All email accounts disappeared

I have a bunch of email accounts on my Mac Mail. I had just sent off one, looked away, and all of a sudden all of my accounts disappeared! I kept looking for a way to open them - but nothing. And then I tried to reboot. As I was closing it down I got a "Panic Report" (see below) - and I TRULY was panicking! There's a lot more- but can anyone figure out what this is about? Did I get a virus?
I did disk utility opening from the disk, and it found no problems. It took me an hour to figure out how to get a genius appointment. (Only can be scheduled from the Apple Store App on my phone- whew!)
But I would love it if some Genius here can tell me what has happened?!!
I am so tired of being a Beta-tester for Mac's new updates. I SWEAR I will never update again until a YEAR has passed and all the problems have been worked out!
Thank you for any suggestions!
Lianda

  • Click on mail-mail opens and all emails there disappear

I know that there are emails on my iphone 4.
I click on mail, mail opens and all emails there disappear.

Is the account an Exchange account, a MobileMe account, or a Yahoo account that was created on the iPhone with the Yahoo account preset? If not, the account does not support Push access for received messages. Fetch only - automatically or manually.
If an account that supports Push access for received messages, who is the email account provider for the account? More than likely the problem lies there.
If the account does not support Push access for received messages - Fetch only, automatically or manually, try deleting and recreating the account on your iPhone.

  • How Do I Sync All Email Accounts and Mailboxes (including those I create)?

How do I Sync all email accounts in the OSX Mail Application and mailboxes(including those I have created), all using the .mac sync application . . . or is there a better way to sync information from my powerbook to my imac?
The problem: I am reading and sorting/organizing my emails on my powerbook when traveling, and then I come home to my imac and end up having to manually duplicate the work I just completed. Any easy way of truly syncing the information between computers? Pleae let me know. Thanks
What is meant by mailbox structures? For example: On my powerbook, I have 2 unread messages in one of my IMAP email accounts. I read both messages. I choose to move message A to a client mailbox that I created in the OSX Mail APPL and the other message B I leave as read in the inbox & respond with a sent email . Now I use the .mac sync app on the powerbook. Then I use the .mac sync app on my imac . . . . will the application not sync the same information/sorting/organizing/sent responces into the appropriate mailboxes? I'm so confused.
Also, what "mailboxes behavior" & "advanced" preferences should be checked with IMAP email accounts. All sorts of misc. mailboxes keep being created in the OSX Mail APP. when choosing different preferences. When selecting store on server (mailboxes created indicate: stored locally on computer). Again very confused.

The benefit of using an IMAP is keeping server stored messages synchronized when accessing the account with an email client such as the Mail.app on different Macs.
Messages in the Inbox mailbox for an IMAP type account are stored on the server by default which cannot be turned off.
With an IMAP type account, you can also store Drafts, Sent, Trash and Junk messages on the server which is available under the Mailbox Behaviors tab for the account preferences.
If you want to keep Sent messages synchronized with Mail on both Macs, you need to select "Store sent messages on the server" under the Mailbox Behaviors tab for the account preferences in Mail on both Macs.
I choose to move message A to a client mailbox that I created
in the OSX Mail APPL and the other message B I leave as read in
the inbox & respond with a sent email . Now I use the .mac
sync app on the powerbook. Then I use the .mac sync app on
my imac . . . . will the application not sync the same information
/sorting/organizing/sent responces into the appropriate mailboxes?
    I'm so confused.
Was this client mailbox created as an "On My Mac" location mailbox? If so, an "On My Mac" location mailbox is stored locally on the hard drive, not on the server so messages moved to such a mailbox will not be kept synchronized with Mail on both Macs. Transferring a message from the account's Inbox mailbox or from any server stored mailbox to an "On My Mac" location mailbox stores the transferred message locally on the hard drive and removes the message from the server at the same time.
When creating a mailbox, the default location is "On My Mac" which is stored locally on the hard drive. If you are accessing an IMAP type account, you can select the IMAP account via the location selection which will create the mailbox on the server and be available in Mail on the other Mac. Messages placed in a server stored mailbox will be kept synchronized with Mail on both Macs.

  • How to sync all email accounts AT ONCE in N8 Symbi...

