An import updates a date datatype column to sysdate

Hi
I couldn't find anything on this issue in the document.
I did an export of the data of table1 from database A, in table1 I have a column called CREATEDATE and it has a DATE datatype. When I imported it into database B, all rows now have the current SYSDATE in the CREATEDATE column instead of the original content as on db A.
Any clues why an import would treat a DATE column like that? and how I can maintain the original content on an import for a DATE type field???
I do not have a sysdate as the default value for the column.
Your help is appreciated!

Sounds like you have a trigger firing. Triggers will fire during an import unless you disable them first. Try disabling all triggers on the tables being imported and see if that eliminates the problem.

  • How to compare the date value with the date datatype column?

    Hi,
    I am executed a query to get output for the particular date in two different database.
    I got output in one db environment, but in the another environment i didnt get the output.
    APP_DECISION_DATE column contains date datatype
    ex:

  • Automatic remote key updation in data manager after a data import.

    Hi experts,
    I'm using SAP MDM 7.1 SP10 and after I do a data load via import manager my remote keys of lookup tables are updated. Before load.
    After load.
    I want to understand if its noramal SAP behaviour or not. If yes, how can i avoid this.
    Thanks and regards

    Hello Ravi, I just want to leverage Shamit question :
    I noticed the same behavior after the key mapping enable and the problem is : every time I import a file via Import manager now, when I check my mapping, sometimes a supplier that does not exist in my file is mapped with a different one from MDM. Previously the key mapping property was enabled, if this situation occurs  in my import, as the supplier is a key in my map, this field would not be mapped and I had to correct my file or include this supplier in the database. Now, this became dangerous, as my import can map wrong information. Do i have another option to syndicate only changed records, without enable the key mapping ??? Example : use the selection Criteria in syndicator.

  • To show Last Update Date(Date datatype) as per User Preferred TimeZone

    VO RuleSetVO.xml has a timestamp attribute LastUpdateDate.In UI,this VO is shown in table format and the last update date is shown in date format and there is QBE filter enabled on it.
    As there is a QBE enabled on last update date and our filltering view criteria requires a date attribute,we have made use of a transient date datatype attribute LastUpdateDateQBE which gets the value from the LastUpdateDate in VOrowImpl and LastUpdateDateQBE (date attribute) is shown in UI.
    Now,we have a requiement to show the date in UI in user preferred time zone instead of DB server timezone.
    Any pointers to the solution??
    Note:
    1.LastUpdateDateQBE is a date attribute,cannot use <timeZone="#{applCorePrefs.UPTZ}"/> as this doesnt hold good on date attribute
    2.There might be differences between the DB server timezone and the timezeone in which the database records are stored i.e both might not be in sync always.

  • On deleting an item "Name" column of recycle bin is updating with data in one of the custom column instead of title field in SP 2013 Custom list

       On deleting an item, "Name" column of recycle bin is updating with data in one of the custom column instead of title field in SP 2013 Custom list.
    Thanks, Chinnu

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you want to update title field in recycle bin with other field value of the item.
    We can use the ItemDeleting Event Receiver to achieve it.
    While item is deleting, replace title field value with other field value using ItemDeleting event receiver, then in the recycle bin, the title value will replace with other field value.
    However, there is an issue while restore the item from the recycle bin, the item title would be replaced.
    As an workaround, we can create a helper field in the list to store the title field value while deleting, then replace back while restoring using
    ItemAdded Event Receiver.
    I have made a simple code demo below to achieve this scenario, it works like a charm(the
    Test2 field is the helper field, you can hide it in the list), you can refer to it.
    public override void ItemDeleting(SPItemEventProperties properties)
    properties.ListItem["Test2"]=properties.ListItem["Title"];
    properties.ListItem["Title"]=properties.ListItem["Test1"];
    properties.ListItem.Update();
    base.ItemDeleting(properties);
    /// <summary>
    /// An item was added.
    /// </summary>
    public override void ItemAdded(SPItemEventProperties properties)
    base.ItemAdded(properties);
    properties.ListItem["Title"] = properties.ListItem["Test2"];
    properties.ListItem.Update();

  • Update LONG datatype columns

    Can anyone point me to a description on how I can update a column of datatype LONG.
    I will be using a stored procedure/cursor and need to be able to append a string variable to the end of a LONG datatype column that will have other text.
    Thanks in advance,
    Miller

    The use of LONG has several limitations. Please refer to the SQL Reference for details.
    http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B10501_01/server.920/a96540/toc.htm
    From the documentation:
    You can reference LONG columns in SQL statements in these places:
    n SELECT lists
    n SET clauses of UPDATE statements
    n VALUES clauses of INSERT statements
    The use of LONG values is subject to some restrictions:
    n A table cannot contain more than one LONG column.
    n You cannot create an object type with a LONG attribute.
    n LONG columns cannot appear in integrity constraints (except for NULL and NOT
    NULL constraints).
    n LONG columns cannot be indexed.
    n A stored function cannot return a LONG value.
    n Within a single SQL statement, all LONG columns, updated tables, and locked
    tables must be located on the same database.
    LONG columns cannot appear in certain parts of SQL statements:
    n WHERE clauses, GROUP BY clauses, ORDER BY clauses, or CONNECT BY clauses or
    with the DISTINCT operator in SELECT statements
    n The UNIQUE operator of a SELECT statement
    n The column list of a CREATE CLUSTER statement
    n The CLUSTER clause of a CREATE MATERIALIZED VIEW statement
    n SQL functions (such as SUBSTR or INSTR)
    n Expressions or conditions
    n SELECT lists of queries containing GROUP BY clauses
    n SELECT lists of subqueries or queries combined by the UNION, INTERSECT, or
    MINUS set operators
    Note: Oracle Corporation strongly recommends that you convert
    LONG columns to LOB columns. LOB columns are subject to far
    fewer restrictions than LONG columns. See "TO_LOB" on page 4-111
    for more information.

