ALSB 3.0 - Form of URL to obtain Proxy Service WSDL changed?

A quick 'technical' question that seems too dumb to raise as a support call, but cant find any discussion or details in docs, release notes etc.
There might be some subtle default which has changed or I've done some thing different and I just can't find it - likely:).
QUESTION: Has the way in which the WSDL is requested from a (Proxy) Web Service changed.
IN ALSB 2.6 and earlier:
http://localhost:7501/service/EchoStringService?WSDL
would return WSDL
IN ALSB 3.0
the same (or similar form after recreating the above service in ALSB 3.0 ) returns:
Error 405--Method Not Allowed
From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
10.4.6 405 Method Not Allowed
The method specified in the Request-Line is not allowed for the resource identified by the Request-URI. The response MUST include an Allow header containing a list of valid methods for the requested resource.
Any advice would be appreciated
Thanks

Sorry, found the answer but forgot to update this thread.
The ?WSDL mechanism fails if Enforce WS-I Interoperability is true for the Proxy Service.
While BEA support (and the docs relating to this flag) say this is by design (Only POST not GET is supported by WS-I) personally it seems to me that this rule should apply to operation invocation not a metadata inquiry but there you go...

• ALSB 3.0: Problem with Nested Policies in Proxy Service WSDL

Hello,
I'm trying to implement client applications that consume Web Services.
In ALSB, i imported the WSDLs of the services, created business and proxy Services.
Creating web references in .NET and Netbeans is working well, as long as there is no security policy attached to the WSDLs of the proxy services.
When attaching a policy, ALSB nests it inside the WSDL:
<s0:Policy s1:Id="signMessage">
<wssp:Integrity SignToken="false">
<wssp:SignatureAlgorithm URI="http://www.w3.org/2000/09/xmldsig#rsa-sha1"/>
<wssp:CanonicalizationAlgorithm URI="http://www.w3.org/2001/10/xml-exc-c14n#"/>
<wssp:Target>
and references it, where i want it to have. in this case it's in the request of the service:
<s2:input>
<s4:body use="literal"/>
<wsp:Policy>
<wsp:PolicyReference URI="#signMessage"/>
</wsp:Policy>
</s2:input>
The problem is, that neither .Net (C#) nor Netbeans (Java) correctly import and handle these policies. .Net even mentions in the generated code that the "Policy" element was not handled. So when running my applications, i logically get exceptions that no credentials/tokens or else were delivered from the client side. In general the mentioned IDEs that i'm using support the configuration of those security issues. But when not correctly parsing the WSDL from the Service Bus, they don't work.
I tried many ways to dodge this problem, but without success.
Manually writing policy Statements into the WSDL files is not what i'm searching for as a solution. I want it dynamically.
I hope i could describe my problem clear enough and to get a possible solution.
Thanks

Firstly, there's no such thing as Apache 9.3, there's Apache 1 (and subversions) and Apache 2 (and subversions). Your error message -
Oracle-HTTP-Server/1.3.28Shows you're using Apache 1.3.28
Secondly, I'm confused by your comment -
I do not have Apache 9.3 or higher but I think oracle should offer this in its companion CDOracle does offer the Apache server, if you're saying you didn't get it from Oracle then where did your Apache server come from?
Thirdly, I notice from your config file -
ErrorLog "|E:\oracle\product\10.1.0\Companion\Apache\Apache\bin\rotatelogs logs/error_log 43200"That you're piping the logs through rotatelogs, are you sure the logfiles haven't just been renamed?

• How to form a URL dynamically in my portlet

hi all,
i have a requirement in weblogic portal 10.2,how do i form my URL dyncamically in my portlet which is as below
I have a requirement to dynamically form my URL. Further suppose I have a left navigation portlet which has 3 links and right navigation portlet should show the content for the respective links clicked on left navigation portlet.so in this scenario I need to dynamically create my url which I need to display on the right hand side portlet
Dynamic access to portlet B
Portlet A ------------------------------------------> Portlet B
The Url which has to be displayed on portlet B has to created dynamically in my portlet A,
i.e portlet A should dynamically access portlet B and the page of Portlet B which has to be displayed and create the URL,Once the URL is formed I should be able to access portlet B,
Portlet A ---> access Portlet B context ---> get portlet B context ----> get Portlet B output jsp page and hence form the url
Portlet A = (Portlet B context) + (get Portlet B output jsp page)
= Well formed URL of output jsp page which is in the right hand portlet B
If u have the source code pertaining to above/material.please share it with me.
Thanks