    Hi to all
There is any way to sync all email accounts AT ONCE in Nokia N8 with Symbian Belle ?
Because syncing one by one is very unpleasant (I have 12 email accounts on my phone). Is there a way to sync all accounts at once?
    hank you for your attention

iSync does not synchronize mail at all, and .Mac Sync synchronizes only mailbox structures, rules, signatures and smart mailboxes, not mail content.
To 'synchronize' mail, you must use IMAP technology, as opposed to the far more common POP3 standard for incoming mailboxes. The OS X Mail program supports IMAP account creation, as do most electronic mail providers, including AOL and Yahoo. Notably, Google does not support IMAP with it's Gmail product: it's probably best described as a slightly whacky, non-standard POP3 offering, and is not a good choice if you want to 'synchronize' you mail among two or more clients.
This sort of POP3 vs IMAP and mail synchronization discussion occurs frequently in the Mail & Address Book forum, and there are several 'experts' there—listed typically in the Top Rated Members in Forum list in the right sidebar—who help users all the time. You can search the forum by subject or their user name, or browse and look for related subjects or their answers, to get a better idea of how to deal with these issues. You can find that forum here:

  • How to setup a catch all email accounts on a domain?

I am currently hosting several different domains on our server. On one of the domains, we would like to set up a catch all email account. Right now we have [email protected], and [email protected], but would like emails sent to any other address ('anything'@domain.com) to be directed to the [email protected] Is there a way to set up a wild card email address entry for a specific user account?

    Don't do this. Seriously.
Your wildcard account will get inundated with every dictionary-based spam directed at your domain.
Many spambots just try common names at every domain they can find - alex@, andrew@, joe@, john@, etc. sometimes generating tens of thousands of messages in the hope that one or two names match legitimate accounts.
If you setup a wildcard account, all these messages will be accepted and dumped into this mailbox. If you don't have a wildcard account the messages will be rejected with a 'no such user' error (or dropped silently, depending on your mail server setup).
If you really do want to do it, then you need to get under the hood and configure postfix manually (Server Admin won't do this for you). The specifics are covered in the Postfix virtual accounts documentation.

  • Using multiple email accounts, smtp from provider, sender's address is the same for all email accounts

    Ok
I'm sure this is an issue for many of us, but I cant find a solution for this on the net.
So I had set up multiple email accounts. My main account is gmail, but I'm using several others. The smtp server had to be the same which was from my ISP for all email accounts (apart from gmail which has it's own).
Now, when I send email from these accounts, the sender's address will always be ***@virginmedia.co.uk. Obviously, since thats what the smtp is for.
But what if I want to send emails from these accounts and want to be the sender accordingly? like ***@yahoo.com or ***@freemail.com etc...
Is there a way to get around these? If they dont have their own smtp servers? Or they can only be used to send emails through their web-based email page?
Hope it makes sense, sorry for my crap english.
    Thanks
    Daniel

Can you tell us which is the mail account ( hotmail, gmail or any personal)

  • Main admin + all other accounts disappeared!

    Hi,
I have been trying all afternoon to get my stepdad's computer to start. He tried to change his account password the other day but did not write it down and it's been impossible to start it ever since... (I know, its normal...)
Anyway so I got an Apple tech support on the phone earlier, who basically gave me the same directives I got from the site but I couldnt even get there (using the install disc to reset the admin password) since there was absolutely no account to be found when I clicked on the hard drive (not even "root")... so then the guy advised me to just reinstall the whole system (using the "archive" option though).. so I did and the only thing that changed was that the "root" user reappeared, but still no other account.....
How the **** can simply change a password result in all the accounts disappearing? Is there ANY way I can get the account back?? Or is my only option to reinstall the system entirely and lose the whole data in the process?
Thanks a lot for your help!
(Oh by the way, when I did reinstall using the archive option the Apple guy said I should get some kind of page before I got to the login window, where I could somehow create a brand new user, but I never got that page either)
Also, the computer is a 2006 15" MacBook Pro running 10.4.9
    PB G4, 15, 1,67GHz   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

Perform the instructions in sections 1 and 2 of this article; if you don't have a good backup or the issue persists, perform the instructions in sections 1 and 3, and then recreate your accounts in the order they were initially created. Neither set of instructions will delete your data. This issue is caused by a corrupt NetInfo database; in some cases, using the Reset Password function from the Mac OS X installation disks will corrupt that database for some reason. If you choose to preserve user and network data during the Archive & Install, the corrupted database will remain where it is.

