Air file not testing
Hi all
I have been testing Air (making new windows etc) and it seems that when I start a new air file and test all seems OK, I publish and after I go back to the .fla and then test (control + enter) ......nothing. Is this one of the Flash CS4 ever growing number of bugs ? Any comments help appreciated ...Thanks
Thanks Atif and Barna Biro... thats what I am already doing
var file:File = new File(File.applicationDirectory.nativePath + "htmlFolder/sub-folder/fileName.html");
htmlView.location = file.nativePath;
and have also tried the following, as mentioned by Atif
var file:File = File.applicationDirectory.resolvePath("htmlFolder/sub-folder/fileName.html");
htmlView.location = file.nativePath;
but what I have noticed is that it actually finds out the file.. because there is another file, a db file, which does not need to be rendered on html, is picked u perfectly, is updated, and everything can be done to it.
So the problem is rendering of HTML
in mac............... how do we render local html files ??? Why local.. because i was able to open up youtube.com

*.air files not working on android honeycomb
hello friends,
i've android tablet(honeycomb 3.2) and adobe air installed with latest version. i have file with air and extension is also .air however when i tried to open file it returns an error like 'there is no application found to open this file'
how can i run .air applications in androids ?Unfortunately I can only generate a log for the Air install
itself. Once Air 1.5 is installed and I try to install any Air
Application, it fails immediately with the error message in my
initial post. I created the .airappinstall.log following the
procedures in kb403123 and echo was on when I went to the Thwirl
site and clicked "Install Thwirl" and the error message comes up
instantly and no data is added to .airappinstall.log. And when I
download the .air file manually Windows cannot find Air at all to
associate with the .air file. Here is the text from the fresh Air
install I performed right before trying to install Thwirl (taken
from the .airinstall.log file):

[AIR] File Not Found in MAC OS but Works in Windows
Hi All
I have an htmlFolder in my "src" which contains html files. What I do is, that at runtime i render the html File in <mx:HTML id="htmlView"> using the following code.
htmlView.location = "app:/htmlFolder/sub-folder/fileName.html";
Problem ->
This works fine in windows, but does not work in MAC OS. Probably because windows uses folder structure, not sure about MAC OS, but i guess it installs as a single file containing sub-folders hidden from user. Does anyone knows a solution to it?
Thanks and Regards,
Ahmed.Thanks Atif and Barna Biro... thats what I am already doing

Hello-
I have an air application that is distributed via CDROM, the app is signed by a code signing certificate and timestamped. In mid-August when my certicate expired my users started calling stating that they couldn't install our product due to the following error: "Sorry, an error has occured. The application could not be installed because the AIR file is damaged. Try obtaining a new AIR file from the application author." From my understanding a timestamped application is taken at a point in time when it's generated so why would it matter if the certificate was still valid? I have since replaced the certificate and will need to redistribute to my (thousands of) users however when I test it out using a future date and time the same error occurs. Any information to help resolve this would be grately appreciated.my command:

-package -storetype pkc

File not found in Link Between Projects Window - test no edit rights to other file
Hi,
I am doing a test to see if i can create a link by typing the link path (f.i. <>\plan2\1) in the predecessor column without having edit rights to the other plan.
I expect this to be possible as the edit in the other plan (creation of link) is only done after the change is accepted through the LBP (link between projects) window. Besides, when i do it to both my own plans, in this LBP window i get 'create external
link' as difference to accept.
When I do it on Project Server 2010 to a plan I do not own or having edit rights on, I got the message 'file not found'.
Is this message related to what I am trying or does it have another cause?
Does someone know if what I want can be done?
Rgds
SanderHi Sander,
I confirm that for creating a link between projects, you need to have access in read-write to both files.
Indeed creating such a link will write in both files information about successors (in the source file) and predecessors (in the destination file).
Note that if you only need to update the successor, you don't need anymore to open in read-write mode the source file, since you won't write any more information in it.
Hope this helps.

File Not Found error on local test server
Hello all,
I have no idea what happened, but my local test server went
from working fine to not working at all. When I go to test a page
locally, I get this error:
The requested URL /[filename].php was not found on this
server
I did not change any of the configuration files, I can load
and use phpMyadmin, but absolutely can not test a page locally, not
even something as basic as David Powers' phptest.php page which is
a whopping 2 lines of code to verify the php version on my
computer.
PLEASE, I beg of you, if you have any suggestions, PLEASE
throw them my way. I am completely stonewalled from further
development because of this issue. PLEASE HELP!
Sincerely,
wordmanIs that a root relative link? If you aren't using virtual
hosts those won't
work.

