ALV report shows fixed number of columns for a user ?

Hello,
I have an issue wherein I have created an ABAP ALV grid display in a WD ABAP application and hosted it onto portal. Now, all the users can see the correct number of columns for the report which are determined dynamically. But just for one user, irrespective of which report she launches it shows her only 4 columns.
Can anybody suggest why this kind of behavior.
Appreciate your help.
Regards,
Samta.

Hi,
Right, click the button "manage layout" or "save layout" and remove any default user settings...
added: didn't read carefully sorry ;)... better check user settings in SU01 if no ALV parameter is used.

  • Alv report with varying number of columns

    hi all,
I am new to abap. I am writing this to get a brief idea of what i wanted to do in system.
I have to do a report using alv.  The format of the report looks like this.
    acc no     acc. name     amt_sum_april   amt_sum_may   amt_sum_june. ............. total_months
the colum amt_sum_ depends on user input period(month interval).
if the user selects 4 to 6 = 3 columns ,if the user selects 4 to 10 = 7 columns
    so on.......
Anyone have idea how to do it, because in the
initial structure or itab, the number of columns depends on the user input.. i am stucking here ...
    pls help.
    thanks and regards
    jose

    Hi friend,
It's very complicated to do that, I'm sure there's a way to do it but I really don't know it. Once I had a similar requirement and I did something else that solved my problem without making a fussy complicated code. I added a colum MONTH or PERIOD (depending on your requirement) and then I make a subtotal by that column. So you need:
    acc no acc. name amt_sum_april amt_sum_may amt_sum_june. ............. total_months
    Now you would have:
acc no acc. name    month     amount
In the SORT table, in the sorting condition by MONTH you specify SUBTOTAL = 'X'. So the output will be:
acc no acc. name    month     amount
    123123        John      2            100.00
    123124        Paul      2            200.00
    Month  2                                300.00
    123123        John      3            300.00
    123124        Paul      3            400.00
    123125        Jane      3            100.00
    Month  3                                 800.00
    123123        John      4            123.54
    Month   4                                123.54
    Total                                      1223.54
You can change the subtotal text for a more adequate one (if you want). Also if you only need the subtotals you can specify in the layout that only those lines are to be output.
I hope I've helped, I you have any question let me know!

  • Is there a report showing all the DDL objects for one APP?

    Hi,
Is there a report showing all the DDL objects for one APP?
I need to move an app to my workspace. The workspace I need to move it from has approx 20 applications in it, thus all the tables, procedures, etc are too many.
    What way is the easiest?
I've looked at exporting the DDL and the app. and look to see what the app needs. But it has many pages.
    Thank you, BillC

  • KSB1 Suppressing Columns for Certain Users

I would appreciate your help on an issue we are facing probably related to simple user settings. KSB1 shows or supresses columns for different users applying the same variant or Layout. A Material or Material Description column for example, is not even available to be selected for some users while it is for others. Thank you in advance for the support.

    Hi,
In save layouts try to save default settings instead of user-specific . so that the layout changes you can see in all the users.

  • Appointments are showing off by one hour for Yahoo users

Ok, I know there have been a few responses to this, but none seem to fit the exact issue I am having, so I'm going to ask again.
I have two users in particular, one on Outlook 2010 and one on Outlook 2013. They have hosted Exchange, and the Exchange server is 2007. The Exchange host provider is located in the Central Time Zone. Computers for my users are all set to correctly to Eastern
Time Zone. Windows 7 and 8.1 machines with all updates installed are what the users are using. I also logged into the hosted OWA option and set the time zone to EST there as well.
When I send an invite from Outlook 2010 user to another Exchange server, meeting time in the email invite BEFORE accepting shows the correct time zone for that user, and stays correct when accepting. When I send an invite to Gmail, again, shows
correct time before and after accepting. When I send to a Yahoo account, it shows the time one hour behind before accepting - essentially shows the CST time. Once I accept the meeting in Yahoo, it shows the correct time in the Yahoo calendar, but the email
with the invite still shows the wrong time, one hour earlier. And obviously if the user doesn't accept the invite but just uses it as a guide, they will show up one hour earlier.
Is this an issue for Yahoo, or Exchange 2007? It might be possible to move my client from Exchange 2007 to 2010 or 2013, but I don't want to do that if it won't fix the problem.

