the above formula works just fine.... but I want to show the actual start date referenced in nameadd.start date at the end of the text, which grows and shrinks.... but I cannot figure out how to add this, since it keeps telling me it should be a string???
this is what I tried and does not work:
if (CDateTime (2007, 07, 31, 00, 00, 00)-{Nameadd.Start Date})<365 then "Annualized since Inception - " + {Nameadd.Start Date} else "Since Inception - " + {Nameadd.Start Date}
How can I add my datetime field to end of the resultant text? should be easy, but I cant get it.

I am getting one of those weird error messages, indicating a " number, currency amount, boolean, date, time, date time, or string is expected here"

Volume, Dissolves, 50% - An easy one for most of you I'm sure.

Hi everyone. First time poster here. I hope someone can help me out. I'm a wedding videographer.
I need to know a few things that will speed up the process of editing a little bit. I'm editing SD footage with Final Cut Pro on a fast G5.
I have 30 four-second clips on the timeline and I want to reduce the volume on all of the clips to -12 in one go. Is this possible? I don't want to have to keep on doing them all manually together?
Let's say I have a similar sequence of shots later on in the timeline. This time, I want to make all of the short clips a speed of 50%, in one go, instead of having to do it all manually, one by one. It's very time-consuming this way. Well, it takes two minutes, but I'd rather not do it.
Also, if there are simple one or two second dissolves between all of these short clips -- how do I go and take away all of the dissolves in one go, so it's just straight cuts?

I did this and it's selecting ALL of the dissolves on the timeline. I wasn't thinking that far ahead.
I'm doing a highlights sequence at the end of a wedding DVD with footage that is copied and pasted into the end of the timeline from elsewhere in the project. This is the reason why I want to get rid of the dissolves and other transitions, so I can start editing this piece fresh. I suppose I could open a new timeline and do it in that.
I need ALL of the transitions to go, if possible, including Dip to Color Dissolves etc. If it's not possible to do all of the transitions in one go, I can do it in two. However, I'd like to be able to do all of this on the one timeline. For example, if I do it the way you said above, I will end up deleting previous dissolves in the timelines (during the speeches, dancing, ceremony etc).
Any ideas? Anyone? Thanks!

Working with Images, easy for most of you, not me

Ok, here's the deal.
I'm trying to get Automator to do a bunch of stuff to certain images I import, and I think I have most of it.
There is just 2 things I don't know how to do.
1. I want the largest dimension of the image (either height or width, depending on the image), to be 650px. Right now I have the command doing that as the Preview command for Scale Images set to Resize to 650. Is that right? Or will it always do width?
2. I want to change the resolution of the images to 144ppi. Is there a command for this?

We use an Airport Extreme in my office, which works fine for me. Occasionally we need to have more than one computer running on it, but for some reason it won't connect to the internet. It says we have internet, but won't connect to wifi. What's going on?

I use my computer everyday in our office and have no issue connecting to the internet/wifi, but when my boss comes in and tries to connect it doesn't work. It tells her she has internet, but won't connect to the wifi. We've tried a few different tactics(the basic ones I've seen on here), but nothing seems to be working for us. My computer automatically connects to our wifi.
Just recently the Airport Extreme has started with the blinking amber colored light on the front, which I believe means something is wrong? Can anyone help us figure out what's going on and why we can't get my boss' computer to connect as it should?

Here's an update:
Now the light is not blinking. It's a solid, consistant green. I don't know if it helps to narrow it down or anything, but I just figured I'd mention it.

You have to delete the old account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use. If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

This is the error message I get saying the internet is not on, but clearly as I can send this message it has to be:
To open “Java Preferences,” you need to install a Java runtime, but you are not connected to the Internet.
I am connected through Wi-fi if that makes a difference.

The app is probably purchased with your sister's Apple ID.
Re-download with your own Apple ID.

Visibility formula for checking on two fields for deciding on visibility of row

I have a row that has groups in it where I need to check for Risks and Issues availability and if both are not there, make the row invisible. If either of them or both are there, go ahead and display. I have the following expression for one of
them and it works for the risk group but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to check for both risk and issue fields; have tried many different possibilities but it keeps telling me the syntax is invalid. Any ideas would certainly

worked.

Easy for you but hard for me

I am sure this will be a simple issue for you, but I am not an experienced Oracle person. I run SQL reports from an Oracle database every night for work. Now my bosses have put a large LCD monitor on the production floor and want the data from the Oracle DB to be shown on the monitor. They would like it presented in easy to read graphs or something that can be understood by a non technical person. The data must update around every 15 minutes. As I said, I have the SQL scripts already and I am wondering if there is an application I can use to do this sort of thing. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Just took my vintage 2009 Macbook pro that was having trouble running Lion back down to Snow Leopard. (formatted drive and reloaded SL) How do I get iPhoto, Garage Band, Imovie etc.... in other words the apps that came installed on my 2009 machine when I bought it. They aren't part of the SL install.
No need to be concerned about my user data/settings/other apps etc... I migrated them over to a new Macbook pro I just purchased using a Time Machine backup. (worked wonderfully) but as I'm sure you know moving anything from a Lion TM backup to a SL machine isn't possible. I've heard there are ways but it's complicated and well all I really want is my 2009 machine to be like it was new and I'll I need for that is what I believe is the iLife stuff (again iPhoto, Garageband, iMovie etc...)

Thanks for the quick reply wjosten! I didn't get any disks with my computer. I bought it new from the online apple store.. I still have the original box it came in, user guide etc...it came loaded with Leopard but no disks. I had the SL disk as I purchased it to upgrade ( I know I could have downloaded it for free but I wanted a disk for the exact reason as for how I just used it to reinstall SL in case I needed to someday). In fact, I just bought a 2012 MacBook Pro, picked it up at my local Apple store and it did not come with any disks, same as before, it came with power cord, user guide, cleaning cloth, but no disks. I can understand that apple saves money, time, resources and environmental material by not including disks, but they should make it easy to download these things when you are in trouble and not charge even a small fee. I paid for these apps and merely want to reinstall them on the same machine they orignally came with.

Warranty and Support are only valid in the country of origin. You will need to take the device to whatever country it originally came from.
Apple will not accept shipments from outside the country nor will they return it to an address outside the country.