How can I convert my Open Source document files into Word document files? I cannot download Pages since my Macbook Air does not have the most recent software. I downloaded open office to my mac to try and save money. It worked well for a while. Now I get this pop-up message that asks me to "Reopen" and when I select the option, nothing happens. I cannot save my documents anymore and I cannot convert them to word. Help!
dwb wrote:
Does OpenOffice output Word documents by default or do you have to select it manually?
You have 17 options to save as in Open Office, one of which is .doc files, yes it needs to be saved manually.
You may be able to default to DOC, but have not tried same.
Since Open Office is 99% same as Word, I use it, or Word, either one. Open Office is a bit less buggy than Word 11' -
SAP ME 6.0 Visual Test and Repair Local file not found
Hi,
In our SAP ME 5.2 environment we have Test & Repair installed on a separate server. On that server we also have a shared directory where we are placing our GenCad files (.CAD). These files we can sucessfully view in the POD on SAP ME 5.2.
Now I am trying out SAP ME 6.0. I have done:
- Installed Product Visualization 7.2 on my client device
- In System Rule maintenance I have set the rule VTR Model Location to point to our server where our GENCAD files are stored.
i.e ServerXXX
- In material maintenance for manufactured material A I have set the drawing name to point to the shared directory and .CAD file.
i.e D:/CADfiles/productname.CAD
- Created and released a shop order for material A
- Started the "POD - Visual test and Repair"
Entered operation
Entered Resource
Entered SFC for the shop order that is using the manufactured material with
Pressed "Start" - The SFC is now active in the operation.
Pressed "Model viewer" button
A part of the screen now says "Visual test and Repair" - 3D Model viewer. It is blinking a couple (3) of times, but nothing appears. When I press the "Model viewer" button once more. An error message says "Local file not found".
What is happening? Is GenCad files suddenly not working in Test and Repair? I have read something about purchasing ECAD file converters, is this what I need?
Br,
JohanProblem solved after asking for eCAD converter licenses from Right Hemisphere.

First of all, are you using ECLIPSE? What is your development
Environment. I had run into same issue, after hours of trying
different things, I installed the FLEX BUILDER and was able to
create the application without any issues. I have also noticed that
FLEX BUILDER works more smoothly than Eclipse and since then I have
been developing within FB.