Should be an issue with the time zone settings on all Outlook clients involved.
Has Gmail/Yahoo account mentioned here been configured into Outlook clients?
If you are using Outlook 2010 you need to use a time zone with the correct DST settings for your location. If your location does not observe DST, do not choose a time zone that does then deselect the option to automatically update for daylight saving time.
You need to use a time zone that does not observe DST.

  • After a quiz can you show the questions and answers for the user to review from passing the quiz

After taking a quiz, is there a way to show the questions and answers for the user to review from passing the quiz.
And the ones who has failed the quiz would be directed to the first slide again to take the quiz over.
    Thanks

    Rod
I see that information about adding the review quiz button but on that last slide where it shows results, I want it jump back to slide 1 but it jumps to the first question of the slide. Is there a way around that?

  • Report dont show decimal number in BPC for Excel

    Hi expert,
I want to show in a report drag and drop with two rows (account + User definer Dimension) and one column (time), numbers with decimal extension. I input values with that format and when i look the database, this values appears with same extention altough, when i open a report, values showing like integer (i mean if the number was 2.86 show 3) and try to change the format of excel to show decimal, but the values still integer. In the dimension account, i put this format "#.##0,00" on the FORMAT dimension property but its still show integer.
Im shure its not a excel problem,  any idea?
    thanks in advance

    Hi,
The detected problem in that case is that the rounding value conversion routine is not working property. Reason might be with your SQL Server Installation. If you have installed SQL Server in Spanish then changes are there for this problem and it is due to regional numbering format symbols for decimals(In English we use '.' for decimal where as in Spanish '<' will be used)
If the problem is due to this reason you need to Install SQL Server in English. Hope this helps you.

  • Maximum number of columns for a SQL report

I am trying to pull a single report for approx 180 - 360 columns per row from a table with 30 columns (6 to 12 months data). The report is then to be exported to csv and then merged into a Word document. Due to the limitation of 100 columns in html db this cannot be done.
We cannot merge direct from the database. Is there another method to get data into Word or out of the database that I have not thought of?

    Hi Arvind,
You are correct in saying that only 50 columns can be shown in the BW report at a time. It will allow you to place more than 50 fields in the query definition but the query will not execute.
If you want to show more than 50 columns, you can add those extra columns in the FREE CHARACTERISTICS of the query definition. So at the time of execution of the query user will see the 50 columns by default and if he wants to see those additional columns, he can replace the already existing columns by the fields in the free characteristics. This can be achieved by DRILL DOWN and DRILL ACROSS.
This is the way to go about it. We also did the same thing in our case.

  • Maximum Number of Columns for Control Break on APEX Reports

    Hi
I'm new to APEX. I just want to ask if the number of maximum columns for control break in Reports can be adjusted? I have noticed that it can only handle up to six columns for Control Break, I just want to know if it can have more than six columns.
    Thank you very much.

Are you sure it's the number of columns? It may be one of the columns that is causing this problem.

  • Report with indefinite number of columns

    Hello,
I'm using VB.NET and Crystal Reports 2008 for my Windows application.
I've a new report to implement. It's a budgetting report in a table form, which shows the amount of money allocated to a certain projects over a range of years. In each row I show the different projects, in each column I show the budget of each project per year. Users can select the number of years to print (as a parameter), that means, the number of columns is dynamic.
My question is, how am I going to design this report? Will cross-tab help? My report will be in landscape format. The page width is enough for 8 columns, i.e. 8 years can be printed per table. If users choose to print more than 8 years, the "extra" columns should be printed on a new table underneath the one with the first 8 years, or on a new page if there's not enough space underneath.
Your help and suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you very much.
    Agnes

use conditional supressions on the fields in the colums so based upon parameter selection it will display what is shown
insert a section below the other and then use the conditional supression based upon the selection of 8+
cross tabs have limitations and are hard to read.
