Allow editing of properties of multiple selected objects

Currently one cannot always edit properties of objects -- such as attributes for tags, or tooltips for form fields -- when multiple objects are selected. This occurs when some objects' properties have "conflicting" values. It would save TONS of time, if somehow you could allow edits to one property or attribute while leaving other conflicting properties "as is". I would also like to be able to add header ID attributes to multiple <TD> tags, without deleting header ID attributes already existing.

Are the machines causing this script to hang offline? You can test to make sure they are online before you try to connect

Using OMB scripting to set attribute properties in a data mapping sort of defeats the purpose of utilizing a graphical user interface to define and set properties for a data mapping? Surely the GUI data mapping tool was created to get away from writing scripts and scripting would also require that you know the name of the data mapping, table operator and the set of attribute names for which you have to write one line of script to set each property value, i.e. 90 lines to set 90 attribute values.

Gathering Properties from Multiple WMI Objects

So what I'm trying to do is pull an inventory of make, model, and serial numbers for a list of machines. I've only just gotten into Powershell as of last week so be easy on me.The problem I'm having is that it's only returning the last machine in the list
that I have, if anything. I can verify that all the machines are connected and that I have administrative access to all of them. Here is the code I have:

Setting property attribute values for multiple selected objects.

Is there an easy way to set the attribute property values for more that one selected Table Operator Attribute (column) at a time. For example the target table has over 100 columns but I only want to INSERT/UPDATE 10 of those columns. The generated MERGE, INSERT and UPDATE statements will perform DML on all of the columns in the target table, setting the 90 columns with no mapping set to NULL. This is due to the Loading Properties 'Load Column when Updating Row' and 'Load Column when Inserting Row' both default to Yes. I would like to select multiple Attributes in the Table Operator and change the 'Load Column when Updating Row' and 'Load Column when Inserting Row' to No. This is similar to what you were able to do in Oracle Forms 9.0 Designer select multiple Items in a Block and change the properties en-masse.

Holding shift key down for multiple selection of objects ?

Possibly me - but latest release of muse on my mac running OSx 10.8.5 now holding down the shift key and clicking doesn't seem to allow me to multiple select objects- works fine in illustrator and Indd , cant see a preferences check anywhere that i have missed - am I the only one with this issue ?

Multiple selections in an HTML form

The option selector (<select>...</select>) in an HTML form allows the
user to make multiple selections. However, when the form parameters
are posted to an XSQL page, only the first value selected will be
assigned to the corresponding XSQL parameter.
This is very unfortunate, because I would like the selected values to
be used in a query like this:
<xsql:query>
select ...
from ...
where ...
and elem in ({@list})
and ...
</xsql:query>
where 'list' is the name of the option selector. However, since only
the first value selected is substituted, the query does not work.
The <xsql:include-request-params/> will "rowify" the values selected,
but this can only be utilized by a style sheet associated with the
XSQL page.
Does anyone know how to get access to all the selected values in the
XSQL page?

Here is an approach that may work for you.
In the registration process, assign each individual a userid... e.g. bob123.
When they log into your site, create a SESSION variable, SESSION.userid = bob123.
In your db, for every player have two fields, one is the userid of the person that is attached to that player, and another field for the jersey number. You could also have a field for assigned/unassigned.
Populate the grid with the unassigned players. Have the empty jersey number field on the grid and make it editable. When an individual assigns a jersey number to the person, (you can have them update after each person selected or at the end), you can let a cfc update the db and using their SESSION.userid, they become the "owner" of that player. The update also will update the db with their jersey number. The update can also turn them from unassigned to assigned so noone else can "claim" them.
Now anytime the user logs in, they'll have their players, easy to get to using a WHERE sql statement = WHERE SESSION.userid = bob123.

I have a test report with department name as a parameter, hr.employees is the table.I checked the multiple selection for the parameter.When I choose one department name, the report runs well. But when I choose more than one department name, the report doesn't work.Seems the error is query's error. I have to edit query for the multiple selection? how to do it?Using dynamic where clause in the query?

the missing thing in your example is the fact, that if only one value is selected, the parameter has exact this value like BOSTON. If you choose more than one value, the parameter includes the *'*, so that it looks like *'BOSTON','NEW YORK'*. So you need to check in the package, if there's a *,* in the parameter or not. If yes there's more than one value, if not it's only one value or it's null.
So change your package to (you need to expand your variables)

JTree - multiple selection doesn't highlight tree nodes

I have a JTree which was working great with single selection of objects within it. Now i'm expanding this to work with multiple selected objects at the same time, but the objects are not visibly highlighted in the tree.
I switched to using DISCONTIGUOUS_TREE_SELECTION, and using setSelectionPaths(TreePath[]) instead of setSelectionPath(TreePath). This works fine, except that the newly selected paths don't visually highlight any more (worked fine with single selection).
I had thought that the RowMapper was the culprit, but the default VariableHeightLayoutCache seems to be in place and ok. What should i be checking to get this to work right?

Can I make the parameter supports multiple selection and editable at the same time?

