Ajax for Dreamweaver 8?

In a desire to get myself up to date with Ajax, I was looking
to download the latest pre-release but have been wondering whether
or not it will work with Dreamweaver 8.
Anyone have any idea? Or experience with DW8 and Ajax?
Anyone know where I can download a version that works with
DW8?

Spry will work in your generated pages. With Dreamweaver 8
what you'll be missing are the Insert bar icons, property
inspector, code hints, and the colored outlines displayed within
Design View when a (some?) Spry elements are hovered over. So
basically, as long as you can add all the code yourself you'll be
fine. One thing to think about when it comes to Design View is that
DW8's CSS rendering is not as good as CS3 or CS4 so it is possible
that some of the widgets may not look great within DW8, but they
will still work fine in browsers. you can check for how things will
look by opening up some of the sample files from the download
package.

I have been looking for the past couple of weeks. Some dweeb at adobe decided to redirect all URLs that had "air" in them to the stupid dev site that of course has no information on it about dreamweaver (except to buy it). It would be logical to put something big on the right side that says "if you got here to download the adobe air extension for dreamweaver it has been moved to here..... I guess nobody is monitoring the thousands of redirects from the air/tools/ajax and might say.. hey I should fix that.....

Patch for Dreamweaver CS5 or 6 from Poodle Vulnerability

GoDaddy ran a security patch for Poodle and now Dreamweaver can't connect. FTP over SSL/TLS explicit encryption is used. Is there a patch from Adobe for Dreamweaver?

The perpetual license of CS6 is essentially Adobe's response to those folks who absolutely refuse to switch to the Creative Cloud Subscription plans. It's been a long time since I've been here. Hope life is treating you well.
Tried a lot of other DW extensions in the mean time
None of them match the robustness of ADDT
Most are buggy, one shot ponies that miss the bigger picture of providing integrated tools for development. All I've tried are a closed shop of functions and variables that you have to navigate by hand if you want any sort of amended functionality - on the whole a pretty poor lot.
And, I've looked at many of the off the shelf offerings that Adobe had told us that are clients wanted rather than bespoke solutions.
And no, most don't want them - they still just want concise tools/interfaces that are easy to learn, use and do what THEY want them to do. Not behemoth collections of options, bells an whistles. Naturally some do and I'm happy to oblige (who wants to write a forum from scratch!). So its not clear cut either way as seemed to be implied a year or so ago.
Yes, it would be nice just to have the toolkit useable from CS5
- but as ever, the end users are out of the picture. Maybe there will be a new version, or completely new tools - that would be most welcome.
We still need good data tools. Integration with databases (none of my clients want to pull data from HTML tables - no matter how clever that is) and
CSS Style frameworks that take the grind out of positioning and styling every little item.
Gadgets and Gizmos - YUI3 looks like the one with the most backing - judging from YUI2 - have to keep and eye on that.
Let's hope Adobe have finally put back some functionality for php mysql developers with CS5
and the the wilderness that DW has been in for the last couple of years grows some strong roots

It's possible as long as you know how to program. DW has nothing built in to make these. If you don't have the knowledge I would recommend outsourcing it or going to a place like Hotscripts.com and look for one in your server language. None really come to mind or jump out at me, but many are free or have free trials so that you can see what works best for you.