The cooperative I am a part of have a homepage made with Dreamweaver several years ago. Suddenly some of the pages stopped working with this error message:
File not found:
includes/common/lib/file_upload/KT_FileUpload.asp
Please upload the includes/ folder to the testing server.
I checked, and the file is actually missing from the web server. Do i need to purchase Dreamweaver to download this file, and is this a path worth pursuing?
Dreamweaver version: I don't know which or how to check this, could check if given the proper instructions.The page that you have shown uses one of the InterAkt extensions for Dreamweaver. Unfortunately, InterAkt was bought out by Adobe who in turn did nothing with it. The latest version was about 5 years ago and was called ADDT.
Maybe someone here can help you Friends of Interakt: Home Page -
AIR Badge + RewriteRule fails - Downloaded file is not an air file
Hi everyone!
I'm not entirely sure my problem comes from RewriteRule but I've searched this forum for topics on corrupted AIR files and the Install Badge and tried almost every possible tip with no luck so I thought maybe my special issue comes from it...
Here we go:
I have a server-side script that builds AIR apps which are supposed to be installed (via an Install Badge). Those AIR apps are not stored at a public URL (for security reasons) but read (via PHP) when a specific URL is called. Let me give you an example (with fake paths) :
The server-side built AIR app is store at /srv/data/air/myApp.air
A RewriteRule redirects calls to http://www.my-server.com/air/999.air to http://www.my-server.com/air.php?id=999
The air.php uses the GET id to read the AIR file :
header("Pragma: public");
header("Expires: 0");
header("Cache-Control: must-revalidate, post-check=0, pre-check=0");
header("Cache-Control: private", false);
header("Content-Type: $mimeType");
header("Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=$name;" );
header("Content-Length: ".filesize($path));
readfile($path);
With $mimeType="application/vnd.adobe.air-application-installer-package+zip" and $name="999.air"...
When accessing the rewritten URL directly with a browser, everything is fine: the AIR file can be downloaded and installed as expected.
But! When using an Install Badge linking to that URL, I get the nasty "The application could not be installed because the AIR file is damaged" message...
And here's what's stored in .airappinstall.log:
Starting app install of http://(...)/9889.air
UI SWF load is complete
UI initialized
Downloading file to C:\Documents and Settings\Quentin\Local Settings\Temp\fla19D.tmp
Received HTTP Response Status event
Response URL is http://(...)/9889.air
Downloaded file is not an air file.
starting cleanup of temporary files
application installer exiting
Hum... And I'm stuck.
Thoughts?
I have multiple Install Badges in the same page, do you think this can break things?
I've try adding the AddType instruction in a .htaccess file but it didn't change a thing...
Thanks in advance!OK, I've got news.
Bad news.
In fact I realized the appurl set in the Install badge is (obviously) not called directly but by a script located at http://adobe.com/apollo... So your my session is not available in the script that is called and that reads the actual AIR file. So I can't check wether the user requiring the file has the right to. At least, not the way I intended to do it...
I will keep you updated if I find something! -
The error:
The application could not be installed because the AIR file is damaged. Try obtaining a new AIR file from the application author.
is generated when an AIR installation file is lauched from a Samba Network Drive in Vista Utlimate 64. If the install files are copied to a local drive, it installs without incident.Working with networks drives are never reliable. Corruption, path problems, networks connections, and privlatges can come in the way of a properly mapped drive. I think your solution is fairly straight forward. You need to install your application from a local filesystem, not a mapped network drive. In the meantime, log a bug report HERE.

Trying this: adt -package -keystore HelloWorld.p12 -storetype pkcs12 -target bundle HelloWorld.app HelloWorld.xml
Gives me the error:
File /Users/cameron/HelloWorld/HelloWorld.xml is not a valid AIRI or AIR file
And here is the contents of that XML file:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<application xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/air/application/13.0">
<id>examples.html.HelloWorld</id>
<versionNumber>0.1</versionNumber>
<filename>HelloWorld</filename>
<initialWindow>
<title>Hello World</title>
<content>HelloWorld.html</content>
<visible>false</visible>
<minimizable>true</minimizable>
<maximizable>false</maximizable>
<resizable>false</resizable>
<width>800</width>
<height>600</height>
<systemChrome>none</systemChrome>
<transparent>true</transparent>
</initialWindow>
</application>
What's the issue?
Running adt -version gives:
13.0.0.83
so the version is correct... and the XML file looks okay to me. Any ideas?Try this: adt –package -storetype pkcs12 -keystore HelloWorld.p12 HelloWorld.air HelloWorld.xml .
If that doesnt work try this: adt –package -storetype pkcs12 -keystore HelloWorld.p12 HelloWorld.air HelloWorld.xml HelloWorld.html
This assumes I have all your file names correct and creates an .air file instead of an app file. After some researching Im not sure you can create an app file from an HTML AIR project(not positive but not seeing examples with HTML).
The first example says to package all files in the project directory where your xml & HTML are at -
Native Installer works with Net Use, but AIR File does not.
I'm building an AIR application that runs a "net use" command in windows 7.
Strangely, the installer type appears to impact run permissions:
+ Export release build to "Native Installer" -> "Net Use" works and I see all my test alert boxes.
+ Export release build to "AIR File" --> animations run and the app is responsive, but I don't see any of my alert boxes and the "Net Use" command shows no sign of running.Update - partial resolution:
Apparently you have to use a Native Install to use native functionality (don't know why this includes Alert Boxes).
I just found this bit on Adobe's web site:
Packaging an AIR application in a native installer
http://help.adobe.com/en_US/air/build/WS789ea67d3e73a8b22388411123785d839c-8000.html
Adobe, please work to address this. I'd like to release cross-compatible code and this creates a situation where the user has to choose a different installer based on their platform. Minor, but annoying when an AIR file works for both in other instances.
It would also be nice to get some sort of error message. I had no idea why things weren't working (even my Alert boxes were being swallowed).