Henrik, the Java importer lets you call Java classes on the app server side - I think what Ali is trying to do is integrate on the client side.
If you want to add your own button then if you extend the standard Forms button in Java and then use this class name in the implementation class property then the Java for your button will be used instead of the standard Forms button. And since it has extended the basic Forms button it has all the standard button functionality.
There is a white paper on OTN about this and we have created a new white paper which will be out in a couple of months (I think).

go into the form and under the distribute tab, you will find the form specific URL.

• Calling Webservice from Adobe form - Webservice URL Issue

Dear Friends,
I have developed a webservice and calling it from an Adobe form. I have downloaded the WSDL file from tcode SOAMANAGER. When I create a data connection from the Adobe form I use this WSDL file and the form elements gets created automatically and I drag and drop them into the form. The issue is when I click on the Submit(Execute) button the Webservice URL is always pointed to the client from where the file was downloaded and its hard-coded ( for example if i download the wsdl file from client 300 then the URL would be http://<location>/sap/bc/srt/rfc/sap/z_web_getmat/300/z_web_getmat/z_web_getmat). So if i execute the form from client 200 its not working. How to make this URL dynamic so that the webservice gets executed from the client from where this form is called. Please advice.
Regards
Sapient

Hi,
You have to handle it in your form on submit button calling the web service:
Write below java script code at submit event to change the URL at run time:
var tempsoapAddress = xfa.connectionSet.DataConnection.getElement("soapAddress").value;
var tempwsdladdress = xfa.connectionSet.DataConnection.getElement("wsdlAddress").value;
var ServerPath = body.systemConfig.system.rawValue;
var client = <Get Client from a data attribute>
var Soap_PreServerPort = "http://";
var Soap_PostServerPort = "/sap/bc/soap/rfc?sap-client=";
var SoapAddress = Soap_PreServerPort + ServerPath + Soap_PostServerPort + client ;
var Wsdl_PreServerPort = "http://";
var Wsdl_PostServerPort1 = "/sap/bc/soap/wsdl11?services=ZBAPI_PO_CREATE2&sap-client=";
var wsdlAddress = Wsdl_PreServerPort + ServerPath + Wsdl_PostServerPort1 + client ;
xfa.connectionSet.DataConnection.getElement("soapAddress").value = SoapAddress;
xfa.connectionSet.DataConnection.getElement("wsdlAddress").value = wsdlAddress;
xfa.connectionSet.DataConnection.execute(0);
xfa.connectionSet.DataConnection.getElement("soapAddress").value = tempsoapAddress;
xfa.connectionSet.DataConnection.getElement("wsdlAddress").value = tempwsdladdress;
xfa.connectionSet.DataConnection = null;
Change the variable wsdlAddress as per your requirement. The above code is just a sample.
For getting the client pass it in a datasource variable attribute at time of downloading the form. At time of submit get the value of that variable and use it to form the url.

• How to debug a form module (Oracle 11G Forms) through URL

How to debug a form module (Oracle 11G Forms) through URL.
My server OS is Unix. So i could not able to do the Debug Forms from the Form Developer.
It is displaying a message that "Cannot find the module". Becuase the system is trying find out the module in Unix system instead of ma local system(Windows).
I need to debug ma module through URL.
I can place the fmb and fmx in predefined form path in Server.
Please help me out to solve this issue..

