu command to open a new Browser Window. I defined this as opening up with my Bookmarks Menu where I then was able to select the page I wanted to go to.
I have not been able to find a way to define this in Firefox and was surprised to see that "New Window" in Firefox opens all of tabs that I've defined as my Home Page.
Is there a way to manage this?

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

Open a new window with a sorting zreport when the navigation Link is pushed

Hi,
I'm new in CRM and I have not too much idea. I need to create a link into the IC Webclient and when I push it, a new (internet explorer) window should be opened and it should show a sorting Zreport (if it is possible, and ALV Zreport). Please could somebody give me some information about how to proceed?

Hi.
If you want to create a new link and when push it a new windows should be opened then you need use Transaction Launcher. If you are talking about ALV and ZReport into an internet explorer windows then you need ITS otherwise you need use BSP or any other HTML solution that SAP offers which also has something like ALV but with web layout.

When I open a new tab I get AOL instead of the tiles. How do I fix this?

I made the mistake of downloading the "new" Firefox with AOL toolbar. I did not like it, and deleted the toolbar per instructions. However, whenever I open a new tab, it comes up as AOL instead of as the tile history. How do I get my tiles back? I don't see that little gear all the help pages talk about......

When tabs are on top options is on; if I click a link (which is set to open in new window by web site or addon) the new opened page's tabs goes beyond the screen limit. when i restore down and restore up the page it gets its normal form.

No, it's not even remotely possible. What you encountered was an attempt to scam you, and a pathetic one at that.

The likely reason the email appeared to have come from one of your previous eBay vendors is that his email address was harvested using any number of methods. The email probably didn't even originate with him. eBay is a rich source for obtaining such information.

After updating to automatic firefox 10.0 I cannot use open in new window. Why ?

Tried to "open link in new window" on several sites after automatically updating to 10.0 . Windows links will not open in new window.

You may need to delete the Firefox program folder before (re)installing the latest Firefox. 
In case you still have problems after installing then check your security software.
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

How do I change opening a new window so it stays on the new window when I open it?

When I click on the 'New Window' button, it opens a new window than immediately goes back to the original window. I want the new window to remain displayed until I choose to go back to the original window.

Sounds that you've clicked the Rest button and have created a new profile.
Note that "Reset" creates a new default profile with a time stamp appended to identify it and tries to recover settings like bookmarks and history and passwords and cookies and auto-fill data from the old profile, but you lose data like extensions and other customizations.

Firefox 15+ versions will move the old profile folder to an "Old Firefox Data-##" folder on the Desktop that gets a number appended if you use reset more than once.
If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

Open PDF in same browser when the preference is set to open in new window.

The corporate policy for all applications is to open the PDF document in new browser/reader but our application needs the reader to open in the same browser even the preference "Display PDF in Browser" is unchecked.... The setPreference from javascript (html) doesn't seemed to work... How do i make this work?
Also, I need the links the browser to open in new browser once the PDF is loaded... do I need to reset the preference once it is loaded for the links to open in new browser?

There is no way to override that from your application. And if the Links in the PDF have an explicit "open in new window" setting, that is respected over the preference.

Title bar gets squashed when a link opens in new window.

It doesn't happen when i click "open in new window" but only when I click a link that opens in new window automatically. The title bar gets narrower so the tab goes outside the screen. After minimizing and maximizing again it becomes OK. It's the same in "safe mode". I also tried creating a new profile but the problem still exists.

hi all,
i have an xml file with lots of stuff in it that uses an xsl to display...my question is how can i open a new window by clicking a button ...may be if i click the button name "new" it open a new window with www.yahoo.com. The button is already there only need help to find the perfect code to open a new window.

Buttons and windows don't have anything to do with XML and XSL.
Perhaps you are generating some HTML, and you want to know how to cause an HTML button to open a new window? Nothing to do with XML or XSL. Ask the question in a forum about HTML and Javascript.