  • How to check emails of all email account in one Inbox Folder?

I have more than one email account, If I setup my gmail, yahoo, Hotmail, ymail accounts in Mozilla Thunderbird Email Client, then I see separate inbox for each account, and to check email I have to go inbox of each account for checking email of that account.
Is it possible that I see all emails of my all email account in one inbox window, as well one sent folder for all email account, one spam / one trash / one delete / one important folders etc.... for all email account.
    pls adv.

    There is a quick method.
    * View >Folders > Unified.
This will show eg:One Inbox containing all account inbox emails. It will also show the various account Inboxes shown as sub folders, so that you can also see the various Inboxes individually.
If you have Pop mail accounts, then they can be amalgamated into one Local Folder Inbox.
Go into 'offline' mode - (do not synchronize - that is for IMAP accounts.) This stops any further downloading to Pop mail account.
You would need to move all of your emails into Local Folder Inbox and other Local Folder folders.
Then change the type of account.
    * Tools -> Account Settings -> Server Settings
    * click on the "Advanced" button.
    * select 'Global Inbox (Local Folders Account)'
    * click 'OK'.
Exit Thunderbird and restart before you download anything.
there are other options mentioned at this link, plus info on Global Account.

  • Will iCloud sync all email accounts connected to the mail application?

Will iCloud sync all email accounts connected to the mail application?

The questions on mail and MobileMe are ones that I have, too. But another question/issue that I have is the inability for my iPhone to separate calendars for me. I have 2 work calendars and one personal calendar. Plus I have a family calendar. I would really like to be able to look at my calendars on the iPhone and see what I have for personal, family and business. I was able to do this with my old Blackberry.
When I looked at the video for MobileMe, it seemed to accomplish this on the computer (mac or pc) but I don't remember seeing the iPhone give good distinction between different calendars (i.e. syncing different calendars or separating them by colors).
    Any thoughts?

  • Manual Sync of all email accounts on E6/Anna

    Hi,
i have multiple Email accounts on E6 with symbian anna and set them to only check email when I open the mailbox and hit Z (or press 'send and receive now').
Is there a way to do this for all email accounts without having to open each one of them?
On my old E55 there was an Option 'Synchronize all' in the Mail Application, which did exactly what i want. Havent found it on the E6 yet.
    Regads, peter

    Hi peterPio,
    Welcome to the Nokia forum.
To sync all your email accounts on your E6 you will have to enter every Inbox that you want to sync seperately and press sync. The option to 'Sync all' like the E55 is not included in the E6.
    Hope this clears things up.

  • Mavericks download froze all email accounts

Downloaded Mavericks and now all email accounts are frozen, mail is frozen.  All accounts are online and I can see my messages coming in, but I cannot access them at all.  Nothing works in mail. When I try to add accounts over again, it says this account is online.  When I try to change my account preferences, i cannot see my accounts on the left side, it is all jumbled and distorted.  Along with the mail issues, my MacBook is beyond slow.  I've tried restarting my computer, I've tried re downloading Mavericks, nothing is working.  Can anybody offer any ideas?
    Thank You.

    Russ,
Could be that the Property List file has gotten corrupted. Try the following:
    Close Mail
Move the file com.apple.Mail.plist from folder <home>/Library/Preferences to the Desktop
    Re-start Mail
Mail will behave as if it is a new installation so create your primary account.
Create any other accounts you have in the normal manner via Mail Preferences.
Your Messages are stored in the folder <home>/Library/Mail/Mailboxes and whatever structure you had in terms of folders and subfolders under the Mail window sidebar heading of "ON MY MAC" should be there.
If Mail has not already found those messages as a result of you re-creating all your email accounts then you can import them using the following method:
    Close Mail
Drag the folder <home>/Library/Mail/Mailboxes to the desktop
    Launch Mail
    Click File then Import Mailboxes
Click Mail for Mac OS X
    Click Continue
Select the folder you moved to the desktop
    Click Choose
    Click Continue
    Chris