This is a little unclear. If your goal is to use the Forms Builder Debugger while running your form on a Unix machine, this can be done. However, the form must first be in running order. So before trying to attach the debugger you must first be able to start it without the debugger. For example:
http://yourServer:OHS_port_number/forms/frmservlet?form=yourFMX
Once this is properly running you can turn on debugging. If your form won't even start, then using the Debugger isn't going to help you because it is designed to troubleshoot coding problems and not configuration problems.
So, do this to use the Debugger:
http://yourServer:OHS_port_number/forms/frmservlet?form=yourFMX&debug=yes
This will display a dialog box with some information. Do not click on OK yet as you will need this information to enter into the Forms Builder. Now, open the Forms Builder and click on Debug > Attach Debug. You will be asked for the information displayed in the dialog where you attempted to start the form. Enter it here (in the Builder) then click on ok in both places. To display the Debugger (in the Builder), click on Debug > Debug Console. Then from its toolbar click on the buttons related to what you want to monitor. Including a break point in your application code is often a more helpful way to use the debugger.
Most of this information is explained in the Forms Builder Online Help
Forgot to mention...
To debug runtime issues, refer to the Forms Deployment Guide here (this assumes you are using 11.1.2):

• Distinguishing between Form and URL variables

My mind isn't working like it should today, but what I am trying to do is:
1) alter a page via passing a argument in the URL
2) store this in a hidden field within the form on the page
3) retrieve the hidden field when the page is refreshed or in this case manipulated again for printing.
Basically, I have a report screen that allows the user to toggle between paging 1 page at a time or show all pages. If they click for all pages I pass a variable (allPages), and store it in a hidden field (allPages). Now if the user presses the "Print" button I reload the page stripping out form elements and put in Page breaks so that the report prints fairly nicely. Whats not working is my ability to differentiate between the parameter passed in the URL and the parameter contained within the form.
I am currently able top get the URL passed parameter via:
request.getParameter("allPages")
Is there a way to check for the form element, if it exist then use it else check for the URL passed parameter, or default it.
Thanks in advance.

I wonder, why you didn't use two different name for the parameter via URL and via Form, so your program should can easily distinguish where come from where, am I right?
The other way, you may check the method, whether it is "post" or "get", the get method is what you said as via URL and post normally use by form. But I think, it is better use two different parameter for Form and URL.

• Appending param value to the netui:form action URL

Hi there,
I have got very simple problem.
I want to add 'dummyParam=dummyVaule' as a query string to the 'URL' whenever
NETUI form data is posted using submit button.
I have tried <netui:parameter> but it did not work.
I have the following snippet of code
<netui:from action="updateDetails">

Hello Jonathan,
How are you generating the form action URL for the Struts portlet now? You should be able to include any parameters you want in the URL at that time.

• How to invoke ALSB proxy service externaly

Hello,
I.m trying to understand the ALSB and stumble across an issue and hope one of you guys (from BEA) can help out?
I've created the services from the Mortgage services tutorial successfully and now I'm trying to invoke the proxy services externally. By externally I mean as a partner link from within Oracle BPEL. So far this does not work. The error message states a missing protocol in the service URL. I checked this and it is true: the wsdl of the proxy service contains only a relative path (/loan/gateway1), so the protocol and server name and port are missing. Further, I tried to change the URI of the proxy service, but ALSB does only allow a relative URI.
My question is: what am I missing so the proxy service can be invoked externally?
I am on the right solution path to invoke a proxy service instead of a business service, right!?
Thank in advance.
Regards,
Harm Verschuren

I tracked down the problem. The proxy service and the business service it routes to use rpc encoded. The RPC encoded message comes to the proxy service from BPEL which transmits it without modification to the business service. The WLS web service that impements the business service is unable to decode the message persumably because it did not like the way BPEL encoded the message. Below is the message part that BPEL sent: All the xsitype attributes are part of RPC encoding.If you use the alsb test console to pass this message directly to the business service, you will see the decoding error thrown by wls.

• Invoking a WS from BPEL - WS URL is hardcoded in the WSDL

I have published a PL/SQL package as a webservice and deployed it successfully to a development instance (say DEV).
I created a BPEL process and used a Partner Link to invoke the above web service. When I deploy the BPEL process to the DEV instance, it works fine. However when I deployed the above WS and BPEL process to another instance (say TEST), the BPEL process still calls the WS in the original (DEV) instance. I verified by invoking the WS in the TEST instance and it is working fine.
When I created the partner link in the BPEL process, I had to provide the actual WS url from the DEV instance and it created the WSDL for me. This probably is causing the issue as the DEV WS url is hardcoded in the WSDL. However I do not know how to provide the WSDL in the partner link so that url/server name is not hardcoded.
Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

SOA Suite - 10.1.3.4
Thanks.

