Alias for parameter in query

Hi,
I'm new on SAP B1, and I try to generate a query with its manager.
It's a beautiful tool.
When I run my query, I need to ask a parameter to user.
When SAP asks the parameter to user, it uses the database filed's name, but I'd like to use a my alias, so to help user.
For example at least "Code" I'd like tu use my "Insert the item code".
I'm sorry for my bad english, and I hope my question is clear.
Thanks.

Hi,
Welcome you post on the forum.
Your English is not bad at all. By default, B1 will use the database filed's name for query parameter. If you want to use alias, Crystal Report or XL Report is necessary.
Thanks,
Gordon

• Alias for field in inner join query

In my Oracle 9i Schema, I have two tables:TableOne
pocOne pocTwo
2 3
2 4
1 2
TableTwo
TableTwoId Name
1 Jones
2 Smith
3 Edwards
4 CamdenMy SQL that works to fetch all records with Smith works great:select Name from TableTwo
Inner Join TableOne
on TableTwo.TableTwoId in (TableOne.pocOne, TableOne.pocTwo)
where Name = 'Smith' Now I need to create an alias for the Name field. Here is my attempt:select myAliasName from TableTwo
Inner Join TableOne
on TableTwo.TableTwoId in (TableOne.pocOne, TableOne.pocTwo), (select Name as myAliasName from TableTwo)
where myAliasName = 'Smith' This attempt pulls up all the records instead of just Smith records. Please advise how I can create an alias for the Name field in my above query?

Are you just looking for
select Name AS AliasName
from TableTwo Inner Join TableOne
on TableTwo.TableTwoId in (TableOne.pocOne, TableOne.pocTwo)
where Name = 'Smith' Justin

• Urgent: How to list all alias for a server throw DNS query?

Hi
Is there anyone know how to list all alias for a server by asking the network DNS. Is that possible?
It doesn't work with InetAddress it return a single result.
Best regard

InetAddress will not get you the aliases, but you can certainly find all the different IP addresses for a specific host name using the getAllByName() method.
You won't be able to get the aliases since those IP addresses (assuming there are more than 1) will all be cached as mapping to the name you passed to the getAllByName() method and you can't clear the map cache until the JVM exits.
So your best hope is to get a list of IP's and either exit your app and restart with a new mode, or save them to a file for another app to read.

• Get alias name from dynamic query

Hi All,
I would make a plsql function using dynamic query.
And the function takes a whole sql query as a parameter.
The main issue is that the function should get what alias or columns were queried.
For example,
FUNCTION_GET_QUERY_ALIAS('SELECT 1 AS col1, 2 AS col2 FROM DUAL')
Inside the function, it should find the alias name COL1 and COL2.
I'd appreciate for any help.

I have modified print_table as function and made it to satisfy your needs.

• Report parameter from query

Hi,
The distribution file uses parameters from the query in the report
The problem is that if no records match it means that when it tries to resolve &<report_id it can't and generates the following error
Terminated with error: REP-34308: Invalid reference parameter 'report_id' in distribution list
Does anyone know how I can check if this is null in the distribution file?
<foreach>
<destype id="blob1" name="blobdestination" instance="this" format="pdf">
<property name="desname"
value="http://host:port/prod/*&<report_id>*/&<key_val>/&<FileName>/&<Type>"/>
<include src="mainSection"/>
</destype>
</foreach>

Hi Gorgo,
According to your description, you have problem when in passing a parameter for running a Oracle Query. Right?
Based on my knowledge, it use "&" as synax for parameter in Oracle, like we use "@" in SQL Server. In this scenario, maybe you can try '01/01/2014' when inputing in "From". We are not sure if there's any limitation for To_Date()
function. For your self-testing, you can try the query in sqlplus/sql delveloper. Since your issue is related to Oracle query, we suggest you post this thread onto Oracle forum.

• How to pass multiple query string values using the same parameter in Query String (URL) Filter Web Part

Hi,
I want to pass multiple query string values using the same parameter in Query String (URL) Filter Web Part like mentioned below:
http://server/pages/Default.aspx?Title=Arup&Title=Ratan
But it always return those items whose "Title" value is "Arup". It is not returned any items whose "Title" is "Ratan".