    Hi,
    You should have created your own thread for this, and included database version.
    This works for me on 11.2.0.2 and 10.2.0.5 :
    SQL> create table t_org ( xml_clob clob );
    Table created
    SQL>
    SQL> insert into t_org
      2  values(
      3  '<Message>
      4  <Entity>
      5  <ASSIGNMENT>
      6  <OAVendorLocation> </OAVendorLocation>
      7  <Vendorid>1</Vendorid>
      8  </ASSIGNMENT>
      9  </Entity>
    10  </Message>'
    11  );
    1 row inserted
    SQL> commit;
    Commit complete
    SQL> select '*' ||
      2         extractvalue(xmltype(xml_clob),'/Message/Entity/ASSIGNMENT/OAVendorLocation')
      3         || '*' as result
      4  from t_org;
    RESULT
    SQL> update t_org set xml_clob =
      2  updatexml(xmltype(xml_clob),
      3  '/Message/Entity/ASSIGNMENT/OAVendorLocation/text()','LONDON').getClobVal()
      4  ;
    1 row updated
    SQL> select '*' ||
      2         extractvalue(xmltype(xml_clob),'/Message/Entity/ASSIGNMENT/OAVendorLocation')
      3         || '*' as result
      4  from t_org;
    RESULT
    *LONDON*
    Does the OAVendorLocation really have a whitespace value?
    If not then it's expected behaviour, you're trying to update a text() node that doesn't exist. In this case, the solution is to use appendChildXML to create the text() node, or update the whole element.
    Is it your real document? Do you actually have some namespaces?

  • Updating array data in sql database

    HI,
    Im facing problems in updating array data in SQL database.
    As of now, i am able to write an "insert" query and insert array data in an image datatype field. Im using image datatype because the array size is very big(around 80,000 x and y values).
    Althoug inserting data is easy im unable to write a query to update this data.
    Referring to the help of SQL server and Labview database connectivity toolkit, i came across a method of accessing image datatype....using textpointers, which are 16 bit binary values and using the WRITETEXT function instead of the UPDATE function.
    but the problem im facing is that ive to pass the array as a 2d string array in the query as a result the updated array is retrieved in the form of a string a
    nd not as an array. how do I get over this problem?

    Hi Pavitra,
    I'm not very clear on how you have inserted the data into your application, but I do know that when you call the UPDATETEXT or WRITETEXT function you use the TEXTPOINTERS to point to the first location of a 1d array. So, depending on how you've stored the data, you may have problems updating your data if you're looking at it as a 1d array instead of how you originally formatted it. If you are able to successfully access the data as a 1d array, you can use the database variant to data type vi and pass in a string array constant for the data type. This will convert the variant datatype into whatever you specify. You may have to index the row and column of the variant (you receive a 2d array of variant) first before you convert. If possible, can yo
    u provide some more detail and maybe some example code of how you perform the insert and plan to do the update? I can probably give you a better solution if I know how you are formatting the data. Thanks!

  • TableView - How to update a running balance column after any other column in the view is re-sorted

    To keep this simple and to illustrate a problem that I am trying to solve let's say we have
    a domain class that contains an income per day.
    This class has two persistent properties - populated from a database table - date and income.
    And there is one transient property - running balance - that shows the accumulated income
    starting from the first record. This property is not persisted and it is used only to show
    the running/accumulated income in a table view.
    This domain object is shown in a table view with three columns:
         - date
         - income
         - running balance
    The first two columns - date and income - are sortable. When the user clicks on the column
    heading these can will be sorted in ascending or descending order. The running balance
    column needs to reflect this change and be correctly updated.
    So the question is : how would you implement the running balance update after the data in
    the table has been updated by the user?
    Take 1)
    =============
    The obvious approach is to use "setOnSort" method to consume the SortEvent event and re-sort the
    data but the sort-event does not contain any useful information that would tell from which column
    the sort event originated.
    Take 2)
    =============
    Found a possible solution:
         - TableView.getSortOrder() returns a list that defines the order in which TableColumn instances are sorted after the user clicked one or more column headings.
         - TableColumn.getSortType() returns the sort type - ascending/descending.
         - This info can be used in the TableView.setOnSort() event handler to re-sort the data and update the balance at the same time.
    Take 3)
    =============
    When the TableView.setOnSort() event handler is called the data is already sorted therefore the only thing that needs to be done is to update the running balance.

    I  think I understand what you're trying to do. If I've missed it, apologies, but I think this will provide you with something you can work from anyway.
    I would listen to the data instead of watching specifically for sorting. This will be much more robust if you add new functionality later (such as adding and removing rows, editing the data that's there, etc).
    Specifically, for the runningBalance column, create a cellValueFactory that provides a DoubleBinding; this binding should listen for changes to the data and compute the value by running through the table's items up to the point of the item for which it's displaying the value. (Hope you can untangle that sentence.)
    Example. The important part is the cellValueFactory for the cumulativeAmountCol. I guess I should mention that you shouldn't try this exact approach with very large tables as the performance might be pretty bad (computations of the order of n x m on changing data, where n is the number of rows in the table and m is the number of visible rows in the table).