Naren,
Thanks for looking into this.
Yes, the web service is calling a packaged procedure which is available in both the environments. This web service is independent and may be used by other BPEL processes or other applications too.
I developed the WS & BPEL process in the dev environment and then deployed to the TEST environment. I did not make any changes to the BPEL & WS before deploying to TEST. The only change I did after deploying the WS to the TEST environment is to map the jndi.
I am not calling the package directly -- I want to consume the WS.
I am not sure about the Composite? Is this something in SOA 11g? I am still on SOA 10.1.3.4
Is this helpful? Did I answer your questions correctly?
Thanks again.

I have just upgraded to the icloud and now I am getting an error message on ical - saying "make sure the URL is correct", I haven't changed anything so why is it now an issue? any ideas?
The full message sasy "The calendar https:// cal.me.com:8443/principas/users/(server number) was not found on the server. Make sure the URL is correct.

10.6.8 cannot access iCloud's facilities - you can set Mail up manually and there is a hack which some people have used to sync calendars (see below) - you cannot sync any other type of data.
This is the situation with iCloud and Snow Leopard:
Your email, calendars, and 'Find my iPhone' will be migrated to iCloud. Contacts and Bookmarks cannot be migrated from a Snow Leopard Mac.
Your iDisk, together with website hosting and Gallery, will continue to work as before until next June.
Syncing of Dashboard Widgets, Dock Items and Keychains between Macs, and Mail Accounts, Mail Rules, System Preferences, Signatures & Smart Mailboxes between Macs & iOS devices, will cease altogether.
You will be able to access email and calendars on the iCloud website at http://icloud.com provided your browser is reasonably up-to-date.
You will not be able to sync contacts or bookmarks from a pre-Lion Mac.
You will be able to enter the server settings for email manually in the Mail application and access your email.
You will not be able to sync your calendars directly.
Some people have been able to set up calendar syncing by using the method detailed here - this is an unsupported hack and may not be reliable, and may stop working at some future point. BusyCal is an iCal-like calendar application with extra facilities: it can sync with the iCloud Calendar while running on Leopard, Snow Leopard or Lion.
There appears to be no method of syncing contacts (though Address Book on a Mac can be synced with Google or Yahoo address books - I don't know how reliable this is).

• WSDL URL is invalid or the WSDL file is not valid or incorrect

Hi All,
I am using Oracle Soa Suite 11g. I have got Oracle database, Oracle weblogic admin server, Oracle SOA server all installed on my laptop.
I have deployed a sample BPEL process. When I am trying to test the process it is giving an error
"Either the WSDL URL is invalid or the WSDL file is not valid or incorrect. - WSDLException: faultCode=PARSER_ERROR: Failed to read wsdl file at: "http://KSNPavan-PC:8001/soa-infra/services/default/MyHumanWorkFlowSample1Project/vacationrequestprocess_client_ep?WSDL", caused by: java.net.ConnectException. : java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect "
Now, when I change the url address to
"http://localhost:8001/soa-infra/services/default/MyHumanWorkFlowSample1Project/vacationrequestprocess_client_ep?WSDL"
(Please note the difference in host name from KSNPavan-PC to localhost.)
and click parse wsdl it is working well. I mean the test page is opening successfully and I am able to test the service.
Testing the service from admin console is fine. Now I want to use this BPEL process service in another BPEL process. So, when I am piciking this service wsdl in JDeveloper it is throwing me the same error and I am unable to go ahead.
Can anyone please tell me whetherI have to set property in the admin server console so that it always take local host in all the wsdl urls and solve my problem.
Thank you,
KSN Pavan.

Hi All,
My problem has got solved with the help of my colleagues. Actually the problem was that the host name KSNPavan-PC is not there in the C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts file. I Added the host name in the file with the IP same as that of local host and everything isworking well now.
Thank you,

Hi Jan,
We had the same issue in 11.1.1.3 and we used to restart the server to fix it. Hopefully before going to PROD we upgraded to 11.1.1.5 and next time we saw this issue was only when there was some problem with the OHS (it was down etc.).
Which version you're on?