Hi DH, sorry for not being clear.
It works when I create the connection from that web part that you want to be connected with the Query String Filter Web part. So let's say you created a web part page. Then you could connect a parameterized Excel Workbook to an Excel Web Access Web Part
(or a Performance Point Dashboard etc.) and you insert it into your page and add
a Query String Filter Web Part . Then you can connect them by editing the Query String Filter Web Part but also by editing the Excel Web Access Web Part. And only when I created from the latter it worked
with multiple values for one parameter. If you have any more questions let me know. See you, Ingo

• Pop-ups for parameter value insertion don't appear

Hi,
I am using Web Intelligence for creating a report that allows custom parameter values to be inserted via pop-up.
The problem is such pop-ups for parameter value insertion don't appear on the various web browsers I make use of.
(I.E. versioni, Firefox versioni)
Any idea on how to solve such issue?
thanks in advance,
SC

I suppose that you mean query prompts, that are parameters that are asked to the user in order to filter the data.
Which version of BOE are you using?. If you are using BOE XI R2, that problem happens when you use Java 1.6 (only when editing the document), you should use Java <=1.5 (you can check the error in the java console while you execute the report).
I think that problem was solved in a SP (not sure which SP solves this ¿SP4?)

I tried to put an alias for sum(e.salary) function and it worked but i dont understand why it is required or is the problem somewhere else and why an alias is needed here ???Every column in a table or view must have a unique name. If you don't explicitly specify a name for the output column, Oracle will try to generate one based on the input expression. If the name does not follow the normal rules for identifiers (one of which is that the name can't contain special symbols, like parentheses) then the name must be enclosed in double-quotes.
Notice that these rules are a little different from the rules about result sets. In the result set of a main query, for example, column names do not have to be unique, and a system-generated name like 'SUM(E.SALARY)" is acceptable.
Actually the book hasnt specfied the need for an alias at this place ...so i wanted to know why am getting this error ..I can't see which book you're reading. Post a quote. If the book is available on line, post a link, too.

• Alias for Sender SOAP Adapter URL

When I create a web service for an o/b interface using the wizard, I need to give the URL of the pattern
http://<host:<port>/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?channel=<party>:<service>:

Looking at the URL, I think there is servlet that is processing the incoming SOAP messages based on the parameter (channel) and adding the SOAP Header for Sender Service, Sender Interface from that channel before sending it to IE.
Is there anyway to create aliases for these URLs so that I can have distinct URL for each interface eg. http://<host:<port>/DeliveryConfirmation, http://<host:<port>/InvoiceCheck etc?
I need to publish web services in custom-built UDDI tool which expects the URLs to be unique. (This uniqueness should not based on the parameter 'channel'). UDDI tool expects the part of the URL before '?' to be unique, which is not in my case. So, I'm thinking of aliases.
Did anyone create Alias for sender SOAP adapter URL?
I appreciate your inputs on this.
thx
praveen

Stefan,
Creating an alias like (http://<host:<port>/DeliveryConfirmation) for each web service makes the end Point URL (http://<host:<port>/DeliveryConfirmation?channel=<party>:<service>:
) unique and my custom-built UDDI server would allow it.
In this case, all the aliases would be for the same context path '/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet', right?
I see the following on the help page.
Prerequisites
You must first have the J2EE Web applications deployed so that their aliases are added to the list of available application aliases. Then you can decide which one to remove from it.
Do I need to deploy any J2EE Web Application here?
I'm thinking that since 'XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet' is already deployed, I just have to create a various aliases for it.
I highly appreciate your inputs.
thx
praveen

• How is the -gm parameter effecting query runtime in detail?

During test I found out, that the parameter -gm seems to have some dramatic impact onto runtime of queries. In Detail I found a something like factor 0.5 to 0.6 inside my tests for a smaller system:
-iqtc 12000
-iqmc 12000
-iqlm 1000
-gm 100
-m
-iqrlvmem 6000
When setting -gm 1001, runtimes for a single query goes up from about 10 to about 40s.
So how is the -gm parameter effecting IQ in detail?