I am building my report using SQL Server Report builder 3.0. All the parameters are added to the report
by the builder. When the user access the report by browser, he can change the parameter value and click "view report" button to load the report from the database.
For one of the parameter, I want to provide user the ability to select frequently used value as multiple
selection, and meanwhile let them able to edit the value if the preloaded selection doesn't contain what he wants.
Is it possible to archive this goal using report builder?

You cant have this functionality using standard report viewer. An approximate work around can be implemented as follows.
Have two parameters one based on your current parameter values (dropdown) and another one without any available values set and default set to NULL (Set Allow Null value property and pass Null as default value). This parameter will appear as disabled textbox
with NULL checkbox checked.
Now in your code behind which gives you first parameter's values Add one more value say <None Of Values> and set value as some default value (-1 if int or just a random string value).
Now in the value for second parameter set a expression like below
=IIF(Parameters!FirstParam.Value ="<Select None>","",Nothing)
This will make sure second parameter gets activated when you select option <none> from first. Then you can type the value you want in it
In query behind just make filter like below
WHERE field = CASE WHEN @Param1 <> '<None>' THEN @Param1 ELSE @Param2 END

Is it possible to select specific properties of multiple layers at once?

I know that you can alter, opacity for example, of multiple layers at the same time by selecting the opacity property of each layer. But what if there are so many layers that you want to select a single property of many layers at once?
For example, I want to edit the value of the "mask expansion" property of a lot of layers, but don't want to go through and select "mask expansion" on every single layer. Surely there must be a way to select specific properties across multiple layers?

No, unfortunately there isn't. Such stuff is based on the property control actually being visible and being equally visibly selected. Unless you linked it with expressions, it won't sync without the properties being revealed and selected.

Editing properties of multiple fields causes all fields to resize or shift position

While editing a form, if I select multiple text fields, right click, and select Properties, all the fields become the same size, or shift their position on the screen. It seems to repeat whatever operation you had previously done before, so for example, if you had previously aligned a couple text fields to the right, then it will do that for all fields. Or, if you had previously set the dimensions of a couple text fields to be the same height and width, then it will now do that for all fields.
The only workaround is to quit Acrobat and relaunch.
I would report this as a bug on Adobe's bug report form, but the web page is down.

I've suffered some issue like that but it was always related to GMPC and in which position it was. Seems that some apps don't resize well with awesome, so I think you should try to trace wich app breaks the resize

Allow multiple selections in 2nd box of cf_TwoSelectsRelated

Greetings. I'm very new to ColdFusion, so I apologize if this
seems like a no-brainer.
I've successfully used cf_TwoSelectsRelated to add related
selects to a form. I'm able to have a user select a school, and
have the second select box retrieve only the teachers that are from
that school. Now I'd like to allow multiple teachers to be selected
from the second list (to register for a workshop) and have them all
be inserted in my registration table as individual records.
I think I can figure out the second part of my task (insert
them as individual records) based on

a) try to edit the cf_TwoSelectsRelated custom tag (I think I
would need to know some JavaScript for that? yipe!)
or
b) do something to my existing code to allow the second
select to have multiple selections (but doesn't cf_select just
require that you specify in the attributes "multiple="true"? which
means I will probably need to edit the cf_TwoSelectsRelated custom
tag (back to *yipe*!)
Can anyone point me in the right direction? I've attached
cf_TwoSelectsRelated. Please let me know if you need me to supply
my code.

Thanks for this! Well, I went ahead and kept trying to figure
it out while I waited - I found and took a look at
cf_ThreeSelectsRelated and the third select box did indeed have a
"multiple" attribute - so I borrowed it and edited the
cf_TwoSelectsRelated (as attached - just added one line to the
attributes list and added one cfif to the cfoutput for the 2nd
select box), called it in the attributes of the
cf_TwoSelectsRelated tag call in my "add attendees" page - and it
seems to work great! No messing about with scary javascript needed.
*whew*
Now I just have to edit the code to allow it to insert each
set of id's as an individual record... but I think I can handle
that :)
Hopefully this will help someone who's wondering if this will
work. I couldn't find any reference to it anywhere!

Selection problem on click-to-edit multiple select table

We have a af:table with following properties:
- rowSelection="multiple"
- editingMode ="clickToEdit"
If you click on a row to select it, then scroll down so new data is being fetched, then press shift and click on an other row (to select multiple rows), only the last row is selected.
Did anybody have the same problem? How can it be fixed?

I've been looking into this issue.
If you click on the first row to select it, then scroll down to the last row so new data is being fetched, then press shift and click on an other row (to select multiple rows), only the last row is selected.
This behavior can be reproduced in a simple ADF Table based on the Employees Table.
In both 11.1.1.6 and 11.1.1.7 the first row and the last row are selected. All rows in between are not.
If you surround the table with a panelCollection, the footer of the panelCollection shows "1 row selected".
However, in getSelectedRowKeys() all keys are present. Looks like the rows are being selected but the UI does not reflect this !
Very annoying for end users.
If I change clickToEdit to editAll it works perfectly and all selected rows are highlighted.
The footer of the panelCollection shows "107 rows selected".
Looks like a bug right ?