When IQ starts it allocates threads based on the -iqmt parameter. If you don't set it, then it is computed as something like:
-- 60 threads for each core up to 4
-- 50 threads for each core after 4
-- number of connections (-gm option)
-- add 6 more just for good measure
Let's assume that your IQ instance has 16 cores and you have -gm set to 100 . IQ would allocate 946 threads (60*4+50*12+100+6). We have to add 1 more thread to this, too. Before we can allocate threads, we have 1 thread that is running to start the server.
On my 16 core system, here are the threads allocated at startup for various values of -gm:
-gn 10: 857 threads
-gn 100: 947 threads (notice the +1 from the above algorithm?)
-gn 1000: 1847 total threads
There are two major deductions from the thread total: IO threads and SA/user threads.
Of the threads, 40% are supposed to be held in reserve to handle IO tasks (sweeper and prefetch threads are set to 10% each and apply to main and temp cache) via the Prefetch_Threads_Percent and Sweeper_Threads_Percent options. I am double checking this area just to make sure. There was some work done on this in the v16 timeline.
For user threads, I don't see you having set -gn. Assuming that -gn is not set, then IQ will reserve 5 + -gm threads (105). Not a problem. IQ will grab 5 more threads than are allocated via the above algorithm, but that's OK.
Things go a bit wrong on you when your -gn is set to the recommended value of 1.5 * -gm. What happens is that we are computing the number of threads needed based on -gm (100 or 1000). However, we are actually allocating threads based on -gm (105, 1005, 150, or 1500 depending on the default or best practices used).
Imagine that -gn is set to 1.5x -gm. Of the 1847 threads allocated, 1500 are held in reserve for user connections. Read that as threads for the catalog only. There would be just 347 threads left over. But don't forget the IO threads either. Now all of a sudden there are no threads left for any work in IQ. We are thread starved. When IQ gets into a thread starvation mode, we have little or no threads left over to do work in IQ. At that time, we use the one guaranteed thread that each user connection has to do all work. This holds true for worker thread starvation as well as IO thread starvation.
One of two things is happening in your case. You are either thread starved and forced to run everything single threaded or your system has so many threads that it must spend too much time maintaining threads that are not being used.
If you can run sp_iqsysmon in '-debug' mode you can look at the "Thread Manager" section to check out the thread usage and allocations.

• Invalid value 0 for parameter login/password_chang

Hi experts,
When users log on with passwords the system checks whether the password needs to be changed.Possible reasons for changing the password are that it is set to initial or has expired. If the logon is through an SSO certificate, rather than through user/password query, parameter login/password_change_for_SSO is used to determine how the system should behave.Example: login/password_change_for_SSO=0 then the obligation to change the password is ignored.
However when we set the value to 0, we get the folowing error:
"Invalid value 0 for parameter login/password_chang"
Any ideia? We are using SRM 2007.
Thanks in advance,
Paulo Andrade

Hi,
old post, but I had the same problem. If someone has simular problems also, this may be helpful.
Setting vmin to 0, as Ricardo writes did not work for me, the field was clear after saving the record. But setting "VMIN SET" to "X" did resolve my problem.
Thank you for you suggestions.
Best Regards,
Edward

• Alias for Columns

Hello,
I am using Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.1.0.6.0.
I would like to have an Alias for my columns in a query.
The main column value is a date like 201204 the Alias which should appear as column heading when the query is run should be like Apr-2012
So I would like my output to be like
Apr-12 May-12 Jun-12
201204 201205 2012-06
I am using a query like
select '2001204'||' "'||to_char(to_date('201204','yyyymm'),'Mon-yy')||'"'
from dual;
This does not seem to give me the correct results. Am I doing something wrong ?
Thanks

fmThe names/datatypes/sizes and number of columns from a query is called the "projection" and is determined at parse time; therefore it cannot be determined by the data without using 2 passes of the data (one to determine what the projection should look like and a dynamic one to query the data again with that dynamically generated projection).
Essentially what you are trying to do is abuse the SQL engine, and it is really something that is best done by reporting tools that query the data and then process it to format the output based on the data itself.

• Can't use Bangla font in anti-alias "anti-alias for animation"....help needed!

Hi, the problem I am having with adobe flash pro cs6 is that I am trying to use Bangla font in flash. Although the font shows up but in anti-alias "anti-alias for animation" mode, the fonts become all scattered and disordered. But when I switch to "use device font", the work okay. But in using device font, I cant really use the subscript or superscript button. So then again I have to switch back to "anti-alias for animation". I am getting sick of it. Is there any way around it?
I have added an image for you to understand my query ............
Someone else "deval mistry" posted the same problem on Mangal font here.... https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1697054

I found an solution.
Uninstalling AirParrot as well as the two offending AirParrotDriver.kext and APExtFramebuffer.kext files in System>Library>Extensions was the fix. All problems disappeared.
